Yes, my quoted above is at the tire. Work was done at The Vic Shop in IA, which is as good as it gets! I do like the way the Chieftain handles though. It does make are Vics feel like log wagons. I just need the Chieftain to be high reving with higher horsepower. When they do that, I’ll upgrade to the Indian Chieftain.
Only time will tell if this motor delivers in the real world. Wishing them the best, but will be watching feedback from early adopters before even thinking about a change...👍
You nailed bro it’s in the scout line as a water cooled performance cruiser. The fairing and a lot of other style points are similar to the victory cross country but certainly not a copy. Looking forward to 10/29 and in Aus god knows when we’ll get to see it in the flesh.
I know someone who is "in the know" who informed me that this Engine (Power Plus 108) was designed to be used in the Victory lineup and since the "plug was pulled" they saved it for this particular Motorcycle. I cannot disclose who that person was/is.

I'm really happy that they are more or less forcing Harley to step up their game. I think we as consumers have been forced to settle for whatever Harley puts out for way too long. I am super excited to see what direction motorcycle technology and Innovation goes from here.
I want this motor in my scout. Also, I wish Indian would come out with a new version of the 4 cylinder bikes they used to make. I would trade my scout in in a heartbeat if they did that
On my victory on 90 degree days it does get a tad bit warm but kick back and put my feet up on the highway pegs and have no problem. So excited for the new motor and not sure what I think of the fairing if I hate it or love it. Have to see it in person first lot of unknowns
Very good that Indian has their own engineers, and the backing from Polaris! Polaris have 2 and 4 stoke engines with very high horse power for their sizes. 600cc 2 stroke with over 125HP! My 800cc Switchback ProS has 160HP. They also have straight two 4 stroke engines at 1000cc with over 100HP. For Polaris/indian a 108 inch v-twin, with 122 HP is most likely just the beginning for them.
OK, I''m totally interested in this engine now. I'd love to see it in a frame and hear it live with it being a 60 degree. Indian may be the new future for the American market.

That motor looks to be going into a new model called the Challenger with what looks like a fixed fairing like the road glide. Might have to part with my present bike and order one up.
liquid cooling solves the problem of engine heat and is helpful in meeting newer pollution requirements. also allows more power development in said engines. waiting to see what the bike looks like and how it sounds.
I'm very excited about this new engine and for what Indian has been doing. When Harley-Davidson finally took a 60 degree liquid cooled V-twin to production for the consumer market we all pushed back on it - very few liked it including me. Now I own one and I love it - a 2008 Night Rod Special that I bought new in June 2008 and put nearly 50k miles on (10k in the first 4 months). But 16 years after it's inception, Harley's V-rod died a painful death and no one is mourning its passing. I don't know what Harley really has up it's sleeve, but I think Indian Motorcycle is back with a vengeance to give the HDMC a new run for the money.
This and Scout motor seems to be a derivative of my 1st HD the Vrod. I hope HD's new motor on the custom, street fighter and Pan American uses the technology from that motor. Good for Indian pushing the envelope envelope on a new style engine. As you said Adam competition makes everyone better........ Ride hard or stay home😎
Hey @FatBob JIm the V-Rod engine was designed by Porsche in Germany so you can thank Porsche. Japan has been building over head valve overhead cam V-twin and V-4 engines for Decades.. You sound like Rio Van Winkle there..
This engine was first developed for and by Victory and you know it! It was slated to go into the new Victory Touring bikes before they axed Victory so cut the BS!
@@HabitualFixation just get tired of the "spin" bs. The "Indian" team that he says developed the engine WAS THE VICTORY TEAM when they actually developed it for the never released new Victory's!
They should have kept the vrod motor and put it in current softails and touring. But they were expensive to maintain, valves and of course just changing out the plugs. The M8s i believe you have to take the tank off to change the other 2 plugs which is easier than the vrod motor.
@@BaggerJay I have the same bike as Adam and I have a stage 4 big bore kit with D&D exhaust. On paper, the Indian appears to be about 8 bhp and 8 ft-lbs of torq more than my recent Dyno. My Harley is 120 bhp and 120 ft-lbs torque
@@pauljohnson7486 We're comparing apples to apples. A stock HD 114 is about 90hp and 119ft lbs of torque. A 107 which is what we should really compare is less than that. The Indian is 122 hp and 128 torque. That's a solid 30 hp and 9 ftlbs more. That's a huge difference.
