My mum was in Central London with a mate if hers in 2006. She sees a man at the bus stop, and he looked like he was sleeping, he also looked quite rough. Something was telling my mum to go over to him and check him out. He had a red band around his wrist. In the UK, having a red band around your wrist can mean you have heart problems, as my mum had learned from medical documentaries. She immediately pulls him to the ground and starts CPR, and her mate calls 999. Turns out the man had suffered a huge heart attack while at the stop, and my mum's instinct had helped save him.

I always have false gut feelings, I don’t why, like I’d be: “Something is going to go wrong.” but nothing happens.
So I don’t get what a gut feeling really is.
Edit: lol I bet you expected me to say, “Thank you so much for likes.” nah I’m not those. This edit is my conclusion; I may be diagnosed with anxiety, but considering I will be back in my daily education life, in around early January, (I’m editing in December) I haven’t really been outside, so when I do, I will update my false gut feelings. Only if it’s necessary. Since I normally get these false gut feelings in my daily educated life, I may get them again. So look up to updates. Commenters...
Update: It’s still happening. Surprise, surprise. The feeling of me being watched, or have gut feelings is still occurring. Below in the comments, many have told me too go to the doctors, when I can’t, reasons for this is because my parents don’t like how the doctors diagnose you with something, such as ADHD, Dyslexia or even Anxiety, they believe it puts someone down in thinking they don’t have a capability of doing such and such. So. Yeah. :/ I think that’s the end of the conversation of *the mystery of my anxiety.* This has been going on for 3 months. Which is pretty cool? I guess? First time reaching 1k likes, and I know people don’t like other saying, THANKS FOR THE LIKES, and I even did mention it but, thanks for consideration, if that’s better than thanking for likes. It’s been a real one bois (and girls) but I have to head out. 👊🏻

Back in 1999, I was working at a fast food (call it Hot Dog Queen) and would sometimes walk along CSX tracks as a shortcut. Well, one day I decided to take the M1 (left side) tracks. I heard a train whistle behind me but didn’t pay much attention at first. Then something told me to get off the track, and I’m glad I listened because not ten seconds later, a MARC commuter train passed right on the track I had been walking on. I stopped for a full five minutes in shock at how close I had come to being killed by my own stupidity.

I’m probably gonna sound harsh so sorry in advance, but my dude, that’s the dumbest shit ever. If you’re gonna walk on the tracks walk on the gravel to the right/left side of the tracks. Or just don’t fuck around with trains in general, they are way more lethal than people realize.
And yeah, the train tracks are usually bi-directional. Otherwise there would be massive headaches with routing/signals/PTC systems if one of the tracks was shut down for any reason.

Here's mine for the comments: I lived in an apartment complex that had a strict no smoking rule, One night I was up late studying for an exam and decided to go out from a smoke (Roughly 2am) and had to go through the "secured" underground parking garage to get to an area were you could smoke. as I exited the security door into the garage and turned left I saw two males wearing thick hoodies halfway ducked behind a car, I hear the door close behind me and I knew my keycard was in my pocket to open it. I had the feeling that If I tried anything stupid I would be in danger from the looks they were giving me, I casually but quickly pulled out my cigarette packet; took one out and continued walking to the smoking area behind them (I felt like I stopped to decide what to do for the longest time but looking back on the footage I didn't) I causally greeted them well I was walking past lighting my smoke, as I got to the security gate I opened it and walked through, pulling it behind me. I walked a little more before turning around as I had an even worse feeling to see one of the males climbing the gate. I started to run through an alley way next to the smoking area that leads to the main street and proceeded to run around all the stores/buildings to get to the front entrance of my building as I left my phone upstairs, as I get to the front I see the other male at the side door (Next to the front entrance *Its glass doors*) sitting on the stairs facing the opposite direction to me, I casually walk up to the front and scan my card for the door to unlock which made a loud noise which caused him to look at me at go to get up; I was watching him the entire time and ran to my apartment to call the police. The next day the building manager was showing the footage to the police officers and myself where we saw them pull knives out during the chase. Everyone told me I was stupid for going out at that time of night for a smoke.

