@lainiwakura1776 Exactly! It's honestly so strange how the MJ estate is so hesitant on releasing new music. I was like 7 or 8 when Michael Jackson died and I was so mad because I was looking forward to the possibility of getting to see him perform in my lifetime but also sussed out by the fact that his tour was called "This Is It". MJ has A LOT of songs that were never released like Get Your Weight Off of Me among others that Sony and his estate continue to hold onto. I could tell right away that the Sexy Lady wasn't sang by MJ, it sounds nothing like an actual MJ song in voice and in beat. MJ's voice is VERY versatile as heard in 2000 Watts in which he sang and spoke in his natural voice. The song sounds more like something that his nephew Jafaar, who sounds a lot like MJ, probably would've sang though obviously he was too young at the time. I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if those three songs on that album are indeed by an impersonator because of MJ's beef with Sony in 2001 that fucked him over and caused him to go broke, it wouldn't be above Sony whatsoever to do something so messed up, especially considering one of the songs literally refers to Michael in a third person which I'd think is a dead giveaway. Wild just how long it took for the actual singer to get credited, like wow lmao

Michael Did film and dance with locals in a video in the streets of Brazil! And had to get permission and pay the local drug lords for protection! 17:37 That looks like an old swedish video were they’re trying to be funny 😛 Translated into english he’s saying: ”Out on a lovely hike… Oh shit, Michael Jackson! Damn, he’s moonwalking in the woods! Shit!”
To be honest, the singer in Sexy Lady doesn't even really sound like Michael Jackson. It's a desperate attempt to sound like him, but you really couldn't fool a diehard MJ fan into believing that was him.
17:38 as a Swede i’m honoured that you used the” ja, går en liten härlig vandring hä- oh shit Michael Jackson! Jävlar, han moonwalkar ute i skogen!” clip
The backing rhythm of the song has a few telltale signs. Back in the mid 90s, the massive popularity of Swedish pop group Ace Of Base, an act associated with 90s Eurodance music, spawned a whole genre comprised of similar sounding beats (oftentimes sampling Ace Of Base drum loops directly) that was known as 90s "Ragga Pop" or "Euro Pop". It was a bubbly mid tempo reggae influenced pop style (though not strictly reggae as a genre) mainly comprised of rap verses usually by a male rapper (sometimes with an accent), and a catchy chorus sung by someone else. Many Eurodance acts like Fun Factory, DJ Bobo, Mr. President, Garcia, Dr. Alban, Vengaboys etc. made this style popular, and they filled their albums with such tracks in between their other uptempo club dance hits. Many of these acts came from Germany, as well as others being from Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, etc., and Eurodance spread and became very huge in Spain, Mexico, and other Latin American countries, including Brazil (!), also spawning new acts in those countries. Additionally, since this music was massive in the clubs, it lent itself to being remixed by DJs constantly, with one single possibly containing over a dozen remixes on it's release. And besides the more famous artists like those mentioned previously, there were many smaller more obscure groups releasing similar sounding music around that time that came a dime a dozen. So here we have German artist Joy Em releasing Sexy Lady, with a Ragga Pop beat that samples Ace Of Base drum loops, likely released during the mid 90s hey day of Eurodance, and likely trying to capitalize on the Euro Pop craze (or simply emulate a style popular in Germany at the time), and with the Euro style being very popular in Latin America, many many compilation CDs were churned out by record labels (i.e. Musart in Mexico, or Max Music in Spain), along with small obscure independent (or bootleg) labels. Brazilian group Frequência Máxima, run by Dj Maurinho, appears to be an example of one of these labels, as well as being a promotional company for party events, and are still active on Facebook. As Eurodance was (and in some ways still is) very big in Brazil, it's highly likely the song trickled into that country from Europe along with a sea of others. The other songs on Volume 18 (mostly trance, techno, club style tracks) appear to be from around 2002-2003, during which time the Ragga Pop style was still somewhat popular in some areas, although the FM compilations would include the occasional 90s throwback, which could explain how Sexy Lady ended up on it. Interestingly, Sexy Lady features a male rap singer doing the verses on the later 2004 remake, while a female sings during the song's bridge on the original version from the 90s as heard on Frequência Máxima 18. Personally, despite the strikingly similar voices, I don't feel as though the singer was trying to emulate MJ, but was rather influenced by him. As for wrongfully crediting the song to MJ, that's likely simply down to the Limewire uploader finding similarities between MJ and Joy Em's voices, or their hopes that the mp3 would be downloaded by more people if it could be passed off as an unreleased MJ song. Weird Al Yankovic was miscredited all the time on Limewire by uploaders trying to pass off inferior music parodies by other comedy acts as Weird Al. Either way, I'm happy that Joy Em finally got the recognition he deserves for his song.
What a good video, it could have been just 3 minutes talking about a song that people thought was sang by mj and then it wasn’t, it is so complete, good job
Death Row Records had a similar impersonator situation in the late 90s, early 2000s, signing a rapper known as The Realest, who sounded a lot like Tupac and on the early internet, a lot of songs by The Realest were mislabled as unreleased Tupac songs. They also signed Top Dogg who was meant to replace Snoop Dogg once he left the label even going as far as to plagiarizing one of Snoop's songs and replacing his verse in All About U with a new one by Top Dogg and released it in Tupac's Greatest Hits album
"The abuse didn't feel strange" because it didn't happen. It's sad that a failed musician's attempt to extort a family friend into a shortcut to fame has forever bound the name Michael Jackson to "child molester".
From the first listen, I could tell that the grammar of the song was off for it to have been written by a native English speaker. It sounds a lot more like Scandi- and Europop artists writing in English.
For that matter, I am reminded of "Somebody's Watching Me" which in my day was being missatributed to M.J. amongst basically all of my classmates during the time of its release. Even I myself was led to associate it with Michael just as immediately as I would have "Billie Jean". Whereas it's actually, as we all now know, performed by Rockwell (the singer, not the painter).