The "teaser" didn't tease me at all, but the bike sounds decent. Of course, for what they will charge, like HD, the price is likely to be way too high for a frame, motor, and two wheels, so it should look bad ass and have some power, etc to it.
@@PAULY-P I think less than $10k, After all, we are talking about nothing more than a frame, engine, handlebars, and not much else. HD started all the inflated prices with their BS propaganda and it got many bikers to stop paying those inflated prices. Many switched to the Jap bikes and they started to follow suit. They are not nearly as bad as the "American" bikes, price wise, and are a much better bike over all. However, they have also climbed a bit in price, thanks to the greed of HD. I haven't bought a brand new bike since back in 2006, because I remember how inexpensive bikes USED to be, and still should be, and just can't bring myself to pay that ridiculous price for a new bike.
@@TennRides Well within the last 2 months I picked up a 2009 StreetGlide for $6800 with 29k miles on it because i cant afford a newer one. Im happy with it minus the starter clutch was bad which the dealership fixed for free as they should. Primary makes more noise than it should but that will be a winter project. I have a good 2 yr $800 warranty on it which covers everything except the speakers and radio. All I pay is $50 and they have to fix whatever is needed. Think it was a good deal overall. But yes, they want more ppl to buy their brand, they need to lower the prices by half. I would have to sell my 00' Deuce, 15' Busa and 09' StreetGlide in order to afford a new Harley or Indian. Thats pretty sad.
@@PAULY-P No, doesn't sound like a bad deal. However, I remember when a brand new bike cost that, or less, and it's not like I'm 100 years old or anything.
Liquid Cooled = More Power! I'm very excited to see the Bike. If those are the stock numbers I'm interested to see if they offer Stage 1 & 2 Kits for it or not cause that would really make some huge numbers.
Try out the Suzuki M109R, 109 cubic inches for 123hp released way back in 2006!! Now rolling 128hp @ 6200rpm, water cooled, huge twin disc front brakes, lots of suspension travel, bulletproof drivetrain, low maintenance shaft drive.......sorry but American market still playing catchup to the Japanese and still 15yrs behind.
I never get too excited until I know the price.. The Corvette is a real value on sports cars for $70,000 $80,000 but I don't have that much so I don't dream about it .. New 4x4 pickup $60,000 too I have to wait till they are about 10 years old and buy a used one
@Ron Pleake I bought a new Z-28 Camaro in 1979 $7,190.00 a new Yamaha FZ-07 in 2017 $7,400 a new snowmobile in 2006 and another new one in 2014.. Snowmobiles don't last as long as motorcycles do .. I Plan to buy a used bike next .. It looks like a Cruiser but is way faster than the New Indian or the V-Rod It's a V-4
Honestly, 130tq is on point. But with the FTR's 69ci motor already putting down 120hp, I was expecting no less than 140. But I guess with a decent tuner more power shouldn't be a problem. Sounds to me like they left a lot of potential in this motor.
Liquid cooked bikes have always had impressive numbers. Like the 125HP 76CI vrod. The only Harley I still own. 2019 Chieftain and my wife rides a 2015 Scout, can't wait to see the Challenger
The "Harley crowd" refusal to accept water cooled engines is the reason HD has held out so long. Yet the same demographic rides stock HD motors which and complain about them being underpowered, which they are.
@Joseph Marton I guess. If you gotta have the HD stuff. Point is that the aftermarket is huge for HD and you can get power, tuning, all at a reasonable price and not pay it to the dealer.
Guy Connell I totally agree. I have said air cooled is fine for years! I was wrong, Harley did a good thing with the Milwaukee 8 and Iove mine, but the oil consumption alone is the last straw for me and Harley. I had a beat up AMF Shovelhead that used less oil than my Milwaukee 8. Done, finished, it’ time for a Challenger
Harley's the oldest motorcycle company in the States. Indian finished originally in 53. Then came Indian part 2 and now Indian part 3. Indian might of started in 01 and Harley in 03 but Indian were around for 52 years. Harley has never closed its doors, even in the AMF years.
There's almost never bigbore kits or anything similar in motorcycle engines when it comes to DOHC. This is likely going to be as unupgradable as the scout engine.
