You can really see the generational abuse the greens have. Otto rarely or never gave comfort to Alicent and now she doesn’t give comfort to her own children when they need her. The only green I feel bad for is Helaena(Alicent’s daughter). She may be a little crazy but she does have a good heart for the most part. Sadly, those kids aren’t able to communicate well because of how their parents raised them. In case you didn’t get it, they’ve mentioned Daeron, Viserys and Alicent’s fourth child. Viserys spent more time building his lego valyria than he did actually raising his children (who will all one day wield political power and ride nuclear dragons) - why should Aegon give a shit about him? Like it's partly understandable because he was sick but you'd think as someone obsessed with prophecy would notice Helaena is a dreamer or spend time with Aemon teaching him history and philosophy or ensure that Aegon and Rhaenyra grow up to love each other. But instead, he became a king trapped in the past and unable to protect or heal the wounds from his obviously divided family that is going to end up ruling millions. And Otto's moves may be disturbing BUT they demonstrate precisely why dude was Hand to three different kings in mostly peaceful times: he's a skilled politician, diplomat and administrator who understands the game of thrones - you either win or you die, there is no middle ground. The tragedy he represents is how devotion to duty, honour and family can often come at the expense of one's own humanity or the humanity of those you love. I don't doubt Otto loved his grandson BUT in order for the rest of his family to survive the upcoming conflict, he has to play the game of thrones.
Both sides really took loses, Rhaenyra with her fight with Daemon and Aegon firing otto for cole. I also really loved Otto this episode lmaooo, he was stressed, he is kind if what tywin and cersei were, like the antagonists but still charismatic and kinda makes you love to hate them

He's unintelligent, temperamental, has no political training and projects all his guilt and hypocrisy onto others. Discarding Otto was unwise, he on the other hand is good at strategy. Imo

In the time otto was hand, he made aegon king, got support from 2.5 of the 6 kingdoms in westeros currently (only counting half for the tyrells and not counting dorne) and made a smart move with the child funeral. If aegon picked Larys it wouldnt have been much of a downgrade and maybe even better than Otto, but Cole is no more than a soldier
Also wydm he can only trust Aemond and Cole, sure Aemond is his brother but Cole was fucking with his mom while Aegon's kid was getting killed instead of being in watch
