What really pisses me off is Lex. Jesse was never a good choice for Lex, you can make him as bald and brooding as you want and he'll still never be able to get past that mousy voice and small presence. It would be like casting Michael Cera as Bruce Wayne, there's just a personality to the character that the actor can't properly portray. When I think of Lex, I think of the scary-as-hell, successful, ridiculously smart evil mastermind, not a pale, scrawny, twitchy weirdo who reminds me of me back in highschool.
+OckhamAsylum I agree, whenever Jesse was on screen, he took me out of the movie. He basically just did a really poor rendition of a Joker/ Riddler type character.
I gotta disagree on Cavill. It was clear to me even as I was watching, the script and director totally screwed Superman over. There would be like whole minutes going by where he would just say nothing and look. How can you do that with charisma? That's the flimsy ass script.
It is so apparent that Zack Snyder either doesn't like Superman, or doesn't know what to do with him. Now some people will say, "It's just another interpretation of Superman. Get over yourself Marvel fan boy." Here's the thing though, they didn't stray far from who Bruce Wayne/Batman is. They even went so far as to do his origin again. They didn't fundamentally change Batman. But Clark Kent/Superman, no problem. They gave him some morose and depressing parents. The Kents on Smallville were just as protective, but they weren't depressing. They were the type of parents you would want. At least on that show, when Jonathan Kent died protecting Clark, he did so from beating Lionel Luthor's ass. You felt that that they loved him. But in this world, he seemed more like a burden than a blessing. Oh, and the relationship between Lois and Clark. Totally unearned. How am I supposed to believe that they love each other? Just because she said that she did? That is such lazy storytelling, and it's why Man of Steel deserved a sequel or two. I'm going to be totally real here. I think we just saw Superman being placed on the shelf. They're doing another Batman before Superman gets a sequel. They don't know how to work with the character, so they're going back to Batman.
Han Seoul-Oh Doesn't know Superman? Why,because he's not like Christopher Reeve?! If I remember correctly, Christopher Reeve isn't even remotely accurate. Bitch elsewhere.
Man 2 years late but wow. You got just depressing parents... I got parents that would give their lives to their son who is still too young and they know the world will reject him. Although yeah logically he could've saved him. But it was a solid reason for the movie to show how committed his family is to him and its heartbreaking. This is a different take on the superman and from the studio interference was prevalent but Synder did what he could to flesh out superman in man of steel (which was a full fledged solo movie) and BvS which played more of a sequel as a world with superman and the consequences that come with it with lex Luthor and batman being the results of men of power against a "God." The whole intention is larger than life concepts but in a comic book setting. This is more of a legit comic book then anything Marvel put at the time. Of course, this isn't a comic book but a movie, but who cares, there is so many comic book adaptations so might as well try something different in terms of tone and ideas.
Yeah, I was actually thinking as I was watching the movie that Eisenberg felt much more like the Riddler than Lex Luthor. I felt like I was watching the Riddler in Lex Luthor's shoes for a day, lol.
"Explosion after explosion". Corey is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo right! At one point, Doomsday and Wonder Woman are literally just hurling explosions at each other of different colors 8^o
+Stanlos That sounds kind of meta. Like they just grab the explosions that the effects department has gone mad with and start hurling literal movie effects at each other like the CG animators can't keep up.
+Stanlos its a SUPERHERO MOVIE?! DO YOU FUCKERS NOT WANT THERE TO BE ACTION?! YOUR PRECIOUS MARVEL MOVIES DO JUST AS MUCH ACTION, THEY JUST PUT JOKES IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.
Michael G Oh Michael! I don't NOT want action. In hearing that expression Corey used I suddenly remembered the sequence and it dawned on me that he isn't being hyperbolic when he said that. It is the part where Superman has to save someone important and Wonder Woman is fighting DD by herself. They took turns exploding each other. WW clanged her bracelets together and made white explosions. DD answered with his red chest explosions. It really did happen like that. That is not a request for less action just an acknowledgement that the cute reviewer isn't overexaggerating. The whole movie isn't explosions of course but once Wonder Woman arrived the **** hit the fan in a VERY big way
+DaShonuff i know my theatre , revently change all the seats to more comfortable ones , i swear i sleep in almost every movie i go to see , even if its good ill still fall asleep cause of the seats
altogether, this was not a good movie. but it definitely has great moments. i totally fell asleep on justice league and didn't even feel like i missed out on anything
I went in with the lowest expectations imaginable. This movie managed to be even worse than I expected. Aside from the dourness it was an ugly, overlong and unpleasant movie and the dialogue was characters talking to each other in banal platitudinal soliloquies. Zach Snyder should just step down.
i know this comment is like 4 years old but peoples opinions can change after they actually watch a movie. it's not unheard of to be hyped about a film and than be disappointed by it. its not like they are being hypocrites about it they don't need to just blindly love it because they were previously excited for it.
I don't know how people get mad at reviews tbh. Granted I've been watching these guys for like 8 years but it's still petty to unsub or stop watching for an opinion.