@@the1jmacify Oh you mean AFTERMARKET yeah there's aftermarket stuff Im talking from Indian themselves. If you wanna keep the warranty on any indian bike you MUST use indian parts and have them installed by an Indian dealer. You cannot do it at home and you cant use aftermarket stuff.

@@UnrulyRider Your dealer most certainly is handling your own warranty status then, and taking over from the OEM. 100% bullshit, that indian would support aftermarket parts. It even states it on their website, that work must be done with their parts at their dealers. And "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act" does not apply to EPA regulated mandates on vehicals. This is a myth, and it's gotten a ton of people into trouble. Anytime someone brings up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, they always leave out the non EPA legality factor of it. D Archer I do own a victory cross country I love it so much I will keep it for the future
Keith Rabun should be fun to watch

At the 5:00 minute mark, did you just hint to us that you're buying the new Challenger model?
Indian is rockin. Great work. I switched to Indian Springfield about 2 years ago and have 29k on the clock.
You nailed bro it’s in the scout line as a water cooled performance cruiser. The fairing and a lot of other style points are similar to the victory cross country but certainly not a copy. Looking forward to 10/29 and in Aus god knows when we’ll get to see it in the flesh.
Exciting !!!!
That’s going to be a solid engine!
I know someone who is "in the know" who informed me that this Engine (Power Plus 108) was designed to be used in the Victory lineup and since the "plug was pulled" they saved it for this particular Motorcycle. I cannot disclose who that person was/is.
I’ve said it for a long time, liquid cool is the future for all bikes great video🤘🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Ya like the Japanese didn't figure that out 35 years ago ...
Always and twice on Sunday

I was waiting for your video 😁💯👍🏽
Should’ve been named THE INDIAN TOMAHAWK 🤙🏾
Or Spearhead
Warrior sounds good
Or how about Indian Shaman???
Q Graham
Indian Brave is what it should’ve been
Q Graham you are so right. Bad name indeed.
Can't wait to see the numbers on this when the Aftermarket Tuners get ahold of it.
Absolutely LOVE the water cooler engine.
Can't wait to see it in person
I'm really happy that they are more or less forcing Harley to step up their game. I think we as consumers have been forced to settle for whatever Harley puts out for way too long. I am super excited to see what direction motorcycle technology and Innovation goes from here.
Dude I'm pumped cant wait
About time on the release of the new model lol
Awesome new engine 👍🏻👍🏻
it will be interesting to see and ride. Harley will have to work hard to step up their game to compete with this.
I trade my Indian Chieftain 111 for Indian Chieftain Dark Horse 116 in Ruby Smoke last week at Daytona.
My next bike will be an Indian touring bike.
Liquid cool is the way to go if you want Power. And with this Texas Heat a cooler engine is a happier engine. Cut down on oil leaks
Those numbers are just crazy
Sounds awesome.
Don't like oil leakage in to coolants and viseversa radiator leak's hoses change fluid and any extra to go wrong more horse power always good
Heck yeah! Gonna have to ride one. 😎
When it comes to a big V-Twin, I’m a Harley guy. This is making me finally raise a brow to Indian.
I'm digging the challenger. I want one.
Im thinking if trading my chieftan in in one
I'm ready for an indian
@@danshea9754 i love my 18 Chieftan, but a liquid cooled motor is going to be awesome. Cant wait for this challenger to come out so i can test ride it
Adam, The motor looks to be in a fixed Fairing Motorcycle named The Challenger

That engine is huge physically. It will rip azzz it is a victory engine. Re badge. The scout is a re badge victory
Ready to see the two other Indians that will be announced soon.🏍🛵
Guess I’ll be trading in my Harley! Would love to see what it does with a few upgrades
Gonna go take a test ride today! 👍🏼
That thing is awesome 👌
I cannot wait to ride this beast! I welcome liquid cooling , my air/oil cooled thunderstroke twin is hot in summer !
@@mikeskidmore6754 oh really smdh that's well known. I owned two Vrods and put over 100,000 on them combined but thanks for the info...😂😂😂
Adam, it sure looks like the Challenger has a frame mounted fairing. What do you think? We’re both Road Glide riders
Yes. The Challenger is fixed fairing, its competition is the Road Glide, Goldwing, etc
Indian Motorcycle seems to be like the Chinese, don’t know what copy right means. Lol
@@shane8493 what??? What copyright would they be infringing??? That makes less than zero sense.
