    Hi Vinny. I'm in the Vegas market with my Model Y exactly like yours. I try to charge at the cheapest rate as possible. Thankfully we have some chargers even at peak times with reasonable pricing.
    I find it that if you're paying 30+ cents a KWH it doesn't make sense.
    When I started in May, we were able to charge at 11 cents. Today I had to charge at 24 cents which isn't too bad. I do miss the below 20 cents times. They change and raise/lower pricing every few weeks. It's crazy.
    Also, you'll get questioned to death about the charging etc.
    Its slow in Vegas. I try doing comfort and up but have to suck it up and do it with X.

    • @VinnyKuzz
      @VinnyKuzz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, that seems to be the #1 question as everyone wants to know about charging. I'm finding that even with a peak charge, I'm still coming out better than if I were filling with fuel. My biggest test is timing the charging so I'm not losing out during peak driving times. Also, comfort has become my bread and butter down here for now. Amazing how different markets can be so hang in there!!

    • @k3iler05
      @k3iler05 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @VinnyKuzz We don't get many comfort rides unless you're at the strip (and premier is slow). If premier is good I stick to that with comfort electric.
      Since I got really cheap charging (20-80% for $5-$6) now I'm paying around $10-$13 per charge which is still pretty good. Just letting you know if I had to pay $20, is doable but it starts to hurt, especially on long rides (25-32 miles) you can easily eat 10-15% charge.. So it doesn't make too much sense.
      Its fun figuring all of this out lol.
      Keep making these vids. I learn a lot

    • @VinnyKuzz

  • @MarioMateo
    @MarioMateo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Yup. Finding the cheap charging times is crucial. Now, sometimes, it doesn’t make sense. I’m not gonna drive far away to save 10 cents a kilowatt. And sometimes, you’re low, and you gotta charge at the nearest station, no matter what price. But, I can tell you this, since the charger by my house in South Miami went down to 16 cents a kilowatt after 12am, I’ve been saving $20-$30 on my weekly rental costs with hertz. It adds up!

    I have a Model Y and a Lincoln Navigator. I think the Model Y ride is very smooth...not as plush as the Lincoln (of course) but very nice.
    Put it in "chill" mode for steering and acceleration and get accustomed to 1-pedal driving so that you're not "herky-jerky" and people will drop the "it's a stiff ride" complaint. I've given 1,000+ rides in my Model Y and nobody has ever said anything about ride comfort.

    So I’m right here in Jacksonville Florida the way that you do things I really appreciate it so do you think that it would be best that I go ahead and try to test loud and see how things work I do have a question when it shows that the weekly pay is 330 something dollars do you have to include the 200 deposit which equals up to 500 on the day of pick up

    • @VinnyKuzz
      @VinnyKuzz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thx, I appreciate the support!!
      My rental/lease is $499/week, my first week was a total of $699 w/deposit. Its expensive for sure BUT it gives me the most options for driving with ALL the platforms. The Uber rental only allows you to drive for Uber, which forces you into a box.
      I've been saying for months that the pivot is down from the upper platforms because they are reducing payouts for us and even though its reduced down in the middle tiers, we can still make money IF we work smarter.

  • @davidlowell5647
    @davidlowell5647 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Since upfront pricing, shorter rides pay more than (older) time and distance pay while longer rides pay less.
    For Miami market;
    $40 an hour is unrealistic for comfort driver.
    Say you get constant rides, back to back at average of 35 mph you may get low $30 per hour but unlikely.
    Same goes for Premier and XL drivers. Over $40 per hour (online hours) is highly unlikely.
    Been there, did that for a month with Tesla rental.
    Btw, Comfort only pay pennies more than X. May as well do X and Premier rides with your rental.

    • @VinnyKuzz
      @VinnyKuzz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Actually, comfort rides haven't been that bad and around the $30 to $40 range but remember we are talking "active" hour time not necessarily actual online time, Same for Premier/Blk with an average of $45 to $60. When you did the rental, it was many months ago plus you were learning for the rest of us. We will see how it plays out as its only been 2 weeks, the real test will come down the road.

      Yes, they are but at this time interest rates are still too high and I want to be sure it's a vehicle I want to keep regardless of the rideshare apps. Too many time, people will buy a car or truck for Uber and wind up in a bad situation if things don't work out on the apps so we have to be sure. The thing also I think why passengers cancel their Premier when they get a M3 is because the drivers that do rent them don’t have a sense in keeping the car clean and tidy. I’ve picked up one passenger and said that the M3s he’d get in are dirty, and the driver doesn’t speak English too. They know Uber rents them out, and you know how the majority of renters treat their rental, without a care. There was one time I pulled up to a M3 renter while charging, and it reeked of marijuana.
    The 3 and the Y are very similar in experience with the Y of course with a little more room. But more often than not the Y is OWNED by the driver and therefore has a pride in ownership. You don’t get the standard milage deduction of 65 cents because it’s not your car, major drawback of renting. I think you’d be able to write off the money you spend on charging/car washes though? Not sure

    the market in SF Bay Area has been flooded with Tesla's after uber's $3000 off a Tesla y. They are lyft black as well. Your market will be flooded soon after more and more ytubers do vids like this.

    • @VinnyKuzz
      @VinnyKuzz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That could be the case but these tesla' are still pretty expensive plus interest rates. With that said, California has the additional tax incentives that Florida does not plus Uber/Lyft are under that mandate to get so many miles from EV's on their books.
      As for my video's and market, people are going to do what's best for them as I am here. I only offer my experience so others can make smart decisions for themselves. The content would be here either way, if not me then countless others. Appreciate the comment!!

    It should be a requirement for anyone driving an EV to take at few math courses so you all at least know what all those numbers mean.
    $0.4+ per kWhr. Woopie de doo! You're not using gas! Yeah but what does it mean, really. How much is all that comfort costing you, as opposed to the offset of renting a Prius. Yes, I know, Teslas are prettier. But if you're pulling all those hours ride sharing, I'm assuming money is very important, right?

    • @VinnyKuzz
      @VinnyKuzz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Math is truth, numbers don't lie. With that said, the Prius ONLY gets tier 1 rides where as the Tesla Y is giving me Tier 1 plus comfort and Premier, Lyft Blk rides. That's a big difference in earnings potential vs a Prius. As far as kW hour vs gas, so far my fuel cost is down over 50% vs earnings so the numbers work (as of now).

      I just typed out a response and my internet went out LOL so lets try this again.
      There is a big difference between online hours vs active hours, this is always the big debate. Online is where we would like to be at 'x' amount but the reality is we only make money with AIS (ass in seats). My online avg in the low $22ish range but i haven't done the math on the active time yet, I want to get a third week in. Tips are huge for drivers, we know this but we also know that most drivers don't gross 1k/week in any other job. Its tough but we have to be honest about it. Thx for the comment, appreciate it!

We were also getting a dollar a mile minimum and also a Dollar a minute I do eight appointments today. Opportunities scheduled rides in some cases but to teach someone to go out and then $500 a week to make $1000.
