Beware, I blew my headgasket on my SRT with 68K miles, and it took out the entire top end and all the bottom end internals. Good luck to you with that motor, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!!

Yeah I have a few head gaskets fail on me over the years with this engine.

Do you know anyone that can do a PCM tune for an all motor PT Cruiser fully built?

10:48 Whats that tool? Where do I get one?
22:13 Use a hard drive magnet from a dead drive.
34:50 The word i think is Deformity
FANTASTIC VIDEO! Perfect syncing of the audio and video. Lighting could be better in small parts but overall? I am quite impressed.

Thanks, and the tool is from DCR called cam locks or install tool.

I think it is much more practical to just snag an engine from a turbo PT from a junk yard or something. They are not too expensive, and is definitely much cheaper long term since the engine is already designed for boost.

It would be if I was only running 20 pounds of boost. I don't know if I explained this in the video but I'm dropping down to 8.5 compression raito, still higher than a stock srt4 but hoping it will help with some lag and lower rpm with a bigger turbo.

Imk what parts you use, I have a list for mine, but I would be building it for 350whp

I should just make a video with a parts list but they are always changing. I run a MPX head that has the upgraded springs, over sized valves, chamber opened up and ported intake and exhuast. Brian Crower stage 2 cames, DCR lash adjusters, oil restrictor in the head, MPX cam gears. Lower engine I will be running JE pistons and crower rods, clevite H series bearings, arp rod bolts, DCR direct fit crank staps and windage plate, and I have billet oil pump gears. I'm only going to be running a big wheel turbo to start but the engine is being built for a much bigger turbo. Aiming for 400hp this year but finel goal for this engine is 800hp.

Water was probably getting into the top end of your engine on the cam lobes from not using any ultra black gasket maker rtv along with your intake valve cover gasket. I find it funny though you have a turbo with the N/A valve cover, not that it matters. Also, did you upgrade your pistons or connecting rods? I am guessing you have the titanium valve springs. Also, what stage is this head again on the porting? I am guessing you also have larger intake and exhaust valves from what I remember on your other channel.
Edit: I guess it was your old engine that I was wondering about on the pistons and connecting rods.

I taped into the wrong coolant port so what I think was happing the turbo was getting positive coolant feed from both the intake of the out take for the coolant and believed it was boiling the coolant and evaporating. honesty I like the red as it comes off better on tear down. This was stock bottom end, the head is fully built. I have titanium valves, retainers and I forget what springs. N ot sure on the stage it is ported though and the valves are oversized, 2mm on exhaust and 1mm on intake.

What's up man, I have a neon srt4 engine on the stand that I'd like to build. I mechanic around but have never rebuilt an engine. I like your style. Would you be willing to advise/help me with my build?

Hey man, I actually started getting around to building mine. Been building for everyone but mine lol. Have the series coming out soon of the build

Who cares if it's a GT Cruiser and not an SRT-4? Certainly the Neon can be made faster, but if a person is willing to do the work the Cruiser can get awfully fast too.

I'm with you there, wish more people would see the car like this. Its just a whole lot easier to say it has an srt4 motor than a built 2.4 with a turbo which is basically a srt4. Also a side note mine is a touring cruiser

    • @rooh5825
      @rooh5825 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@thatptracecar2148 - the touring cruiser is detuned quite a bit more than the GT is with respect to the SRT-4. It's the exact same motor though, the problem with upping the HP is that the suspension of the GT is considerably more stout. IN fact there are SRT4 owners who have switched the knuckles out with the GT because they are stronger.

@@agcd2196 No sir these ecu's are locked and the only way to do any basic tune is a piggyback system but that only allows to add fuel and pull timing.