Old Sebastian Cervantes The reason people sub in the first place is cause they're entertaining not because they agree with everything so it should be like that
Completely disagree about Cavill. He did what he was supposed to do. Blame the director and the films story. You expect him to be smiling and waving? It would seem even more odd and out of place in this movies tone. This film is too bleak and dark to even have Superman be his normal self. Given the chance, and a better storyline I'm pretty sure Cavill could portray a stronger, happier superman.
+L3ndzo83 Respect your opinion, but I still disagree. He did what was written for him to do, and just that. But, it's all up in the air now. Who knows what'll happen. All I can do is hope my favorite super hero is shown some kind of justice in the future. Just one time at least......
My positive thing to say is that this movie debuted after MOS. If this movie predated MOS, no one would be positive about Henry Cavill pulling off an interesting Supes. Bats upstaged because they dimmed Supes and made him the anti-hero.
I hate that they are bagging on Henry Cavill. I think he's great. The science in Man Of Steel where he says they can trust him because he's from Kansas? He's charming as anything. I fully believe that he is DIRECTED to be dry and boring. Zack Snyder HATES Superman. I bet anytime Cavill put any charm on him, Snyder was there to put him back into place. "NO! NO! NO! More gravitas! More brooding! That's what the people want to see! BROODING!"
Damn already uploaded. Yall been on Point with the timing of these. Sadly I'll have to watch this when i get back. Going to see it with my Boys tonight
+Curtis Johnson Hack Snyder & Michael Bay are the same type of director, they know how to shoot stylish set pieces but they have no fucking clue on how to make a coherent movie.
+doubleP You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Zack Snyder is nothing like Bay. He's more like an action version of Tim Burton and Terry Gilliam.
+Robert Wild Not to the level this movie is. At least those movies at some degree of fun and badassery, and didn't try to be something they shouldn't have. I acknowledge they're not Marvel's best, but what I'm hearing about this movie is making me wish that WB reboots the entire universe and just pretend this movie didn't happen.
Robert Wild Yeah 2 Thor the Dark World and Iron Man 2 could be considered bad but I enjoyed them more as a Marvel fan than the disappointment for how Man Of Steel, BVS, and Suicide Squad disappointed me with the characters I love from DC. None got got the characters right. Thor 2 still has the characters done well. I hated Darcy in Thor 2. I am glad that she is not in Thor 3. Iron Man 2 was a bit of a mess but I liked the fight between Iron man and War Machine. I thought Mickey Rourke was good as Whiplash. Sam Rockwell was a good Justin Hammer. Better than the Justin Hammer in the Iron man animated series.
he said *You trying to drop hints avengers style, didn't even work for the last avengers movie; so why da fuck y'all trying to* lmfao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm interested in knowing how they felt about Wonder Woman and Doomsday and if my assumptions about them being unnecessary and not very good were right on point.
Bruce Wayne I felt like we didn't really have enough time with Wonder Woman for me to feel strongly about her one why or another. I just think she was shoved into the film and had little development. Her film will probably flesh her out more, but yeah Doomsday was ass.
not that you asked MY opinion but ww was pretty damn good I thought. the creation of doomsday was ridiculous but the doomsday action was at least cool to watch.
It's ridiculous that people think the dark and serious tone is why critics are reviewing the movie negatively. It's the fact that the tone is never earned or utilized well that's causing people to complain about it. Movies should only have dark tones if they use them well. And there are many that do. In fact, I think even most cartoons nowadays can utilize dark tones really effectively.
+MaskedScifiFan well considering I've read multiple reviews specifically saying the movie is too dark humorless joyless or not fun (just a few things ive seen critics say about) i think they did take issue with it hell i read one critics review paraphrasing "the movie is dark joyless and humorless ultimately il just wait for the next marvel movie" not even kidding
I blame (a lot) of the problems on Goyer and Snyder. Terrio rewrote the script and created some great lines and monologues; but even he couldn't save the overstuffed narrative, thanks to Snyder's inability to create a streamlined one and the studio demanding they include all the stuff for Justice League
1) I wish the actual Batman vs Superman fight was a little longer. 2) Eisenberg was "Goldblum-ing" the whole movie. 3) What was Lex Luthor's "plan," exactly? Was he being controlled by Darkseid the whole time? 4) I'm calling it right now. Darkseid is gonna resurrect Superman as one of his Generals, and the Justice League will have to team up to fight Superman and bring him back to normal.
1. the movie was never about the fight, so i dont see why it should be longer. it is one of the highlights, but its not about that. its about geopolitics, higher power, consequences of an action, innocence. 2. not sure what u meant by goldbluming 3. the plan is to make batman n superman kill each other. 4. unlikely, but that would be cool.
I disagree with Martin on Henry Cavill being wooden, he was very likable in MOS. I think Snyder directed him to not smile, and look stoic in the scenes.
