      And a Powerwagon laughs and jokes about the Raptor. But, two different types of trucks, one for speed over bumps (Raptor), and one for go anywhere ability (Powerwagon). At this specific test, the PW is still unbeaten. Either way, the Raptor did very well, even with that puny crap sounding V6.

    As much as I love my fully-independent suspension, there is no denying the articulation of a straight axle. In this particular case, a rear straight axle combined with independent front suspension, a typical setup for many 1/4 ton and 1/2 ton trucks and SUV's (on truck frames, of course).

      @mitchelllanden8486 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      HellKitty 101 jeez dude it’s pretty impressive and yeah I would like to see a power wagon do it. It would have the advantage with its solid front axle and would probably be able to do it in 2wd. We are impressed with the raptor because it is built for HIGH SPEED off roading not crawling in 2wd like this, which is why the front suspension is independent so yeah it’s impressive.

  • @Y10Q
    @Y10Q 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    it does seem to struggle when the wheels go up in air, which is pretty much never with that much suspension travel.

    • @jabroni6199
      @jabroni6199 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      YES10 I was thinking the opposite. Looked to me like he was in 2H and I thought the electronic traction control did rather well for pushing a 3 ton truck up an incline with effectively only one wheel pushing it forward.

    • @Y10Q
      @Y10Q 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doubt that a 2wd is capable of pushing it, as you can tell that even in 4wd it could barely move up the incline when you lift the wheels off the ground. Thing is, with that much suspension, there is almost always ground contact.

    • @jabroni6199
      @jabroni6199 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There's no need to doubt it because that's what happened. It's not in 4WD. It's very obvious from the video its in 2WD and beyond that, it says so in the description.

    • @NYCnMiami
      @NYCnMiami 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Bro, the truck was in 2WD. Traction control applied braking to the rear wheel that lifted sending power to the one firmly planted. That's why it "struggled", as you say (while everyone else who watched the video is seriously impressed by how easy the Raptor made this look). If they had put it in 4WD and locked the rear diff they would have had power at all 4 wheels. Imagine how easy it would have looked then? Please educate yourself before commenting. Or at least read the video description. Sheesh.

    • @johnt6673
      @johnt6673 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love my 2017, need to take it off road and play with it. Yes10, it seems to struggle? Get a clue. You have to be patient for the nanny's to go to work. You can not just apply more power. Well, you could and good luck with the major repair bill.

    I have been driving my 2018 Super Cab Ox White for about 10 days now, My last was a Platinum Crew Cab 2013 and was a great vehicle other than its stupid poor tires in snow. This Raptor is SOOOOOOOO far advanced in every way. This is the best light duty PU I have ever seen. I have owned Fords, Jeep, Toyotas, and Dodge and used my brothers nice Chevy -- no comparison -- the Raptor is best. Well, pay load is smaller and tow capacity is less if you need heavy duty, there are better choices -- but for a light duty truck with ultimate comfort, technology, and capability off road -- this is IT.

    Why don't you buy some rollers? With those you could test traction control with with the same conditions for each car you test, without the "help" of suspension. And you could try also the three rollers test. (sorry for my bad English, I don't speak English)

    • @fastman454

      Fabio Artosi rollers wouldn't take into count vehicle weight and resistance for some of these AWD systems. Sure...every AWD system works on rollers. But factor in vehicle weight and resistance and that tells a different sorry. Me personally id rather see real world tests on everything

      crislt1 it is one of the best trucks out there because of how well it does crawling, high speed off road, on road and the engine is great. I do agree with you on the fact that they are very pricy. But once you knock that off it is one heck of a truck. Also nice selection of trucks you have.

      @@mitchelllanden8486 Thanks, the only reason I dont have a new Raptor is because of the EcoBoost it sounds like shit when you get a exhaust. nothing beats the sound of a V8.

      Unless Ford changed it for the gen 2 you can lock in 2wd. My 2012 Raptor is able to so I don't see why the new ones can't

    What's the difference between a mountain lion and a mountain goat. Well looking at the Tremor and the Raptor that's what they remind me of.

    next question: why can't ford redesign the entire F series line suspension to do this, with OEM in house designed damping/springs. don't need the crazy aftermarket damping or the 500hp engine, but why can't OEM suspension be designed with this much functionality, at entry prices, factory springs/damping and linkage/placement. no reason why the whole line can't stretch like this, it's a matter of where the material goes, not material type. If the base bare bones contractor F-150 came from the factory with OEM wheel travel like this it would put GM and Ram the fuck out of business in 6 months. just a thought.

    Si fuera 4x4 no le costaría trabajo subir sin problemas porque así como sebe no se activa automáticamente la traccion como es en otras que si lo trae
