make sure you update the DX9 I have a DX9 as my back up radio and I had to update it first to get FP to show. And you must be using a receiver that supports FP also.

Clear as mud. Just what does all this DO? Why do I need to forward program anything?

This is only for those who want to use features in a Spektrum Programable receivers like SAFE and AS3X or wind GYRO and manipulate those settings, otherwise your right this is not for you.

I do forward programming on my Radiomaster tx16s

i do i have to download software to get forward programing on I have the same transmitter but its not on my screen?

The receiver your using must also be equipped with it and bound to the transmitter.