@@shane8493 copyright? LMAO
@@LARGO125 WhiteSpider I was being humorous
This engine was first developed for and by Victory and you know it! It was slated to go into the new Victory Touring bikes before they axed Victory so cut the BS!
Is or isn’t who gives fuck lol!
@@HabitualFixation just get tired of the "spin" bs. The "Indian" team that he says developed the engine WAS THE VICTORY TEAM when they actually developed it for the never released new Victory's!
V-rod used a 60 Degree liquid cooled V twin as well, interesting that HD chose to kill that instead of further developing it and now Indian has one.
They should have kept the vrod motor and put it in current softails and touring. But they were expensive to maintain, valves and of course just changing out the plugs. The M8s i believe you have to take the tank off to change the other 2 plugs which is easier than the vrod motor.
I would be interested to see how well that motor performers agenst your 114 Harley
Dave me 2
There shouldn't be much to compare. The Indian is lighter and looks like about 30 more hp and 10 ft lb of torque over the 114.
Can’t wait for 10/29/19!!
Hello Doc and Johnny!
I'm very happy with a liquid cooled engine!
Good chance this is my next bike. Due to cam chain tensioner failed design on TC Harley motors, I have purchased my last HD.
The "teaser" didn't tease me at all, but the bike sounds decent. Of course, for what they will charge, like HD, the price is likely to be way too high for a frame, motor, and two wheels, so it should look bad ass and have some power, etc to it.
Agree, i dont think any bike should be over $20k.
@@TennRides
Well within the last 2 months I picked up a 2009 StreetGlide for $6800 with 29k miles on it because i cant afford a newer one.
@@TennRides
Lol right!
I won’t know if I like it until they release the MSRP.
I never get too excited until I know the price.. The Corvette is a real value on sports cars for $70,000 $80,000 but I don't have that much so I don't dream about it ..
New 4x4 pickup $60,000 too I have to wait till they are about 10 years old and buy a used one
I know. Reference the chieftains prices.
Buy price, you buy twice.
That’s why I have a job, if what I want has a higher cost,,,,,,,I save longer.
@Bunnyshooter 223 I am supposed to adjust the Valves on my FZ-07 @ 26,000 miles only have 7,500 on it ..
Honestly, 130tq is on point. But with the FTR's 69ci motor already putting down 120hp, I was expecting no less than 140. But I guess with a decent tuner more power shouldn't be a problem. Sounds to me like they left a lot of potential in this motor.
Harley needs to step up their game!! Im starting to be more and more interested in Indian.
Harley is never gonna keep up.
This engine is what we will see in Harley-Davidson street glides, heritage classics, road king, and Ultra classics.
Thats on a fixed fairing bike! Yum!
Harley's the oldest motorcycle company in the States. Indian finished originally in 53. Then came Indian part 2 and now Indian part 3. Indian might of started in 01 and Harley in 03 but Indian were around for 52 years. Harley has never closed its doors, even in the AMF years.
Wimbo 9 I see what your trying to do there but I don’t think going through a struggle discredits your accomplishments.
This will push not only Harley Davidson but also the other brands. 122 hp and 128 fpt out of a 108 thats alot of CNC work in design.
Liquid cooled...and im assuming its only 108 so its "upgradable"...i approve this
There's almost never bigbore kits or anything similar in motorcycle engines when it comes to DOHC.
This is likely going to be as unupgradable as the scout engine.
@@FranBunnyFFXII Uhm..
.but there's a big bore kit available right now for the Scout. Willis wants to know what you talk'in 'bout.
@@FranBunnyFFXII Uhm....no OEM allows you to modify your powertrain and keep your OEM motor. That's why your shop warranties their work. Just curious, is this your first day, cuz this is some super basic ish.
IF you use non EPA regulated parts, you void you warranty, it doesnt matter what company or OEM.
Aftermarket shops are different because they are aftermarket and do not produce vehicals.
We will have to wait and see. They didn't show us anything sounds great but will it hold up at a 11:1 composition at 5500 RPM that's a lot of stress.
Was that a fixed fairing? 🤔
The Challenger!
I can't wait to test ride this bad boy. the Nose design well it will need some time to get adjusted to. The Video has been leaked for some time from a dealer meeting.
