I was just talking about this yesterday. I didn't know other people online were talking about it too. I might need to move out in order to live the life that I want to live. So it's not that I'm boring I just live in a boring country with NPCs. There is a good type of boring and a bad type of boring. America is the bad type. The bad type of boring is the type of boring where it's either drama or dry. The good type of boring is where there is peace and happiness and satisfaction and with not much drama. Its also important not to make boring decisions. America is a boring place so it's important not to make mainstream decisions because those are the places where people and places are probably the most boring. Boring isn't inherently bad btw. When I use boring I mean it in the negative tense. I think people expect me to be boring and be the same my entire life. I'll prove them wrong.
I moved to the Netherlands 3 years ago from the US & I haven’t looked back. There is nothing about the US I miss except maybe the food. There is nothing normal about the US, and if you are normal you will feel insane living there, I truly believe

@@Thecaptain1898 assuming you’re talking about leaving the US, in the Netherlands you can get a visa either as a highly skilled migrant (e.g. as a researcher, or medical specialist) if you can find a company to sponsor you, or you can get a visa as a self-employed person, which is easier, but more costly and requires you to have your own income
My 1st night in Manchester England, 4 different Women approached me asking me where I was from, made more friends that night than my entire 36 years in America. I saw ppl from different backgrounds dancing together in the streets having a blast. America has to be the saddest most isolated place on earth, no exaggeration
Wow! That’s great! I heard that England and the rest of the UK is pretty isolating and depressing too, but I guess it’s not as bad as the USA. I have a lot of distant relatives in Manchester, London and Wales, but I never had the interest to go to the UK because I assumed that the UK would have the same isolating feel as the USA. Overall America has always been a depressing place. That country just feel like you are in some giant Corporate institution bubble what, that they decide you're future.
Nowadays most Americans are having more stress because of the rising cost of everything, which means that they need to work more harder than decades ago just to be able to survive. Something as minor as a bad cold causing someone to be home from work for a few days could lead to serious destitution, this is is especially compounded if jobs don't provide employees with paid time off or sick time or make the process of attaining them arduous and complicated. Not to mention that therapy and other mental health care options are out of reach for many - the money needed for them is used for other things instead. All of these things could put people on edge and people start getting paranoid. Unless the government do something to help the working class people that are struggling, than maybe we would see a positive change.
During the Great Depression Americans stuck together during hard times. Social isolation is a modern issue. We need to rely on each other not the government if there is ever going to be change.
because people are considered weird for socializing. Going up to somebody and saying "how are you" or introducing yourself is considered weird in this society
The more I started traveling, the more I notice social life in the U.S. is depressing. Every time I go out of the country and come back, I get depressed, every one walking around highly stressed. I used to greet everyone I came across till I realized it’s really annoying to people, so I stopped. I slowly planing my exit.
Bro if someone who wasn't trying to cause a problem said hey on my way to the corner store, shit, I'd stop my walk and find a seat if it means a good convo.

It’s because America has 2 major issues , materialism and self esteem problems.. you see people were sold the lie that MATERIAL and SOCIAL STATUS things would make them feel good. They were wrong… ppl here have no CHARACHTER any more .. charachter and personality takes time to build.. it’s not an over night thing. So while they were chasing money and status to soothe the ego, they completely missed the ball on feeding the soul and the heart.. even on feeding the mind because when you talk to ppl you see there are other walks of life.

