Love your weekly updates! Excited about the Tesla & Uber Week 4 Recap and getting answers to those burning questions. We sent you an email, please take a look.
Glad to see you are testing the market before you by. When you look at the down payment monthly payment and insurance i think its worth seeing how much you can pull in during your slow time in your area. Wonder if you can buy the car from them. Im sure they will want to sell it at a certain amount of miles. Would be nice to pick up a model Y that you know a renter didnt drive into the ground. You would know exactly how it was taken care of.
DING DING DING!!! SOMEONE FINALLY GETS MY WHY LOL!!! I have so many comments complaining about why am I renting instead of buying but disregard when I explain it to them HAHAHA.
if you can make the payments and still have your walking around money during it's slowest month you will have no issues when it picks back up in a month or two. Love this series cause I started doing rideshare in November mainly thanks to Red and you guys I wanted to try it out and I love doing it and have wanted to rent out a tesla through drive whip in the future.
It is slower than usual for sure and i seem to be doing ok so yes, I should do better if and when it picks back up. That's the other point that IF I can cover my costs NOW then my purchase will be easier on me in the future but some people don't see it that way HAHA. Gig Wars for life!!!!
Vinny that's a deep dive into the box. Lol. Keep that XT6 at home and put the miles on that rental. The Tesla is preferred. IMO. When I go to the airport I get pings right away.
I think in your area the Tesla works fine for you. However, in the Delaware market, I've read some articles about the batteries freezing for the last few days. We have 8 inches of snow and it's about 15°. I don't think the electric vehicle is ideal.
A Tesla Model Y long range 4 wheel drive is an excellent car for colder climbs. If you can fit a home charger, charge while, you sleep. Set the onboard timer to pre heat the car for your selected departure time in the morning. Fit Cross Climate tires from Michelin and enjoy the stability and security of 4x4 drive which is one of the safest cars ever tested. The heated steering wheel & seats are toasty warm right from the minute you get into the car. Check out National, State and local EV tax credits too.
That I can't answer but @TheDrivenDad drives in Colorado bd I don't think he has had many issues with cold weather, I could be wrong. We are going to get the Rideshare Garage Tesla Edition going by weeks end and will discuss all those issues as well. Hang in there @lamontjackson6922 I know you have been having a rough time up there!!!
May I ask you what strategy we should use as riders to not be declined on a ride in Ft Lauderdale? We will be there in 3 weeks for a ride from an airport hotel to the cruise terminal. (it's a Saturday morning on a cruise ship day). Our hotel is suggesting we use their 3rd party transfer....and they added that we should not call a cab because of long waits. We prefer uber or lyft anyway. I realize a lot of people will be going from the ship to the airport that morning between 8 and 10am. Seems to me it would be a great turnaround to pick up at an airport hotel and go back to the terminal. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.
Please understand, there is no correct answer to your question. Such a tough spot as the apps have cut the rates for drivers so drivers are very hesitant to take shorter trips especially considering the wait time at the entrance to Port Everglades. Depending on the size of your traveling group, IF you want to use Uber or Lyft then select a higher platform, XL or above, and that might get the driver who accepts to complete the trip. I don't think they purposely accept trips just to cancel them as its a waste of time to do that alone. This is just my opinion, means nothing but most times its on the apps with the UFP regardless of what the rider is paying (not the riders fault) that has drivers frustrated. Have a great cruise!!
The push up idea is f cking gold!!!! As a full time Uber/Lyft driver I have unfortunately gained weight ( who would of thought it huh lol ) and absolutely hate it!!! So I’m definitely gonna start doing this. Thanks for that…. You my friend have just started a whole entire wave😂
EXACTLY!!!! I've been saying this for months hahaha. The further they want me to go pick up, the less drivers in the area. The more trip radars that pop up, the MORE drivers in the area. LFG!!!
Yes...a lot of negativity from drivers lately, but understandable...as you commented. How much do you think you are averaging per ACTIVE hour driving each week? $40-$50? I love this new show. Thank you for all your time & comments. Invaluable.