It makes me wonder if there is any song of, say, Hasan Dudić or Šeki Bihorac (who both are rather unknown singers from Serbia and Bosnia, respectively) who someone liked and is looking for for years. They think it's an obscure piece of media and can not find it, while I, who can actually help, sit still and don't even know about this song being a lost medium. Just like that guy or gal who found the original of this "Michael Jackson's song" just by looking for a song they heard on a random video. Leads to almost philosophical thoughts about how something so insignificant for me can be so important for someone else.
My original theory would have been it was either a demo that had the singer impersonate MJ to help give a better idea of the song or someone either leaked it or bought the song illegally to post online. There’s actually a whole community that is dedicated to doing that kind of stuff which is crazy. However the voice didn’t really sound like MJ and even the song in general didn’t sound like it would be something he would release. I’m glad we know who actually made jt

Get Your Weight Off of Me has been leaked in full, you can find it on youtube now.
Wasn’t 2000 watts just digitally pitched down though?
@@txwtw It was, Privacy isn't though.
Y’all don’t know MJ if that sounds like mj to you☠️☠️
SERIOUSLY OMG!!

Exactly 😂❤
When it played I laughed. That sounds more like the pop star from A Goofy Movie than anything… Powerline? 😂
he’s still alive, he’s hiding in the center of earth in agartha

