If you leave Australia after your travel validity expires, or it expires when you are outside Australia, you will not be able to return to Australia as a permanent resident. This visa allows you to return as a permanent resident.
Travel facility on your permanent visa⬇️
When you are granted a permanent visa, you are usually permitted a 5-year travel facility. This means you can leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you like in the 5 years from the date your permanent visa was granted, as long as your visa remains valid.
After 5 years, your travel facility expires. You will need to apply for and be granted either
👍a Resident Return visa - if you wish to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident

My visa was granted in 2012 and expired in 2017.During this period we lived in australia for only 8 months may 2013 to jan 2014.pr visa sub class 175. Does we get rrvisa.

Hi, My visa 155 is expiring in Nov 2022 and I haven't live in australia for 2 years in last 5 years. But, Currently i am in Australia and will complete my 2 years requirement in July 2023. I am planning to go overseas in July 2023. Can I apply 155 visa in July 2023 or I have to apply before it expire in Nov 2022? I believe PR visa generally not expire just travel facility is expired.Do I will get 5 yrs visa if I wait and apply? Because if I apply in Nov 2022 I may get only 12 months visa.
Can you please advice? TIA.

Apply when you have the 2 yrs. You should get another 5 yr visa
