thank you for a great no nonsense review, and for clarifying that the bobcat is indeed a great pistol, but is fussy regarding ammo and the importance of discovering that before one becomes reliant on any firearm.
Both Federal Punch 22lr and CCI Stinger 22lr use a case that is longer than industry standard for 22lr. That's why the Beretta 21A with it's very short slide travel and tight tolerances has issues ejecting those particular rounds.
We're lucky here in Colorado where the Murdoch's Ranch & Home chain stocks Federal Punch in large amounts cheap! ($9/box). It's the primary load in our tiny EDC's (Her Ruger LCR 22lr and my Ruger LCP2 22lr). Runs flawlessly in my Ruger semi-auto. Thanks for the great video, sir!

@@andrewallason4530 Already watch it. He has slightly better luck than I normally have with 22. As he would say, based on my personal experiences, 22 has a failure rate of about 1 in 100. I've shot 200 rounds with no issues but I've also shot 50 rounds with multiple failures. So 1% IMHO is a fair estimate. With centerfire I "might" have a light strike in 2000 rounds. So if you we're rolling dice would you want a 1% failure or a .05% failure?
@@andrewallason4530 Have you ever heard someone say you're lucky. If it were a fraction of an inch more it would have been game over? That fraction is width and penetration. The diameter of a bullet and the depth matter. If you only have the chance to get one good hit do you want it with a 22 or a 9mm. It may appear that that small difference is insignificant but 1 mm in a direction could me the difference of clipping a vital or having little effect. A 22 out of a pistol loses a good deal of power btw. If we are talking rifles, the 22 gap is even more significant. A 223 eclipses a 22. The only reason anyone should consider 22 for defense is that's all you have or you have a physical problem that prevents it.
Thanks for a very informative review. There is no need for the Federal Punch ammo. It is marketed to sell it at a higher price than regular high velocity ammo with no apparent advantage. The Stingers ran flawlessly through the Beretta 21A but the Punch did not. The Stingers might be cheaper too. The CCI Mini-Mags are definitely cheaper and more reliable than the Punch in the 21A. The Velocitors through the Beretta 21A would make for an interesting comparison but they too are more expensive and harder to find than the CCI Mini-Mags. Are the Stingers and Velocitors worth the extra money compared to CCI Mini-Mags in the 21A? All three run reliably through my 21A so it comes down to personal preference. The Punch is too unreliable to feed consistently through the 21A so it would not be my choice for defensive carry.
I see a LOT of folks hating on .22 LR for self defense. It actually fits the bill when you have a small person who is somewhat intimidated by firearms to begin with and NEEDS to carry. If you do a little research you will discover that .22 LR was the round of choice by Mafia hit men and government assassins alike. It's all about bullet placement. Better choice IMO than .25 auto. Good Vid.
.25 is useless. Only possible benefit is rimless case. If you are able to load a magazine properly, no issue. Availability, cost, performance of ammo far better. Will take .22 any day over the .25. I’d consider a Kalibri over a .25. A pointed stick, even. Watching ‘The Man From Uncle’ episodes, in the closing credits is a still picture of NS and IK being ‘terrorized’ by a babe holding a little .25 auto. Looks like a novelty cigarette lighter.
its 97 and humid as hell in Alabama!! federal punch is what I carry in my phoenix arms HP22A (i modded the pistol & I am saving up for another) An update I now carry a glock but I now am looking at 38 Specials, I've always wanted one. Nice snub nose would be inconspicuous and easy to carry when I'm working at the liquor store
Thanks for sharing. One of my back-up revolvers is loaded with CCI Stingers, basically because they seem to perform well consistently & are usually available (recently, that is).
I got the same results through my wife's Beretta Bobcat. I'm thinking a little polishing might help, but haven't done it yet. The Ruger SR22 and Mk II 22/45 gobble it right up without a problem. The SR22 eats everything, though and doesn't care.