Was walking home from a pub when I approached an intersection with a green crosswalk. There was a car waiting, watching the traffic on his left so that he could turn right on the red light for him. He didn't seem to see me, and I just knew he was going to turn without looking to his right. I walked on. Sure enough, he quickly accelerated in order to make the small window he had to join the stream of traffic, and turned directly into me in the crosswalk. Having seen this coming, I was already prepared. Placed my left hand on the hood of his car as it approached me, tilting my whole body to avoid being hit as I hopped over the rest of his hood, looking him dead in the eyes as I did so, landed on my feet, and just kept walking as if nothing had happened. But that man knew he fucked up, had a mixed reaction of panic and awe, and slowly kept driving as he composed himself.
As far as I know, I've never seen him since, but he certainly learned to pay a bit more attention while driving.

One time when I was in elementary school, I had this weird feeling while I was at PE class and I decided to talk to my friend about escape plans so we could get out of the school safely in case of an emergency (our plan was to hop the fence and run into the nearby neighborhood). So we're running while talking and all of a sudden a helicopter goes by the school and it has this sort of amplifying voice thing and the whole class heard them say something like "he has a weapon" and we all panicked. Then we hear the principal comes on the loud speaker and she's like "oh yeah we're going on lockdown, y'all" so naturally, we all start screaming. The PE teacher takes us to the cafeteria and we're in there for a few hours. Apparently there was a robbery in the area and one of the guys escaped and the cops couldn't find him.
Another time I had a weird feeling and we ended up in a lockdown, I was in middle school. So I got dropped off at school and I saw this girl that I knew and she was with this old woman and they both looked sorta frantic. I was a bit unsettled because I'd never seen that woman before (I knew what the girl's mom looked like) but I brushed it off, but it eventually surfaced when I went to class. Then I hear on the loud speakers that the principal is telling the teachers to bring everyone nearby into the classes and lock the doors. The reason why was because that girl from before was at the school and some guy in a van tried pulling her into the car and the crossing guard saved her. The old woman was a witness and was taking the girl to the office to let the school know.

Parked at a suspicious spot in a neighborhood after getting my dope, I had a gut feeling to wait a little longer before using. I start the car make a U-turn, and see a cop pass by me, who would've defiantly seen me snort heroin. I'm almost four years sober, so this was four years ago. Regarding the police officer who was nearly hit. I learned in driver's education that many drivers drift toward lights from cars on the side of the road, especially flashing lights at night. Whenever I approach a stopped car, police or not, I make especially sure I'm staying in my lane, at least, and not being a distracted looky loo. Plus I'm obnoxious about sharing this fact-lette with others. Couldn't hurt...

Once when my rabbit was alive in like September I saved his life. He was chilling in the back yard. From a table near my kitchen you can see almost the whole yard, but I never sit there. One day when I was home alone my mom had left his to have fun. I was upstairs watching TH-cam when I decided to go downstairs to the basement and play Minecraft. When I got a snack, instead of going straight downstairs like i normally do, I sat at that table. For some reading I looked outside and saw this giant cat chasing my TEN YEAR OLD RABBIT and dropped everything and ran outside. After like an hour and a half the cat left and I eventually saved him scared the crap out of me especially since I was alone. If I hadn’t been there he might have got eaten by a cat. Unfortunately he passed away in November. But after that I never left him alone.

One of my friends looked at me and said "Are you ok dude? You have gone super pale". I just said "We have to leave right now". They moaned and complained but agreed because I was so adamant. The a few days later it was in the news that two teens had been kidnapped and killed in those woods, on the exact day we were there. I've never ignored a feeling since.

A couple of years ago I was driving to work when I heard a 'voice' tell me to go home. I ignored it, but the voice became so insistent, I turned the car around. The voice then demanded I to go to the hospital. I was deciding which hospital, when the voice became very agitated and told me to get an ambulance. I then had a feeling it wasn't safe to drive. I called 911, told the operator I had no pain, but had a gut feeling something was wrong. I was in the ER by 8 am and under the knife by 10 am as they found a 100% blockage in my circumflex artery. When I woke, there were 8 or so medicals standing around. The cardiologist told me that as soon as they put in the stent, I had a pulmonary embolism, AKA 'killers'. So, the take away from this is to pay attention to your gut!

