      There is a feta alternative called Feto (brand is Taifun). It is made from soy beans (seems like a kind of tofu to me). I press it a little, cut it into cubes, fry it in a pan on high heat until it is all golden. I swear it tastes like chicken 😁 I love to put some of it on my green salad together with some seeds or nuts. Maybe you can find something similar?

    • @BOSHTV
      @BOSHTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      try rinsing it first to get the canned water / taste off it, then pat dry before you use it. And if you roast it with spices you get rid of the acidy flavour. Hope that helps!

      @@SarahM-lw2gd I need to do more research myself ...but most beans nuts seeds grains we are suposed to soak before consuming to help our digestion and for most things o don't believe u are suposed to drink or eat the soaking liquid and yes most canned beans lots of sodium to my knowledge

    • @SarahM-lw2gd
      @SarahM-lw2gd 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@erinbiggerstaff601 that makes sense. I thought that if sodium was the only issue, then I could boil my own beans from dry and use that liquid, which would have less sodium than the canned liquid. But it would still not be good for digestion. Thanks for commenting😁

    I have to say that I am a little disappointed that you have had so much seitan in your recipes lately. As some who must be gluten free it is disappointing as there is such a focus on it ib prepared foods. If I am taking the time to research cookinh for myself I want it to be something I can actually eat.

      Organic banana peels are great for a substitute in recipes, but make sure you scrape off the White part of the peel or it will have the banana taste.
      The banana peel has more potassium than the banana.
