This is the perfect video, not too much talking, not many instructions, not too fast, not too slow, not too long and I got it right the first time... nailed it! Bravo....
Nice! One point to add, though: The spool is built for 3 or 4 levels of line, not just a single. If you overdo it, it won't feed -- just open back up, take off a foot or so, and go again. You'll be reloading a third of the time by using the entire spool capacity. Thumb's up on a great vid.
Thank you for the video. I'm newly single after 19 years and I'm having to learn to do this now. I tried it once myself but every 3 minutes the string would break and I'd have to pull it out and pull the string more. Thank you!
Thank you, thank you thank you for putting this video up. I’m a newly single mom just bought my first place by myself and just mowing the grass. I cried for over an hour trying to put it together. This was much easier than my lawnmower experience. You are getting a follow from me ❤
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
Thank you for taking the time to create this tutorial. Im a woman, never used a weedwacker let alone strung it. Someone in the store showed me exactly what to do... i got home and said im gonna google. Your video was first. Glad it was because it is straight to the point, clearly speaking voice, showing exactly what you are talkn about. Lol i had to rewound string of course i have real long nails, finger glsliped off and string everywhere. PETFECT VIDEO.
Game changer! I didn't realize that you only fill the spool to one layer and that the line should be side by side... I've been doing it wrong for YEARS and now I know why my line was not auto threading properly. (I was threading it until the entire spool was completely filled, and I also was not doing the line side by side... and I also didn't know there were arrows telling me the direction.) THANK YOU GEAR MO!!
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL!!!!! I was fussing with replacing the string for so long till it occurred to me to look for a video on how to do it. This was sooo helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for the info on the string reload ... It's simple information like that which make the job so much easier and if you do it wrong and don't know why, the job becomes very frustrating ...🙂
Great video, short and to the point. I'm first time user and this video helped me. Thanks to you my backyard looks nice now. thank you for your time and effort on making this one.
thank you so much my stupid little brother has been trying to restring a weed eater for hours and he finally decided to do it right after watching this video
Thanks that really helped! I have one more question on this model . . how do you make the line feed out while you're using it? My previous weed eater just needed a tap on the ground but on this one ive literally been unplugging it then taking the spool out to manually pull more string. I feel really dumb asking because I know it shouldn't be that hard! Thanks in advance for any feed back
Thank u so much for this video! My husband has stopped doing yard work since we don’t get along. It makes me feel empowered to do things on my own! Blessings to you !
excellent video. just what i needed. only had to change it twice so far, and it has been a few years so yeah forget it....most of the work after locking the cord in through that hole is just the wrapping of the extra line..
Decent vid, but you only went around once. You're going to have to re-string it all the time that way. You can wrap it around, multiple layers, just make sure to not overlap or criss-coss on any single layer and keep them "in their own lane." I think there's an indicator on the spool to show the maximum depth.
Thanks for chiming in, Uzzy. I'm doing this for the 1st time, and is wondering why he didn't continue respooling. Appreciate the video, and the correction.
I was wondering several months ago what this spring on my garage floor went to. Now I know. My B&D was going through a bunch of line really fast. After watching this I'm wondering if this had a effect on keeping the line tight and releasing it slower.
This video was amazing this is my first time using a weed trimmer what is frustrating is when the string pops can you get the cord besides opening it up
Thank you! Very easy to follow - I literally strung mine watching this vid - first try - go me!!!!!! (Now I don't have to bring it to the hardware store in town - LOL)
Does the head or spool thing come completely off so i could put a brush blade on this...?...i couldn't find a hole on mine to stick a thin rod into, or do you think this model can't do that...?...Thank you...
I have a question. Single female here, struggling! I loaded the string properly, or so I thought. When starting to use the weedeater, about an inch too much string comes out and bangs loudly against the side. I cut it off and it did it again. Every time. Any advise? Thanks.
You are better off to just get a trimmerr that uses a single strand string (or dual) and forget the winding. I have not seen an electric that has this but you can get replacement heads for gas trimmers that use this method. I have never wound a string trimmer that does not get tangled up and won't work. If you are handy you can use the replacement head that uses a single string and adapt it to your electric trimmer
I never had to use this type of weed Wacker until my husband suddenly passed. This video was very helpful until I got to the end of wrapping the string. I didn't see how you ended the string. Before putting it back together.
Same here. I tried buying my own string but it blew through 15 feet in about 5 minutes. The string is the right gauge but maybe it's too heavy and is triggering the feed mechanism, either by having to much tension, or by causing the mechanism to over-feed if the string knife is struggling to cut the string.
i was hoping you would cover this during your video. when i use the black and decker weed wacker, i keep having to unplug and manually extend out more string. how do i make this happen without manual intervention?