(Motor4x4Kombat) Marvel: Everybody knows you never go full serious DC: What do you mean? Marvel: Check it out. Francis Ford Coppola's, "The Godfather". Act serious, look serious, not serious. Taking aspect from other crime stories, artistic yep. Not serious. Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey". Slow yes, serious maybe; with too many unexplained thing, but putting in their score Blue Danube and also Sprach Zarathustra? That wasn't serious. DC: ??? Marvel: Christopher Nolan's, "Dark Knight". Complex yes, serious not. You went full serious, man. Never go full serious. You don't buy that? Ask the Wachoskis in "Jupiter Ascending", remember? They went full serious, panned.
I don't mean to sound like a fanboy here, I wanted this movie to be good, but here's why I feel Civil War will be better. 1. There's an actual reason for the conflict. The amount of damage The Avengers have caused, and the deaths that have occurred because of it can't be ignored, and this is what divides Tony and Cap. Both of their reasons are agreeable, but because of this, it tears the team apart when the bill comes into play. 2. There's a believable friendship between Tony and Cap. We've seen these guys hang out, while also bicker and fight at times, but they've still remained friends and as a team. And in the end, this fight may end up killing one of them, or at least one of their comrades. 3.There are still unanswered questions. Even with the trailers that have come up, we only know the main conflict. There's still questions like: Did Bucky really blow up the U.N? How does Tony meet Peter? Who shot War Machine out of the sky? Why is Crossbones there? Who will end up dying? There's still more we don't know, and I like that. Unlike in this movie where you could pretty much predict exactly what would happen just by piecing together the trailers. Now I'm not saying it'll be the best superhero movie ever made. What I'm saying is, I have more faith in that movie, that I did with this one, because they took the time to set it up.
+AshXXMayftw He's probably the master manipulator behind the scenes. Seems like Iron Man and Cap fight for a good chunk of the movie, if not, the entire movie.
I'm not sure if anyone will agree with me here, but after watch Ant Man earlier today, something came to mind. Cross reminds me of Lex. He's a serious business man, he's cruel, he's intelligent, and he's suppose to be what's good for his country, which isn't the case in the end. And he has a badass suit. Like I said, it may just be me, but he was much closer to Lex than this one ever was.
Also, the biggest problem that I have with this movie (out of a list of like 100) is just at its core: The fucking film is called "Batman v Superman:..." Two of the biggest superheroes in American mythology, yet, they're not on equal playing fields. The writers didn't even try to make Clark equal to Bruce in ANY capacity...then with the addition of Wonderwoman only further washed out Clark/Superman. Literally, the only thing Superman did in this is die.
+Plugged Scope the movie was ok at best. I gave it a 6 my friends said 5. there are so many holes it is ridiculous. lex Luther is cringe worthy the end of the fight between batman and super man is horrible. spoiler alert them have the same mothers name as the reason to end the fight is ridiculous. they threw in the other justice League members really badly. I think the flash looks bad. there is entertaining parts but this movie is trying to do to many things at once without successfully doing any of them well.
Okay, let's put it this way. This movie is *The Dark Knight Returns* WITH REVERSE ROLES + *Death of Superman* + *Tomas Wayne Batman* + *Injustice* + *Multiverse*. It was a solid movie, as long as you KNEW what was going on. Snyder knew that when he was doing it. He's good a bringing CONCEPTS to life. Watchmen is a perfect example. So is this.
+Tw1s7 It's okay for a movie to require us to do some thinking and to fill in the blanks ourselves. It's not okay when you have to do all the heavy lifting. The way you describe it, the movie tried to be all of those things you listed, but to the detriment of each, instead of a culmination of them. There's a reason why all of those things you listed are separate stories. It requires great finesse to merge all of those. From the reviews so far, they're not complaining about the individual components. Far from it. They say that it's great. From batman, to the actual fight. They're complaining about the merging itself. The execution. The connective tissue. The manner by which the movie transitioned from point to point, not each point itself.
@@doudymac Its now 2023 and just like in 2016, I'm still praising the 3 hr edition...I thought it was screwed up theatrically but that 3 hr cut delivered
I can't believe they didn't bag on Lawrence Fishburne. I laughed out loud at Perry White. Instead of writing him to be the long suffering hard-news man, they write him to be constantly childishly mocking the staff. It's hysterical because it's so out of the blue. The other people will be talking about real issues and he's mocking them because... he's the boss? It makes no sense.
Wow, all of them gave it a rental. Well, it looks like Batman vs. Superman wasn't the movie DC needed to get them on track. Let's see if Suicide Squad and the DC villains can do it for the DC Universe. To be honest, I was way more hyped for Suicide Squad than I ever was for this movie. And Suicide Squad's got diversity. Already has progress. Also, and this is not just a problem that DC has but is one they are most infamous for, they should start doing things about other heroes instead of running the same characters into the ground to where most people don't even know who half of the heroes (and villains for that matter) truly are.