I just don’t get it…. Your numbers for the week 48 hours for $1254 = $26.13 an hour for drive time. Then take away cost of renting and charging. Has to be $12-$15 dollars an hour you’re making. To each their own.
I do run 2 phones and I'll always take the best ride available, shut the other app off while doing it to save drive time and NOT SEE if something better comes along LOL.
Bro face look a 100 years old im in austin tourist town with these immigrants and pay cuts it dont make sense bro literally working for mcdonalds and chic filet money i dod uber lyft all tuem for 7 uears anyone still in that game is a sucker
I pay direct through the Tesla app because Im renting with Drivewhip now. When I had the Hertz rental, I had to pay thru Hertz and im sure Hertz is adding a fee to it.
about 40 to 50% yes for now. As I figure out the best times for these types of rides Im taking, working whatever strategy I think will work it should get better. Also with the lower platforms like comfort, I need to take more trips which is the exact opposite of what I do when I drive my SUV. I can say though, Im making the same money as with my SUV but I've saved about $300 on fuel so that's a plus. Once I purchase then I'll save even more but it's a process that I am going thru to figure it out.
So I rent my Tesla from a company called DriveWhip which allows me to drive for all the gig apps, not just Uber. www.drivewhip.com/rideshare/ They offer different types of vehicles so check and see if they are in your area. Tell them VinnyKuzz sent ya!!
Let me talk to you about Prius. I earned $2751 last week on a Prius. I’m making more than Tesla drivers. My monthly payment on my car is $ 356 so it’s win win situation for me.
Its was about a week when I first signed up so not sure why you haven't heard from them, I dont have any connection other than the rental. I'd keep shooting them emails LOL.
I’m in the same boat it’s been like four weeks for me and they haven’t reached out. I also emailed them several times. I guess they don’t have any cars available? I am in south Florida area
Agreed but im not wasting miles on my XT6 at this time, its an experiment to see how it goes. My pivot is down so we have to try this while I can. I will not drive my XT6 on lower platforms at all LOL.
You’re losing $1,000 every month you rent that Tesla instead of buying one. I get interest rates are high, but you’d be paying an extra $100 a month on interest, as opposed to the extra $1,000 you’re spending for the rental.
When you rent a Tesla, you don’t have to pay for the wear and tear. Most of these Teslas once they had 100,000 the battery is toast then you’re looking at 20 grand for a new battery that’s why you have to be a lunatic to buy these pieces of shit cars that got ranked most unreliable vehicle by consumers report their junk
@@VinnyKuzz That’s not true get yourself a Toyota Camry or Corolla that they will go 500,000 miles which just brakes and oil changes if you get yourself a Tesla you might think you’re making money but once you hit $100,000 and have to put a $25,000 battery in there that’s where it will all go. Gas powered car transmission goes up couple thousand dollars engine rebuild a couple thousand dollars electric vehicle will bankrupt you. They’ve already been studies find the TH-cam videos.
Im confused as to why uber is giving you comfort, but the comfort rixes im getting which os not as many. All are becoming $1 per mile or less, for COMFORT!!. Is uber fukin with me or what??
In order to drive Lyftt Blk, you will need the Model Y,S or X. The model 3 qualifies for Uber premier if that's in you area. Yes, the exterior must be Black.
I'm in San Diego and I drive Uber X. I only drive on Friday and Saturday nights and that is if I don't have other things going on. I normally drive about 5 to 6 hours a night. I normally make about $115 to $130 a night. I have found the area that is good for me, money wise. Like you, I also check the amount per ride and the miles that I will need to drive. If I don't like the details, I deny.

I agree plus the "app" factor about wanting more EV's on the road for their benefit, gov't subsidies etc. The rabbithole can go deeper!!!

I feel you, Vinny, me and Willy used to do push-ups every day when we used to be surfing buddies. It works.
Back to basics, back to "Army training sir!" (Bill Murray voice).
Vinny, do you still not entered in the keypad?
Here in Palm Springs that’s about every other community I go to.
