🫡 Great video sir. Gotta love that Ruger 1022. I’m 68 years old and bought my Ruger from Kmart when I was 18. I have since passed it on to my oldest son and I’m sure he will get another 50 years out of it. Stay safe and healthy out there.🇺🇸
I'm 76 and still have all my guns and still add to collection. My son can have mine when I'm dead, but may have a fight with his sister and she is the better shot.
I just wanted to say that I bought my Marlin 30-30 336 C if I'm correct back in 1978 in a store called Woolco and I bought a box of ammo and I paid a total of $110. I also bought it when I was 18 years old and the store was closing going out of business. I don't remember buying any firearms at Kmart but Sears and Montgomery wards I did. Unfortunately I did not buy my Ruger 10/22 maybe about 2010 or so.
CCI and Ferderal have been basically the same company for a while now. Now that they have been sold to Kinetic, CCI, Federal, Remington , and HEVI-SHOT are all under the same company.
@@michaellavaughnrobinson Also bought over $1000 or more worth and then more still have a lot even though I also bought before every summer 15K of CCI mini mags for the kids to shoot up. What did you do.
Yeah, back in late 70's my local small town hardware store sold 500 round bricks of Remington Thunderbolts - 40gr LRN, for $7.79+ tax. I generally picked up a brick every Friday evening or Saturday morning. It was normally gone by Sunday evening.
I just want to say "Thank you so much" for your willingness to suffer so greatly all the way out in the desert just for us. I'm deeply appreciative of your efforts. If there is anything I can do to assist you out there let me know. Until then I'll keep watching and commenting.
In last two years I have had 3 batches of these Federal 36 gr hp that were weak and many failure to fire. Had my first squib with them. Switched to Aguila and no more issues.
It's indoors, the one nearest me is about an eight minute drive. Also Houston winters tend to be mild, with a few exceptions, esp since I'm on the southern side. We get your Nevada summer heat, but not your Nevada winter cold.
I have several .22 magnum firearms and I think I will pick up a bottle of the magnum ammo and do a review on it. Thanks for the inspiration and the compliment.
Thanks for your revuue. I have used Federal exclusively for several years and have a 5 shot revolver and a Ruber Mark IV. Very reliable ammo and at a reasonable cost. Cannot ask for better.
In sunny Florida right now as usual East Tennessee. practical and reliable…. Love the videos been watching you since you were out. Keep the hard work going.
It never fails, it happens in sports, guns and anything else. When we hear an announcer say "this pitcher has never given up a home run against a left handed hitter", sure enough the next lefty he faces will get a home run. Lol, it feels like that's what always happens. As soon as we say, (2:33) "I don't think I've ever had a single malfunction with this" (Browning in this case) that's the day it has an issue. Whether or not it's the ammo's fault or a magazine issue, that's always the day the firearm doesn't operate flawlessly. Like you said, "that happens with .22 ammo". The Ruger is the go to rifle for most people when it comes to .22's, but the Taurus TX22 has become my favorite rimfire pistol.
Super great fun video. You are truly blessed to be able to go out and shoot your firearms like that. Your son missed a fun day I'm sure. Many thumbs up.
I am so glad you stayed with your roots on shooting random stuff out in the desert. I have been watching you shoot bottles and cans for years. I have some of this BYOB in 22WMR, seems to be OK. 22WMR always seems to have better quality though.
Great reviews, 👍. I remember a few years back, this was the only available at local supply store and i had other federal.22 LR ammo ( hollow points, match, etc.) So. I bought two of those bottles, and they worked well, in a Savage 64, and Ruger LCR.22 . Great stuff for target and All around use, targets.
Good stuff. I need to go through some of my hoard … I mean ammo. :-) Seriously. The old price tags I see on my boxes make me feel old. I DID have my 3 roof vent “boots” replaced & paid w/ .380 ammo I never use anymore. HA! Win for me I guess. *Good video! Keep up the good work!
Well now this was a interesting video and you have some very interesting 22LR semi-auto pistols and rifle. You have got to like the Taurus 22LR pistol line up. They make a very good offering now that are extremely reliable and accurate. I personally owned the Taurus tx22 competition and the Taurus tx22 Toro and they have surved me very well with no problems. Years ago I did own a Browning buck Mark And it was definitely a good shooter. Never caused me any problems.
Boss picked these up not realizing they were hollowpoints. We use a single shot 22 to put down beef and hogs at the butcher shop i work at so we never ended up using them. Hollowpoints tend to expand before penetrating beef and hog skulls. Good to know this stuff is functional though
Yessir, I like those Federal BYOB's, I use them mostly in and for my bolt action rifles,..i.e. savage Mark II, and Tikka T1x. Like you said Mixup, great "plinking ammo.".
I too have seen that bottle in a few places. Never did give it much thought, but now I will pick up one or 2 of them test for myself! Looks like Monday will be quail hunting for me! Living my best La Vida Loca here in southeastern Arizona
@donnyarmstrong9559 I've used Federal hollow points that came in either a 350 or 500 round blue box last year, I believe these are the same rounds. I went through two boxes with a few duds, I'd say it's good ammo.
300K, WOO-HOO, well-deservered IMO! I'm a big fan of Remington's bucket b/c they always have it at Walmart for about 6 cents a round and it's very reliable. I'm always on the lookout for cheap 22lr that isn't Aguila or Armscor (both give me a lot of trouble through my SA Heritage revolvers, Remington doesn't). If its anything like Federal's shotgun ammo, I'm all in!
Yes indeed, 300k subscribers and almost 89 million views. Life is good. I just might buy a bucket of Remington ammo and do a review on it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Years ago Federal made some cheaper bulk packaged ammo that came in a container like a half gallon milk carton. We tried some my wife was using a revolver and a round didn't sound right to her. We unloaded took the cylinder out and found a bullet halfway down the barrel. We've been picky about ammo ever since.
Looks like you got creamed on that last shot.... badabump. Thanks for another fun vid Mixup. Good review on that ammo. Looks like its a good buy for economy stuff for sure.
The worst handgun that I ever owned was a Browning Buckmark. It had all kinds of malfunctions. I took it back to the store where they fired it and concurred that it has a lot of issues. Funny you should mention the Model 41, which is an awesome .22 pistol. I bought one brand new in 1981 and I still have it and I've been thinking about doing another review on it. I can't tell you how many thousands of rounds I have fired through mine.
@@mixup98 Thanks for the speedy reply. Been using the WMR stuff for years with no issues in 5 firearms. Great accuracy and extremely reliable. I did a review and velocity test last year on Federal Champion ammo which came in the blue cardboard box instead of the plastic bottle. Here is that review showing the velocity of this ammo: th-cam.com/video/F0ES2zYu5Cg/w-d-xo.html
I think you may have a dirty mag with your Browning or maybe a weak mag spring since it seemed like it had problems with the last round. Looks like the ammo is pretty good though for bulk ammo.

It’s funny because my Ruger Mark IV doesn’t like this ammo as well. So when your buckmark didn’t cycle it well that was very comforting.
