Your wife is a trooper. I'd never get mine to do all that.
She is a keeper
In 1986 my dad bought this setup but with the 6.2L Diesel. That was our family car and we took many trips in it. He still has it but it's in not much better shape this this one. Love those old square bodies.
Being from northern climes watching you guys from CA & FL work on vehicles in flip flops just cracks me up!! I would have had so many broken toes over the years!!
This is the dad in me, but I love you had your son with you. I can’t wait until my son can come with me to do things like this and help me with cars! 🤘🏻
Brother! Your perseverance is intoxicating, love how you never give up. That’s why this channel is such a success and your builds kick ass!!! YEAH BUDDY 👊
Man I like seeing the real world issues! Broken bolts slow down a lot of projects. I noticed all the neighbors riding by have bland gray suvs! You are like me you liven the neighborhood up!
Yes sir!! I like to keep it interesting. 🤣
As much as I've seen you in Tennessee, I think it's time to pack up and head for the hills. Find a nice quiet spot in the rolling hills of Tennessee with plenty of room to spread out. Our Karen's don't care about working on your vehicles in the front yard.
Your vid cred shot up 1000 points with this one! 😂 Love to see you keep it real and see every win and lose with your builds. You would’ve been that cool car guy all the neighborhood kids would love to hang around. Keep up the awesome vids!
I really love the blue and white/tan... the guy who chose that has good taste.
"I can help you with that!" Love to hear that, get them interested as soon as possible!
Luv those old duallys like your content
Not having the right starter bolts will break the housing like that. The bolts need to be knurled. They keep the starter from moving around and causing a misalignment. And having a stack of shims on hand will help get the starter right where you want it. Square Body stuff.. Really looking forward to seeing more of this truck. It being a 3+3 is super cool.
Wow thats an awesome dually.. Greetings from Africa
That’s a beautiful pair of duallys. Also watching your trailer is exactly why I bought a 10k trailer. Ya never know.
Great episode....hope Karen doesn't call u in for beating wasp 😅😅
We had Freestar radial S-T 108’s on our tandem axle service trailer at the mouse house and we never had issues with them. They got abused. I run them on my single axle also. I like them.
Dually looks like a typical florida truck. Looks like good bones though for a project. Will be watching with coffee in hand 👍
Man this brought back memories. So excited to see this thing in person. Now I have to lower mine 🤷😂👊🏻
Doooo iiitttt!!
@@yeahbuddygarage in the cart now 😂😂
And from now on you shall be known as the wasp whisperer, keep up the great content!
Ok drawing on the fuel line by mouth gets a sub. So brave
She is a sweet ride.
I drive a 79 4door dually. It's white with burgundy and red interior! I love these trucks. I did have a 85 chevy 4door dually 4x4 with a 454 4spd. Motor was bad so all I had was a 283 built with a bunch of expensive parts. Probably 300 plus horse. It ran strong but unfortunately I lost control one winter and it become a parts truck. Great video 👍 I'm now a subscriber
Well I take that back I use to drive my 79 dually but it's probably needs to be a parts rig because it's in really bad shape but I still love it. Would really like to buy that one if your interested in parting with her?
My man, I've NEVER met someone who has a much bad luck as I do but you dang sure have it!
Awesome work man! I loved this one.
Its a cool truck, needs a lot of work, but seems solid enough for a start
I had a similar starter issue on a
454. It went through starters like crazy. The block should have three starter mounting holes. We welded a piece of aluminum stock to the starter were the third hole was. Drilled it out and bolted the third hole. Never had an issue again.
A suggestion, when you get a new starter, get one off a 1997 Chevy, being BB or SB, they had a factory gear reduction, they weigh nothing, spin the engine faster, and are much easier on the battery. Usually cheaper too
Hopefully you're neighbors will love your new truck 😂😂😂😂
I live in Georgia and love to work on trucks, if we were neighbors we would have a blast working on trucks, I live in the country with plenty of space
Definitely need to get some more space when the time is right. Gotta say, I feel ya working on the starter on the trailer, ya looked beat 😅. Keep at it brother, we enjoy all the content!