The feeling of being a high and mighty noble sneering down at the dirty pathetic peasants is so addicting to Americans. @@47nodoubt What baffles me is the NW has a large Asian and Hispanic population and that despite the varied demographics it’s still nearly impossible to make friends. Yet, Asian and Latin countries are the ones expats seem to go to for the ease in making friends. My assumption is the area attracts the elite regardless of demographic background. If one is not at the elite level then one is seen as inadequate or subpar.
I promise it’s not you man it’s society and the younger generation. I try to talk to people at work and even try to do fun things after work but no one wants to do anything. It’s a very angry society and we need to divide the country it’s needed at this point honestly. People on the right are more old school but we can’t socialize bc you never know if they’re a nutter or not and you could say the wrong thing now and be cancelled and lose everything so people avoid other people. This has all been designed this way to destroy society and stifle birth rates.
Really? I thought in the Netherlands in was very social since the dutch are always riding their bikes or walking, so they interact with people a lot more. Whereas in the US, Americans are either inside or in the cars driving. I did get the chance to live in Spain for 6 months and I always saw people hanging outside and having a great time socializing. I guess that’s not all over Europe?
The invisible thing is so real. Like the most conversation I get when I greet people is a simple "hey" or "how are you?". Then they just walk away or go about their day. You have to go out your way to have a simple talk with someone, especially with technology.
That's the first problem. About the second problem that was before technology when people said hi all that, it was still shallow, you couldn't connect with people easily and consider them friends on first day like in Brazil or Guinea for example. America always had a problem with closedness to stranger and hesitant attitude to let loose and enjoy the company of people, live with heart and simplicity not brain and fear. Social media just pressed the endgame button. But don't get me wrong: white people in America were always alienating and frigid to each other.
You know what, I absolutely hate absolutely American society: that in order to make friends I always have to go out of my way to put myself out there just to make friends because no one else makes an effort to do the same, everyone treats each other like strangers, not like a community
@joshuabuchanan1141 yep, stranger-danger. And friends is seen as a treasure to find. Like no, it should be stranger-encounter and friends are baseline, a dynamic wave you ride on organically, moving through newfound friends and having your core of old friends without thinking the two things are mutually exclusive as in a perceived choice of being shallow or "closed off" by choice because you hate opening yourself to new people. you can't have enough connections, the only real limiting factor is your time and priorities to entertain those connections. But I think here people have a self-ingrained belief that if they care about you they are commiting to you and sacrificing a part of their current reality. Like that's how much love is reduced to exist in a contract-like mindset, like romantic relationships. People aren't giving because they aren't receiving, so it really is a vicious situation of mass mediocrity that needs concerted reversal to make sense.
I agree with this man. I never felt like i belonged here, with any of my family, classmates, teammates, colleagues or coworkers... Im always kind, polite and understanding with people, and all i get is negativity or hostility from them. So i just stay to myself, dont go out, dont talk to anyone. It only leads to confrontation. @@AlaaNasinza It has changed in the past few years since covid and during the Biden-Harris Administration. There is a lot of uncertainty; inflation is eating away everyone's ability to save for retirement and stretch their money out more. The job market is looking shaky, AI is growing at a rate that scares many and it could render several jobs irrelevant in the future. The housing market is getting out of control to where people in the middle class are becoming increasingly unable to buy homes, even with financing from the bank. The vehicle market is insane with new cars costing more each year and with the average consumer being unable to buy a new car with a loan from the bank without being unable to afford to live in several other areas due to rising costs of goods and the rate of inflation. Tax rates were increasing. All of this combined to erode the middle class of America, the bottom line of the economy. Time will tell if the next presidential administration can help repair some of the damage that has been done to the us economy and the standard of living for the average American, as a average American I can only hope that things improve in the next four years. If I were you, I would wait a little longer to move here because right now it is really hard, even in rural ares, especially in the major cities. If things improve here, I would encourage people to come, but do your research on the cost of living in certain states and cities in america. Some rural areas are doing okay inspite of the rising costs of living. If you were to ever move here, rural america is pretty nice and a lot more welcoming people live in the rural midwest. The cost of living situation is better in the rural areas as well, if a person is highly skilled and has a job that makes anything above 70k a year, it is a very comfortable lifestyle. Only thing is that the rural midwest can be pretty boring and nothing ever happens in small town america. States like oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Arkansas and missisipi just to name a few.
It’s VERY hard to talk to women and date. The amount of women I’ve attempted to approach and talk to stare at me like deer in headlights. It makes me uncomfortable because it seems like my presence is making them uncomfortable.
That's the aura and vibe that I get from every single female that I see whenever I'm out in public pretty much everywhere I go, I can't stand how females act towards other people when they're out in public
You’re spot on, everyone is moving so fast. It’s jarring after you graduate college, because in college it’s highly encouraged to put yourself out there. I met my best friends just by going up and talking to them. When you graduate it’s like people are zombies, there’s no effort. I was always the one hitting people up to hang out, only for there to be flakes and crickets on their end.

