Having got crazily stressed trying on my own and getting it wrong many times, your calm voice relaxed me totally and I achieved the perfect re-wound strimmer spool! Thank you so much ☺
My yard has been going crazy w/all this rain lately and all I have is a weed eater and w/prices now...the line I used to get went from $5 to $12 so now, I was looking for a how to video. After several "meh" ones I'm glad I ran into yours. Thanks for the thorough explanation. I was about to sub but I noticed this was your last video in 4 years.
I saw a video where the guy used his drill to wind it kind of like a singer bobbin. He didn't show exactly how to secure it in the beginning so thank you for that.
Thanks. I know now why my trimmer line keeps flying off. Thanks. Nice conversation you got going there too as you wind and wind. Good job making a trimmer line video worth watching, not an easy task!
Brilliant video tutorial and you have a very soothing voice! I have always struggled with replenishing the line, but feel confident after watching you demonstrate 😊👏👏
The best! Thank you! When I saw 14 minutes I looked for other (shorter) videos but came back to this. Glad I did! So thorough! No fast forwarding. The last step was crucial for me: how to hold the line after you finish winding it. Really appreciated the comments about sore thumb muscles too. Excellent!
"A happy little trimmer line lives right here. If you're sitting out on your porch watching the birds as you wind this you should be careful they don't mistake the line for a nice skinny worm".... Nice video :)
Your voice is so calm and soothing I almost fell asleep Lol. You could probably make a ton of money recording and selling audio children's bedtime stories zzzzzzzzzz.........
I felt like this was a "Bob Ross" tutorial😃! "Put the pretty green line, in the hole! Ever so gently"!!! 😂.....Thank you for taking your time to share! Works Great, save yourself some 💰!!!
Thank you for an excellent tutorial on loading line! The manufacturer's instructions were useless and I bet intentional inorder to sell ready made spools.
Very informative and also relaxing to listen to! I agree with the person who commented this was like listening to Bob Ross. Thanks for the great video!
I had to rewatch this two times your soothing voice had me falling asleep around the 7 minute mark lol . Tomorrow I’ll be trying this on my machine! Thanks🤓
Just what I needed today. Was given a B&D Weed Eater and guess what? The line ran out today. The Wife had some old spare line laying around, so I thought I'd call up the Operator (The Matrix) and learn how to refill one of these. Thanks!
Many thanks.......I would just wrap the line any old which way, and of course I would have feeding problems.....like you say keep it tight and smooth no endless overlaps.
Using your instructions I have successfully restrung my B & D line trimmer several times. It's a little tedious, however, considering the savings I can put up with it. I noticed that it helps to pare down the line at its end with a utility knife in order to first insert it into the small hole. I would recommend purchasing some extra pre-strung spools to have on hand when the original spool becomes worn and bites the dust. In addition I would suggest purchasing a spare orange cap with spring. Some ebay sellers have a six pack of the black pre-strung spools with an orange cap and spring included. Thanks for posting this. Very helpful.
Are you related to Bob Ross.. so like that fella..you are very relaxing to listen to and thorough with the explanation of threading the spool, I really enjoy this video thank you so much!
Thanks for the video! I was wondering why it wasn't feeding automatically after restringing the spool. And your voice is so cozy. You're the Bob Ross of weed eaters lol.
When you pop it into the machine to use and thread it through the outside hole do you take it out of the last”holding spot” where it wouldn’t unravel? Im a newbie
I'm so grateful for your help in instructing so well on rewinding trimmer. Looks like I completed the winding successfully, hopefully it will fit well and my weeding project is on its way. Thank you.
I know this video is 6 years old but I am just now coming across this and it would've saved me lots of money since I do use a B&D and Craftsman string trimmer. I wonder if you could use tape down at the bottom when you first wind it around to hold that part in place before winding it?
i have 3 b&d string trimmers. The motors burn out really fast. Once you get into some tall grass you'll start to smell an oily firey odor, then you see smoke coming out of the motor housing. I'm going to see if they sell replacement motors. The third one is now starting to burn and I just paid the Lowes bill with the trimmer purchase last week.
You can buy aftermarket ones on Amazon with 30 ft. of line for about $2 a piece when you buy 6 to 10 spools. I got 8 spools with a new cap and spring for $19 and they work very well.
