Also dies Genörgel (welches ich auch gelesen hatte) hat nicht wirklich was mit dir zu tun, aber es betrifft natürlich deine Arbeit auf YT, ist unfair und es kränkt, wenn man es mitbekommt. Denn wie, du richtig sagst, die Menschen, die auf ein fantastisches Angebot, eher ein Geschenk von Herzen, wie dephemerember, derart reagieren, haben selbst ein Problem, wie z. B. Neid, Frust über sich selbst usw.
Es ist so, als verschenkt man einen Blumenstrauß aus Rosen, Tulpen, Gänseblümchen und Veilchen zur freien Verfügung und der Beschenkte schaut sich ihn an und sagt: Naja, irgendwie ein Abklatsch vom letzten Strauß letztes Jahr, eigentlich geht mir dieser Blumenstrauss auch langsam auf die Nerven, weil überall spricht man nur noch über diesen Blumenstrauss. Besonders nervig ist es, weil es immer nur diese Rosen sind, aber klar, die großen, gesponserten Kanäle können sich auch die Rosen leisten. Warum bekomme ich den Strauss ausgerechnet im Dezember, das passt mir gar nicht gut in den Kram und ich finde es frustrierend, dass der Blumenstrauss so besonders schön geworden ist, denn daneben fühle ich mich dann klein und nicht schön. Das setzt mich dann unter Druck.
Aber ich glaube zum Teil liegt es an der deutschen Mentalität und ihrer Sprache, die sehr direkt und pragmatisch ist. Ich habe schon öfter gelesen, dass Amerikaner zum Teil geschockt sind, wie ruppig und unverblümt Deutsche sprechen können. Sie meinen es aber in den meisten Fällen nicht böse.
Amerikaner machen das nicht. Sie sind sehr höflich, lächeln und säuseln und wollen niemanden zu nahe treten oder bloss stellen. Das wäre ihnen dann sehr unangenehm.
Ich vermute, deswegen erlebst du die englischsprachige Kritik, als viel höflicher, was sie wahrscheinlich auch ist.
In diesem Fall gibt es aber noch einen Unterschied zwischen konstruktiver Kritik oder nur schlecht über einen reden.
Es tut mir leid, dass du diese Erfahrung machen musstest, denn du hast dein Herz ganz weit geöffnet, sehr viel von dir gegeben, völlig gratis und jemand hat mit Anlauf einfach reingetreten.
Bitte bleib so, wie du bist und denk an all die vielen, lieben Menschen aus Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz und auf der ganzen Welt, denen bewusst ist, was du leistest, was du sehr großzügig gibst und welch eine seltene, bewundernswerte Perle du bist.❤️
So this nagging (which I had also read) doesn't really have anything to do with you, but of course it affects your work on YT, it's unfair and it offends when you hear it. Because, as you rightly say, the people who react like this to a fantastic offer, rather a gift from the heart, like dephemerember, have a problem themselves, like envy, frustration with themselves, etc.
It's like giving away a bouquet of roses, tulips, daisies and violets for free and the recipient looks at it and says: Well, kind of a copy of last year's bouquet, actually this bouquet is starting to get on my nerves too, because everywhere people only talk about this bouquet. It's especially annoying because it's always just these roses, but sure, the big sponsored channels can afford the roses too. Why do I get the bouquet in December of all months, that doesn't suit me at all and I find it frustrating that the bouquet has turned out so particularly beautiful, because next to it I then feel small and not beautiful. That puts me under pressure.
But I think it's partly because of the German mentality and their language, which is very direct and pragmatic. I have often read that Americans are sometimes shocked at how gruff and blunt Germans can speak. But in most cases they don't mean any harm.
Americans don't do that. They are very polite, smile and purr and don't want to offend or embarrass anyone. That would make them very uncomfortable.
I guess that's why you experience English criticism as much more polite, which it probably is.
In this case, however, there is a difference between constructive criticism and just talking badly about someone.
I'm sorry you had to go through that experience, because you opened your heart wide, gave a lot of yourself, for free, and someone kicked you in the face.
Please stay the way you are and think of all the many lovely people from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and all over the world who are aware of what you do, what you give very generously and who think you are an admirable pearl.❤️

Junk journals are wonderful but I truly think of them as treasure journals. We are able to put the best and worst of our life into these magical books and transform it into beauty and laughter.

