    I've looked at somewhere around a dozen videos about calibrating this balancer and was still unable to get mine to calibrate properly. Then I finally came across yours. Very professional, clear and succinct. Thank you, your video really helped me get my tires balanced. .

      Awesome! I'm glad the video was able to help you get this machine balanced correctly. I know the feeling of finding a tutorial that's not very clear!

    Good vids, thank you. In one of your previous posts you had a blue Mayflower tire changer with the ad-ons, I have the same set up. Why did you change out your machine to a different RED model?

      Thank you. I sold the previous machine because it only supports an outer clamping for an 18" wheel and even though I added the helper arm, I still needed one more arm to help with an easier install for low profile tires. The new machine I have supports an outer clamp up to 22 inches and also has both helper arms which makes a huge difference. So based on my needs, the first model wouldn't have worked for me even if I added a second helper arm because my wheels are bigger than 18 inches. 😎

    do you have to do the calabration every tire or just the first set up?

    Did you use 1 weight and remove it and use it on the inner side or did you use 2, 1 for each side?
    I am finding conflicting instructions on that.

      Since there is only one weight supplied, you remove it and use it again. I've had no issues balancing after calibration. I'll check even 2 or 3 times just to make sure and they balance out just fine.

    so i have this balancer also and gosh did i never read the manual nor know where its at.. lol is this the only way to calibrate the machine? as when i balance wheels i use the middle button setting, with both inner and out sticky weights.. button " ALU 1" im wondering if there is a difference in balance calibration for each setting. I'm wondering if the hammer on weight can be any or mayflower specific included weight. thanks!

      I did some digging around and your way is factory for calibration. what I'm wondering is, are you able to weigh the 100g weight supplied? I contacted mayflower and they want 48.50 plus 5 dollar shipping for the calibration weight. 😫 .. that could be a few boxes of sticky weights

      Wow, that's a bit pricey for that. Lol. Here is the manual (drive.google.com/file/d/1447yXN1wDNzkY1tcKowMjCaJ9tHk2Zv0/view?usp=sharing), I believe there is another calibration method outlined but the factory one is the preferred method. I will check the weight I have and let you know.

      The weight is 100g or 3.5oz. Here are some options for replacement: th-cam.com/users/shortsD_wQFU8LpqM?feature=share

    Hello, what exactly rims and tires are you using? I recall reading somewhere when I purchased it over five years ago that it requires a special steel wheel without a tire mounted to do this procedure.

      The instructions says to use a new or slightly used 15 inch steel wheel with tire.

    How long have you had the machine and how long do you think it will last?

    • @btbuildthings
      @btbuildthings  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've had it for a little over 2 years. I can see this units lasting a long time. I have not had any issues nor have heard of any previous owners experiencing any major issues.

    Just a safety concern. Never have clothing with laces. If those get stuck in the machine... You'll do the math.
