    FYI. Current processing time of 143 subclass visa will require over 15 years if you apply now! Parents who applied in 2017 will get their application process around 2023 or after six to seven years. As of now they are processing June 2016 subclass 143 and past six month nothing moving forward.

      @ailsaustralia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry Sujeeva but you are incorrect. Currently it is taking about 4-5 years for the 143 processing and they are still being granted. Thanks for your comment.

    Good afternoon.
    I would like you to answer to two different questions:
    1. With a bridging visa (via a contributory aged parent visa), what is the time limit to visit the family in the country of origin per year in order not to affect the visa?
    2. Where are the significant health issues that may prevent the granting of a visa defined? Is Parkinson's disease one of them?

    I understand that re the Subclass 870 Visa, the applicant must leave Australia for a minimum of 90 days before applying for a second 870 Visa. This should be added to the "Cons List" for this Visa, or does this no longer apply?

    We applied for the 143 Visa in 2018. We were notified in August that we are now in the ‘queue’. Unfortunately, Home Affairs have not processed 143 visas since Covid and are still stuck on May 2016. With the current backlog of 143 Visas it looks like we’ve probably got another 4-6 years of waiting unless the government changes their immigration policy. It seems very unfair that when we first applied there was a 3 year wait with no cap. Now, it looks like a minimum 7 year wait. Being as this is an expensive ‘fast track’ visa it’s very disappointing 😟 Do you see things improving or will they just shut down the 143 Visa as the backlog is so huge - I’ve heard somewhere around 60 000. Or could they increase the cost to make it basically unaffordable for most parents? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    • @ailsaustralia
      @ailsaustralia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Carole, currently the 143 visa is still being granted although yes it has slowed down. When the borders open it will speed up and no doubt the government will increase the cap next financial year to process the back log. Thanks for watching and best of luck

    You are still suggesting that it will take 5 years to process a Subclass 143 Visa when the official Australian Homeaffairs Website currently states it will take 'at least' 64 months (5years 3 months) for applications to be released for final processing, which in itself takes at least 12months.
    We applied in January 2017 and haven't heard a thing since our application was acknowledged. It's such a long, cruel, frustrating experience Karl.

    • @ailsaustralia
      @ailsaustralia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Colin, many visas are in slow down in the processing during the pandemic for obvious reasons. The government at the moment does not really want to add more Australian permanent residents to the list of people waiting to get into Australia. Things will change dramatically when the borders open up and that will not be far away now. Hang in there. Thanks for watching

    5 years for the 143 contributory visa is a complete lie, anyone applying now is likely to wait for over 10 years. My parents applied in mid 2016 and are STILL waiting to get a case officer, has been almost six years now. There's no communication from the department whatsoever and you will be waiting forever for an email that will probably never come.
