    I've had my 2020 Tradesman for 2 weeks now and I love the truck! Super comfortable and cruises on the
    highway with confidence. For a basic truck you get everything you need. I also am coming from an F150 and the power of the 6.4 Hemi is awesome. I purchased my truck mainly for the increased payload over the F150, hauling a pallet of
    sod this weekend was a whole different experience in the Ram. I've found that stepping up to a 3/4 ton truck now gives me the confidence to haul heavy and pull a trailer at the same time easily. You can push the limits of a 1/2 ton truck no matter what brand very easily.

      Agreed. Much better experience in towing and hauling items in the bed. Glad I upgraded.

    I have the exact same truck with an 8’ bed.
    I pull a 8500 pound RV with 1000 pound side by side in bed.
    Awesome truck, no issues. 10 mpg towing, 15 - 16 driving.
    Off road a little rough on bumpy roads, more so than my 4 wheel drive Chevy truck.

    • @terryprevatt
      @terryprevatt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I looked at an 8' bed, but it was just a little too long to be my daily driver. The truck is great so far. Yea, the suspension is tight, but very manageable.

    I just got a 21 ram tradesman 2500 with 6.4 and love it with the tow technology in it. Last truck was a 07 ram megacab with 5.7 with 250,000 miles with only one problem with a emission ground wire , with all all the years owning it
    Now My son own its with almost 280,000 miles (Its just how you take care of it.)

    I bought a 2019 Trademans 2500 6.7 Cummins in Patriot Blue with the off road package brand new last summer. I love the truck with one exception...the screen. Mine is the smaller version of yours. It doesn't bother me in daily driving but when I do see other trucks I envy those with larger screens. Overall I love the truck and got it for an absolute steal at 45k in New Braunfels TX. I had visited the lot previously and had a good salesman. He threw in the sidesteps and spray in bed liner too which was a nice touch. Oh, and the stock wheels and tires are slowly starting to look a bit basic. I'm not a flashy guy but a bit more aggressive tread and wheel would make it pop. Overall I love the truck and don't regret it at all.

      So far the truck has been great for me. You got a great price on that!
      I wanted the larger screen for Apple CarPlay. Easy to play music and use navigation from my phone.

    • @sonsofliberty3081
      @sonsofliberty3081 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mopars in general have always been pretty flexible for package options. Like my 2016 ram 1500 with 345ci. It's am Express model so like the tradesmen but no chrome, all body color except mirrors, only chrome is full length step pipes. Came with spray on liner, bed lights, duel exhaust and tow package. Tow package is class 4 hitch, 3.92 rear, and trailer brake. Factory tow raiting of 10,640lbs and it's a crew cab. 6 seats. 4wd. I use the hell out of it hauling hay, horses, or whatever. Pulled out stumps, etc. Nothing but oil and tires. Oh, I put air bags inside the coil springs in the rear, then routed them to the the license plate to fill up. You can get ones rated for 1k lbs for 100 bucks, 2,100 lbs for 125. I got the heavy ones and only run them at 5psi until I'm hauling or pulling. 50psi max, if I'm pulling 8k lb trailer for example I load the bags to 25 psi. A 2in squat makes the truck level, so whatever psi gives me the 2in squat that's what it's at. The 2in seems to ride the best and handle well. Gm is making stuff in china and shipping the bowties here, so I won't buy anything from them again. Ram and ford both opened up new plants in mi and oh.

    • @Threesixtyci
      @Threesixtyci 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not all tradesmen come with sensors... it's an option that dealers just typically order for the truck.

    Only Ford has the keypad on the outside to lock and unlock the truck. As long as you get an XLT or higher. Very nice exclusive thing for Ford. I miss that from my F150 XLT 2.7 V6 I used to have, but I enjoy my Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 hemi much better.

    I bought my 21 Ram 2500 Tradesman CC 4x4 6.4 with the shorter bed in June. Still under 500 miles so not much use yet. Had a 18 F250 SLT CC 4x4 6.2 gasser with the shorter bed. My only issues with the F250 were 1) death wobble which was fixed under warranty and then that warranty coverage was extended free of charge and 2) would not fit in my garage. Traded F250 for a Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 CC which my son now has and that's when I got my 2500. 2500 rides smoother than F250 and fits in my garage.

    The 6.4 hemi V8 has reliability issues, the lifters and the cam shaft cause issues in higher mileage and are brutally expensive when you need to have them fixed. The repair job will cost about 5k dollars. See this video for an example of the issue: th-cam.com/video/ScqUwzT71gY/w-d-xo.html
    What are your thoughts on this? I only bring this up because I would love to pull the trigger on this truck but the longevity of the engine is very troubling.

      I have seen lifter issues in some videos, but a lot of the time I feel the lack of maintenance is the issue. Not that the oil isn't being changed, but the type of oil plays a factor. My plan is to change oil every 5k miles at the dealer and I feel confident that I'll be fine. Changing it myself will cost about the same and at the dealership I'll get a tire rotation thrown in, so that's why I prefer bringing it in for service. Bottom line, I'm not concerned.

      They are hardly any issues with this problem after 19. Any like the op said a lot of trucks didn’t have proper maintenance. Or Using the wrong weight oil . These need to have 0-40 pennzoil premium synthetic . My last one had 195.000 no lifter issues . I have a 2020 now

      @@starmc26 how so, I am trying to gather information from people who actually own the trucks. This has nothing to do with speaking ill of them but rather getting information. FCA doesn't post any official information about this issue so how else do you suppose someone would determine how widespread the problem is?

      @starmc26 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@albertatundra I DO own a 6.4 hemi power wagon, and HAVE owned a 5.7 RAM.... You're spewing junk hearsay, OLD information. FCA already remedied the cam and lifter issues with upgraded needle bearings and different cams, in 2016. What do you wanna say next, that the transmissions have issues?... Because that's a resolved issue since 2009.

      Mine had the chrome package too. I took it to a local paint shop who specializes in painting over chrome using a special acid to help it bind. He painted the grill, front and back bumpers for $1100. Problem solved.

      Its to be expected with such a heavy truck. I recently had a Jeep Wrangler that got 12 mpg, so 15+ is fine with me.