Ive had this trimmer for years and i had no idea you could even buy pre strung spools like this, like i assumed if i wanted a replacement that it would come pre strung, but i couldnt fathom buying spools in bulk.
So there is a little switch inside where the head goes. I call it a switch . but it's like a little plastic piece that moves back and forth a couple degrees that slides along the gears for the auto line to work. Is there supposed to be a spring attached to that? I've tried to respool 3 times and the line is constantly coming out I was thinking a little spring got out, or does that move back and forth freely? Thank you if you know what I'm talking about
Well done and very informative accept I have a GH3000 B&D. However, creating the spool is much the same but the beginning is of course different for my machine.
I bought a new spool for the second hand GL330 I bought but then had to manually unwind and rewind the spool that was on it anyway cause it turned out to be stuck... atleast it works now.
All the "how to" videos ive watched that just annoyed the hell out of me cuz they just yapped and yapped and went on and on for 30 mins or more. Just for the actual info to literally be only 2 mins long. And then i find your video... I could listen to you talk about nothing aaallll day. You would do extremely well doing hypnosis audios. Youre voice and speech are incredibly hypnotic. ❤️
Good video. For people complaining about you should have edited it, I disagree. Was good to watch it "soup to nuts". You can speed up the video if you like to watch it faster to save time if you like. So about how many "rows" until it is full? About 5? Thanks for the video!
I think if you reel out that specific measurement of line and cut it it would not coil tight on you, it seems like you're fighting it more than you have to. You need to let the free end spin around as your coiling, right? Like a pressure washer hose or a ball of line,You have to let the free end spin around as you're coiling. Thank you for the video though,Just what I needed.
Thank you for showing how to do this. But I can't get my spool line holder out of the plastic holder. There must be a trick to it, no wonder I can't get my line to stay in the spool.
Any tips on getting the spool to NOT autofeed too much line? I've done this, and the line feeds out way too quickly. Just wondering if you'd had better luck.
Is it common for these things to be defective? I've only put one spool of line through my trimmer. I guess the arm could definitely be broken (haven't opened it up to check), and it could have been bad from the factory.
I tried the ebay, amazon prestrung spool and none works with my trimmer. I have to do it the hard way you did and man, I can tell you it's tedious as hell. Your thumb will probably appreciate (or not) the exercise!!! And as you said DON'T LET IT SLIP OUT OF YOUR HAND! I almost finished once and accidentally drop it and all the bad words I know just came out of my mouth!!!
I measure out several 30’ lengths of string and wrap them back onto an empty string roll for storage . I find that this saves the most time when I sit down and do multiple spools .
Am trying to restring a 2mm cos its the nearest to1.65mm i can find online. Anyone having opinion, pls share. Thumbs numb already, cannot put through first hole, so, u tied the first end and then loop in. Will it work?
Nice video! Would it help to remove the trimmer line from the package and let the curl straighten out first? With previous trimmers I've re-loaded, the line always wanted to kink and curl. If so, about how many feet of line does it take to load a spool?
You are the Bob Ross of lawn maintenance.
Having got crazily stressed trying on my own and getting it wrong many times, your calm voice relaxed me totally and I achieved the perfect re-wound strimmer spool! Thank you so much ☺
Great thorough instructions and an even better video, Black and Decker needs to sign you to a contract to do their instructional videos!!!
you got a whole Mr Rogers type of Bob Ross Bob Vila thing going on with your voice cool! thanks for the tips🙂👍
I enjoyed your ASMR-like presentation. Very relaxing. Probably more relaxing than actually rewinding the spool.
Thanks for not skipping over any details. I needed to see and hear the whole procedure. 😁🤸♀️
Yours is the best video The Black & Decker video didn't even put it in the hole correctly so you could bend it over like you showed. Kudos
I saw a video where the guy used his drill to wind it kind of like a singer bobbin. He didn't show exactly how to secure it in the beginning so thank you for that.
You're so patient...and all this time you are so calm...soothing
The new role is over 600ft. Looks like your weekend is spent. Thanks again!
Thanks for your patient voice! Yep, I got the hang of it. Now we can "roll your own"!
Thanks. I know now why my trimmer line keeps flying off. Thanks. Nice conversation you got going there too as you wind and wind. Good job making a trimmer line video worth watching, not an easy task!