The best advice you gave was that you should practice with the self defense ammo you intend to carry. Walther P-22 (CA Version) can shoot Aguila 40 grain Hollow Point all day. Load the same pistol with the Punch and I was getting failures to eject. Changed out the Volquartsen extractor and had to change back to the factory extractor. CCI Mini Mags worked fine with either extractor. So for self defense ammo for my 2021 vintage Walther, the Aguila 40 grain HP is the 100% reliable one and the loudest report for a .22 round. Enlightening that the Bobcat would not cycle the Aguila and stuttered with the Punch. While I enjoyed the Ruger 10-22 sequence, the Punch is designed for the pistol. Still, wasn't that sequence nice to see how the Punch was right on target in the hills from the Ruger 10-22. If I had to use the Walther .22 for self defense (it is so concealable and light) I would have to be sure it would fire AND cycle. Your MK II is a classic semi-auto. Very helpful video.
Most of the time I try to stay away from hollow point 22 because I don't see the point when you're shooting milk jugs it's okay but give me at least a 40 grain bullets when it comes to self defense I like to have two holes leaking if possible.
Thanks again! You are saving me time and money, sir. I just watched and commented on your CCI Stinger video. Now I don't have to go out mess with those ammos. I will just buy more mini mags.
Mornin Mix. Love me some Mark series pistols. I'm still hoping one day we will get to hear more about your background and work. I bet you have some interesting stories to tell.
Another fine video, Mix. The Punch runs well in my 21A Bobcat, but requires a clean chamber and adequate lubrication. My Walther TPH, which is notorious for being ammo-finicky, also likes it.
Hello Harold. I am surprised that your Bobcat runs well with the Punch ammo. I cleaned and lubed all of the firearms before making this video and they all did well except for the Bobcat. My Bobcat is flawless with Stinger, Silveritp, CCI and Golden Bullet.
I was going to say that the Punch case may be longer than others, but you said the Bobcat ran the Stingers, and I know the case is longer on the Stingers so that's not it.
My Brother bought a few boxes of the Federal Punch 22 and we had tons of failures in every gun we tried it in. M&P 22 Compact, Taurus TX22, Bersa Thunder 22 & a Walther P22. We had much better luck with the Winchester Silvertip 22 although in a defensive situation I would probably use CCI Stinger.
I had the same problem with my beretta 21a, I put around 25 rounds and had many failure to feed issues- the gun is reliable, but the federal punch ammo is too fast and doesn't build enough pressure to cycle reliably. However, I tried the other 25 rounds on my old Walther PP 22lr and the ammo was 100% reliable.
I have shot quite a bit of the Punch in TX 22, S&W 15-22 and Buckmark. I have had no feed issues but did have 1 FTF. I tried the round twice and still FTF. The feed problem with the Bobcat may be because of the longer case on the Punch it is longer like the Stinger case. Great video sir.
My Bobcat is finicky. It doesnt mean the ammo is bad necessarily but the federal punch does not run through my Bobcat very well at all. Side note, My bobcat will feed Aquila ammo very well. In fact, mine is loaded with it as we speak. I havent tested the punch in my HD or 10-22 yet.
Thanks for detailed video (and for being out in the heat). I just purchased a Bobcat and dealer did not have any info on best ammo. I appreciate your comparisons.
Hello Neil. Remington Golden Bullet is the most reliable ammo that I found for my Bobcat and it is all that I shoot through it. Thanks for the nice comment and I also thank you for watching my video.
I’ve done extensive testing on my channel with federal punch from rifles. It offers a nice blend of penetration and damage when fired from 16” to 18” barrels. I also tested it from 24” barrel rifle and 3” barrel pistol. I enjoyed this video but will say I prefer punch 22 LR as a carbine round.
The Beretta (I have the Taurus made to replicate it) doesn't like any ammo that has those edges on the lead. It catches the magazine. I bought a 500ct box of hollow point Remington and had the same issues. I had to open up the magazine a little bit and then they fire perfectly no hangups . So the problem is in the magazine. Not the pistol.
