This was a better option than in my kia forte5. I was fortunate enough to have experience with a dremel. The tweeter mounts in the dash you have to carefully pry apart the glued items and use a dremel to shape it to fit your tweeter mount. A great future for you to make these parts for aftermarket use. Same for custom panels. You could sell them online.
I used 1/8 inch plastic and some heat to make my own brackets for my 21 elantra. It was a pain but definitely doable if you don't have a Laser or 3D printer. Makes me think maybe I need a 3D printer😂. Great video as always Mark.
I just flush mounted my original MB quart tweeters in same place that I had the outside mount in. Tweeters sounded much more airy and highs just sounded better with the outside mount that came with speakers. Now the highs sound closed off, no air and space around the highs. With the outside mount the tweeter is gently held in place almost floating in the mount. The flush mounts have the metal bracket attached to back of tweeter like a spring against door panel. Only thing that sounds better is vocals now with flush mounting. They sounded harsh and like they ringing or resonating with outside mount. I guess bc they where not deadened as much floating in that outside mount.
The amount of continued education one must-have now days to be an aftermarket audio installer seems like you could go straight into rocket science... Your dedication is admirable and opposed to just keeping such education for yourself and to charge a lot for said wisdom and know how....you share this with others. I'm an old school installer who didn't continue his education and as such...my brain seems to have missed out on some cool stuff...but the price of some of the tools and or equipment have priced me out of the hobby/lifestyle.... I probanly would have just fabricated a bracket using some abs plastic or wood and covered that in dark vinyl or felt so that IF the light shining through an open crevice on the dash would show something that was not "factory" ....this would be addressed.. Love the channel and I can appreciate some of the new technology that allows one to make something "fit" without the car being there ...as well as having to not have to "fix" a mistake that could have or maybe not be avoided as some of the ways cars are put together weren't designed to be messed with by someone not authorized by thw manufacturers for fear of warranty voids....
I was always wondering why adtermaket tweeters are not standardized like the the woofers in the door. So like there you would just need to by the right bracket and bolt everything together.
have you done much with grabbing dash contours to import to what ever 3d software to 3d print pods or such for dash speakers? as opposed to using fiberglass?
Unrelated question. What would an average cost to install four JL10's custom box and an amp? I know all shops and states are different, parts as well. The vehicle is a 2024 gmc Sierra 2500 crew cab. I have the new refreshed dash and stereo. Would it be a good idea to get a new radio? Is there one that fits? Under back seat installation
Mark you may have explained but do you have a way to carefully explain all the crossover types in a dsp ? Like Butterworth and linkwitz-riley. I always had trouble setting up my slopes. Sorry purchasing an rta is too expensive of an option. I do the old school tape measure method lol.
What can you make for a 95 camaro? I'm getting some c1 components soon and not sure where to install the tweeters. Can't really find blank pods for a 3/4 inch tweeter either 😢
how long did the final print take? just looking at things would it not be faster to print the brackets solid, then just drill your holes where you need them for the mounting cup by hand? also, have you noticed the need for those nutserts? as opposed to just tapping the 3d print material, it looks decently thick. also, can you do a vid of the entire design process in 360? does 360 have slicing in it or do you use another program to slice?
Always happy to watch and be the first to comment. From SA , hope to use these learnings to sort out the previous experience i had labelled on your channel😞
This level of expertise is second to none! Exceptionally well done video.

Always enjoy watching your videos. Your clear explanatiin and reasoning is unmatched!!!
I appreciate that! Thanks for tuning in.
I'd love to see a video of your personal vehicles system

Man I wish I had a workshop like this.
Great Job Mark!

Bout to go to pick n pull grab a couple sail panels learn to modify the fitment for future aftermarket tweeters
Great video as always! How about an updated shop tour, order of operations, etc? Thanks!
PLA?
PETG?
ABS?
Nice Job , I love it !!!
Can you offer to make these for customers?
I would love a set for a 2010 cr-v I'm working on!
What kind of gasketing material are you using at the end of the video?

I’d love to buy these mounts, I’m doing a speaker replace on a 23 Elantra hybrid! Interested in purchasing!
Message me via my website, can make you some!
Will do, you rock!@@CarAudioFabrication

HMMMM, cam you make me some sail panels for audio frog GB10s? on a 23 Tacoma????
Quick question can I use a dsp to integrate into my 2014 Cadillac CTS OEM radio or would I need something like the pac audio or navtv
Have you looks at any of the 3d scanner apps for your phone? I know you've used the handheld scanner but many phones have built in lidar capability.

I want to know could I run 2 w6 speakers on a 1 ch 1000w 2 ohm amp all jL audio
Or a heat gun and some abs and a step bit.
I’ve watched your videos for years I would love to see a Toyota Camry build If possible
How much do you think you’ve invested into your 3D printing set up
Sadly the odds I also have an 21 Elantra were very very high but the odds my budget was similar were very very low
Say a car never came with proper tweeter spots. How could I go about it?
Daihatsu Sirion 2018 as reference.
What if you don’t have a 3D printer, can you use wood?
Excellent content.
Can the new 3d printed material withstand high high heat now? For example you park your car for a couple of hours on a 100 degrees day.
ABS is fine. Though it is toxic when printed with.
Why we don't use ribbon tweeters in cars, is it bad or anything else?
Nice tutorial like it ❤❤❤
Definitely don't want hot glue anywhere near my tweeter .
Always happy to watch and be the first to comment. From SA , hope to use these learnings to sort out the previous experience i had labelled on your channel😞
Definitely could’ve used this video sooner instead of paying $300 for someone else to install custom panels for my tweeters
cool !
Print with PETG-CF 100% infill and you’ll never go back??
im in the UK and even the son here melts hot glue so its no good
I just use TEC7
Reason 700 to buy myself...I mean my 9 year old a 3d printer.
😳🤯
