    I just upgraded to this transmitter and this is an excellent crash course on its features. It’s pretty amazing how powerful this radio is and how many features it has. I think for 90% of the pilots out there this radio will accommodate all their needs.
    Thanks for the great content.

    Great review! Another cool feature is short cut getting to model menu. On main screen, push the clear and back button at the same time and that takes you straight to model list. Saves from having to go to system setup menu then to model select.

      I have tested many transmitters till now but I feel that this one was moulded around my hands. And like you said I love how can I slow down the flap travel. Since then I dont use any mixing with elevator. And it is so simple to use once you get to know it. The only thing that I dont like is the price of the recievers. If you buy one or two it is OK. But I have bought arround 30 pieces and that is a lot of money. But like I said, the best transmitter ever. Stay well Rich and cant wait for your next review. Cheers, Robert

      Pilot Robert. You must try the Hitec Aurora 9. It is life changing. Though not as modern (fancy flap-menus for example), the ease of setup and general feel is amazing. The receivers are also much cheaper than Spektrum equivalent. I recently switched from Spektrum to Hitec.

      Hey Peter. Thanks for the tip. I was looking at that transmitter. I have at home I few other transmitters from different manufacturers but his DX9 is just perfect in my hand. The grip is perfect. I dint even use a neck strap with this baby.I have about 30 recievers for this baby and I have just bought the new ORANGE for test. If that will work I will be able to get recievers for a resonable price. But thanks again for your comment. Who knows, maybe I will buy one for the test. Stay well and greetings from Slovenia, Pilot Robert

      I had seven or eight of the OrangeRX receivers for spektrum, and they worked just as fine as the originals with regards to reception. The new V2s even support RSSI feedback, which as absolutely awesome :)

    March 2020! Just saying... I'm buying this because of this video. And I haven't even received my first (in about 30 years) RC plane, a Carbon Cub S2+, but it'll be here Tuesday! Got the RTF version but want flaps at some point and like everything I get involved in...I know I'll dive in feet first and go full tilt so I'm confident because of this video, this DX9 Black will serve me well for my fixed wing acquisitions over the next couple-a-few years. The simple but functional DXe coming with the CC S2+ will be adequate to get me in the air short term but being a FAA GA pilot, I completely get the necessity for the extras and enjoy the added complexity. This will be a hell of a lot cheaper than what it costs to keep the prop spinning on a time-killing, fun flight in the Cessna.
    I'm a bit amazed on where this hobby has gone nowadays as back in my earlier days when I was flying sailplanes, you bought an expensive 72 MHz radio for each plane and then spent months building and hoped you didn't stuff it!! Maybe a build will be in my future but not before I go through some BNF or maybe ARF inventory. Great detailed video. None of it was lost on me and really enlightened me on the detail oriented aspects of Tx set-up. Thanks!

    A really good review. I have had a DX8 for a few years and I think the DX9 is a worthwhile upgrade with Telemetry, Voice Alerts, better battery life and the extra slider controls. The ergonomics, menus etc look the same which is important so I can just buy and fly, no need to worry about unfamiliar controls.

Folks at my club here in Maine, and the one in Florida, have had too many "brown outs" with the Spectrum radios. If you have purchased a Horizon E-Flite BNF Foamey, then get a used cheap Spectrum Transmitter on Ebay. If you have an expensive airplane to fly, be smart and safe and buy a Futaba Air Transmitter ! @@RCINFORMER I disagree. The Futaba Air Transmitters are more user friendly without all the cumbersome navigation and the included graphic hype. I too have been using Futaba all my life, and I had, after the big sale pitch from my LHS Owner at the time, switched over to Spectrum five years ago until last week. For me, and that's including my decades of experience including other folks in the know who are not Futaba Snobs, both agree that the Futaba System is built better, has better on site Quality Control, is more reliable and has a better Factor Of Safety. Futaba also has a clean Track Record in regards to in the field Brown outs. Yes, they were late to the 2.4 game but they were careful with the technology and tested it extensively where they were able to incorporate into their own system after the bugs were finally worked out,( I.e., the same bugs Spectrum has not caught up too at this point )..... If you have a big investment in large scale Aircraft, Fly Futaba.

      Ok. What about the Spectrum loosing signals thing I hear about on the forums? Is that not true or a problem with older model Spectrums?

    • @scragbyterc1059
      @scragbyterc1059 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And also how do the two compare as far as range.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ScragbyteRC i have never had a problem with range. With airplanes, I never fly farther that I can see it.

      @RCINFORMER  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ScragbyteRC I have heard a few things regarding older SPEKTRUMS. However I am only flying the newer DSMX stuff & have not had ANY signal loss issues. I use ugh DX7 & DX9 on all my new demo models.

    I was thinking of buying an DX9 BUT when I look at spektrumrc.com I saw that DX9 was on "Discontinued radios" and on "Current radios" ??????
    And 3 times I have tryed to get an answer why? But spektrumrc.com DONT answer.
    So why buy anything from this bad company ?
    Here on TH-cam I get one answer....."gen 3" not from Spektrum.com.
    The radio seems good, but how do you know what radio you pay for ?
    An old or new? There not seems to be any easy way to find out. ....And it seems very bad that them use the same namn and looks on several other radios as well.
    But why cant them answer an easy question?
    Is the company that small?
    For me this question only show that you not can buy from them.
    Is spektrumrc.com a bad company? Big "WARNING!" Or ????

    if your planes going to one side as you taxi out you didnt set it up right clealry the nose wheels not stright

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be a main gear wheel that is not aligned with the longitudinal axis of the airplane, thus pulling the airplane to one side.

    • @zackriden79
      @zackriden79 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCINFORMER wrong ? if its pulling ot a side then it's not aligned stright and pure fact that he said nose wheel and idepent trim means flying a jet so VARY LITTEL TORUE AND P FACTOR i have never even heard of anyone triming nose wheels

      Those can be a pain... from time to time i need to tighten those as well.... they need to include a special tool for that.

      All you have to do is get the Allen key that came with your TX and place the height on the knobs where you want them and then tighten the screen down! That's it and it will stay there until you change your mind.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      rcflyertim he was referring to the toggle switches with the rotating screw ring around it that often loosen up and then your switch actually rotates sometimes... keeping those tight can be a pain if they get loose

    • @RCINFORMER

      You must first activate the flaps and add the FLAP SYSTEM selection to the list..... TO DO THIS: Go into the SYSTEM SETUP menu, Then select the AIRCRAFT TYPE selection in the menu..... Then select the TYPE of wing you have on your plane with the type of flap system you have..... After you back out of this menu to the main screen FUNCTION LIST menu list, you will now see the FLAP SYSTEM menu selection in the list:)