I remember one time I was driving with my friend (with me in the passenger, her actually driving). It was very very late at night, around 3am. She was driving her boyfriend home, and once we left his house, I had a feeling, as if I was sick. Something I’m my head told me we were being followed. We were both teenagers at the time, with her being a pretty attractive girl and me being a skinny defenseless boy, but that didn’t help. As we were driving back, the house we were going to was very remote and far out, like those kind of neighborhoods with houses spread very far from eachother, and trees EVERYWHERE. It was pitch black, and the roads looked like they were from a horror movie. I decided not to tell my friend about my gut feeling cause I felt it would freak her out. That’s when I saw the headlights. Ever since a highway 20 minutes ago, someone in a large truck was tailing us. Like I said, it was very remote and far away, with many twists and turns. There was almost no way the person happened to be going the same way as us. As soon as we turned on the gravel road to her house, the headlights vanished, it seemed that they turned them off so they could get around more sneakily. The second I noticed, I crawled across the passengers seat and honked the horn for about 10 seconds, and not stopping until I saw the headlights again, and them driving away. The house we were going to had only a few people and many, many ways to get in. The odd thing was, two days before going, I had a feeling someone was going to break into the house, and I couldn’t shake it off.

There was one time back in February of this year where my gut feeling at the very least saved me a trip to the ER as I was nearly run over by an inattentive driver. She was talking to (and looking at) her son sitting next to her as they drove past me, thus she was facing away from me.
My gut feeling told me to stop crossing the intersection and take a step back. The car wasn't going by me fast, as they had made a turn to reach the shopping mall ahead. I was on a crosswalk trying to cross the road to go to the bigger toy store further down the street. They came driving from behind me, so I only got a glimpse of the car out of the corner of my eye and I knew they were turning towards me, so it was enough for my gut to send me warning signals to pay extra attention to that car, which turned out to be the correct choice. As I had the feeling the car wasn't going to stop, I stopped and took a step back, watching the car go by right in front of me.

I was skiing and the trail I was on was pretty crowded, and when I got to the steeper part of the trail, I realized how many people were behind me and something told me to stop. So I stopped pretty hard in the middle of the trail and just as I did, a completely out of control snowboarder flew down right across where I would’ve been and took a huge spill. i remember this time, a couple yesrs ago i was around 7 or 8, i remember walking outside talking to my friend, when all of a sudden a house alarm turned on, i know you might be like ‘oh a house alarm only, nothing much’ but i had a weird feeling, because it wasn’t like a house alarm, it was slow and creepy and gave a scary vibe, but then it got louder as if it was coming closer, not too long after that i saw an ice cream truck in the distance and told my friend to run and hide. the truck saw me and stop in front of my road, as i ran to hide with my friend. shortly after, a man around his teens or a young adult, stepped out from the back and signaled me and my friend to come closer, my friend was about 3 years older than me so obviously she tried to protect me, and risk it. but the boy kept signalling and started shouting, ‘COME HERE NOW. COME HERE.’ and we didn’t go obviously, but all i remember after that was him hold something sharp, i think it was a glass shard, so we ran to my friend’s porch which was no longer than about 5 minutes away, and the man along with someone else followed us half way, then we turned around and they ran away. the van, from what i remember, was not one i could recognize, and had no ice cream machines in it. the van had a lot of scratches and it was white and almost bare. all was on it were some small stickers. from that day until even now i’m scared of ice cream trucks. no this is not fake, it only happened recently.

Me and my cousin snuck out to meet up with a friend. when you leave her house, you have to go up an insanely dark hill, cross a bridge, go down the hill, and then there’s a bunch of stores and restaurants. Anyways, we were walking up the hill and some man was walking down it. We couldn’t see his appearance or anything because of how dark it was, all we saw was a giant figure. When i saw him, I instantly grabbed my cousin’s hand and whispered “he look super sketchy” and she agreed. I don’t know if you would call this a gut feeling but i had the sudden urge to look behind us, and when I did, I saw that the man turned around and began following us. I looked at my cousin and said “He’s following us, he just turned around”. She didn’t believe me so she turned around and she saw that he indeed was. We started fast walking, still holding hands, and she tells me she can hear him walking faster. I turn around and he seems to be a bit closer. We FaceTime her at-the-time boyfriend and start running down the hill all the way to the store entrance. We look at the end of the hill and there he was. He stood at the edge of the hill, staring at us for about a minute, then he turned around and walked back up the hill.
We were so scared to go to her house that night cause we didn’t know if he would be lurking in the shadows or not. Thank god he wasn’t.

