Favorite Valentine's Day song ever.
I was driving my Mustang in 1979 when this song came on the radio. My friend spoke up asking if I heard it before and I said No...then I burst out laughing at the lyrics along with her. I heard she died from cancer. I will always have that memory, Denise.
Are you sure it was 1979? First time I heard this song on the radio was the summer of 1980. The internet says the album was released Jan.28, 1980.

yeah back then, while albums were released when they were, top 40 radio stations always played the first (or second etc.) tracks in advance of the LP release dates. That way people could fall in love with the song(s) and then buy the albums when they came out. It was a standard practice back then. I remember hearing lots of songs on the radio before being able to buy the albums
