  • After working for 40 years, Kathleen found herself with no pension and no job, Her age and physical limitations made getting a job very difficult so she took her Social Security. Having only $1000 a month from SS to live on meant the quality of her life would be very low if she tried to continue living in an apartment.
So she did the only logical thing, she moved into her car and went camping (something she loves)! Best of all, it's not just a trip a year, camping is for the rest of her life! Now she has found a very high quality of life she can actually afford and she's looking forward to the rest of her life as the glorious adventure our lives were meant to be!

Mixed feelings. I'm glad Kathleen is enjoying the life so far. But I'm also mad that folks work all their lives and get nothing at the end.

If I was wealthy I would buy her a van. She never even complained! God bless her! 💕

    It’s 2024 and Kathleen is 70 years old if she’s still with us…I wonder how she’s doing…

Kathleen is inspiring. I have a car similar to hers. I am retired. It is good to know I could survive in my car if I ever lost my apartment. I hope she gets her van so she can be more comfy. I admire her resiliency. I hope she continues to enjoy nature and building connections and support in thr nomadic world. Bless her.💗

You are saving lives with these videos. Seriously, my friend is in her 70's in ill health and living in her car. Now she is no longer planning her suicide, instead she is planning on getting her car fixed and meeting up in AZ one day. She tells me her depression has lifted and she has a reason to continue living because you are helping provide the "how to do it" at any stage of entry. Please keep up this profound work, especially for older women who are afraid and feeling helpless you are provinding the right level of encouragement and compassion!

I didn't realize the video was 5 years old I pray she's okay

Somebody needs to buy her a van. Amazing how creative she is surviving this way. Working hard all her life she deserved a nice size pension and a better place to live. May God watch over her and I hope better things come her way.

Few realize that today's vehicle dwellers have more in common with the Apollo astronauts than they do with the notion of the common hobo. Today's business tactics have created an entire population who is barely making it. Kathleen, you're a pioneer, training in full gravity... and an inspiration. Others will make it because you found a way. Thank you for your courage.

What a great person this lady is. Did the right thing, what she was supposed to do and kept getting the shaft. Hoping she is happy now and that Bob could give us an update on this wonderful lady.

  • @AuntieGossips

I’m 63 with a plethora of health issues, they repoed my car when I was getting my heart stint. I can’t imagine saving for a van , I get 800 a month and rent a room for $750 a month. God bless her and her freedom

Kathleen is a gem. What a lovely attitude! I'm afraid I'd be crying myself to sleep at night but Kathleen is counting the stars and her blessings. Thank you, Bob, for your encouragement and support.

I was very, very depressed lately, and was not sleeping well, I couldn't do anything productive. Then I watched these videos and I smiled..the positivity is contagious... you really just have to keep going and keep exploring... you can't just wither away. You have to keep moving and treat life as an adventure. Thank you for this! Such brave, independent people!

I very much enjoyed this interview. She has worked hard for a long time and has found a very simple and doable retirement life. So glad she is happy. I hope to be able to see an update on her soon. Thanks

God bless her for her positivity. I think I'm about the same age ( I'm 62) and worry about repairs my house needs. I have a good pension and 3 grown up children living with me. I gave my bedroom up for my oldest boy so he can have his son stay over and because he works shifts, but I have a comfortable single bed down one end of my living room. She's certainly given me perspective, particularly I'm grateful for my bathroom and washing machine!