I used to wear my Bobcat in an ankle holster, but found that most ammunition would be problematic. I was very happy to see you fire yours with good results, and name the brands it likes. I will try them out. Sometimes it's just not practical to carry that Combat Commander, and I would really like to carry the Bobcat, but not until I find ammo that is reliable. Thanks for posting. This episode made me a subscriber!
Hello Doug. You can almost never go wrong with CCI rimfire ammo and I'm willing to bet that it will work in your Bobcat. I want to thank you for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel and I look forward to reading your future comments.
I bought the Federal Punch last year from Federal $9.99 per box ! As I use .22 WMR also I picked up some of that $19.95 !! Well that’s the way it is for prices when you can find it ! Now back to the Federal Punch .22 ! I like it so far , groups tighter out of my Ruger single six than my 617 ! Ruger 77/22 it groups well with no flyers ! Do I carry it on days for my EDC ?yes I do! Good test! You did well !
Compare the Punch ammo to other .22lr ammo. They have a much longer case, just like Stingers. I'll bet that is why your Bobcat did not like them. The longer case is needed to accommodate more powder to get the higher velocity.
I like your theory about the longer cases but I have shot Stinger ammo in my Bobcat without any problems. Maybe the lighter Punch bullet has something to do with it.
@@mixup98 I think the flat nosed bullet is the feeding problem with the Beretta. A flatnose contacts the feed ramp sooner and lower than would a bullet with a round nose ogive. Short compact pistols often have shorter steeper inclined feed ramps.
How can more gunpowder fit if the bullet base is in the same position relative to the cartridge base? Further, it will still need to be within the oal specification for the cartridge.
Great stuff, as usual. Rimfire can be finicky in any firearm, it's great to see ammo fired from different options to get an idea of how reliable it is. 👍
you sold me on the Federal Punch ammo, great review on this sir!...I sometimes have the same problem your Beretta did, hotter ammo kicks the slide faster through its action, not enough time to get the m/t case clear, slide comes back faster and binds it. I blamed excessive gun lub, and dirty slide grooves, nope the ole Blazers get cycled so to make John Browning smile and Stingers or Aguila run hot and catch that case like a center fielder!.... thanks for the great video! D.
My Beretta Bobcat .22 LR ( Manufactured 90s blued with wood grips ) LOVES Remington yellow jacket in viper conical shape bullets.. not one jam or stoppage with the yellow jackets/ vipers
In Brazil, most aligators and even jaguars are hunted with 22LR on the brain! With bulet broof vests so common, one bullet between the eyes is guaranteed to stop cold !
The barrel length on the semi auto is not measured the same as the wheel gun. The wheel gun will actually have the length of barrel measured while the semi-auto is a combination of barrel and chamber.
Thanks, saved me some money. Like yours, my Bobcat is picky about ammo types, but very reliable once I find the right ammo. Usually it likes high speed truncated cone copper washed bullets. It tends to jam with target load waxed plain round nose lead .22.
i converted my three to MK II frames... no mag disconnect, fewer parts... a ting strut support makes takedown and reassembly easy.. i added a Volquartsen DLC bolt, and it just wipes clean
Another great video sir! I've had a few issues with Federal Punch in my Ruger .22 and my Phoenix .22. I think I've still got a half a box laying around in my desk somewhere. It's always interesting to see how certain guns like certain ammo and on others they nearly destroy them. Keep up the great work!
Well hell.....Just when I had my sights, so to speak, set on an entirely different caliber and type of firearm I see a road trip in my near future (061322) to an area gun store where I hope the Ruger 10/22 takedown I fondled a few days ago will still be available for sale. And while I'm there, I might as well buy the Ruger Single Six that's been gathering dust in one of their handgun cases for over a year now.
I recently sold my Bobcat...Too many misfires of one sort or another. When the slide blew off,,That was it..Could not trust the little gun...I really like the design but I need every shot to go bang...
I know this isn't anything particularly of importance when choosing which ammo to use, but that Federal Punch sounded awesome when fired out of the 10/22. It just sounded really cool to me.