+You Tuber What they needed is to take time and build their universe organically instead of shoehorning everything into one setup film. I'm not for it usually, but this may have worked better as a two parter Pt. 1 BvS (i.e. setup/conflict) and Pt. 2 Dawn of Justice (coming together vs doomsday).
+gorskiegangsta Yeah, and I also think they should do things about other heroes instead of running the same characters into the ground to where most people don't even know who half of the heroes (and villains for that matter) truly are.
+You Tuber - Sorry dude ... But Suicide Squad is gonna suck @$$ I wish it would be good - but it's going to be ridiculous Question is, how will DC recover from all of this BS ?
Only reason people are hyped for sucide squad is because most people know nothing about SQ going in with an open mind. BVS people have been hyped for years and are well Superheroes to majority if people
+Super Saiyan Videl True. It makes me really concerned because it looks like they may adapt the braindead INJUSTICE story which is a steaming pile that assassinates the Superman and WW characters
Ok, the original Superman dropped and my little 7-year old self wanted to be Superman's girlfriend. I didn't have a clue what that entailed even. Henry Cavill, at an age in my prime, is gorgeous and does NOTHING for me. Zero charm, zero charisma, even his angst doesn't stir feelings of me wanting to heal his emotional wounds. Affleck...yeah he pushed all the buttons. By the time of his Rocky IV workout all the hormones were supercharged. And I never looked at Affleck like that. Also this Lex Luther was the Jar Jar Binks of the movie...horrible.
I would have preferred if Live Wire was the main antagonist in this movie. Or Metalo, Or Parasite, I don't care which one. I just really don't like Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
The main issue for me is synder as the director, he ruined man of steel for me so I'm not surprised lots of people aren't to pleased with b vs s and remind me again why superman is even in this movie, their clearly banking more of batman in this movie which sucks and I feel like it's too dark for superman, superman isn't meant to be so dark, there needs to be a happy medium and not so emo and FYI I think cavill is a great man of steel it's just what he's given to work with which doesn't seem to be much, every big screen lex Luther has sucked in my opinion, too comical to the point of not being able to take them seriously, Michael rosenbaum portrayal of lex Luther is what I'd like to see on the big screen, who can be comical but also sinister and psychotic
This has to be one of the most disappointing movies i have ever seen. I was even looking forward to this more than the last Star Wars movie and they give us this garbage? Hopefully a Ben Affleck directed Batman movie can make up for it. I'm definitely not looking forward to Justice League now though if Zack Snyder is still directing it.
+I'm not Ice Cube. It's crazy how full circle this is. Years ago, Ben Affleck as Batman sucks, people were pissed about it. Now they eating crow because Ben Affleck killed it as Batman and suroassed expectations
lex luthor's most menacing moment was that senate hearing scene, a scene without jesse eisenberg. tells you enough about his terrible performance. full credits to holly hunter for selling that scene and putting jesse eisenberg on her goddamn back.
They're gonna hafta do a Flashpoint paradox and X Men days of future past this whole damn universe. I DON'T want the casting to change at all, but god damn, retcon Snyder outta this shit. Matthew Vaugn would do these films justice.
+Hancock B Word. This alone warrants matinee. Not only that, but remember how Korey freaked out about Batman battling baddies in the warehouse? Yeah, its super awesome.
I don't think Cavill is a wooden actor, I think the problem is how he's directed to act in Superman movies because, as you say, it's clear the writers and director think Superman is boring. They have no real love or understanding of the character, and they overal write how he's supposed to act and direct him to be. With those things stacked against him, Cavill can only do so much on his own with the character.
Nerdwriter's stupid "moments vs scenes" video is the biggest load of BS on TH-cam. Forget that he's talking about DC movies or Zack Snyder and whatever dislike you have for them and try applying his criticism to movies in general. Nerdwriter is trying to say that you can't tell stories through visual imagery, as if you have to have voice dialogue or narration explaining the meaning behind everything. Sorry, but that's pathetically insulting to the idea of movies as art. Nerdwriter is clearly a guy with zero appreciation for the arts and artistic storytelling.
25:03 did anyone also notice, when Superman walked into the Senate hearing, there was this black lady on the right staring at his ass like THAT would save her?
I loved the Doomsday fight, although i felt there were a bit too many explosions from doomsday. And I also loved Wonder woman, and her score, her score was probably the most bad ass one, so to each there own.
I for one did really enjoy this movie. But I gotta say, I think Martin's is the best critique of it I've heard. So many that I've read or heard have just been total rants, but Martin stays calm and actually explains himself and what he didn't like in a nice succinct way. Good for him :)
Why the hell would you let Hack Snyder spearhead this franchise? They've just about knocked themselves back to the drawing board while Marvel is soaring.. These studio heads are so out of touch..
+WolverinesNation92 Please. 10 years from now you will look back at yourself and be embarrassed. This movie is like the "dark" poetry of a teenage Goth with little to no life experience but thinks he understands the world. It is so juvenile but pretending to be adult.