Thankyou sooo much.
Instructions were clear and concise...and I could see clearly as you worked up close!!!!!!
Oh wow. Awesome video. I’ve been having trouble for years and now I don’t have to worry about wasting line. Thank you!
Brilliant video tutorial and you have a very soothing voice! I have always struggled with replenishing the line, but feel confident after watching you demonstrate 😊👏👏
Amazing!! Bob Ross of trimmer lines. Made it an art form
Thank you I didn’t realize you could layer the string. Now I have more line on hand!
The best! Thank you! When I saw 14 minutes I looked for other (shorter) videos but came back to this. Glad I did! So thorough! No fast forwarding. "A happy little trimmer line lives right here. If you're sitting out on your porch watching the birds as you wind this you should be careful they don't mistake the line for a nice skinny worm".... Nice video :)
I have a similar spool and could not find a video on it. This helped a lot and helped me understand which hole to put it in.
I feel slightly hypnotized... 😅 hopefully I remember it all!
Thanks for this 👍
Your voice is so calm and soothing I almost fell asleep Lol.
I was thinking Mr. Rogers. lol
Thank you for the instructions...(to me) you sound like the Bob Ross of Black & Decker line replacement...you need to be on PBS!
Coming here to make the same comment!
I came to make the same comment also.
À a
EXCELLENT DESCRIPTION...the sad part is I don't have those skills in my hands...I will try to do it myself.
Agreed!! That is so true lol
Nice job. What an awesome voice. Very calming like Bob Ross!
I thought the same thing!
Thank you for an excellent tutorial on loading line! The manufacturer's instructions were useless and I bet intentional inorder to sell ready made spools.

Laughingggggggggggggggggggggggg I thought of MR. Rogers.
Yup that sounds right, neighbour😊
My wife thought the same..asked me if I am watching a video on how to get sleep 💤
Worked just fine on my trimmer👍 thank you😀
Just what I needed today. Was given a B&D Weed Eater and guess what? The line ran out today. The Wife had some old spare line laying around, so I thought I'd call up the Operator (The Matrix) and learn how to refill one of these. Thanks!
Thank-you! After watching four other videos, finally one that makes sense and shows the close-ups I needed.
Thanks for the video. I'm chilling and winding my trimmer line now. Good times.
Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to post this. I thought I’d have to buy a new strimmer but it had just come undone inside. Brilliant!
....it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood 😄
If I could I surely would! Haaa
Totally! We need this kindness during simple training as adults. I also thought of Mr. R!
My thoughts exactly as I was watching!
You're da Best!!!! Thank You ever so much for the super great explanation!!
Your voice is so soothing. Thanks for this video. I'm gonna give it a try.
Many thanks.......I would just wrap the line any old which way, and of course I would have feeding problems.....like you say keep it tight and smooth no endless overlaps.
.
That was so calming and therapeutic.
Many thanks
.
So relaxing to hear your voice. i might overdub it with some chill-out down-tempo music
This guy is the Bob Ross of weed whacking

Lol
Hhhh, great video and I like your patience and sense of humour buddy. You are so amazing.
Keep on posting such useful videos.
What a great instructional video from Mr. Rogers!
We love you, Mister Rogers.
My thought exactly!
Are you related to Bob Ross.. so like that fella..you are very relaxing to listen to and thorough with the explanation of threading the spool, I really enjoy this video thank you so much!
Excellent... I didn't know I could do more than one row..had to keep changing it!!!
You must’ve watched that other guy’s shorter video. It works but what a pain.
Im a newbie
Thank you for this video. I was able to follow the instructions and it worked perfectly. The line itself is so durable.
I'm so grateful for your help in instructing so well on rewinding trimmer. Looks like I completed the winding successfully, hopefully it will fit well and my weeding project is on its way. Thank you.
Thank you Mr Rogers! You are a great teacher
Thank you! Your voice reminds me of Bob Ross. 😁
And now your ready to trim that happy little tree.
Soothing AND funny. Lost the tension a few times laughing.
Great explanation and great job...THANK YOU...STRAIGHT TO THE POINT....🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

No spring but should dance freely.