I tried the Armscor 22 LR 36 grain HP on my Ruger Mark III pistol. Never experienced a jam so far and very accurate. It might work on yours. I have a Lorcin also but it's a 25 caliber, not a 22 LR.

Excellent video as always, I sure miss having a place to go shooting can't stand going to the range. Last time I went shooting in Nevada was at the black rock north of reno cool place.
I’ve found if you wipe the casings of the punch rounds with some tw-25b grease and swab the chamber with a little grease it runs them like a champ. Keep it clean and it serves its purpose.
Just for general interest? have owned a fired various 22 semi auto pistols a long time, have 2 ruger mk 2's now and fire them regularly, can break them down and clean them, what would you recommend I use to clean and lube them with now? Thanks. be careful Peace. Rick
@@wichitarick G-96 gun treatment and tw-25b grease that’s all that I run. The FBI along with Canadian Mounties run G-96 for cold weather firearms. The US military uses tw-25b for the m134 and other systems. Good enough for me!!
I also have the Baretta Bobcat. I certainly haven't fired all of the .22lr available. But, the only one that I have found that doesn't give me any problems is the CCI ammo. The Remington ammo I had would jam after every round.
My wife bob cat did not like the punch ammo it stove pipe miss fire would not feed. Good to see you your bobcat don't like the punch ammo eater. Very nice video
Man was that shit cheap. I've shot pallets of 22 just wish I saved it all instead of letting the local 4h boys shoot it up, but glad the younger generation got into plinking
That was a long time ago compared to today's prices. I never plinked a lot. Tried to make every shot count kinda mindset. Still have some of that decades old .22 with the price tags on it (& 30-06). Took my 2 youngest to the range a few days ago. Left the .22 at home. Took the compact 9mm, compact .40 S&W, full sized 9mm, .45 acp 1911, 357 revolver, and the Glock 40 in 10mm. In maybe a little over an hour, blew threw $220. It was very educational as they experinced the different styles, triggers, weights, lengths of pull/ pistol and various effects with bullet types & manufacturers. But I remember standing on the bank, or edge of a corn field at 9 years old for hours loving every minute and maybe spending 10-20 cents.
There are some great upgrades for the 10/22, extended mag release, auto bolt release, and a lot of different styles of pression bolts & levers. For the take down, mag lock makes a stock that locks both stock and barrel together for easier packing. Also has storage for 3 mags or a 50 round box & 1 mag, and has two different cheek rests.
I have used CCI Mini-mag hollow points exclusively in my old Ruger 10/22 since the late 70's. NEVER had a malfunction. I have a newer Ruger 10/22 takedown and use CCI stingers exclusively in it...also, never a malfunction (7 yrs. old now). I also have a Ruger Mark ll and use CCI Mini-mags in it...also, never a malfunction (bought in 82). Is it the ammo, the quality of the firearm, or both? Actually, I don't care. I get the accuracy and dependability with what I use, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Yes same on the ruger mk 2 at least traded a mk 1 for the mk 2 have another mk 2 made about the same time is stainless with a bull barrel , realizing just how far out of the loop I am in so much, never thought of using other ammo ? that was the higher priced ammo then :). I said something because agree like so many of my working tools "If it ain't broke why fix it" :) be careful thanks. Peace. Rick
@@wichitarick I still use my Mark ll but last year, I traded a Ruger LCR to my son after he had bought an old Ruger Standard (some call it the Mark 1) After breaking it down and giving it a thorough cleaning, it resides in my tack room at the barn for a quick "go to" for unwanted critters. It's been weaned on CCI Mini-Mags and works just as well as all my other Rugers. Just as accurate and dependable.
Good review. That Punch is pricey! It's meant as a premium grade ammo for carry and self-defense. Froom what I have seen it does fragment consistently, as designed.
I was shocked when my S&W 22 Compact didn’t like the Fed Punch and it had never failed me before with a wide variety of ammo. I would have suspected a bad batch but my P17 ate it up. I do like the results of this ammo through a snubby revolver so I may just use it for that.
