    Nice and easy to understand, could have briefly listed what the Tyranid player does next because they're starting in melee, because that will be slightly different, not too hard to figure out either way but good for newbies

    Been trying to learn this game for a few weeks. This one finally got me to understanding a basic battle round. I hope when I check out your channel it is still going strong and has more tutorials. One small suggestion if you ever updated this video. Used a different set and color of dice for each army so you can tell when you are rolling for one and the other (such as when you did the saving throws for the Tyranids)

    Amazing video! This helped me a lot in understanding some of the rules of the game. Me and my friends have been fans of the 40k universe for a while now but only recently decided to give actually playing a try. This is the best video I've found so far explaining the rules in a practical and easy to understand way. Thank you so much for making this video!

    I haven’t played since middle school (2004) had no idea you could roll in bulk like that. Thought every try was was 1 unit at a time, and you had to declare which unit you wanted to try to wound each time.

    • @StrikingScorpion82
      @StrikingScorpion82  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So it would be one weapon type at a time you can role bulk dice for🙂

      4th edition is what I played back in 1997 or 98 and it was like that. We would target specific units and calculate cover individually. And rolling primative armor saves there every unit had a predetermined save roll.😅

    Just got back into the hobby after about 7 years and painting two armies (Thousand Sons and Imperial Guard/AM). I'm really enthusiastic, but I don't really know anyone else who is into the hobby. Does anyone have any tips about finding people to play in North London/Hertfordshire area? Thanks :)

    Hi just a question when it came to the alien turn are they allowed to move away to shoot and then charge in for melee ?

    • @drizzziit1
      @drizzziit1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They cannot. If they are in combat they cannot shoot (Unless they are a vehicle) or leave. They have to perform a specific action called "fall back" where they can move out of combat, but doing so prevents them from shooting or charging.
      You have special abilities and characters that allow you to bypass that.

    I don’t know if this was answered… the Tyranids get to fight melee during the space marine’s round (basically hitting back)?

    • @drizzziit1
      @drizzziit1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes after player 1 made all of their attacks with all units in combat, you get to fight back. This is only for melee combat and serves as a way to balance things. Charging into melee can give you a huge boost in movement but if you charge with a weak unit, you risk doing little damage and getting killed in return.

  • @demian9562
    @demian9562 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Bit confused, Tyranid player did not shoot (ranged) back but did fight (melee) back in that turn, why?

    • @drizzziit1
      @drizzziit1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because it isn't their turn. Units can only fight back in melee combat. There is a statagem however you can use in the ennemy turn called overwatch, wich allows you to shoot when it isn't your turn, but you suffer a penalty to hit.
      Shooting in 40k is extremely powerful.

    • @Drakelis
      @Drakelis 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Same but what I’ve seen is like “Red Deck Wins” in magic the gathering, there are a few armies with a much lower price tag (but still pricy) and friends of mine in the hobby say once you get a model it’s pretty much usable in every edition going forward, even as a proxy, ie: “Pretend this sword is a flamethrower, actually”. If you’re crafty you can also use magnets to get different loadouts from the same army.
      (Imperial Knights and Chaos Knights come to mind)

    Good video. I subscribed to your channel.
    Friendly advice, you use your middle finger on your left hand to point (the FU finger), and North American’s subconsciously see that. You are using index on right hand. You are probably doing something naturally for you, that is turning potential viewers off. I actually stopped watching the first time and dumb lucked into a second view and caught it. Then your presentation became amazing because I got over the subconscious hiccup and could value it based on what you actually presented.
    Just trying to help. I like your content. If you don’t make money, you won’t make content.

      Good advice, I guess this affects some people. As another North American, I didn't even notice nor care what finger you used. If that's the finger you use out of habit, I wouldn't stress it.