@@rexxe001 No, it's Funny Mustache Man mysticism.
That must be where Biggie, Tupac, and Elvis are.
Really wish we could have continued seeing what else Michael would have put out if he hadn't died.
Give it time, I'm sure more content will be released (and be leaked) when the MJ biopic comes out.
He’d most likely retire, I doubt he’d continue doing music. The man was clearly running out of ideas and his creativity wasn’t as strong as it was during his prime so it’d probably just be better if he had just quit doing music.
@@txwtwwhat kind of dumb hypothesis is that? “Michael jackson running out of ideas” none of us actually heard the unreleased material after invincible, very few of those songs were leaked. So for someone who heard nothing, saying that he ran out of ideas is purely stupid.
@@blacksama7313 I wasn’t even referencing his unreleased material after Invincible, I was referencing all the released material we currently have, and I don’t know how saying he ran out of ideas is stupid because it’s clear his creativity was tax strong as it was during his prime, for example look at the Blood In The Dance Floor MV, it was just quite bland and didn’t have much to it, or the YRMW MV where he was literally just riding off of the coattails of smooth criminal with the whole gangster mafia theme, the MV was just a mix of TWYMMF, Smooth Criminal and Dangerous.
@@blacksama7313 not as strong*
17:39 I was NOT expecting a Swedish Micheal Jackson jumpscare right there, jävlar!
Haha I was outside the courthouse on the last day of his trial. I saw Germaine and Diane Sawyer interviewing Joe Jackson in a fake library with a fireplace all outdoors 😅
Whatttt?
Germaine, Jermaine's evil twin, known for his hit song "Let's Get Wacky"
I live in that town where it was. I was across the street buying a blacklight poster of a frog smoking weed hahaha
I’m happy the original singer was found. Glad it all worked out in the end, and didn’t become another tiresome search. Great video!!
OMG, the sexy lady song sounds a lot like the "mysterious girl" song by peter andre. especially the tropical instrumental and the voice.
sounds like some 90's europop like an unlockable DDR track and people thought that was michael
Michael Did film and dance with locals in a video in the streets of Brazil! And had to get permission and pay the local drug lords for protection! So it is quite possible that music was recorded while he was there as it was a very inspirational moment in time! But that song has a distinct Caribbean vibe and not at all like Brazilian music!
Thank you big boss
17:38 as a Swede i’m honoured that you used the” ja, går en liten härlig vandring hä- oh shit Michael Jackson! Jävlar, han moonwalkar ute i skogen!” clip
I guess you could say "he-he" didn't make it
I love it when Brazil shows up in random internet rabbit holes
25:57 that was my thought when I heard it. The audio quality was better, but the production quality was really rough.
Either way, I'm happy that Joy Em finally got the recognition he deserves for his song.
this video feels like an hour long video 😭
What a good video, it could have been just 3 minutes talking about a song that people thought was sang by mj and then it wasn’t, it is so complete, good job
I didn't know there were Michael Jackson sightings like there are Big Foot, skinwalkers, etc sightings.
JOY EM, M J, it's pretty clear he was, at least, inspired by him
Lol that song kinda sounds like “The sign” by act of base 😂
"The abuse didn't feel strange" because it didn't happen. It's sad that a failed musician's attempt to extort a family friend into a shortcut to fame has forever bound the name Michael Jackson to "child molester".
From the first listen, I could tell that the grammar of the song was off for it to have been written by a native English speaker. It sounds a lot more like Scandi- and Europop artists writing in English.
sexy lady doesnt sound like him at all (coming from an unaturally obsessed MJ fan...)
I agree as well and then the accusation photo part w wade and all was like 💀
How is this news so late lots of us been listening to this album since it was released. Jason has some good songs too😭😭
For that matter, I am reminded of "Somebody's Watching Me" which in my day was being missatributed to M.J. amongst basically all of my classmates during the time of its release. Even I myself was led to associate it with Michael just as immediately as I would have "Billie Jean". Whereas it's actually, as we all now know, performed by Rockwell (the singer, not the painter).
Wait I thought MJ was sort of associated with the song since didn’t he do the backing vocals?
@@txwtwYes, It features guest vocals by Michael Jackson. The op is clueless...
What’s up with the really weird and morbid thumbnail for no reason at all. Not even a spooky story
ig the idea is that mj was dead when it was put out but yeah it doesn't really fit
It's satisfying to see a mystery being solved in the same video the same mystery being discussed lmao. it's also something we don't get to see everyday XD
Joy Em - Em Joy - Em Jay - MJ. You can't fool us 😂
DJ maurinho is actually Michael Jackson in disguise.
Nice of you using Killer7 ost in the background.
Honestly imo it didn't even sound like smth mj would sing at all let alone sound like him but it's interesting to think that maybe it was someone he was connected to.
Wasn't expecting MJ content from here, very neat. Huge fan of him as well!
New sub earned. Rip Michael legend ❤