Your the best I saw that you could do more than one but this was my first video and only saw him do it once thank you

What I like most about your video, is I was able to figure out what to to within 2 minutes. Thanks.
This video is the one that made me realize I’m shitty at lots of things

Thank you. I swear, TH-cam is probably one of the best sites for instructional videos.
You get a like from me as gratitude.
Thank you so much for this! This is my first time using a weed whacker and I had no idea where to even start! This video helped a ton!
SUGGESTION: Next video ... How to CLEAN your Black and Decker weed eater. Seriously, thank you. Great job.
Thank you!!! I just followed your video completely! Helped this single older lady do it herself!
Wow thank you sir! I haven’t seen this simplistic and spot-on accurate demonstration in a long time. This was an incredible how-to video, thank you!
Short, sweet, and entirely demystifies any questions about the process. NOICE!!! Thumbs-up given.
This was so much easier than asking my drunk neighbor! 🥴
Well I'm not helping you with your weed Whipper no more drunk or not
@@justinsane7128 sorry man! 😅😅

I am 76 year old grandma. This was a great video. I am very happy that I was able to fix my Weedwhacker myself!
Thanks for helping a first time home buyer.

Thread the entire spool 3-4 layers
but make sure each layer is flat and side by side in its "own lane", not willy nilly. Don't over fill.
😊
I’ve been wasting money buying pre-threaded spools that have layers of string and constantly getting jammed. Looking forward to using this method!
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL!!!!! I was fussing with replacing the string for so long till it occurred to me to look for a video on how to do it. This was sooo helpful. Thank you!
I’m very new to trimming weeds and great at it! Very helpful step by step instructions. Appreciated!
Thank you. This was a really quick and simple explanation. Great job.
Best one 👍
Now I have no excuses😊 Very helpful video!
Great video! Thank you for posting it. I bought the .95 but fortunately watched your video before opening it.
Thanks bro. Great demonstration and easy to follow ,don't overlap string it will be difficult for line to feed ,now mine works ,thanks to you.
Thank you for the info on the string reload ... It's simple information like that which make the job so much easier and if you do it wrong and don't know why, the job becomes very frustrating ...🙂
Thanks! I did it right. But, I used .065 Ugly Twist. So tuff that the cutter won't cut it to proper length.
Great video, short and to the point. I'm first time user and this video helped me. Thanks to you my backyard looks nice now. thank you for your time and effort on making this one.
Make it more than one level. Make b It depends upon the space on the spool but one level on my machine was a dud.
Thank you so much, my weedeater is actually usable now and not just wasting away in the garage!
It's refreshing to hear someone with a good command of the language!
Thank you Gearmo Auto for sharing. Well explained step by step this is so helpful I appreciate you. 👍

I have this trimmer.FYI The hole in the back is for the cord to go through and loop on the hook to lock it. Good review.
how can I change the Line Spool to a 6 blade metal head on this same BLACK+DECKER Trimmer?
I wonder if some people who have trouble have lost the spring and don’t know it. I think that may have happened to me before. 🙃. Great video!
thanks for your help, your video was super helpful, straight forward. thanks again !!!
Thanks brother, black decker doesn't explain crap they just want you to buy their own refills.
Thank you that was really helpful and easy to follow ❤
Thank you for your video. I was about to return but your video helped me throughout.
How do you prevent spool from emptying really quickly. I set it up, go out and use strimmer. And spool is empty very quickly

I loaded the string properly, or so I thought. When starting to use the weedeater, about an inch too much string comes out and bangs loudly against the side. I cut it off and it did it again. Every time. Any advise? Thanks.

Thank you for your video; you perfectly described how to do it.
Replacing the line in mine this way and it keeps coming loose and I have to replace the line every 5 minutes or so. Any advice?
Dude amazing video and thanks for being detailed in how to string this damn thing up
thank you, clear direction and to the point
Thank you so much for making this video 💕
No matter how tight I wrap this, as soon as I start using it a lot of extra string automatically releases :(

Worked perfectly! Thanks so much!
Is it feeding automatic ly?
I just put new line in mine and it just ate right through it. It's never ran out of line that fast before. Any suggestions?
Best video ever, thank you!
Thanks, very useful! I had no idea how to get the string back on
Thank you! This video helped immensely!

New parts. I have a video explaining it. Go to GEARMO AUTO and type in weed whacker

Thank you!! What the heck are the other little holes for then?? To confuse us?? THANKS!! You saved me!!
Thank you so much for the video, very helpful 👍
Yooooo so easy to follow thank you friend!
Hi I have a question,
What do you think is the problem if the whacker isn’t turning at all when on?
New friend here Thanks for sharing your video 😍
Does the thread come out as needed
Are you able to replace the heads of the trimmer with electric ones?
That looked easy and very helpful thank you
Very clear instructions, thank you