Young man, you are leaps and bounds ahead of most of your fellow Americans, in the way you are able to think and see. I'm also an American, but have been living abroad since 2016. First Mexico, then Thailand, and now Cambodia. I went back to the US this past June, for a month, to visit my mom, and after only 2 days, I couldn't wait to get back home to southeast Asia. It wasn't my mom, but just the whole atmosphere in general. The energy itself is toxic to me. Mom asked me why I won't move back home, and I was just straight up with her. I told her I can't live as comfortably in the US. I'm 51 and live on my military retirement, which is more than enough. I rent a great 4 bedroom/4 bathroom house for $350 per month. My total living expenses are less than a grand per month. My rent alone in the states was more than that. The remainder of my income, which is more than 5 times my current living expenses, I just stack it, or I invest it in my music making hobby. I have turned one of my spare bedrooms into my own recording studio. I would never be able to live like this in the US. I've never been happier. Keep doing what you do, and hopefully you can encourage others to see the light.

I’ve definitely been feeling invisible and depressed here, America has a lot of opportunities when it comes to money and I’m greatful for it but it’s a lonely place, especially as an average guy. Now I see why people come here to make their money and get out.
America isn’t for extroverts at all. Many people who live in expensive cities work about three jobs and would rather rest on their time off. Thankfully, I’m an introvert and enjoy my solitude immensely. I don’t know how I would survive if I was an extrovert. I will, however, greet people kindly and engage in small talk. I never expect more than that and would be very surprised if anything more happened. Thanks for talking about this topic though.
It's the opposite. Great for extroverts, amazing for sociopaths, shitty for introverted people. We are built to handle loneliness better than others but being lonely isn't healthy long-term.
That’s the culture here in NY. Especially the Cities. I’ve lived here all my life and as a introvert to begin with, I love it. I enjoy being left alone. I will say, the hack to talking to someone in NY is by making observant comments. For instance, I was at a Japanese, take out restaurant. It’s always packed in there. There was a girl who ordered and went off to the side to wait for her food and she went on her phone. I told her that wasn’t a good idea because they can mess up your order, forget your order or give your order to someone else. She laughed and said all three has happened to her in that spot, then I asked, what’s so important on your phone that she would risk being inconvenienced for. She laughed again and said, nothing. I told her if your going to be on your phone, at least be on it for something important like taking down my name and number! She laughed again and took down my name and number. We hang out from time to time still, mostly platonic. Doesn’t matter if you are trying to talk to a girl or make a male friend. That type of interaction works best in NY.
It is what it is. I spent 10 YEARS homeless walking the streets and sleeping at parks and train stations. Not a single person has ever extended a fig leaf or asked me if im okay. Not one single person, EVER. I finally found my way off the street totally by my own voliton. It is what it is
Damn man. Congrats for making it. I can't begin to imagine what that was like but I am glad you got off the street in the end. I bet you have a good story to tell, maybe you should write a book or talk to some people to spread awareness about homelessness and addressing homelessness in this world.