😂😂 checking fuel line was hilarious there goes that long sleeve shirt
Good job man. I like that about you. You never give up. You can really make something nice with that truck. Hey, do you still have your Duramax diesel…that would be a great towing truck for ya. Keep up the great work. Great video. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!!
I feel the only way to remove bolts like that are welding a nut on and backing it out. I’ve had them break on the hole like that. Build the weld out until you can weld a nut on.
Love your videos keep em up I had a trailer like that I got rid of it and went to a 14,000 lb trailer they always say whatever you think you're going to haul double the weight because you end up pulling stuff that's heavy LOL
Luv the channel and having your family involved is very cool. All the best from a Kiwi in New Zealand.
I like the pace truck it great even better in person at c10 in the city. But the squarebody dually with the two tone and camper shell took this channel from top 5 to my number one. Checking the channel daily for updates.
Much appreciated man!! I have some big plans in the works for this truck
I was cracking up there in dads nice dually that he puts his hard work into an jr has his feet on the seat head rests but I get it kids will be kids. I like the purchase that thing could look sick
That's one big pick up truck when they say America love everything big you lot are not joking 😂🤣 that trailer looks like it's going to snap in half your going to have to do work to that 🤣😂 i build my own being a welder fabricatior but with a bit of work its going to be a nice truck if the karen will let you work on it 😂🤣 hello from the uk 🇬🇧
RIP to the flywheel.. haha.
You're going to see a big difference between a 79 454 and your obs 454 . You're going to love the 79 454
They sell mini starters with 3 bolt holes :)
Love the k5 blazer
Certainly keeps a great attitude thru adversity!
Great project hood old big block. No mpg but tougher than most.
A little lesson in equipment. Five-lug trailer axles have a 3,500-pound capacity, making that trailer a 7,000-pound gross vehicle weight trailer. Gross means total for the load and the trailer. You said the trailer was maxed out, but by calculations, it was actually about 2,000-2,500 pounds over weight!!!
I'm from Russia, very cool video, respect
We appreciate the things you do for us to see an the videos you make but you do have one of the best jobs in the world being able to work on trucks and go to truck shows so any shitty jobs you go through its gotta be worth it .yeah buddy
Maybe the starter needs to be shimmed up cause that noise its making is horrendous
@yeah buddy garage, that big block looks like it has the extra bolt hole. There are 2 different starter bolt setups.
That is a cool looking van.
Hi from Washington State...
Getting a citation for having an old non-running car is beyond me. That’s unthinkable here in europe
We will get them for flat tires too. And if you take the tire off to bring to a shop and leave the vehicle on a jack stand unattended you’ll get a citation for that.
I never tow above 60mph. Living in the UK that is the maximum speed for towing and for any vehicle above 7.5 ton.
I had broken starter bolt like that once had to fully drill it out and put a helicoil in the block stayed good for many years until I got rid of the truck
Kool New Project Hauler @ Yeah Buddy Garage Squarebody Dually With Old School 70s Style Toppper Can't Believe The 454 Giving U Problems.
Yep now days social drivers might miss something pack group mentality getting worse every year I just do more stuff late in summer in middle of night especially with tourists or holiday season weekends etc
Great succeess Borat style
You and Puddin always fighting with them flyin devils lol 😆
Man i was just watching this video for the umpteenth 100 time, but just wondering why when a guy is getting hurt or stung and your wife or girlfriend is helping out they always think it is so dang funny. But hearing your wife laughing at you swatting the wasp did bring a chuckle to the video. Highly enjoy each and every one of your video's keep up the great channel and stay safe brother.😂
Oh man, I wish you all the best
Cool video yeah buddy. Find a duramax for that old unit for the engine swap is my vote. Looking forward to see how it comes
Loved the video brutha! You won't find any vid of a TH-camr fighting realistic situations 🐝. YEAH BUDDY!!!😎
Wanted to be a mechanic when I was younger. Was working at a garage. Little old lady wanted a new fuel tank. She filled it when she made the appointment. Car still had 98% of the gas in the tank. Swallowed some trying to syphoning it. Then it spelt all over the floor. After that I learned I didn’t like working on other peoples stuff and didn’t become a mechanic. I don’t like dealing with fuel related problems. I had to drain a tank on a truck I bought had diesel in it. I used a fish tank hand pump so I wouldn’t have to syphon it.
