Really good reminders in this podcast, but I particularly appreciated the redlining’ analogy and also ‘use the current energy you have to create more energy’ ; it makes perfect sense,!

Using energy to create energy is a really useful tip.

Another podcast to affirm that you are not alone. This is the 4th free one I have listened to, and so far they have have all resonated with me. One point to make on this one.
You don't have to be a 'perfectionist' to feel this way, I certainly am not. However ,what I do is put pressure on myself to do things that I presume others think I should be doing, whether it be work, going for a walk or just talking. It's 'my journey' and only I can tailor it to my symptoms on a daily basis no matter what the pressures think I feel from external sources.

Thank you so much for posting this video today. I feel like I’m in that area where I’m trying to replenish my energy and because I keep pushing and crashing not as bad as I used to but I still am I think focussing on really restoring that energy by doing something smaller, and restorative as opposed to going for a long long walk. And I think really being mindful not going to far past, so I’m in the red line, so I don’t crash and go past the other line. I’m still learning to not use all my energy up. 🙌🙏💕 19:52

Pushing & crashing burnt out can’t over do it as I need rest & recovery. Not always easy for a mum to rest all the time I function only with antidepressants & had dealt with health issues & trauma . Fight flight freeze .
    Anxiety & depression.
    I have improved quite a lot since 2017 & worked through a lot .
Realised that I can’t just push push push then collapse. Working on my thoughts through regular meditation.
    Thankyou 🙏💐🌼

    Great Ahil! My takeaways:
use what energy we’ve got to create more energy!
    Accept the resistance to resting
Ask myself the question- why am I redlining?
    Thank you both!

Personally I think this is a difficult one, as when you have 24/7 pain due to other conditions, ie Fibromyalgia/Osteoarthritis with CFS.
Finding a Baseline is extremely problematic for me as I'm always in pain, so starting doing things already in pain, it's not until I've finished what I'm doing that I know I've overdone it the next day when I have a flare up of have crashed...

Thanks Ahil and Toby for this clear and essential episode ❤️
Yeah redlining instead of finding the sweetspot..For me I feel like it isn't that much about perfectionism in the first place..
it's more a conditioned behaviour from the years before CFS - a maladaptive stress-response in the form of overcompenation (overworking, overexercising & other
..overs 😅) to cover up other aspects/ needs in my life which currently aren't met. When you're conditioned with this kind of behaviour the same can happen during illness..it is a slow and steady relearning process to not allways go to the limits and beyond.
Like Toby uses to say: You can't heal with the same behaviours which got you here in the first place🙂 love that.
So meanwhile I want to be compassionate with myself because I know these behaviours served me in some way at a point in my life even if they weren't healthy.
So keeping an eye out for the 'grey wise realm' 🙏🙂

    This video was so brilliant
    I took so many notes
    Ahil and Toby thank you
I’m needing to really focus and do what you are saying properly because I’m good with it then I push and crash
Everything you said was so on point for me
I rest do the breathing feel better then try not to do too much yet somehow still do
I’m improving yet the point where you saiid ENERGY GAINERS OR DRAINERS
Spot on - I watch little tv and used to work in the justice system ( and hope to again ) but when I’m caught in watching a drama on tv I’m like why do I watch that ? It’s just dressed me out so it’s such a great reminder
Also I loved that Ahil said it’s ok to have a responsibility while u recover
There are a couple things I can’t change so it’s so crucial I do what I can where I can but to hear I can still move forward with that as Ahil did with study commitment helps a lot
Sorry to write a lot just letting you know where you helped specifically
I do yoga I chant my spirit is joyful primarily yet Ahil you first comment on fainting
Yes I can relate although not happen much and it’s such an inspiration to see how well you are doing
Toby you are just a star I love the calm cool way you speak and lift people and you both look so healthy
    Thanks so much
I will at this stage commit to the free videos
    Thank you 💛💛🙂

Thank you Toby and Ahil! I really loved listening to your video! Good tips! I have come a long way in my recovery. However, I still push and crash! I love exercise and being outdoors. I just find it hard to gauge where my baseline is! Hence the crashes! I am trying so hard to work on this but still failing…

Thankyou for charing these important practices,I will definitely try.
My problem is I have trouble resting because I feel like a have allot of energy,so doing nothing in those moments is hard because it brings anxiety to do nothing since a have loads of energy, afterwards I crash real hard and I'm filled with body pains and 0 energy.
I will try the red line thing, and create more energy when I actually have energy.
Feels good to know I'm not alone.
Good luck to all of you!😘

Resting isn’t lacy it the only thing that makes me feel bit better at times. But I am partly bedbound. With it. Now have diabetes and so overwhelmed because you’re meant to get exercise which due to mobility and chronic fatigue not able to do boxing do swimming swimming on a better day xx

thank you. I've made some notes. I've created my own energy baseline diagram and will really focus on energy gainers instead of energy drainers. 💯

I wish I could work less. I feel I could recover much better because once in awhile I have to work too long and I feel it hurts me getting better.

@Cathy Coppin He charges £285 per month. Hence why I have had to search out alternatives as I am also in the UK. I now get weekly group coaching sessions online via Simon Pimenta who runs ME/CFS explored. These are done on what you can afford to pay per month rather than a set price. I also did Pamela Rose baseline training and 3 week fatigue rescue course. Both are brilliant and do free consultation chats. I hope this helps.

I can relate to this. I only started really recovering when I joined the program and learnt that rest means rest!! I felt lazy at first until I realised I was improving so much by resting instead of pushing. Great to hear your testimony Ahil. You are a great asset for the team!!
