That first stage of the performance could have been many times longer and it would still have been far from boring.
Quick second year addition from a separate comment: The man played so hard that he literally broke his baton in the midst of this performance! He didn't miss a beat, instantly dropping the split wood and pulling out a prepared replacement... which implies that even with the best materials available, using this instrument for a prolonged performance is so physically powerful that it regularly splinters the wood in your fists, to the point that this is an expected eventuality and you train to *work around the limitations of physical matter* by instantly identifying the failure and accurately snatching a replacement. I just have to play it up, because that's some next level intensity. Further! Right? **Drums play in background** lol
Lol that sound, like the little boy from the meme taking a basketball to the head xD haaaaaaaaaayaaaaaaah
Whoa. *Ancient metal band.* He played that shamisen like an electric guitar. In a way that is so much more interesting.

Type: Wagakki Band in the search bar
😂😂👍
Shred like it’s 1462
Still nobody with an electric shamisen?
*He's really slapping that bass.*
*_NOICELY APPROVED_*
3:18 bruh his timing as well as pitch clarity & articulation is so clean. anyone who has never heard this music would think it's a sample
1:20 * main character remembering his life *

Ah, those early Japanese raves! Those were the days!
holy shit how is no one talking about those back muscles, dude's ripped
And those arms!!!! Omg!!!
we watch and enjoy 😂
My best friend's father was a taiko drummer. I can confirm, these guys are ripped and genuine badasses.
Gonna switch my gym membership for one of those drums
the very first comment displayed is about his muscles. And yeah he is fit ;)
The physical endurance the drummer has is next level. Shoulder pump to the max.
This is really impressive. These guys are both masters of their craft. The music is simultaneously powerful, elegant, subtle and brutal. Truly a masterpiece. It gives me goosebumps even though it's sweaty mid-summer.
i played this for my gekko and he turned into godzilla
😂😂😂😂
Gojira*
Oddly enough, gekkō in Japanese means "moonlight".
I can imagine a samurai fight scene with this music
And they call him Jack....
It's crazy how different cultures condense so much of their own unique energy into their music and that only in the last 3-4 decades have we been able to share that with each other.
look at the drummers muscle developement
he needs those muscle to fight off his neighbors who try to kill him every day while he practice.
His muscles probably grow after each performance
@@chapasproject good one!
You mean anyone who actually works out
I have no clue how I got here but I enjoyed this moment ^^ impressive
same here!
Gotta love youtue journeys lol...when they go right lol.
"What is your talent?"
"Beating the living hell out of a giant drum."
How do you even...start learning something like this?
Kenny Laysh Japan they have everything
You find someone who already knows how to do it and ask them to teach you.
Most taiko groups in America have an o-daiko, but you have to earn your way there usually. May take years depending on the dojo
I saw a documentary on this once. A group of young people, men and women lived in an austere communal house in the mountain to learn the art. It reminded me of a working monastery or convent
Kids learn it. I've been to festivals where they have all the kids doing drumming. They look so serious with their headbands and expressions but it's the cutest thing you'll ever see
the stamina to play this intensely for 14 minutes straight and not miss a beat is seriously impressive
9:02
This back and forth between them was amazing and concluded in an awesome way
How is that guy so ripped from just dru..... oh.
7-pound drumsticks
My shoulders hurt from.watching this
Me knocking on my front door at 1am 8:29
haha :-D
😂
魂が揺さぶられる🥺⚡️
I played this during my workout and now every time I go back people bow to me and call me sensei.
I'm nicknamed blacky sensei for working out in black while listening to this kinda music
Nice now your looking like a masterpiece
I played this and I didn't even have to workout
Me: *trying to sleep*
My neighbors at 3 am:
I would have actually enjoyed that
Why you trying to sleep at 3pm? Thats a totally reasonable time to play drums.
@@xjunkxyrdxdog89 I guess he either had a REALLY hard day, or forgot to change to am.
Lol 😂 3 pm or A.M ? Dude 🤣
Why you sleeping at 3 pm do you work third shift lol
Nothing beats a live musical performance no matter the genre
了不起的,天人合一搭配,音樂藝術的高境界。感謝分享。
This guy for 15 minutes non stop beating those drums. Hes a strong man. Thats not easy i would imagine 💪
Went from Waldruna to this... folk music is awesome
Shinichi Kinoshita living legend shamisen .

Really didn't think I'd watch the entire performance. I did. I loved it. It keeps going on in my head long after it's stopped. The amount of respect the drummer gave to the other performer was very humble. They both deserve the applause. Great fellows.
it feels like the violent fight between mountain and sea.
Like poetry
what the fuck
Sharingan lmao ikr wtf
thats a poetic shit only some asian would say lol
Earth Wind and Fire
OMG! There are so many talents in the world which I still have not discovered ...Unbelievable performance! 👌
That's what I thought when I found this sublime performance.
Is Zeus your God?
I'm listening to this at the gym feeling like a samurai
The drummer is so badass, other musician sounds impressive as well. I enjoyed every second of this
worked out listening to this and now i'm a ninja... thanks
I've been traveling all over the world this morning through music via TH-cam.
