  • Anycubic in 2022 launched a number of incredible 3d printers at the latter part of 2022 Anycubic put out two further printers, Kobra Go and Kobra Neo - But which one is better?
    Thank you to www.PCBway.com for sponsoring this video!
    Anycubic Kobra Go & Neo are 220x220x250 3D Printers with some excellent qualities, both come with slightly different PEI beds, but the element that really makes the change is the hot end. Make your choice Bowden Vs Direct drive!

    About this video:
    TheRealSamPrentice is comparing the Anycubic Go and Neo 3D printers from the Kobra range.
    Both printers have a build volume of 220 x 220 x 250 and a 2.4-inch LCD screen.
    The main difference between the two is the type of filament feed system: the Go uses a Bowden-style system, while the Neo uses a direct drive system.
    Sam prefers the direct drive system and believes it produces better results.
    In printers of this size, the difference between the two systems may not be significant.
    The Neo comes with additional features, such as a double-textured print bed and a direct drive system, for a slightly higher price.
    Sam has been using the Neo for several weeks without any problems.
    The Go also performed well, but Sam experienced some issues with the Bowden-style filament feed system.
    Sam believes that the Neo is the better option due to its features and performance.
    Sam suggests that users who want to print flexible filaments slightly faster may benefit from the Neo's direct drive system.
    Sam notes that in larger printers, the advantages of direct drive systems become more apparent.
    The advantages of Bowden-style systems include less weight on the printer head and reduced vibrations.
    Anycubic did not give users the option to choose between the two systems when the printers were released.
    The speaker does not think that Anycubic will offer upgrades to change the filament feed system on the Go.

    Very informative - I am considering the Neo. Do you have a superslicer profile for the Neo to download?

    So I can use Super Slicer and configure it with Ender 3 settings and it will work with the Neo? Thanks for letting me know

    Great video, i recently got the neo and it is amazing, i've had no troubles with PLA, but the microsd card that comes with the printer has 3 cura profiles, ome for PLA (currently using with so e basic changes i made), ABS not needing it as for the time being i have no need for abs printing and the last profile for PET this pet profile i am unable to make it work, as cura always says "draft quality can't be used with current printer" when importing the pet profile.
    Can you help me get the PET profile to work?

    Micro Center here in The States has/had the Kobra Go on sale for $99, so I picked one up.
    I'm just hoping I can print power tool battery adapters with it, and isn't a pain to maintain.

    Would I be right in assuming you use SuperSlicer on the Anycubic Max? Is the Kobra Go the same Volcano setup as the Max and the Vyper?

    • @TheRealSamPrentice
      @TheRealSamPrentice  ปีที่แล้ว

      For the max I use cura and superslicer but it depends on what I’m working on. The hot end is a re-design but it’s pretty much the same setup.

    So I love th videos, this one convinced me to buy the neo over the Go myself. However im a damned pleb and have only been printing. For a few weeks on a resin mono 4k printer. I got a semi successful owl off the SD card once. Think you could do a video going over how to get the proper G code in place for these things? Or how you got yours from the box to awesome prints? Its so new u can't find resources anywhere

      any print tuning video to set up will cover what you need to know, just have to push buttons differently on a particular printers screen.

    Ok, my question is between the Kobra (base model) and the Kobra Neo which one would you pick? Both are direct drive with textured PEI and auto bed leveling (my favorite things on printers) but the Neo is $50 cheaper. Just curious if there are any major differences I'm missing that make one somehow that much better than the other.

    • @TheRealSamPrentice
      @TheRealSamPrentice  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure thing the basic Kobra has the larger “vyper” style screen. Hence the price increase. Again pei, direct drive and inductive probe on the bed :)

    I'm a newbie when it comes to 3d printers. I want to get one. I don't know what to get. I don't like messing around with stuff starting off. What can I get that well be great out of the box? Something I can just unpack, put it together and start printing acceptable prints. Also has to be budget friendly.

    • @MrJimmyGenocide
      @MrJimmyGenocide ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly so far it seems like a resin printer is the way to go for good stuff out of the box. Im having hell with the neo cause I'm the same way.

    • @OhReallyEh
      @OhReallyEh ปีที่แล้ว

      The Neo is great, the biggest problem I had was fixing the Z offset. There are a few videos explaining this the leveling makes the nozzle sit too high above build plate once you fix it to be closer it prints surprisingly well out of the box.

    • @TheRealSamPrentice
      @TheRealSamPrentice  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Umm not sure, do you mean the z offset? They will range from printer to printer

    • @FEBRIZIOtv
      @FEBRIZIOtv ปีที่แล้ว

      z offset is a fluctuating setting. its smart to relevel your printer when you start noticing bad first layers, and then readjust z offset. look up videos that do the paper test after autoleveling. stick paper under te nozzle, lower z offset til you can feel a decent resistance when pulling the paper.