I have listened to your ending first because I worried that your "coming clear" was going to be something awful or terrible..... I will watch the flip through now. Before I watch I have thought of two old sayings for those who have pinned their liking or not liking your work based on the brands you use: Remember "Variety is the spice of life" --- I say this not to you, Luisa, but to those viewers. Luisa uses so many different types of mediums --- from coffee crystals to egg shells to Tim Holtz to other brands -- that is the variety that Luisa uses to express her ideas and herself. Another saying is again for your viewers, Luisa, "Whatever floats your boat". Use what you like to use, freely let Luisa use what she wants. NOW, I will go back and enjoy the flip through of your incredibly creative and very artistic journal.

I agree totally with your comment Northerner NC. my situation is not everyones. I do like Tim Holtz but I have to be careful how I spend on art supplies.
My very fixed income has no wiggle room. It's not an option for me most of the time things not just Tim Holtz supplies are expensive. So I need to be able to use it in more than one way and Luise and Barbara both show us this. Or I just play scientist and figure out my own way to create. Which I feel makes me more creative at times. Great comment. Nothing Luise said was negative in my opinion. I also have a TH-cam channel if you'd like to see how I do some things.

There is a quote I love: “Don’t let someone dim your light simply because it’s shining in their eyes.” The creative world is full of people who love you and appreciate your creativity so much. Negative people will find a problem for every solution! Write the positive comments in marble and the negative ones in sand. BTW, I have never bought anyone on TH-cam a coffee but I so appreciate your honesty and the way you talked about making a living on TH-cam that I was compelled to buy you one. Luise…. I cried watching this video. I love the idea of putting the comments that touch you into the journal. I love how humble you are. Your honesty, your emotion that you express so eloquently. Even though you apologize for your English, we get you loud and clear sister! Your creativity knows no limits. You inspire me to be brave and try new things all the time! I’m a huge fan! The word you were looking for with people giving you helpful comments even if it’s about something they don’t like is “constructive Criticism” a remark, or idea for something that doesn’t tear you down or make you feel bad. Luisa, please remember this-you communicate English better than most in my country, USA. You explain and re-explain and it is very clear. I love you as you are-plead don’t change.
I cried as you went thru your journal. Anyone who gives negative comments about what you do doesn't deserve to watch it. The way you create is very unique and a lot more interesting than a lot of other creators. You can start with a piece an unusual piece of paper that some people might just consider trash but you have such a talent that you put a splash of some sort and quickly imagine it is the start of something like a the eye, tale , body, or shape of something and immediately your artistic brain adds a few more strokes and create something magic that comes to life and we can all see it. I appreciate you use simple products and just create. Some creators have what seems like every tool invented and if I wanted to create something simular, I'd have to go out and buy a whole lot of expensive tools. You start from the basics and create riches to the eye. The things you make make me feel like I can start with just pieces and scraps and in the end turn it into gold! Well done. You have given me so much inspiration in the short while I watched you that instead of just dreaming that I have to go out and buy this and that and buy perfectly made scrapbook pages that are so expensive these days that I just watch and dream that some day I would like to do that but you give me inspiration that I can start with the things I collected or was lucky enough to find in a thrift store and I don't have to go out and spend thousands of dollars worth of products before I could make something like other creators perfect projects. I have paper, paints, a sewing machine, fabrics, scissors, glue and lots of books so why not tear them up and make my own creation like Luise does. Thank you from someone who is on a small pension and no ability to spend much extra. I can create something from my supplies just with hints from you. Thanks again.

I’ve truly felt like I’ve had a whole month of creating with a community of friends. I have loved how you & Barbara have shared your friendship & felt like you let us be a part of all the fun. I love your idea of writing comments into your journal - you have inspired me again!! Luise, this is about your Dephemerember & your beautiful journal - but I want to say that I was one of those people who did daily videos too. Even when I came down with COVID at the end, I couldn’t stop because it was just so much fun to be a part of this. I started out thinking I’d just annoy everyone doing daily videos, but I had so much fun that I couldn’t possibly stop. But like you expressed - the comments & love that I received on my little channel helped me through what is usually the most stressful month of the year - fun & full of love - but busy & lots of obligations. Exactly correct friend. No one seems to complain when someone uses Aleens, Michaels, Joannes, Art glitter glue, etc. Miserable , envious people with a chip on their shoulder can't help making ugly comments just to spread their misery. We all spread what is in our heart which is why Luise and Barbara share joyous creativity. I only wish these ugly comments didn't hurt ALL TH-cam rs who know very well how undeserved these crazy comments are but we know the shock of them is like a slap in the face. Shame on people who make ugly comments no matter how sad they are. A guideline for TH-cam and life is an old lessen all us oldies were taught, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

