    I have 4 of the old 15s version and 3 of the new 16s versions like you have on the work bench. Other than one that came in with loose bms wires and wouldnt wake up. Contacted company and got issue resolved.
    I have had no issues with any of them. I dont use communication to my inverters either prefer that. I also like the screw connector for the wires over some other batteries i have with amphenol style. That way i can make wire to the size i want to goto the buss bar.

    I am almost certain that the JBD BMS will NOT balance when the battery is being charged even if that setting is off. It will only balance when it does not detect a charge or if the battery is being discharged. If the setting is ON however, it will ONLY balance when charging. It's one or the other (balancing when discharging or charging) but never both.
    You should actually have that setting ON and trigger balancing at 3.42v-3.45v. You only get to those voltages when charging. As you are most likely aware, the second you start discharging your battery, the cells will quickly go below 3.4v. So with the settings you have there, you will almost never balance. Additionally, you never really want to balance under 3.4v since anything under that voltage is considered nominal.

    • @Roll2Videos
      @Roll2Videos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It balanced while charging or on standby while the cells were above 3.3V. I've changed my pack to balance above 3.45.
      Now at a full SOC the pack is perfect.
      Thank you for watching 👍

    Thanks for the great video & info! I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a few of these (especially when comparing the price to the EG4). my only concern is customer support vs an entity like Signature Solar (which told me today they have no current plans to carry this battery). What's your opinion?
    Thx

    • @Roll2Videos
      @Roll2Videos  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's hard to say. Support from North America is ideal. Although I've never heard of any issues needing support so far 🤔
      I've just come across an issue with mine. They are slightly wider than most server rack batteries, and I had to take the ears off to fit it in my server rack cabinet. It bothers me because I'm unable to fixture it into the rack.

    What would be the difference between this battery pack and a 48 volt pack used in a golf cart?

    • @Roll2Videos
      @Roll2Videos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The golf cart packs are made to take a heavier surge than the server rack. Beefier BMS 👍

    • @ericklein5097
      @ericklein5097 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The vast majority of the server rack batteries use the PACE BMS which is a pretty standard BMS that is ~$100.
      I’m a bit iffy about this BMS especially since you need an aftermarket app to adjust the balance start voltage to 3.45V. You should never balance below 3.45V, it will unbalance the battery.
      So one big question mark that kinda shows you why this rack is ~$100+ cheaper than the rest.

    • @Roll2Videos

      @@ericklein5097 Good points. Still had 105 ish Ah on the discharge test

    • @ericklein5097
      @ericklein5097 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Roll2Videos After rewatching Lithium Solar's video it looks like a JBD BMS...if it isn't its very similar. So the only thing I'm iffy about is the wire gauge used on the positive and that can be easily replaced.
      This thing is a freaking bargain. If you're pulling 104Ah out of LF100 cells in a 16S pack thats not perfectly balanced that means that these are maybe one step below the EV Grade cells at most. I haven't seen a test report for LF100's but going off the various 280Ah cells that give you 290-300Ah the LF100 giving 104Ah lines up with it definitely NOT being gray market bullshit cells.
      Not sure how they do it for this price. I guess the metal box is WAY cheaper in quantity than it is for us to buy it off Alibaba.

      Great question. Because I'm using so many different battery brands in my bank they all don't communicate together. I use upper and lower voltages on the inverter values and a smart shunt for an overall SOC view.

      @narrowstripsawing9595 The batteries with communications will communicate the amps and volts for the watts to the inverter. If you add a non-communication battery, fewer amps will come from the communication batteries, and the inverter might think something is wrong.

    Good morning. thanks for the video. My dual 24vdc / 300ah DIY batteries in my battery bank have the same discrepancies in cell voltage after recharging each morning on the first cell to receive power. Other 7 cells are all close to same voltage within the 0.050mv threshold. First cell quickly matches other cells voltage when a demand for power is made on the battery and a little energy is used from the batteries. This seems normal but I don't know for sure.

    Vatrer: Add an auto pre-charge resistor, slap in some fire suppression packs, change BMS to 200A JK BMS w/2A balancer or consider a model with the JK inverter BMS. Some of their BMS values are a bit wonky, 75C is too high, EVE lists 65C as max. Passive balancing in packs this size and larger should not even be considered, mfg, PLEASE stop doing such slow balancing BMS on these things.