Say it, son! You don't gotta pretend to like it to keep the fanboys happy. A bad movie is a bad movie. And it's pretty clear this is a bad fucking movie.
I just saw the movie and honestly it's nowhere near as bad as critics are making it out to be. I know that Double Toasted and Jeremy Jahn's in particular are being rather harsh towards the film and while their critiques are certainly valid. I believe that in the overall sense of things that the pros far outweigh the cons. The film defitnetly has one of if not the best portrayal of Batman that I have seen. The two major weaknesses of the film are definitely the pacing and the fact that it has the Spiderman 3 syndrome of trying to cram way too much into a film. I felt that Jesse Eisenberg did an admirable job of playing Lex Luthor and while he could have been more intimating and sadistic. I give him credit for a solid effort in the film. Affleck and Irons basically upstage basically everybody in this film including Henry Cavill. In short, the film is far from perfect and does have some shortcomings. That being said, I do believe that this film is far superior to DC'S last effort Man of Steel and it's nowhere near as bad as some of the critics are making it out to be.
Fire Zack Snyder, the guy is a terrible director. He directed Watchmen, Sucker Punch, and Man of Steel and he doesn't learn shit! Warner Bros needs to do a 180 and undo a lot of shit to fix their cinematic DC universe. His creative vision is tainting the DC universe.
+riyuma1990ri As people here have said allready Watchmen was an awesome movie! Npt just cool, but a good comic book movie, dawn of the dead and 300 were awesome too...so no, i wouldn't call him a bad director
17:32 I have to completely agree here, thats the feeling i got watching Cavil the first time in MoS, hes certainly got the look down to a T. Hes got that chiselled jaw, the overall facial features, the build and the suit looks awesome best Superman suit ever imo. But Henry Cavil is one dull fuckin actor, he is very wooden, like in BvS, when everyone in the courtroom gets toasted. Cavil's like 'well shiiiit'. He brings nothing to it, i dont like to compare but if that was Reeves he would be roaring with emotion! And just put that fist out and blast straight up in the air. Christopher Reeves brought so much personality to the role of Superman and Clark Kent.
You guys didn't even mention Wonder Woman. Nice to know she left such an impression. I almost want to go see it just so I can talk more shit about Hack Snyder, but I'd feel bad about giving them more of my money after Man of Steel.
+Peace Master yeah i was surprised too. perhaps in their extended audio review they do. i thought wonder woman was one of the best things in the movie.
+reviewasianfilms Cap prioritize on saving civilians more than just beating the bad guys which what Supes is all about in the first place. He's supposed to be a boyscout not a constipated a-hole.
not at all. monopolisation doesn't work the same way in the movie biz. you bet your ass marvel wanted thus film to do well, it keeps the superhero genre relevant. the more people who see this movie the more people will see civil war and vice versa. the bad reviews for this doesn't help the superhero genre as a whole.
the only people that are happy is that dumb Marvel fanboys. I prefer Marvel more but i really wanted this to succeed. I want DC to catch up to Marvel. I feel really sorry to the DC fans that are disappointed. fyi i came to watch the movie thinking Snyder can't be all THAT bad but he is (other than the visual directing). I mean what the hell is he thinking ! Superman had no charisma, Batman KILLS a lot of people and even the final showdown is guaranteed to have more casualties than MoS. characterization of Batman and Wonder Woman are the ones that got my respect. They were sooooooo good.
I felt that the first half of this movie was an interesting political battle between whether or not Superman belongs on earth and Batman arguing that he does more harm than good, with Lex being just the background villain, who will come in a sequel. The second half just ruins what could have been a solid movie: NONE of Doomsday, Wonderwoman was wasted here....JESUS. Imma just wait for Suicide Squad. ://
Rumour has that WB heard fans wanted Heisenberg to play Lex Luthor, and they thought fans meant Eisenberg.

I think some of your excessive nerd mass globed on the caps lock while you were typing.
The whole movie isn't explosions of course but once Wonder Woman arrived the **** hit the fan in a VERY big way
that really pissed me off
And people looked at me all crazy when I said this movie was going to be disappointing. If they didn't get it right the second time, why bother?
Hey... I like Henry. The writing for him is horrible, though.
C'mon Korey, why you keeping everyone waiting on that My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 review for TH-cam
To be honest I almost fell asleep in the theater
+D Dellz Yup, those recliner chairs they putting in those movies will do that to ya.
+DaShonuff i know my theatre , revently change all the seats to more comfortable ones , i swear i sleep in almost every movie i go to see , even if its good ill still fall asleep cause of the seats
altogether, this was not a good movie. but it definitely has great moments. i totally fell asleep on justice league and didn't even feel like i missed out on anything
ytwtchng Almost? I did.....
I knew this shit was gonna suck from the day it was announced.
+Edward Polenzani lol
+Panther King #Teamblackpanther
+Edward Polenzani So did I, but they got me with those trailers
+Edward Polenzani Hive five Brother!