Thats funny. I'm like that crewcab looks familiar. Then when you pulled out on the street. I was thinking all the neighborhoods look like Ballards
Transport of dually are tough... no matter how you do it. Mine sat in Washington, 3,000 miles from home for 2 years. I ended up putting my 86 dually in my semi truck moving van... it was interesting. I just made 2 videos on my channel of dually work.
@@workingmansrestorations7071 heck yea man!! I’ll check out those videos.
@yeahbuddygarage awsome... give me some criticism... I been working my channel for a long time. I can't upload consistent though. I move people's household goods cross country, so I am only home every 3 or 4 months...
Badass pair of duallies! What size trailer do you have?
Under inflation on trailer tires will kill your tires make sure you inflated to the maximum tire pressure on your trailer tires so they can handle the weight
😎Awesome job
Wasp flying, sparks flying, fly swatter flying 🪽 that's entertaining 😅
1st time watching, and this video is dope. Ok, I'm subscribing. I gotta see how far you going to take this dually truck .
Much appreciated!
Think the teeth are chewed up on your fly wheel, definitely got a one hellva a project that will be a awesome truck
wow man love that thing !🤩
Make it nice driver with modern running gear. Make it like it was a couple years old. And you don’t have to worry about it. Just enjoy.
Drill that bolt out where it’s thin walled as possible with out getting into the threads then run the easy out
The dually is rad!
That was me @25:23 😂😂 yeaaaah buuuddddddy
Very reason city living has never been an option I would even consider. Nobody is gonna tell me I can’t park or work on stuff on land I paid for. My nearest neighbor is 5 miles away and live on dead end road. If I see a vehicle they better be coming to see me or have a good reason. I get a few people by during duck season but the rest of year. I can count the people I don’t know on 1 hand with several spare fingers
Also you can bump up one tire size and go to a 225 75 15 and you can put Carlile on your trailer and their e-rated tires so they are heavier the other tires you probably got on your trailer right are C rated tires and they only hold about 1600 lb of Peace normally
That starter needs proper adjustment bad... that's probably what broke the starter bolt at first... and make sure you use actual starter bolts. Makes a world of difference
Very nice truck 😍👍
عمل رائع وسيارة جميله .. متابعك من العراق .. تحياتي لك
That blue is ghetto fabulous. Go back to the original colors for midstream and interior.
HOA shenanigans 😂
One best thing I did was homemade tow bar on line is vehor on sale cheaper with shipping then harbor freight on sale price
Grew up in one like that guna be really cool to see what you do ok bud later
Automobile archeology: When you do digging through an old vehicle and discover a number of certain and same parts, you know something's up. Let's say 2 or 3 water pumps in the trunk. Uh-oh. Three starters stored in the back seat. Oopsee. A set of head gaskets. Oh, no.
I drive this gmc I can work on it drive in style the square bodies are beautiful trucks
that a very nice truck
Love you're Trucks you have good taste 👌 Astro Van is Rad all you need is a Try Axle Square body S-10...... Did you ever play Pro Football?
Man, I wish I played pro football!!
There's another bolt hole straight across from the other one you might be able to use
This is a odd question I think but I been thinking about finding me a dually like urs but how do the ac cool in the truck with it being hot out?
Try a starter where the bolts are straight across from each other that might work
As rar as people not slowing down or moving over... welcome to my world. I drive a tow truck for a living, people pass just inches away from my head at highway speed on a daily basis.
Nice Truck
Buy trailer specific tires and change them out every 3 years.
Name that truck Murphys law
That truck is a heap.
I have a good hood that you need that’s no longer being used and it’s in great shape
What’s the plan for this dually?
My opinion, you’d be better off to start with a nicer truck. But I love the squarebody duallys.
If you hate the gas mileage in your 93 dually, you will really hate it in this thing.
Looking forward to more videos on this one!
hope you get a country estate soon get out of the city and get the kids running around like heathens lol they will love it
If you don’t mind me asking, what bed cover do you have on the dually?
Karens. I used to have a 1980 Sierra Grande 3/4 ton PU.
If you’re going to build this I suggest getting rid of several of your trucks. But I’m sure you know how much stuff cost.
Go ahead and do a 6.0/4L80 swap.