The invisible factor is very much a thing in Northern California (San Francisco) as well. Its depressing. So many people here seem passionless, apathetic, hopeless, etc. The only things they care about out here is making money, doing drugs and loitering.
@YesNo-qb9vl Instead they are loitering everywhere...standing in the way, blocking doors, sleeping in front of entrances. However not really socializing except asking for money. It's impossible to not see it in California.
@uleebuffalo ah homeless people. But people with shelter should take example on the socialization model of these homeless 😂 I swear they got that part right for lack of ability to feed themselves. I think in California we see the normal counter culture response to Hollywood, the shallowness of people there and their inability for genuine socialization calls for chaos. I myself became an alcoholic after integrating McGill University, because I was acting on the alienation I felt, without realizing, trying to connect with those superficial empty hearted empty headed clout chasing upper class monsters. On another note, even chaos is craved in humans, sometimes you gotta realize that you obey dumb rules everyday without realizing just because GRAND order and preservation of energy and fear of consequence. But that chips away at you unconsciously without realizing it and your character and your confidence and you ZEST for life, sensefulness in removed. For example, in Thailand, you'll never get a ticket for going wrong way on an empty street, because it is more senseful (and it is safe) to go to the place, no biggie, you don't have to argue it or if you do, common sense is still a thing and your humanity is unscaped. It's the little things. And you know, when you land at these countries, you sense Chaos automatically, but when you integrate the fabric of society, you feel Sense, your life feels senseful and more peaceful, you drop all the utter useless inhibitions you accumulated out of fear and apathy - and all the constant anger on standby (because you make sense of the bull* by wanting people to abide by the same bull* as you do) all the while being bombarded by 100x the stimuli of normal life here in America. The UofT philosophy professor John Vaervecki calls that smoothening of life in America and it is a destroyer of sensefulness and genuine connection, you smooth all the annoyances of the human experience by wanting to make everything a commodity or a forbidden, hyperfocusing on the negatives, pixelating the human experience, and losing sense in the way.
Interesting how you felt that way in Kenya. I miss in the 00's before social media was super mainstream and the internet was still just for nerds and it was easier to just go up and talk to other people. Now it feels like you need every single check mark in someone's dating app or their social media and you can't fit it because they're trapped in their niche little bubble.
My husband and I have escaped the 9 to 5 lifestyle. We moved from a big city to a rural area in california. We are isolated here and you definitely need a car, but I've managed to make friends. We are homesteaders, trying to live off the land and we're building a house. I homeschool our son and I work part-time from home. If I had the typical 9 to 5 lifestyle I would feel like a cog in a machine, but instead I live a pretty simple life. Some might think it's boring, but I've already lived the fast paced city lifestyle.Perhaps if I had traveled more and lived in other countries when I was younger I would have been happier. I was lonely when I was younger. There are ways to evade becoming part of the corporate and capitalistic matrix. I'm not rich, but I'm happy living in nature with a few good friends around.

@@joshuabuchanan1141 I agree very much
@joshuabuchanan1141 yep, stranger-danger.
I am a world traveler and I agree with you 100%

But don’t you have to be extroverted in the job?
It is what it is
Damn. All that time must have been hard dude.
Damn man. Congrats for making it. I can't begin to imagine what that was like but I am glad you got off the street in the end. I bet you have a good story to tell, maybe you should write a book or talk to some people to spread awareness about homelessness and addressing homelessness in this world.

This is every man for himself. Community is gone.
We live in a nightmarish hellscape full of isolation, gloom and doom.
Do you know who else says hello, how are you, etc. to completely random strangers in the streets? Panhandlers, and salespeople trying to get you to buy something, in other words people who want something from you. People have learned to avoid falling into these traps by just ignoring public solicitors in general.
Nop that is only in America around the world people say hello because they enjoy making new friends not because they are pedophiles or selling things
@@Sparxx74 When I was in Spain I had at least 2 encounters with pandhandlers.
This attitude is part of the problem.
You have to take the risk of many bad encounters (like panhandlers) to eventually make a positive one, and being paranoid 100% of times helps no one.
One of the highlights of my day today was talking with a pan handler
Here in Seattle Washington they have this thing called " The Seattle Freeze " . People in Seattle are super unsocial. They say the cloudy weather and cold weather has an effect on the psyche. I can attest to this fact.
I'm here from Washington too it's very isolating.
Never experienced that level of coldness. Very unpleasant population.
Yeah my friend told me about that. She was miserable there. LA is just as bad if not worse.
Moved from Seattle to San Diego. At least the weather gives you a little life. Seattle freeze is sick you don’t even know why you would want to live there as a black person. You are literally in the cold mountains by yourself. I thought I would overcome the freeze but bro. It’s either California or Kenya
I just moved back to New Jersey after living in Key West, Florida, and the warm weather and people being on vacation and it being isolated 3 Hours into the ocean from Miami 90 miles from Cuba people are out at shops hanging out. You can walk around and meet people. It’s in America but doesn’t feel like it people wave at each other driving through the neighborhood and now I’m back in New Jersey and it’s grey cold and miserable
No one talks to each other anymore, they just look at stupid 💩 on their phones.
Yeah it's sad . They all live in the virtual world.