The lighter bullet of the punch probably works well with the lighter slide of the keltec that would be my guess anyway but try the 60grain sub sonic sniper by aguilla the short case and heavy bullet made it crazy reliable and remember to keep the chamber clean as 60 or so rounds are enough to gum up the works
I’ve been seeing this ammo for 9mm a few places online and was curious about it. Might have to get a box and try it out! Hadn’t seen this in 22, good to know it exists. Thanks for the review!
I picked up the NAA .22LR with the folding handle a month ago. After several reviews on the revolver and Punch ammo, I got a couple of boxes of the Punch and ran some through the NAA. It shoots well in it and accurate at up to 15 yards with the help of the folding handle, which gives me a full 3 finger grip. I found out that you don't use the front notch as a sight. Just sight down the barrel , like you do with a shotgun and the revolver will hit on target. I carry the NAA .22LR on occasion when I don't have a pocket that will allow me to carry my Ruger LCP Max. The Punch ammo in .22 LR is impressive.
Had almost the exact same results with my Bobcat: didn't like the Punch but shoots MiniMags wonderfully! Guess it will be my MkII, revolvers and longer barrels for the Punch from now on...?
After watching this video, I decided to try .22 Punch in my 21A Inox. Same exact failure results you got with the Punch ammo. The 21As don't seem to like Punch, but love CCI mini-mags, velocitors, and tactical.
I was going to try the Punch in my Beretta 21 but after watching your video I decided to pass. BTW My 21 likes Stingers and just about everything I feed it. @@mixup98
@@mixup98it is absolutely the light bullet that it doesn’t like it needs significant weight up front to make it work …get some aguilla..I know you said it hates it but get the 60 grain the short case makes the extraction with no extractor super smooth and keep your chamber clean (it’s a self defense gun so 60 or so rounds is enough to make it unreliable) use some clp and I promise you will have a reliable little belly gun
The case of the punch s longer than CCI, and that seems to cause extraction issues with some pistols, such as my lcp2 in 22LR The Glock 44 I traded it for as no problems with it
The Punch didn't work reliably through my Ruger MkIII Standard Pistol. That gun works with everything else. I think I'll try them in my 1022. I really think Stingers are probably a better choice for me. Thanks for all you great videos.
Thank you for making this video. Of course I always want you to shoot .22 ammo reviews out of the TX22 since that's the only 22 pistol I own. I will wait to see a review on that before buying any. Most you tubers wont because they will be proven wrong how well the TX22 out does their prima donna .22s that cost way more and have failures that the TX22 does not. Mines Suppressed all the time only time i have issues is my own doing when its dirty from alot of Suppressed shooting.
I had thought about shooting my TX22 in this video but now I wish I had. I have several other .22 firearms that I can review with this Punch ammo and if I make another video I will make sure my TX22 is in it.
Same. Finicky guns need 40 grain bullets rated at 1200 fps, preferably round nose copper jackets. You might get better performance from specialized lighter bullets with different bullet shapes etc, but reliability may not be there. And if you are considering anything as a defense round, reliability is king.

I've got the same MKii and really like it too. Another good down to earth video that helps everyone out. Thanks alot for educating us all.
Great video as usual sir! Love watching you shoot! Im really liking the 22 punch so far! 👍
I really like your chrono display setup. It films well and I wish other TH-camrs would follow your lead on that.
Nice demo of 22 caliber ammo fired in various mechanisms.
Thanks for the awesome comment CactusBaboon !!
Government assassin? 🤔
@@omarjason1255 CIA etc.
its 97 and humid as hell in Alabama!! federal punch is what I carry in my phoenix arms HP22A (i modded the pistol & I am saving up for another)
An update I now carry a glock but I now am looking at 38 Specials, I've always wanted one. Nice snub nose would be inconspicuous and easy to carry when I'm working at the liquor store
How well or poorly did the punch work in your Phoneix Arms HP22? I used to have one of those and it ate everything I put through it.