“When did a gut feeling save your life?”
I was six, I had a feeling to listen to my mom when she told me to go upstairs next. My mom was planning to tell my father we were moving out. But where would we go? I couldn’t remember...
But, in the morning I came downstairs and did my usual, walk by the T.V and get yelled at because I “interrupted” his car show. I went to the kitchen and got a bowl of cereal and listened to music. After my bowl, around....noon-ish, my mom told me to go upstairs, I got nervous and called my dog up with me. I went into my room, and soon heard yelling, of course it was my father. I went to go look from the landing. Right down the stairs was the front door. My mom had her bags, and a lot of suit cases.
My dad got a little...mad. He yelled, cursed, and called my mom an un-forgivable word, right. In. Front. Of. Me. I had learned not to cry since my dad would get mad when I did. My dog was a Boxer and a Pit bull. I hugged him and cried with no sound. (I hugged my dog). My mom called the police once he was done pushing her out of the door. He called his dad, thinking his father would magically become a lawyer and save him.
-My mom decided now would be best to leave since recently he had surgery on his back, so he pretended to be weak, so mom would get him things, so I would help with dinner. So we would feel bad for him. My mom thought he wasnt lying. That we was actually weak.-
We went to a homeless shelter. It was...horrible.

A few months ago, I was craving for KFC for weeks and since I was too busy doing my thesis I didn't have the time to eat out. That particular day, I ran out of paper so I went to the store to bought an entire rim of bondpaper and got my hair trimmed, KFC was a walking distance from the salon I'm in and decided to go there. Right when I was supposed to cross the road in front of KFC, I had this sinking feeling in my stomach, I suddenly felt uneasy but on high alert. I just knew something was wrong, though I wasn't aware what is. I ditched my plan on going to KFC and just went home, which 30-40 minute travel time. When I got home and opened my laptop, I saw my boyfriend chatting me about a van filled with blood and corpses of two women inside and rigged with explosives parked in front of KFC near the crosswalk.

what town was this in? What date? I'd like to read up on it in the news.Obviously a bomb and corpses in a van in front of KFC would make the news so I'd like to learn more about it.

My grandma over shot her turn. She turned southbound, on a northbound road. I had told her to get to the side of the road. As soon as we did a car zoomed past us. I looked her and that car would have hit us, and more than likely severely injured us. Just then I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked over nobody was there.

One time when I was younger,
my house had a cross section dirt road.
So, my mom and me drove up the dirt road to the cross section, so I got out to cross the dirt road to get my mail. When I did, I turned back and checked the road, twice. But as I proceeded to walk across, something kept telling me to look across the road again. As I did, I saw a car flying across the dirt road, I jumped back. Just a couple of seconds before the car went flying by, without even stopping. I believe if I didn't look across, the car might have hit me.

I had found out I had a bad case of the flu that day and, the doctors had given me medicine for it. When I would take the medicine I would have to eat before taking it, we had KFC that day. My mother kept forcing me to eat more food even though I wasn't hungry and I had a bad gut feeling about it.
Later that night I was in quite a bit of pain and I felt barfy, I texted and told this to my mother. She told me to meet downstairs and I didn't go downstairs for a little while getting this horrible gut feeling that if I went downstairs I would regret it, my mom yelled for me and I went downstairs she lectured me for a bit and gave me a bunch of medicine. I was having a lot of troubles with it for some reason, after taking the medicine my mom and dad watched me begin to walk away and make a violent gagging sound.
As I continued walking towards the stairs to go back to bed I felt something going up my throat, I was gonna vomit and I knew it, I ran full speed to the bathroom and threw up in the sink then opened the toilet and kept my head over the toilet.
I called to my mom "I'm throwing up!" But I was sick and my voice was horse so she said "Go to bed" I called again "I'm throwing up, come here and look in the sink.." I repeated "look in the sink" my mom came into the bathroom and asked "why do I need to look in the sink?" She looked in the sink and said nothing, my dad rubbed my back (He was a silent man at times) I continued holding my head over the toilet crying and violently coughing.
My dad looked in the sink and said "The coleslaw" (like it was some murderer that murdered in a certain way and they gave it a nickname like Jack the Ripper) I asked my mom "Why, when I said I'm throwing up did you say go to bed?" She thought I said "I'm going up"

My great grandmother lived in Abervan, if you dont know what the abervan disaster was basically this slurry came down and hit a school and hundreds of people died.
My great grandmother wanted a cigarette, she snuck to her house then walked back to the school. Then she saw the state of the school, it was all slurry. Her two brothers died and she would have died if she didnt get a cigarette.