I was always a little pissed that they decided to take this route. I just hoped it would turn out good...
"I'll be got damned if I let a Bat whoop my ass" lol.I'm weak
I went in with the lowest expectations imaginable. This movie managed to be even worse than I expected. Aside from the dourness it was an ugly, overlong and unpleasant movie and the dialogue was characters talking to each other in banal platitudinal soliloquies. Zach Snyder should just step down.
"banal platitudinal soliloquies"
lmao!!!!!!
johnnythunders78 someone has a word-a-day desk calendar ! Lol jk
The same people that nerded/geeked out at comic con when this film was announced, are the same people shitting on it now "oh the irony".
i know this comment is like 4 years old but peoples opinions can change after they actually watch a movie. it's not unheard of to be hyped about a film and than be disappointed by it. its not like they are being hypocrites about it they don't need to just blindly love it because they were previously excited for it.
There is no characterization to Clark Kent or Superman in any movie Henry Cavill portrayed them in. He's just there.
I don't know how people get mad at reviews tbh. Granted I've been watching these guys for like 8 years but it's still petty to unsub or stop watching for an opinion.
+Louis Nevers fuck, these guys are too hilarious to unsub, thats why I'm subscribed!! :D
Old Sebastian Cervantes The reason people sub in the first place is cause they're entertaining not because they agree with everything so it should be like that
Louis Nevers I think everyone can agree on that because I dont think they dropped subs
+Kegan Terry i think cavill is perfect as superman its just the writers made him dark and dull
+L3ndzo83 Respect your opinion, but I still disagree. He did what was written for him to do, and just that. But, it's all up in the air now. Who knows what'll happen. All I can do is hope my favorite super hero is shown some kind of justice in the future. Just one time at least......
Why would he be happy ? He just got his powers lmao
He just GOT his powers........like 30-plus years ago?
BROODING!"
JazGalaxy so? cavill can talk back and discuss with the director, fight for his character. it is as much his fault as Snyder's
Damn already uploaded. Yall been on Point with the timing of these. Sadly I'll have to watch this when i get back. Going to see it with my Boys tonight
What's ya think of it?
THIS FILM WAS
bullshit
Bullshit
BUUULLLLLSHIT
@@LothianTam he killed himself it was so bad
Zack Snyder the biggest hater of DC
i still appreciate what he did with watchmen
Michael Bay took over at the end
Michael Bay must take over at the end if all Superhero films. cause they all lose their shit at the end
+Curtis Johnson Hack Snyder & Michael Bay are the same type of director, they know how to shoot stylish set pieces but they have no fucking clue on how to make a coherent movie.
People keep on saying that it's incoherent. But it was pretty clear to me
3spooky5me Martin said it best in the review:''the movie is just a bunch of random shit going on.''
+doubleP You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Zack Snyder is nothing like Bay. He's more like an action version of Tim Burton and Terry Gilliam.
So Marvel comes out undefeated yet again. Goddamn DC needs to get their shit together.
To be fair, iron man 2 and thor the dark world kind of sucked.
Not necessarily. This will make so much money that Justice League will happen anyway. Plus I get the feeling suicide squad will be amazing.
+Jman92854 Undefeated and without using Civil War yet. Marvel threw Deadpool and fucked Batman vs Superman up.
Better than the Justin Hammer in the Iron man animated series.
he said *You trying to drop hints avengers style, didn't even work for the last avengers movie; so why da fuck y'all trying to*
lmfao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm interested in knowing how they felt about Wonder Woman and Doomsday and if my assumptions about them being unnecessary and not very good were right on point.
+Static Surge Just my opinion, but I think they were wasted.
+Static Surge I saw the film. WW was good Doomsday was.............. no comment.
Bruce Wayne I felt like we didn't really have enough time with Wonder Woman for me to feel strongly about her one why or another. I just think she was shoved into the film and had little development. Her film will probably flesh her out more, but yeah Doomsday was ass.
+Static Surge Wonder Woman was brief, the rest was CGI.
not that you asked MY opinion but ww was pretty damn good I thought. the creation of doomsday was ridiculous but the doomsday action was at least cool to watch.
Exactly. This is what many people don't understand or don't want to understand.
+MaskedScifiFan i thought this movie did use it well
People/fanboys have selective memory because Critics love the Dark Knight trilogy and that was pretty dark.
+Claire Riri That's because it's Batman
I blame (a lot) of the problems on Goyer and Snyder. Terrio rewrote the script and created some great lines and monologues; but even he couldn't save the overstuffed narrative, thanks to Snyder's inability to create a streamlined one and the studio demanding they include all the stuff for Justice League
I get the feeling Korey will watch this film again once it hits video and realize much of the positive things he said here wasn't that great.
+dbzking02 Number 4 would actually be really cool. High stakes.
1. the movie was never about the fight, so i dont see why it should be longer. it is one of the highlights, but its not about that. its about geopolitics, higher power, consequences of an action, innocence.