This was informative. I think this could have been trimmed from 2:15 - 11:15 and gotten the same instruction. Point got across. Thank you!
Mine want let the string feed back out after it wears down,,what have I done?!!
Clean it out in the spool area on the trimmer side. Make sure the part that moves back and forth is moving free.
chasiu75 thanks. Going out to building to get it and try again. I decided to wind one myself yesterday evening and it wouldn’t come out anymore
Thank you so much! Great teaching❤
Excellent Mr. Rodgers
Excellant. Thank you for the step by step guide. Appreciated.
Thanks friend, I also like to roll my own. This video is very helpful.
Well done and very informative accept I have a GH3000 B&D. However, creating the spool is much the same but the beginning is of course different for my machine.
Thank you very much for the clear instruction and explanations. You are making it like an art piece of work! Perfect!

Can 0.095" trimmer lines be used with Black and Decker tools?
Good video. For people complaining about you should have edited it, I disagree.
Was good to watch it "soup to nuts". You can speed up the video if you like to watch it faster to save time if you like.
So about how many "rows" until it is full? About 5?
Thanks for the video!
My problem when refilling the spool is that the bulk replacement line gets so twisted coming out of the container. How do I prevent that?
Feel the burn! Thanks for this tutorial :)
Wow! That’s spectacular,, thanks for sharing, very helpful info
Look at the birds or something. This is some first class ASMR 😂
What do you do when the afs system starts to let all its line out? if there a fix for that?
Bro terima kasih penjelasan dan sangat berguna saya memakai GL4525 black+ Decker berapa diameter ukuran senar penggantinya?? Terima kasih
.065-Inch Diameter link ada dalam deskripsi. Terima kasih sudah menonton!
but how to you get the line to get longer,do i have to tap it on the ground, for it to get longer ?
I think if you reel out that specific measurement of line and cut it it would not coil tight on you, it seems like you're fighting it more than you have to. Thank you for showing how to do this. But I can't get my spool line holder out of the plastic holder. There must be a trick to it, no wonder I can't get my line to stay in the spool.
PLEASE, start another channel for guided meditation! Your voice is perfect
Any tips on getting the spool to NOT autofeed too much line? I've done this, and the line feeds out way too quickly. Just wondering if you'd had better luck.
David Clawson I had the same issue. I replaced the actuating arm, cap and spring. I will post links.
chasiu75 wow, thanks!

Is it common for these things to be defective? I've only put one spool of line through my trimmer. I guess the arm could definitely be broken (haven't opened it up to check), and it could have been bad from the factory.
'you know how kids are' LOL! Yeah the ones I know would want $1 X10. Haha, Thanks for the share.
I find it quite easy to rewind mine. I have my husband do it..
Is this an ASMR video? If so - it works.
Did that pretty neat but it keeps jamming. Now it got cut a d the loose end is buried somewhere in the reel and can't see it.
Thank you! Very nice instructions.
What is your favorite trimmer? Ty
Milwaukee LOL
I tried the ebay, amazon prestrung spool and none works with my trimmer. I have to do it the hard way you did and man, I can tell you it's tedious as hell. Your thumb will probably appreciate (or not) the exercise!!! And as you said DON'T LET IT SLIP OUT OF YOUR HAND! I almost finished once and accidentally drop it and all the bad words I know just came out of my mouth!!!
tape the feed mechanism. The B&D goes thru string about 100x faster than it should.
Thank you. Made it clear as a bell!
I measure out several 30’ lengths of string and wrap them back onto an empty string roll for storage . I find that this saves the most time when I sit down and do multiple spools .
Will multi edged line work on these spools? I bought some and didn't realize it until I got home with it.
It would help actually. It is a fight because it wants to twist. I need to measure it sometime and precut it.
Thanks. I found some replacement spools on Amazon, and they say each contains 30ft of string.
That's going to be fun to measure out.
The length of my outstretched arms is about 5 ft, so if I pull off 6 arm lengths of trimmer string that should be about 30 ft.
Help. I cannot get the spool out of the orange holder. It's a B and D GH3000 type1 7.5A
Thank you for this!
Very thorough, except you missed the bit where you get right near the end but it gets free, drops and unspools. Your forgot that bit.
Well said..welcome to my world 😂
A big thankyou and just subscribed you channel.
