      Ross Gerabaldi - all of baseball cares actually. The fact that you don't know why he was hit shows you're absolutely clueless on Acuña and the national league in 2018? Who is your team?

    • @batwayne708
      @batwayne708 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Ross Gerabaldi Houston fan here. Almost all of baseball fans care. It's unacceptable to hit a young stud that's trying to help Atlanta to clinch the division with a really hard fastball. What does Miami have to lose anyway? They are already dead last by ton of games. This just shows how competitive they are and other teams don't like that. Why are you defending him? At least try to show you're not scared of competition. This made me dislike Urena even more. Such a dick move.

      William Johnson there is a place and this is where u do it. U don’t hit him but when u crowed the plate and r on a hot stretch like Acuna he and his teammates should expect a brushback. Wrong to hit him, but let’s not act like he went head hunting, he played the next game. CALM DOWN! U don’t hit him but u DO brush him back. This is part of the game and it has been for 100+ years. All the games all-time greats did it. When hitters crowed the plate and r on hot streaks; pitchers brushed them off to let know that that’s my plate 2, and that ur not gonna walk into the box every at-bat and ur hot shit and hit the ball 10 miles every time 2. And the idea that it’s bad 4 the sport is bull crap, this is on every big time paper in America and it gets ESPN, FS1, and other sports talk shows to talk about baseball 4 a change other than Yankees & Red Sox

    Those announcers were 100% spot on. They had to toss Urena, because if I'm the Braves manager and I see him come out there in the 3rd, I'm telling my pitcher to drill him right in the spine. Absolutely bush league stuff and one of the few instances where I wholeheartedly agree with retaliation. If I'm the Braves, no matter where Urena ends up, even if he's not even a Marlin anymore by the next time they see him, drill him.

The thing I have a problem with is throwing at a player simply because he is playing well. That's a chicken shit move and it says a lot about a team. This is by no means over, sometimes it takes years to even the score, but its definitely not forgotten...

    I have never, ever commented on anything on TH-cam. My first ever. Jose Urena is now the Tonya Harding of the MLB. And Tonya Harding was barred from professional figure skating for life. It's not for me to say what larger punishment the MLB should levy against Urena. Urena's hatred for Acuna's talent just made himself a pariah in a game that he's worked so hard to be a major part of. He will never recover himself in the field of public opinion. My view of him is forever changed.

    • @storyofcory
      @storyofcory 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There will certainly be a lot of "Remember when..." from opposing teams announcers (and probably the opposing team's coaches and players, too) whenever Urena pitches again, that's for sure, but I'm not 100% convinced that he won't *ever* recover from this, Lauren Buono-Hudson. I think that depends a lot on how he pitches from here on out. If this was a "one and done" (don't hold your breath), then so be it. He made a mistake. If he keeps doing this crap, then... well, it's gonna be a problem, and like I said, I'm not holding my breath. I think he'll do this again some day.

    As a Marlin fan, I was never impressed by Urena to begin with. Even last year, he was a bad pitcher who simply got lucky, I felt like he couldn't pitch himself out of a wet paper bag if he tried. And that's honestly the least of his problems. He's a major headcase with *severe* problems.
    That pitch was purely intentional. He doesn't accidently hit 14 batters in a season. If he did, he wouldn't even be in the majors right now. This clearly displays how much of a classless act he is, and if my memory serves me right, this wasn't the only time he threw a bitchfit. I recall in the minor leagues he got into a fight with his own team mate. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. But the point is, Jose Urena is poisonous to the Marlin ballclub and for MLB. The faster he gets run out of the club, the better.
    I'd say I lost respect for Urena, but that implies I had any respect for him to begin with.
    PS: I hope Acuna Jr recovers quickly. He didn't do anything to deserve any of this.

    That was intentional and it was a punkish move by Urena. He better leave Atlanta by midnight. Acuna was just doing his job and he leaves the game what a disgrace.

    I'm newish to baseball and certainly not a pro. But what I do know is how to read people. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I've watched this video over and over trying to see if Urena did it accidentally. I know that he's had trouble and he throws inside, but there is no way that was accidental. Not only was it a nasty pitch, but his attitude afterward showed his intent. What a shame. I understand Urena might be angry that his team was getting swept by the Braves. I understand that he might just be scared to pitch against Acuna and he didn't want him to get that home run off the first pitch. I understand Urena wants to win and make his own team proud and help them out. All of those emotions are valid, but the way he handled it was just inexcusable. He did himself and his team no favors.
    Also, I love how Inciarte was ready to throw down. He was pissed. Snit was calmer walking out at first, but Inciarte was ready to rip someone apart.
