    Some Info:
    Car of this age (1973) was fitted with automatic Gearbox - with a 3 speed automatic gearbox Hydra-matic 350, not a 4 speed as stated in the video - Hydra-Matic 400.
    4 speed automatic Gearboxes were fitten only on UK cars ( RHD) from 1965-1970. It seems the initial provided information was incorrect.
    V8 engine was indeed available before the Silver Shadow. When I was saying it was revolutionary, it is because this was the first Rolls- Royce designed around a V-8 engine.
    When the sales started in 1965 it costed 19700$ approximate. The fact that it went to 30000$ later is a different story.

    Don't mind the fuel, they actually drive very well even on 95 octane fuels. Yours must be a Uk spec with a 9:1 compression ratio. Even though it states 100 octane behind the refuelling latch, that refered to the older type of fuel available in the 1970s.

      Really? Wow as the owner is not risking going lower than 98 octane fuel

      @@VictoriosoReviews Do try it - it won't hurt the car. I have tried it myself - for years. You might need to retard the ignition timing by 1-2 degrees, but that's it. The problem is ethanole. Dont't drive with 10% ethanole fuels (or leave it in the tank), if possible.

    Regarding the buttons: The far right button next to the switchbox is for the fuel door, the button beneath the ampmeter is for the oil level test during driving. It will show in your fuel gauge. Try it and you see how the indicator will move. At the same time, you will hear a beeping tone. This is the check for the overheating warning buzzer. You will also see the "Coolant" lamp lit during this test.

      Wow, thank you for the details! I should inform the owner to check it. 🙏🤗

    29:40: There is no switch to control the direction of blowing - this is your rear window demist. It will switch on the vertical heating wires (very fine and almost invisible) on your rear screen.

    If your breaks do not break, get them fixed ... ( can get expensive, there are 3 seperate breaks that do a very good job when working correctly, everything else is simply dangerous - - - and ... the DOT4 i see in your trunk is poison for this car, it needs a special fluid that is hardly availible noadays )

    First V8 was the Silver Cloud III, not the Shadow.

    • @EnglishLawyer
      @EnglishLawyer ปีที่แล้ว

      The first V8 was in the Silver Cloud 2. introduced in 1959. I owed one. It was a 1960 model. It was 6.123 litres. Starting in 1968 for the 1971 model year, the stroke of the V8 engine was increased from 3.6 to 3.9 in (91.44 to 99.06 mm), thereby increasing the engine capacity to 6,750 cc (412 cu in). Known as the Six and Three-Quarter Litre or simply the Six and Three-Quarter, it is the most widely used and well known of all the versions and possibly the most famous British V8 engine of all time.

      @@VictoriosoReviews Thank you. I've actually decided to buy a Rover P5b instead. So many garages won't touch Rolls-Royce because the instruction guides are so expensive it's not worth their while.

      @@VictoriosoReviews Rubbish and fuel consumption is a problem, not least because long and frequent filling stops are more inconvenient that the expense. 12.5-14 mpg would be accurate and unlike you I didn't have to "ask a friend".