This was such a project for you and Barbara. It would be hard for anyone else to even come close to duplicating this experience for you and for your viewers. Right on, Luise! I like it that you said if Tim Holtz products are not for you, then don't watch my videos! I say that a lot on my channel in general. My style isn't for everyone. Yes, I am able to create other styles and that's what I do for design team content, but if I want to relax and have fun and experiment and create for me, Tim's products are my go to! By the way, you had it right. Below the belt is from a boxing term in order to protect the boxer's delicate parts, LOL! I have been a TH fan for many many years… His new stuff comes out at a rapid fire rate and I cannot keep up - so I pick and choose what I love because my wallet demands it. Louise, I am truly grateful for your authenticity. You are truly the embodiment of the term "you do you". I love that "you do you". This has been a wonderful, creative journey that can be enjoyed for years to come.
There are so many times when you say something or do something or create something and I think to myself, "I wish Luise and Barbara just lived down the street so I could just show up at your door. I would knock and you would open the door. You would know me as I have come to know you. You would get a big grin on your face and say, "Cathy, come on in! Let's craft together." Then we would laugh and giggle. I would share some of my outrageous ideas with you and you with me. We would stay up late. One idea would turn into another. Sometimes we would even have the same idea at the same time." But you are both on the other side of the world. So sadly I will not be visiting. But you visit me and that is enough for now. I have learned so much from both of you and am deeply grateful for the common bond that is shared via the internet. I am grateful that you two found each other. I know it has blessed your lives. But your friendship has blessed my life also. You encourage each other to stretch and grow and then you both encourage me to keep trying. At 70 years old, I feel like all the things I have learned are joining together like a jigsaw puzzle and creating a bigger picture of what I can be and do. I love creating new things. I know you understand. It gives me deep joy to unlock different talents that were previously hiding somewhere within. You both have somehow helped me unlock those. Thank you for everything! Your time, your endurance, your patience, your desire. Also kindness and honesty. Dephember 2022 was outstanding. I don't care what products you use, (seriously) it was just outstanding. In the US we call those “cheap shots.” As you say constructive critiques with suggestions or questions is one thing, but rudeness is never ok. You are appreciated by many many folks. You have the rare ability to think outside of the box and you talk with kindness always. I am so glad I found you and Barbara on TH-cam.
This was my first dephemerember and I would like to first acknowledge the work that you have both put into this collaboration. I have no feedback or criticisms as I think it was fantastic. Every bit of it! The work is your work and shows a particular interpretation of the daily prompts. You have assisted us with freebies and discounted products. Taught us techniques, taken us out of our comfort zones. I am really missing the series. I love the finished journals .
Oh Luise, I'm so sorry you have had negative comments. But you need to remember that every negative comment needs 999 positive comments to erase it from your mind. As humans, we are naturally more in tune with a negative response. Its just how our brains our wired. Its way to say, don't take any notice, but it burns into your soul. I know this... All I can say is that you are one of the most creative TH-camrs around. No, not one of the most popular but the algorithms are skewed towards the activities and interest of men. Sad but true, that so few men are able to embrace crafting... Imagine the scenario of a craft event at Wembley with billions around the world watching every move. Participants are paid millions. Replace crafters with footballers and you get the picture. You are up against so much, as are we all who produce craft content for TH-cam to inspire others. Put aside the negative comments. DELETE and FORGET them. You are wonderful, capable, fantastic, watchable, amazing, inspirational... and will go much further in your junk journaling career than you can now imagine. I just finished watching your flip through of 2022 Dephemereember and it was wonderful. I love how you have used your communities comments to give love and life to your journal. You and Barbara have such a wonderful love and friendship for each other and that feeling was felt throughout each of December's videos. There is always going to be a handful of people that are unhappy about their lives no matter what they do and love to be cruel to others. They are never going to change and perhaps try ignoring them and just enjoy what you create and so willingly to give of your talent to all of us that love you very much. At my age of 77 we don't usually find things that excite us to want to learn a new ideas and new art forms, but your energy and creativity have become a regular part of my life. I'm busy creating journals so please ....from the bottom of my heart continue your wonderful teaching and inspirations just as you are doing. I'm looking forward to all the great ideas in 2023. Putting the Dephemerember viewer comments in the journal is brilliant! Your English is very good and if some things come out differently I always know what you mean and never laugh but it does make me smile and smiling makes me feel good. Please don't ever stop saying "thingy" because I love it! I never understand people who criticize any artistic videos on TH-cam. If they don't like something, just move on. I don't like the "thumbs down" button either because, again, just move on. My personal style isn't quite as grungy as yours but I learn so many techniques from every one of your videos that I can apply in my own style and your printables are so versatile. Most of my supplies are Tim Holtz as well but it takes a long time to collect everything. Those who want everything they see immediately seem to be the ones who have the biggest problem with the product line. It's a collection - not a one time purchase. I remember the video when you used kneaded erasers and took a child by the hand and went on little walk to explore natural textures you could find and record. That woman is the artist I admire and subscribe to.

