loved the video and i think it is awesome that their first language is still their Gaelic, that they actually have kept the language and their traditions alive.
Hi there, we are possibly doing a story on BBC news today about the petition regarding the Tesco in Stornoway. We are a bit short of pictures of the area, and I wondered if it goes ahead could we use a few of your shots in this film if we provide a credit? Much obliged.
Hi Marc, yes of course. Make sure to subscribe to the channel too - it all helps. Incidentally, content wise, there are films about Sidon and Tyre (in peacetime), the Yazidis of Iraq, Srebrenica today, etc on the channel too. That's more what I do on this channel (eye scotland is my local Scottish content channel) - Stornoway was a covid era film. Regards, Jonathan
We're planning a trip to Stornaway, later this year. Are there buses, taxis, or trains available in Stornoway for those of us who will have limited time to visit?
In Stornoway itself everywhere is easily walkable. Bus or taxi can take you to the airport or to some of the other villages on the Isle of Lewis. There is not train.
That's it! I'm going to visit after Christmas!

@@TravelObscurer That's great thanks very much!
Hello from Ukraine!!
I could live there 😎
I wonder how long would you last there lol
I lived there for my whole life😊
These are not Replicas of the chessmen, they are on loan from the British museum. You should correct this mistake
Looks like my info was out of date. I'll make a note in the text. Thanks.
@@TravelObscurer no problem. As an islander I have to push the facts 😝😀
@@thehistoryguy5045 Absolutely right. I look forward to making a new film when all of the pieces are returned to Stornoway where they belong!
@@TravelObscurer I'm afraid that will never be...the British museum will never let them all return...I think that there are a few in Edinburgh...
i was born in stornoway
i love it
its the best place in the world!!!!
Stornoway is a great place, but it's not a good base from which to visit Harris.
It's OK for a daytrip to Harris if time is short but, otherwise, yes I agree, far better to be based in Tarbert or Leverburgh to do Harris justice.
👍😁 it looks like the end of the world.
It seems like it as well...
