i really love watching these bts videos. the biggest takeaway from this one is when you mention the crew wanting to stick around after their ‘shift’ was over. that’s so amazing to hear. you’re not just making a movie, you’re making a community. that’s. frickin. awesome.
watching your whole process filming ITIS and then hearing you talk on podcasts about how exhausting that was and now seeing you experiment with a new process of filming is really helpful and thought provoking. There isn't one right way to be an artist and you're helping us branch out and do it in a way that works best for each individual.
Not being cheesy here, but seeing these bts videos, watching the interaction between you and the crew is so inspiring dude. Currently working with a few guys on various sets and it’s seamless. Thanks for always showing the raw stuff Danny!
Zacc is hilarious and loved his snippets in these bts episodes. You clearly surrounded yourself with some great people. Your channel and work is so inspirational.
This BTS series is just so cool because I am now so invested in the production side of things that there's NO WAY you'll catch me missing the short film when it drops next week.
Oh man, your personality, your videos are so so inspiring for me. I really can't wait to see the final movie what you guys just made. The inspiration what I got from you encouraged me to start my own business also. Still a new one, but man that's what I want to do, that's what I want to feel. Thank you Danny, you are amazing!
Absolutely loved this BTS, thank you! You have a great energy about you Danny which reflects in your work and your ability to create a chill atmosphere for everyone to thrive in. Congratulations & can't wait for the movie!
I love seeing the process bro! your team seems amazing. this is really inspiring as someone who is getting into cinematography! looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Director/ Camera combo is INSAIN! The whole thing is a giant... ❤ Danny started out his youtube career telling his audience “I love you” at the end of each episode so you already know… 😂❤
I love you Danny!!! Bro you inspire me to do more with my dreams and to just GO OUT and shoot films I want to make! Thanks for being such an inspiration!
This is my first year of college after going to a film high school, and i was just on my first professional set as a grip. I thought I was ready for it, but it turned out to be a lot more than I thought. It ended up being okay and I met a lot of people willing to help me out. But I'm now scanning this video to trying to find things I should be working on as a filmmaker. This video actually really made me motivated to find more sets to work on and continue to grow.
These behind the scenes (both episodes) are a great peek into a crew production for someone like me who primarily does corporate videos and small 3 person crew commercials (not including actors most of the time). Thanks for sharing this @DannyGevirtz
Theres a lot of differences between student/self funded shortfilms and full theatrical sets. This video really brought me back to my film school set memories; everyone just vibing just having fun with a fun script. Really appreciate what u do for the community and your name almost always comes up when i talk with other creators (esp those who use the fx3, me included)
Hell yeah! Love these BTS films, they build more connection seeing what went into getting certain shots and the vibes on set 🔥 this film is gunna be dope!
The BTS fist getting left hanging out to dry at the end was one of the best TH-cam things I’ve seen this month! Died! You did him dirty lmao! Can’t wait to see it dude!
Hey man hope all is well 🙏🏾 - Just wanted to reach out and say recently my mother passed away and I really have been questioning filmmaking and my passion for it and I wanna say that watching your videos and seeing the passion you put into the craft does give me hope that kinda makes me wanna continue with this path. - Just wanted to say that and hopefully we can work together on something someday, blessings and be well 🤝🏾
Hello Denny, awesome BTS like always!!! There's something that I always think about and never find an answer and it's what do you have in front of the lens? Which Promist, Black Mist, soft filter.... do you have on? I think it looks incredible. The way that images are rendered, how soft they are...
Are you having a premiere for the movie? If so it'd be really cool to come see it! You said Wednesday so I'm guessing that's tomorrow in which case I have a photo / video shoot. But I'm looking forward to seeing your movie.
I love you too. I understand you wanna promote your upcoming film but I thought on those bts you guys portrait too much spoilers already... I appreciate the content and all of the work you and your team does but I find it a bit too bad to already see so much of the film and the things which could take away surprising moments when watching the film. But never the less, can’t wait to see the results! Do more!
Thanks for your feedback man! I hear ya but I think the majority of my audience enjoys feeling like they were apart of the team and then they get to see the final film like the crew members have if that makes sense. But people can also always watch bts after the film as well if they prefer!
Honestly this one was just for fun and for sharing with the people who follow my TH-cam channel. Also serves as another learning opportunity for myself
I would just love to say if I had the money to pay for you to make movies just so you can make more BTS serieseses I would. Lemme go play the lotto real quick.
It’s exhausting being a Black kid in America, especially when you have a passion that’s dismissed before you even get the chance to prove yourself. I want to be a cinematographer-that’s my dream, my craft, my vision-but everywhere I look, the doors are closed. The opportunities are few, and the ones that exist are locked behind a glass ceiling no one talks about. It’s not like I’m not talented. It’s not like I haven’t studied, practiced, and poured my soul into this. But the industry doesn’t make space for people like me. We’re told that the world is full of possibility, that anyone can make it if they work hard enough, but that’s a damn lie. Not when every set I see looks like a bunch of clones. Not when the people who get to call the shots are always the same faces in every room. So, what happens to the rest of us? The Black kids who have vision, who know how to tell stories, who know how to frame a shot, but are constantly told, “Not yet.” Or worse, “We already have enough diversity.” It’s a damn slap in the face when you know you have something unique to offer, something different, something real-but the moment you walk in, you feel invisible. There’s this unspoken barrier that doesn’t just block your way, it ignores your very existence. You send out your reels, you send out your portfolios, you make connections, you fight, and you wait. But you’re still on the outside, looking in. And you know what they’ll say? “Oh, we just don’t have any room for a Black cinematographer right now,” or, “We need someone with more experience”-but experience in what, exactly? The same damn system that’s been holding us back from gaining that experience in the first place? I’m tired of it. I’m tired of seeing all these other kids with the privilege of connections and resources while we’re told to “work harder” like we haven’t been busting our asses from day one. No one talks about how hard it is to even get your foot in the door when you don’t have access to the networks that others take for granted. I just want a shot. One shot. To show what I can do. But in an industry so rooted in its old ways, how the hell am I supposed to prove myself when no one’s even looking in my direction? How many more stories do we need to tell of people like me waiting for an invitation that never comes? It’s not just a dream-it’s a right. And if I don’t get a chance to show the world what Black artistry looks like through a lens, then this system is broken in ways it refuses to acknowledge. I will fight for my seat at the table, because I know I belong there. And one day, they’ll have no choice but to see us.

I like using them to also promote the film! But people are welcome to enjoy them after the film as well

Honestly this one was just for fun and for sharing with the people who follow my TH-cam channel. Also serves as another learning opportunity for myself
Danny, why don’t you submit your short film to festivals?
I’d rather just share it right away with everyone here

Haha thanks man!
What would you think of releasing your script for those of aspiring to make films like this?
Happy to send it to you if you DM me your email on Instagram

I’m prettt sure it is. Might just take a moment to process that?
@@DannyGevirtz As it is new you have to enable it in the settings. TH-cam already did this automatically on your channel but it disabled it.