The children’s books that are very popular to use are called Little Golden Books. They are a style of book but have many different stories they tell. I really hope to see you do this style book ♥️

When I first discovered junk journals it was through TH-cam and as I carry on with this fantastic journey of creating, I am so thankful for all of you who create the videos, not just because I have learned so many techniques and been inspired by your ideas but because you have opened up yourselves to us as people. You have bravely shared your whole self, not just your artistic self. Yes, we marvel and learn from what you create but at the same time we have come to know Luise or Barbara or whoever, personally and in a strange and wonderful way, we feel a connection that is very much like friendship. We will never meet, you and I because here I am far away in Canada and yet here on TH-cam we come together. We create together. We laugh together. We belong together. Those who make such disparaging and negative comments have not connected. I feel sorry for them but they should not have an important place in your thoughts. We all have styles we like and ones we don't. Finding a community that has the same likes is very satisfying and inspiring! I happen to love Tim Holtz products and style. Sometimes I need ideas on other ways to use them. I watch channels that don't use his products as well. But - I like you're style, your talent, and your personality. Using Tim Holtz products is just a bonus! Also if you are teaching a technique, it's helpful to use products that are consistently good as well as available to many people. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy only certain products. It's good to have options. I will be watching you in the coming year for sure! You inspire me!!

Luise, I am a fine artist and I love Pointillism. I like drawing in pen and ink & combine watercolor & acrylics in my drawings/paintings. I’ve never made a junk journal in my life. And although I do illustrate pages in the prayer journals I use, I just want to say Thank you for your vulnerability. I’ve learned to be true to myself. Echoing Tim Holtz, as you said: “Do You.” That sentiment makes for the best art Teacher(s). The best art teachers are the ones that teach color theory, perspective, shading, & techniques etc., and then, turn you loose to create what our hearts & minds can dream up as a means of self expression. You do just that!

I was troubled to hear some viewers disagree with your choice of products. As I was showering I was thinking about how these comments brought you down. I was so into my thoughts, I turned the water off, started cleaning the shower and realized, I
failed to add the conditioner to my hair! I hope your viewers realize there is no better endorsement for a product than an honest, uncompensated endorsement. I don't have the talent to even replace the top of your distress inks, but I love what you do. Don't let the negative comments live in your head rent-free! Let's us who love you for you live in a tiny corner of your head. Over by the creativity section please!
Luise don’t ever change. You shouldn’t have to apologize for you being you! It takes a brave person to stand up to the negative people. I use a lot of Tim Holtz products also. The unique properties and excellent quality that comes along with those products stands alone in the crafting world. I sooo look forward to 2023 and everything you will create. Just keep asking yourself, “what if” and keep those wonderful ideas flowing.
I have 2 suggestions for next year’s Dephemerember. One is to craft 6 days then give, the part-time crafters like myself, a day to catch up. Second suggestion is to post still shots of your daily creations on your blog. I like to have a printed picture for reference. Again thank you for all you and Barbara do. My wish for you is continued success for 2023 and beyond!

