thats exactly why its an automatic ejection. You're no longer arguing the call the Umpire made but someone else made. Managers know this but they are still pissed and decide to take it out on whoever is standing there
Managers are usually still angry at the initial call. Going to replay, in their mind, should never happen. Umpires should get the call "right" the first time and not go to the booth. So, even though they know they will be done for the night, they argue the initial call.
Batters who try to bunt, should do so, at their own risk. I don't see how a pitcher can be liable for hitting the extended hand, relocated to the barrel of the bat, from the handle. When you deliberately move your hand from the handle, you intentionally increase the chance that the ball will make contact with a body part. Sort of like standing directly in front of the plate. Depending upon where the ball winds up after the hit, it's either a fair, or foul ball. I don't know the official rules. Just my 2 cents.
I know it’s been a year, but I’ll clarify the rules. If the batter is actively attempting to bunt at the ball, and it hits his hand, the pitch is a strike, the ball is dead, and no runners advance. If the batter is not attempting to strike the ball; but has his hand in the strike zone, the pitch is called a strike, the ball is dead, and no runners advance. If the batters is not attempting to strike the ball, and his hand is out of the strike zone, but does not attempt to avoid getting hit, the pitch is called a ball, the ball is dead, and no runners advance (unless it’s ball 4). Lastly, if he gets his out of the zone, and has attempted to avoid getting hit, it is a hit batter.
@@wesnall6796 Hi Wes. Appreciate your input. A day, a month, a year... It matters. But I'm not certain how this applies to my comment. Would you mind coming back and enlightening me just one more time? Thanks.
@@Seemsayin in essence, I was highlighting that there’s only one instance in which the pitcher is truly deemed “liable” for hitting the hand of the hunter. That’s basically if he threw a pitch that missed the strike zone and hit the batter while the batter wasn’t attempting to hit the ball. Much the same as he would be liable for missing the strike zone and hitting any other part of the batter while the batter wasn’t attempting to hit the ball.
No matter what, every time I see an ump get confrontational I get pissed. Look, you blow a call, it happens. You tell them to stop bitching after hearing them out, ok. But when you see an ump “show up” a player or a manager or throw a guy out for walking away EVEN IF THEY’RE still talking, then you’re not ready to be in the majors. These guys are playing for large money and you’re not the star. You’re the ump. Batters who try to bunt, should do so, at their own risk.
I don't see how a pitcher can be liable for hitting the extended hand, relocated to the barrel
of the bat, from the handle. When you deliberately move your hand from the handle, you
intentionally increase the chance that the ball will make contact with a body part. Sort of like
standing directly in front of the plate. Depending upon where the ball winds up after the hit, it's
either a fair, or foul ball.
@@wesnall6796Got it. Thanks, Wes.
Bryce Harper is such a crybaby. Probably was that kid that cried all the way home when something didn't go his way playing with friends. D O U C H E!
There should be a way to make the umpires pay for their mistakes.
You don’t have to take abuse, but when you’re looking into the dugout, or following after a guy, you’re being the punk and the league should implement a way for the team to appeal a toss when something like that happens.
Get some common sense mister, I’m an angel hernandez , mlb umpire fan…your same sense of reasoning applies more importantly to the players. ‘’ there’s no excuse being payed millions , and to miss a fly ball, or poor base running, bad pitching, hitless game, losing any game..managers who are losers. Poor commentating etc’’ see how it works dude?

That’s the most ridiculous comment ever.
I said “blow a call, it happens”
It’s about the showing up a player. Umps don’t want players showing them up but there is ZERO repercussions when the umps do it to the players.
Did you even read my comment or are just in a troll sniping mood?
part of this is home plate umpires watching the catchers glove not the ball
if they're going to "eject" players, i say they should literally eject them out of the stadium...by catapult or a specially designed ejector seat or something.
Not to throw cold water on the posters but videos of umpires bad calls and umpires tossing players out, are getting to be “a dime a dozen” on YT.
Agree
Hold me back! I might be inclined to act tougher than I most certainly know I am!
Why don't these players realize that arguing balls and strikes is pointless...we all know that most of the umps have never passed an eye 👁️ exam in their lives....
In the NBA,you can't leave the benches. Why do MLB allowed this to continue??
Has the umpire ejecting a manager ever actually ended the argument? The guy's going to finish his rant anyway, and all the ejection does is make him even more angry. "No, no, no. Don't do that. If you shoot him, you'll just make him mad." - Waco Kid
Ejecting them keeps them from future interruptions of the game. Use your head