Thanks for sharing. One of my back-up revolvers is loaded with CCI Stingers, basically because they seem to perform well consistently & are usually available (recently, that is).
You can't go wrong with Stinger ammo in a revolver!
Hello Doug. I love it when I can save my viewers time and money. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my videos.....much appreciated.
Mornin Mix. Love me some Mark series pistols.
I'm still hoping one day we will get to hear more about your background and work. I bet you have some interesting stories to tell.
Really wish he’d write a book!
I haven’t shot the punch in my 21a yet, but I have bought quite a few boxes of it even though it’s pricey.
Please let us know if the Punch ammo works in your 21a once you shoot it.
Thanks man, you just made up my mind between the Bobcat and a Ruger LCP II.
Awesome thank you for testing this!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
You bet!
10/22 take down is one of my favorite guns of all time! I really like the stock on yours. Good stuff guys. Rock on!
Nice to hear you still shooting. Love your videos.
I so remember $1.99 a box for .22 LR any brand but wages were also very low in those years.
Thank you Norman 👍😎
Fun review! Thanks! My stainless bobcat is fussy with ammo too. I have an older blue model and it is far less picky.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge..I got a BobCat and haven't shot it that much...
@@barbarasteed3966 you will love your Bobcat!
How can more gunpowder fit if the bullet base is in the same position relative to the cartridge base?
Further, it will still need to be within the oal specification for the cartridge.
Just bought some for my Bobcat , you are correct. Punch fails to eject every round. Tried other 22 rounds with no problems.
Bobcat is a finicky little cat. I have one and CCI is its best run. Mini mags and blazer both work great.
Hello Doug....thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my video. Have a great Sunday my friend.
@@mixup98 you bet my friend...
My Beretta Bobcat .22 LR
( Manufactured 90s blued with wood grips ) LOVES Remington yellow jacket in viper conical shape bullets.. not one jam or stoppage with the yellow jackets/ vipers
I love saving my viewers money and I thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my video.
Nice Ruger MKII, probably more fun to shoot than to clean. LOL. Great variety of .22LR platforms. Thanks so much mixup98. Keep hydrated out there sir.
Yes, the ruger pistols are a pain in the ass to clean...
i converted my three to MK II frames... no mag disconnect, fewer parts... a ting strut support makes takedown and reassembly easy.. i added a Volquartsen DLC bolt, and it just wipes clean
This guy would be the best grandpa!
Thanks Stan!
Hell Yes,this is my Show,Thanks Pops and Son.So Glad you beemed in Too😁
Another great video sir!
I’ve only ran federal automatch ammo through my bobcat so far. It’s been 100% reliable.
I have a 10" mkii and it has never failed to run anything as long as it's supersonic.
Great video as always, Mixup I have a PPK/S in .22lr and I primarily use mini- mags and Stingers with no problem.
Thanks for the info. I would love to review a Walther PPK/S .22 pistol someday.
👍😎
Another great, informative, entertaining vid as always.👍
Thanks again Kevin!
I have a Lorcin L22 that is a Jam-O-Matic with anything but Remington Yellow Jacket 22. Those it runs flawlessly.
I tried the Armscor 22 LR 36 grain HP on my Ruger Mark III pistol. Never experienced a jam so far and very accurate. It might work on yours. I have a Lorcin also but it's a 25 caliber, not a 22 LR.
Another informative video!! Thanks for the sweat put into keeping us informed and entertained!
Do you have a Patreon channel?
Are you on public land, or is this your ranch land? How cool to have some place like this to shoot in “beautiful southern Nevada “!
Excellent video as always, I sure miss having a place to go shooting can't stand going to the range. Last time I went shooting in Nevada was at the black rock north of reno cool place.
Right? Something feels off about going to the range, like pooping in public.
I’ve found if you wipe the casings of the punch rounds with some tw-25b grease and swab the chamber with a little grease it runs them like a champ. Keep it clean and it serves its purpose.