2. not sure what u meant by goldbluming
3. the plan is to make batman n superman kill each other.
4. unlikely, but that would be cool.
I disagree with Martin on Henry Cavill being wooden, he was very likable in MOS. I think Snyder directed him to not smile, and look stoic in the scenes.
(Motor4x4Kombat)
Marvel: Everybody knows you never go full serious
DC: What do you mean?
They went full serious, panned.
took new a second but I see what you did there. 😂
took me a second*
What I'm saying is, I have more faith in that movie, that I did with this one, because they took the time to set it up.
ikr
Another unanswered question : Where does Baron Zemo come into play in this movie?
Nathan Lemuel
Oh right, I forgot he was in it. I bet he's the main villain and Crossbones is his second hand man.
+AshXXMayftw He's probably the master manipulator behind the scenes. Seems like Iron Man and Cap fight for a good chunk of the movie, if not, the entire movie.
*****
Yeah. He probably wants the heroes to kill each other.
Imagine how good Benedict Cumberbatch would be at playing The Riddler
I'm not sure if anyone will agree with me here, but after watch Ant Man earlier today, something came to mind. Cross reminds me of Lex. He's a serious business man, he's cruel, he's intelligent, and he's suppose to be what's good for his country, which isn't the case in the end. And he has a badass suit. Like I said, it may just be me, but he was much closer to Lex than this one ever was.
would have been better than jesse
Cross has a reason to fight Ant-Man, cracking Pyms formula. Lex Luthor has no reason to hate Superman, at all.
JuliusC.
Pretty much. They could have just given him the same reason Bruce hated him.
*****
Yeah. My favorite Marvel villains so far are Loki, Cross, and Ultron, mostly because of their personalities.
+AshXXMayftw Red Skull was a good villain.
3:27 is still one of the funniest Korey moments 😂
Shid had me dying
Also, the biggest problem that I have with this movie (out of a list of like 100) is just at its core: The fucking film is called "Batman v Superman:..." Two of the biggest superheroes in American mythology, yet, they're not on equal playing fields. The writers didn't even try to make Clark equal to Bruce in ANY capacity...then with the addition of Wonderwoman only further washed out Clark/Superman. Literally, the only thing Superman did in this is die.
I knew this movie would be bullshit, from the moment they cast Lex. I'll wait for it on Showbox.
movie was actually good
+Plugged Scope the movie was ok at best.
So is this.
Good concepts, bad execution.
I like how Martin's straight up: Because the Editing in this Was Shit.
Thought it was funny the way he said it. lol
didn't think I;d be bored in a movie with this title. Felt like my energy was drained when it was done =/
4 years later after rewatching the extended cut, It honestly wasn't all that bad it kinda aged alright
Yup. We're still talking about it
@@doudymac Its now 2023 and just like in 2016, I'm still praising the 3 hr edition...I thought it was screwed up theatrically but that 3 hr cut delivered
@@AheadOfTheCurve94 👍
yep
+You Tuber why don't you actually WATCH it before you make your judgment.
+You Tuber - Sorry dude ...
But Suicide Squad is gonna suck @$$
I wish it would be good - but it's going to be ridiculous
Question is, how will DC recover from all of this BS ?
Only reason people are hyped for sucide squad is because most people know nothing about SQ going in with an open mind.
BVS people have been hyped for years and are well Superheroes to majority if people
Imagine if Superman was a badass and just didn't give a fuck about anything lol I guess that would be called Hancock.... Nevermind.
+Matt K Wouldn't be that big of a deal. The Justice League has fought more powerful guys than Superman.
+Super Saiyan Videl True. It makes me really concerned because it looks like they may adapt the braindead INJUSTICE story which is a steaming pile that assassinates the Superman and WW characters
Stanlos Wouldn't know because I've never read it. From what I've heard sounds like World War Hulk with Superman.
3 years later....homelander
Ok, the original Superman dropped and my little 7-year old self wanted to be Superman's girlfriend. I didn't have a clue what that entailed even. Henry Cavill, at an age in my prime, is gorgeous and does NOTHING for me. Zero charm, zero charisma, even his angst doesn't stir feelings of me wanting to heal his emotional wounds. Affleck...yeah he pushed all the buttons. By the time of his Rocky IV workout all the hormones were supercharged. And I never looked at Affleck like that. Also this Lex Luther was the Jar Jar Binks of the movie...horrible.
have you seen man from uncle?? he's not a terrible actor, synder is a poor director
OriginalOrigins Yeah, could be the screenplay too. I haven't seen U.N.C.L.E. but I will to compare.
+Vicky Bagley Screenplay worked by Oscar winner who did Argo but you guys know better. ha
+Morris B Oscar winner Affleck did Gigli,so even the best can have their bad days.
That was 10 years ago. He's making moves and getting awards NOW. So that counter holds no weight.