This just happened to me a few hours ago, and my adrenaline rush is just ending and im starting to clam down, but the more i think about it the creepier it gets...
I was omw home at arnd 12 from the train station, a few blocks from my house i suddenly felt very alert, and i removed my earphones and used my ears to listen to my surroundings as i walked, i had a string gut feeling not to walk through the playground area which the streetlights were all turned off, so if anybody was hiding in the structures it would be reeeeaally hard to spot them.
So i chose the lighted path right beside that route. As i was halfway through, i heard those "smoochy" sounds made using the mouth coming from the back of the playground, but it was too dark to see, i thought it was the usual malay couples hanging around that area playing a joke on me/teasing or trying to scare me, so i wlked a little faster, but as i walked, i realised the smoochy sound was still behind me and getting closer, so as i was right before my block, the smoochy sound was quite near, arnd 6-7m away. When i turned around, there was this middle aged uncle. He was making those smoochy sounds as he walked behind me, i met his eyes and quickly turned back, i wasnt sure if he really was making those sounds at me or just making those sounds in general, but i was really creeped out.
So i rushed to the lift, and pressed for a floor, a few moments later he came onto the lift and pressed two floors above the one i just pressed. I stood in a strategic position at the back of the lift, so that i have him in front of me and in full view, when it finally reached the floor, i calmly walked out and as soon as the door closed i ran down and back to my house.
I do not know if the uncle had any malicious intent, or i was just being paranoid, but i have never seen the man before around my block, but i'm also not too sure as i do not know everyone who lives here.
After calming down, the creepiest thing i realised was that, he was sitting at the playground until i walked past abd he started making those smoochy sounds.
Edit: this happened in singapore, where we live in hdb flats

when I was boarding a plane to fly somewhere (don't remember where) I had a feeling like one of the planes at this airport would crash. thankfully, not my plane, but when we landed I saw that a plane had crashed coming from my local airport. there was a slight delay and then the planes were switched, I think I might have been on that plane if thee was no delay
(edit: not sure if it was a plane from the airport I was at, just know I saw a plane wreck on the news that looked like similar jets that were parked there) also it wasn't tv news it was a story on my mobile phone

I was told a story when I was a kid...
When my great grandfather was 17, he was working at a train yard. He had a bad feeling, and felt as if he needed to move, so he got someone to take his place on the tracks, and he walked to the woods to use the toilet (behind a tree). When he got back, he saw the guy that took his place in pieces, spread all over the tracks.
This story makes me sick, but grateful that my family seems to have these instincts.
(I have them too and it’s actually saved my life.)

I would frequently have panic attacks, such as fast heart rate, shortness of breath and feeling scared or like I was going to die for no reason. Went to the doctor and they assumed I had anxiety and that I was stressed about the GCSE Exams that was happening at the time. Then once the exams were finished I would still have these panic attacks but thought I was still worried about the results or something. Until one day I noticed something was off I felt my heart racing and felt breathless even though I was lying down, i went down stairs and told my mum and she said I looked bright red and we called 111 (UK health advice) who then sent an ambulance. The ambulance came and measured my heart rate, oxygen levels, blood pressure, etc and said it was fine and probably another panic attack, they gave me the option to stay home or go to the hospital for another checkup. I chose to go to the hospital, they did an ECG-which showed that I had a rare heart condition that can only be diagnosed by and ECG (which turns out I was born with but never knew) and that it mimics anxiety and feels exactly like a panic attack, but is instead my heart having extra electric signals going around the heart (which can be very dangerous and cause instant death). I am happy that I listened to my instincts of something was wrong.