I wasn't able to follow along this month, but I did watch in the beginning where the both of you unveiled the journals you made for each other. I've since seen photos of what other crafters have made from watching your dephemerember series and there has had been some amazing creations.
Today, when I opened up You Tube, I searched dephemerember and there are a ton of videos of you tubers I've never heard of who have followed your series. I watched a couple, and it's so cool to other artists/crafter's interpretations.
I enjoyed watching and listening to you read the comments from your viewers. Something that you said reminded of another you tuber, Edith/scrapbook with me or something like that. Her husband passed away a couple of months ago. She came online about two weeks after he died and she just needed to talk. Many of the FB groups had shared an address where to send her cards. She showed us a bunch of the cards, read some of the letters, and cried with us.
When you and other You tubers share some of your personal lives with us, the viewers, you become real, we often feel like you're talking to us directly. You share your talents, you teach us things. Reading the comments people write to you, show us you care. Thank you for what you do. Happy New Year. May you always be creative and never run out of ideas.
Fyi: search Golden books. Many people use those children's books to make jj. I've only seen a handful that were tastefully done. I would love to your take on one!

So here goes... 1) this idea of adding viewer comments just makes your very special journal even MORE special! What a beautiful idea. 2) although I had already assumed it, it was nice to hear that you aren't doing sponsored content. You didn't need to explain that to your faithful viewers, because we can spot those kind of creators immediately. We are watching you using supplies that you LOVE - you can't fake that genuine appreciation for excellent quality. You are so "you" that we would know immediately if you tried to pretend to like something that you don't. 3) your content is a gift to all of us. THANK YOU!!!

I am a spiritual teacher and spend my days trying to help people value our differences, to be kind and loving, and to look for the good. You do this in your heart and art, and I wept for joy listening to your words and the words of so many in this video. As for the negative ones, I've put so much positive energy on social media, and still, some were negative. You are right. They are just unhappy and need to be ignored. Whilst I am not aware of the debates that are going on about different products, I appreciate good quality but always go with the principal of "Use what you have". Dear Luisa, I love you and Barbara and I appreciate that both of you teach in a way that allows us to know that while we are free to take inspiration from you, we are also free to take your ideas in our own direction. This is the way your art touches us and starts ripples that eventually change the world. That's why I appreciate the Tim Holtz products so much. There is no set way to use one of his products. The possibilities for each are endless and evolve constantly and new ideas and uses are encouraged by Tim. You can see that on his You Tube Lives when he introduces products and then shows what the makers on his design team have done with them. The makes are varied and inventive and he is very appreciative of his design team members' creativity. So what, his products cost money? You're right when you say they are of dependably good quality. (And honestly, in the US the stuff really isn't that expensive and there are often sales). He's made a life for himself bringing to the marketplace products that encourage creativity. I agree that if a person has something to say they should graciously address you directly, rather than posting negative commentaries on social media. My goodness! I assumed your viewers were adults. That is a basic principle of life. If they aren’t going to you directly then they are gossips.
You are sharing your art, creativity and approach to the process in the most honest & transparent way. It’s refreshing because you encourage Freedom & personal preferances, you never impose any one product. You provide ideas & if you’re a thinking mature individual you should instinctively use any product you like. As far as I can tell you are the queen of: “Use what you have.” I agree they should find another channel. No need to make things difficult for you if they have a different opinion. Better yet, they can have their own channel. Constructive dialogue is always best. The world will always have haters.

Personally, I don’t know how anyone could ever leave you a negative comment. I’m sorry that you have to defend your use of the products that you put into your journals. One of my favorite sayings is, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all!” If someone doesn’t like what they are watching, they have the power to close the screen and move on to another video. I, however, love Tim Holtz products and love how “real” you are. So many people hide their emotions. I’m telling you, I literally cried when you became so emotional in your videos. I am a very emotional person. I don’t know if you have Hallmark commercials on TV where you live, but I cry at Hallmark commercials. There is one older commercial where a little boy gives his kindergarten teacher a hallmark card at the end of the school year and he says the her “ I’ll never forget ya!” The way he says it gets me every time.