I’m running a beretta 21a inox in 22lr
👍😊 I’ll stay with CCI.
I'm with ya bro. CCI has always been my go to and honestly can't think of a time that it's not performed or functioned for me.
I have never tried federal punch in my Ruger mark series. But standard federal ammunition jams up a lot in my Ruger’s. Even the 1022
My wife bob cat did not like the punch ammo it stove pipe miss fire would not feed. Good to see you your bobcat don't like the punch ammo eater. Very nice video
Thanks for the feedback Trashamn 👍
Yeah my Bobcat likes CCI and did ok with Golden Bullets till it got dirty. If I recall correctly it did not like Stingers.
Your Beretta includes the chamber in barrel length, so it might actually be very close to that 2" rifled length listed on the Federal box.
I carry punch ammo in my charter arms 3 1/2 in pathfinder shoots great I carry it daily .
I can remember going to K mart and picking up a brick of 500 .22 for less than $5
Man was that shit cheap. I've shot pallets of 22 just wish I saved it all instead of letting the local 4h boys shoot it up, but glad the younger generation got into plinking
I think you'd get more than that weighing the lead and brass in these days.
Still have some that is marked $4.47 per brick of 500
Mega upvotes !!
Seems like punch would be good for a NAA mini revolver. Good video.
Hey thanks for that review, now I know not to bother buying anymore punch 22. Great comparison between it and CCI stinger’s, guess CCI is still king!
CCI stingers were my defensive load for my old Walther P22. Hopefully, the federal punch will be available here. Nice video Mixup!
Thanks Eduardo...
CCI all day.
CCI minimags
I use Mini Mags with my semiautomatics but it’s performance decreases dramatically out of a 2” barrel so I use Stingers or Velocitor’s.
The Punch is fine I’m my Beretta 92fs/M9 22LR. Looks like the Bobcat needs the heavier bullet, not just the velocity.
Thank you for confirming my test results. Please let me know if you ever try Remington Golden Bullet in your 21A.
I was going to try the Punch in my Beretta 21 but after watching your video I decided to pass. BTW My 21 likes Stingers and just about everything I feed it. @@mixup98
I love Remington golden bullet next to CCI they are the best. I use them in my Bobcat and ruger 1022 And a lot cheaper.
@@andrewstraub131 I will try the 60 grain Aguila in my Bobcat and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion Andrew.
The stinger ammo was always my hunting round for small game. Groundhogs at 75-100 yds was not a problem. Usually a one shot kill.
29 grain is very light. I've noticed that some semiautos have issues with light .22 rounds
OHOH, I have Federal Punch loaded in my Ruger SR22 and have not fired it yet. I will tonight to make sure it functions.
The case of the punch s longer than CCI, and that seems to cause extraction issues with some pistols, such as my lcp2 in 22LR
The Glock 44 I traded it for as no problems with it
The Punch didn't work reliably through my Ruger MkIII Standard Pistol. That gun works with everything else. I think I'll try them in my 1022. I really think Stingers are probably a better choice for me. Thanks for all you great videos.
Really enjoyed the video
awesome channel , so do you hae a story behind the channels name mixup98 ? thanks again Alan Thomas
Thank you for making this video. Of course I always want you to shoot .22 ammo reviews out of the TX22 since that's the only 22 pistol I own. I will wait to see a review on that before buying any. I have put every kind of 22LR through my Taurus and it has liked it all. I would love to have the faster velocity of the Punch, but I'm not going to buy any - even if I could find any - until I watch a bunch going through the Taurus. Great video as usual, thank you!
My Bobcat seems to like the CCI too. The Bobcat is a great little ankle pistol.
I always had better luck of the 40 grain bullets, had more trouble with the lighter bullets in automatics.
Same. Finicky guns need 40 grain bullets rated at 1200 fps, preferably round nose copper jackets. You might get better performance from specialized lighter bullets with different bullet shapes etc, but reliability may not be there. And if you are considering anything as a defense round, reliability is king.