A family friend told my father this story. They ( a man driving and his wife in the passenger seat ) were driving down a dark country road in about the middle of nowhere. As they were approaching a cross street, the wife suddenly screamed, and the man obviously slammed on the brakes. That moment, a bike went in front of them really quickly; no lights, all dark clothes. Had she not screamed, they would have hit and killed him. Later, he asked her why she screamed and she responded with you didn't hear the crashing sound? She had heard the sound of the car hitting the bike.

a few weeks ago, i was in my math class. i had finished my work and had nothing else to do. i began to develop a small headache, and since it was really warm and stuffy in that math room i thought it would be good if i got some fresh air. so i took my bottle of water and told my math teacher that i was going for a walk for like ten minutes. i began to walk around my empty school since every other person was in class. i was walking around the halls when this man approached me. he asked me if i knew where a certain teacher’s class was, and i pointed him in the direction. he thanked me and walked away. i kept on walking but i got this strange feeling. someone was watching me. i tried not to make it obvious that i had noticed, and tried to look around discreetly. i pretended you drop my water bottle, bent down to pick it up and saw the same man standing at the end of the corridor i was in. he didn’t look like he was exactly watching me, but he wasn’t moving. i decided that i should trust my gut. i would have to walk past the man to get back to my math class, so i decided to go to the nearest bathroom. i usually avoided going to that bathroom because older girls in my school used that bathroom and they didn’t like the younger years, but i didn’t care at this point. i heard footsteps as i walked through the corridor, and it was the same man. he was walking faster. i reached the bathroom. there was a girl inside, doing her makeup. i decided i couldn’t go back out alone. i told her about it, and she was understanding. she brought me outside and back to my math class. a week ago i saw the same man on the news, after assaulting and killing 3 young girls. always trust your gut.

    I had a gut feeling.
It happened to me when I was still getting used to the first days of university. One day, I had a long lunch break between my classes. So I decided to go to the library before having lunch as I wasn’t hungry yet. The library in my university campus has quiet study areas on the ground floor and the first floor and the books are on the second floor. I went to the second floor to check out the books and see if I could find anything interesting. While I was passing the shelves that had history books, I had a gut feeling that I should stay still next to the side of the shelf I was standing at. My curiosity to continue checking out the books was having a fight with my gut feeling. My gut feeling won the fight and I stood still. Not even 5 seconds later, an earthquake happened and everyone was trying to protect themselves. After the earthquake was over, we all got out of the library. Thankfully, it wasn’t a destructive earthquake but if my curiosity had won the fight and the earthquake was in a destructive mood, my curiosity could’ve caused me to get hurt.

I don't know if this counts, but I'll tell it anyway.
When I was about 8 years old(?) me and my great uncle went for a hike in the woods. We walked for maybe an hour before deciding to climb down to this concrete landing we had come across that led to the businesses and restaurants that people visited when coming to hike, or to swim in the lake.
We had 2 choices of ways we could go down. One was really steep and one was pretty ok if not a little longer of a path. I said we should take the steep path. About a quarter of the way down me and my uncle both slip. I'm sliding down this steep ass hill heading straight for a concrete landing that's maybe 4 feet below a drop off we would have had to jump down. Idk why or how but something told me to reach my hand up and close my hand. So I did. And as soon as I closed my hand it grabbed onto this one singular root that was sticking out right where my hand was. If I hadn't have done that at exactly that point I would have slipped all the way to the bottom of this hill, caught my legs on the ledge of the concrete wall, and flown face first into the concrete landing below it. Idk if it was survival instinct in my genes telling me to try to grab onto something and I just got lucky, or something else (I'm not religious so I don't mean devine intervention lol), but I am super glad I didn't die at 8 years old because I chose a steep path lmao.

One time I was with three of my freinds driving to an amusement park, I was in the middle in the back and it was a little car. I didn’t have my seatbelt on, neither did the girl to the right of me, and I was bent over laying on her lap and I was on my phone. My friend in the passenger seat was sitting backwards, talking to us. Out of nowhere, with no discussion made, I sat up, put my seatbelt on, the girl beside me put hers on and our friend in the front turned around and put hers on. We were on an express highway and we rear ended a stopped car not even two minutes after. Their car going on top of ours then rolling off. My friend went to the hospital with a neck brace as precaution. No one was injured but had I not put my seatbelt on I would’ve no longer been in the back and who knows what could’ve happened to my friends 🤷‍♀️