I have hosted people from all over the world world for 12 years and I have always wondered why the black Americans don’t come here. I only hosted one African American. It is encouraging to see young African Americans coming out of the false narrative of the western media about Africa ❤️ Good for you all
How do you get hosted? Is this for students?
I would agree Im invisible at work if I died at my desk I would probably be there for a few days before I started stinking up the place 💯💯💯
Yeah, I remember when that literally happened to a 60 year old Wells Fargo employee and no one noticed for four days.
@juicebowl agree 💯👍
@@juicebowlI remember that too. Sad story.
Dam that is a strong affirmation but I mean just like how this video is saying everyone is focus on making their money to stay afloat I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happens in usa.
Canada is even worst, guys 😂😂😂 Glad to know I'm sane, in an insane, dystopic world
I do not know how people living in Toronto or Vancouver are surviving. This one ladies rent went up 400 dollars in one year on an already overpriced apartment.
Lucky for me, I'm already done with people so I prefer being invisible.
I always hear Americans say stuff like this. Luckily, I did not grow up here. It feels like everyone is always trying to gaslight each other and that's why that feeling exists... if you travel you will find that you like some people...
I like people, I don't like living in America and moving back home in 6 months... finally after so many years
Congratulations 🎉 for your escaping from this mess.
omg gaslighting in the superobviate m450nic republic say it isn't so
try and say that word without getting your head zapped from satellite to death by the time you're 60.

I agree that the dating culture in the USA sucks, and it’s hard to find genuine friends.
my family spent 6 months in Lima Peru last year and it's night and day. such friendly people, everyone spends time outside. local community bodegas and parks and shops everywhere.

Shit is so abnormal and unhealthy that lifespans will be shortened over it. Why fight and work for a country that despises its own men? Never understood it. Make them beg. He's entitled to sound off about it. I'm in Australia and I found people talked to me, mostly. But that was probably because I'm white, female and a bit of a curiosity for them. Also I hung out with other travellers. The reality of day to day living in the US sounds pretty horrible and fake. It sounds like people have held back with him because of preconceptions including colour.

I live in brooklyn. Did 200-250 cold approaches this fall 5 dates they all went nowhere. Decent amount were good interactions and resulted in numbers. All of them ghosted. Also 6 3 used to be a model. Its really unbelievable
Maybe look at a mirror before approaching a model. Good looking people are attracted to good looking people. Nothing unbelievable about that
@@zionistpos1092 I think he meant that HE is 6 3 and used to be a model.
Cold approaching is very low success rate, even for guys that are good at it. If you’re a good looking guy, you’re better off on a dating app. Let them come to you.

Society has changed immensely since COVID. I was a freshman in high school back then but I still remember how people were like back then when shit was normal. The economy and society in general is f*cked and we really just need a reset.
you should try living in early 2000s. Completely different world. Women used to approach me.

I decided to be homeless for almost six years to understand what that part of the population was going thru. Homeless people have more heart and are way easier to connect with on a deep level. They are feeling their souls again. The housed working population is living in a trance hypnotized by their devices, unable to feel their soul, just locked in the chatter of their minds, thinking about bills, and all their hardships. Homeless people are feeling gratitude for a tall boy, and able to feel joy from the smallest pleasures.
I was waiting on some dudes to chime and and say "Oh nah bro, it's you. You gotta' get that swag up. It's all about looks my G." Smh That's usually the response ya get whenever you point out the truth of living here in the USA.

Bro… that’s my story. I’m Eritrean and living in USA for more than 15 years. You are just saying all of what I feel about America. People are literally mentally in prison.
The invisible factor is very much a thing in Northern California (San Francisco) as well. Its depressing. So many people here seem passionless, apathetic, hopeless, etc. The only things they care about out here is making money, doing drugs and loitering.
Loitering is all right, people should loiter more everywhere to socialize

If you could only fine 5 people in 10 hours in a city then you most likely won't fine anyone in a Suburban
Lol NYC isn't the place to try that experiment.
As a New Yorker bro thank you for this because I'm glad it's not just me. People will ghost all the time everyone is so tokenized to one another.
Hey man, Im a 29 year old dude living in NYC and everything you say is right. I mean there is a lot to unpack here about how NYC and how we feel about random people talking to us. The family is breaking down in America.
People think that a new administration will change this but in the end an entire movement needs to happen that will be very difficult. Too many Americans in denial that there is anything wrong.
Unless JD Vance forces women to reproduce, voting for Trump was a mistake
Lol, definitely not this administration. Who thinks a political movement leading with xenophobia and wealth hoarding will bring about a new era of connectedness and civility?
Do you realize that its mostly you women (and the government) that are making society dystopian?