I would have preferred if Live Wire was the main antagonist in this movie. Or Metalo, Or Parasite, I don't care which one. I just really don't like Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
lol, I was waiting to see what Korey's costume looked like
The main issue for me is synder as the director, he ruined man of steel for me so I'm not surprised lots of people aren't to pleased with b vs s and remind me again why superman is even in this movie, their clearly banking more of batman in this movie which sucks and I feel like it's too dark for superman, superman isn't meant to be so dark, there needs to be a happy medium and not so emo and FYI I think cavill is a great man of steel it's just what he's given to work with which doesn't seem to be much, every big screen lex Luther has sucked in my opinion, too comical to the point of not being able to take them seriously, Michael rosenbaum portrayal of lex Luther is what I'd like to see on the big screen, who can be comical but also sinister and psychotic
you guys are honestly the funniest people on youtube, I watch every video lol
This has to be one of the most disappointing movies i have ever seen. I was even looking forward to this more than the last Star Wars movie and they give us this garbage? Hopefully a Ben Affleck directed Batman movie can make up for it. I'm definitely not looking forward to Justice League now though if Zack Snyder is still directing it.
I agree I hope that Synder leaves and Affleck takes charge.
+I'm not Ice Cube. It's crazy how full circle this is. Years ago, Ben Affleck as Batman sucks, people were pissed about it. Now they eating crow because Ben Affleck killed it as Batman and suroassed expectations
+I'm not Ice Cube.
Or if Henry Cavill is still Superman.
yeah, i think Snyder ruined the movie. Wish George Miller was still onboard on making Justice League.
Yo I been watching Double toasted for I think 2 months now and I'm a fan yo these guys are the so funny and just a breath of fresh air ....
lex luthor's most menacing moment was that senate hearing scene, a scene without jesse eisenberg. tells you enough about his terrible performance. full credits to holly hunter for selling that scene and putting jesse eisenberg on her goddamn back.
Give Marvel back their DC rights!
2nd time i've read a comment like that on the web and I couldnt agree more !
They're gonna hafta do a Flashpoint paradox and X Men days of future past this whole damn universe. I DON'T want the casting to change at all, but god damn, retcon Snyder outta this shit. Matthew Vaugn would do these films justice.
I miss the days when their reviews were animated, and under 6 minutes.
+LEO UR i just miss the animated parts
I think Henry Cavill did what he could with what he was given. I thought he was really good in The Man from UNCLE. BvS was a mess.
Ben Affleck is indeed a solid Batman, although the film itself was awful.
Dis. Gon. Be. Good. Dot. Gif.
DVD rental? Word? Seeing Batman and Superman fighting on the big screen alone is enough to justify seeing this in the theater's!
+Hancock B Word. This alone warrants matinee. Not only that, but remember how Korey freaked out about Batman battling baddies in the warehouse? Yeah, its super awesome.
Yeah, I thought the same... But it left me very unsatisfied.. I could have just watched on my tv and it would not make any difference.
It doesn't nearly look as good as you imagine though. That's the problem.
0:15 WTF That got me....XD
LMAO He almost called Jesse Eisenberg Mark Zuckerberg
I think Nerdwriter1's video about Zack Synder's obsession with moments over scenes and why his films aren't good was an excellent analysis.

Are these the spill guys? I always wondered what happened to them I loved their spill reviews.
I for one did really enjoy this movie. But I gotta say, I think Martin's is the best critique of it I've heard. So many that I've read or heard have just been total rants, but Martin stays calm and actually explains himself and what he didn't like in a nice succinct way. Good for him :)
I like that you guys gave a great review and didn't spoil any major plot points. but that's the review really need to be that long.
That is the best movie summary I think I ever heard.
Korey is rocking that perm.
Why the hell would you let Hack Snyder spearhead this franchise? They've just about knocked themselves back to the drawing board while Marvel is soaring.. These studio heads are so out of touch..
+John K HACK SNYDER!!! D:
If the batman kills he should have no villians. since he doesn't bat an eye on killing regular thugs.
+Shaddowkhan And Superman shouldn't have let him go in the name of "Mercy".

Say it, son! You don't gotta pretend to like it to keep the fanboys happy. A bad movie is a bad movie. And it's pretty clear this is a bad fucking movie.
+Brett PGH have you actually seen it? it is pretty fucking far from a bad movie.
His creative vision is tainting the DC universe.
flash point
+riyuma1990ri Watchmen is one of the greatest movies of all time.
MOS and WM were two of the best comic book movies ever made.
nosuchthing8 Exactly.
Looks like The Lego Batman movie will be better.
I can't believe we live in a world where Captain America is a better Superman than Superman!!!!!!
+reviewasianfilms you are so wrong sir!!!

not at all. monopolisation doesn't work the same way in the movie biz.
you bet your ass marvel wanted thus film to do well, it keeps the superhero genre relevant. the more people who see this movie the more people will see civil war and vice versa. the bad reviews for this doesn't help the superhero genre as a whole.
the only people that are happy is that dumb Marvel fanboys.
This guy is hilarious!! This is a spot on review
I was laughing the whole video.