Anyone who knows music can hear that’s not MJs vocal lol. It’s crazy some people can’t hear it. It’s no mystery lol. Wish he woulda finished “If you don’t love me”demo
The obituary video style and the singing makes me think it’s a Filipino guy
OH GOD how did I forget the best part!! My best friends grandma is friends with MJ's aunt!! 🤣And I SMOKED A BOWL NEXT TO HER 🌱She was all "😊We used to call him Applehead" "Why?" "I dunno..he just told us to.."
He donated a Spider-Man 3 themed car to his cousin and i would see it driving aaall the time.
Bro aint there no fucking way. I got into Lostwave too late to actually dwelve into the search, but I distinctly remember hearing this song on the radio in the early 2010s in Quebec, me and my friends used to sing it in class due to how it was one of those « memeatic » songs we would hear on the radio, never knew what it was called, but its insane that I learned just now that it was Lostwave. I literally remember hearing it all the time on the radio during the summer. Crazy
So weird nobody did search for sexy lady before the guy who found it
There were obvious reasons why. 😅
His or not the song goes kinda hard ngl

The instrumentation and flow of the song really reminds of Ace of Base for some reason, just an interesting thought, glad the creator of the song was finally found so they could be attributed to it.
Fans Already confirmed that Malachi is the singer of those Fake Songs by comparing voice of Real Michael With Malachi to vocals from those songs
Fue un gusto el haber encontrado la canción 😊
when i heaed the snippet i was trying to think of what it rly reminded me of and then you mentioned mysterious girl. theres gotta some of the same people involved its too similar

as a MJ fan, i immediately clicked on this
So they call you goose Boose cause people gets goose bumps while watching or looking at your other thumbnails

That’s def not him. EXCEPTIONAL sound alike, but that’s not Michael’s voice

I don't think he sounds similar at all tbh
@@oldpcuser3136It's similar enough to people who don't have an MJ album glued to their ear 24/7.
Oh man it felt like a journey watching it I can't imagine what everybody had to experience in order to reach the climax of this search.
Maybe he called himself Joy Em because he got joy out of singing like M?
I would have just went on twitch started blasting this song and see who takes the livestream down
I thought about Mysterious Girl when i heard this song.
Growing up as a Muslim, I've heard claims that he recorded an Islamic song called "Give Thanks to Allah" and it's kept a secret.
Maybe the real Sexy Lady were the friends we made along the way
Please use quotation marks. 🤦♂️
not only fake MJ song, search "Nightfall Lover"
It sounds like somebody trying to sing like MJ, but having trouble doing so.
It doesn't take much intelligence to know that it's not Michael.
I’m glad we know who actually made jt
that is so crazy! like, the RS that the DJ maurinho lives, is called Rio Grande do Sul, and is where i am! i was born and created here, and knowing this is so crazy
Apparently it by someone called Joy-em
Joy Em - Sexy Lady (2009)
Yep
What’s ironic is that this “lost Michael Jackson” song was that it was solved on April Fools Day.
Very interesting video.
It would be nice to discover more of the songs that Michael Jackson produced, but never released. Some songs, like Al Capone, were presented in 2012 and they were excellent. I do hope they will do the same thing that they did for Prince and present more new content from his vault in the years to come.
Thank you for your video.
By the way, anyone who wants to know more information about Michael can consult the podcasts called "Michael Jackson Case for Innocence", "Red Jackson Dance", "The Mjcast", and the documentaries "Square One MJ", "The Lies of Leaving Neverland”, “Michael Jackson Private Home Movies”, “Michael Jackson Take Two The Footage You Were Never Meant to See”, “Michael Jackson The Humanitarian” and “Loving Neverland”. These sources of information are precious and rich in facts that the medias (especially in the UK) refuse to adequately present on him.
I'm glad you've done your research well! MJ is innocent!

17:37 yesss, this is my favorite video ever
Im a huge mj fan, i’ve listened to all his songs countless times, and the moment i heard it i was like “well that just doesnt sound like him or a song he would make to begin with” seriously listen to his songs and in no era of his career would he have used an accompaniment (i believe thats the word sorry lol) like that in his songs. The voice also just sounds like someone ATTEMPTING to sound like michael. Not actually him. And dont get me wrong hes had plenty of sexual songs its just i dont think he would call the song itself something like “sexy lady” thats just too blatant. One of his most sexual songs “in the closet” has a name that could be about a number of things. Sorry for ranting im just passionate lol
This reminds me on how MJ ‘fans’ still think the Casio tapes are still Michael singing on there.
If you’re a true fan, you would know for a fact that it’s not him singing. Surely, you’ve got too much wax in your ears.
