Unless you're mixing it with anything else, like booze, then 'from the can' is better than into a glass. But if you insist on pouring in the glass, then at least pre-chill the glass in the fridge or in the freezer. You can also get away with pre-chilling the can in the freezer for 20-30 minutes (tops), before moving it into the fridge. Any longer than 20-30 minutes in the freezer, and you'll risk freezing the soda into a semi-solid slush, once you open the can, and then you'll have to wait until it comes back up to room temp, before you can actually pour it out.
Just had it myself and, yeah, that's exactly what it tasted like. Works really well even out of the can. I feel like the smoothness of it makes it more palatable than regular Pepsi.

I am a staunch Coca Cola man, I do not drink Pepsi. I did I admit buy a 4 pack of each one, put them in the fridge and the next day when I got home from work, I decided to try it. I grabbed my beer glass and popped the original flavor one open. I heard that hissing coming from the can, and that was pretty cool I admit. But the taste is amazing, and I chugged it. I immediately got a vanilla one out of the fridge, popped it and I was in heaven. I am now a Pepsi guy. Still Coke is my go to, but man I hope they keep this around and not do a limited thing with them. Good job Pepsi! Oh and everyone comparing to a beer, it os a Pepsi, not a Guiness. You want a beer, get a beer. This is a Cola!!
Pepsi's gonna d!ck with you. They'll get you all hot and bothered, then make it a limited time thing and never bring it back. Don't you hate it when you get teased that way!

I chilled the can, poured hard as instructed, and I did not have as much of a foam head on the top. But just as you described, it reminded me of a flat tasting Pepsi. I don’t think this is going to last long

the vanilla one tastes good. kind of like a coke float sort of flavor. But for someone who just wants to drink it out the can, it fizzes up a crazy amount when you open it. I have to just crack it, drink the fizz, then fully open it.

I love carbonated drinks and this is completely flat but the taste and smoothness is great.. haven’t had the vanilla version but I feel like that flavour will complement this drink a lot better
I just tried this and came online to see if someone was as disappointed as me 😆. I didn’t even look when I bought the Pepsi that it was Nitro instead of CO2, so when I opened it and it popped harder than any can I’ve ever opened I thought something was weird, then I took a taste and it was amazing! A nice taste, super smooth, and perfectly “bubbly. Unfortunately, only the first sip was like that. After that it just tasted like a flat Pepsi. It’s a great concept that should be worked on, definitely, but they may have blown the intro to it with this. Haven’t tried the vanilla but was thinking perhaps if I just threw a straw in the can after opening it, it would contain a bit more nitrogenation and taste less flat. It would also be pretty cool to try this nitrogen method with other sodas like Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Cream Soda, Ginger Beer, etc.
Funny you say that. I thought the same after my first and tried my second with a straw. Same flat taste. The nitrogen makes the bubbles too small while co2 makes larger bubbles and different drinking experience.
@@mbii7667 You know, actually I think root beer is a great idea! Because root beer is already kind of smooth. The problem is that co2 creates large bubbles that make the soda POP. Nitrogen bubbles are too small for a good soda pop experience. Idk.

As a former childhood Pepsi (in large glass bottles) turn adult hard-bubble Coke snob, I was really, really sceptical! But....I bought one, followed the instructions exactly, and was happily surprised! This is the best and coolest tasting Pepsi product I have had since my childhood, back in the 60's! I personally love a fountain soda for a slightly more syrupy flavor, but miss the foamy head. This product, to me, almost merges the two together, and is smooth/creamy, like an ice cream soda. Is it necessary? No. But it's a really nice treat for us cola lovers who are not beer drinkers! WIth the high calorie count, will I drink it as my regular go-to? Probably not. But it sure will be nice to break out for special occasions and as a periodic treat! C'mon Coke, develop one too, as I would love to do a comparison!
I like the vanilla draft I've not tried the regular and I think it's like a Pepsi float without the ice cream definitely smooth ide say anyone that likes vanilla sodas should try this.
I agree with you 100%. I tried this when i first saw it because i am a huge guiness fan. But not huge on cola. IMO cola taste better with carbonation. Unless you like the cola when its flat; you probably won't care too much for this flavor of this pepsi. Definitely a cool idea though.
I've only tried the original, but it was terrible. It's unbelievably sweet, and goes completely flat in mere minutes. PepsiCo didn't put enough thought into it. Without the acidity that CO2 adds the sweetness is overwhelming, and a lot more CO2 can be dissolved in water than nitrogen can. If a soda manufacturer wants to make an excellent nitrogen beverage, they need to start from scratch with nitrogen in mind.
I personally LOVE flat soda. If they had made this when I was a kid this would be the only soda id drink but apart from that its definitely a one and done for me.
I feel you. I always wanted to create a flat soda brand. My commercial would be like one of those infomercials showing people shaking there sodas to get it flat.
Not gonna lie I tried the vanilla version and this is the most enjoyable pepsi experience I’ve ever had it felt creamy and nice after the first sip it goes flat but it tastes amazing
Saw a can at the store today so I bought one. Tastes like Pepsi....or rather tastes like a regular Pepsi that has gone flat with 90% of the carbonation gone. Be better if they added some carbonation. Tastes syrupy and he is right...there is an odd after taste... I do have a marketing slogan for Pepsi though: " Try Pepsi Nitro...the cola that thinks it's a beer" And oh...62 grams of sugar.
Has anyone noticed that soda doesn’t stay carbonated very long anymore? Especially out of a can or bottle, if I get a fountain soda at some places the carbonation lasts a little longer. Iam a child of the 80s and I just don’t remember soda going flat so fast when I was a kid. Maybe it’s a money saver for them to give less carbonation.
I just tried this today. Glad I decided on the vanilla, it really does taste like ice cream in there. Now I wonder what a wild cherry Pepsi Nitro would taste like.
Totally agree, I'm not a huge soda drinker, but I tried the Nitro Vanilla Pepsi on a whim, and ended up loving it. Normal Pepsi tastes too bitter to me, but the Nitro Vanilla Pepsi is almost like cream soda, or a root beer float. Its got a really smooth mouth feel, and the vanilla flavor and nitrogen neutralizes some of the bitter notes of the Pepsi. I recommend drinking them chilled straight from the can. I was never a huge soda drinker before, but I have these a couple times a week now. They get a 👍 from me. Definitely recommend people give them a shot!
I recently bought a few cause my local Dollar General was having a sale 3 for $3 even. I wish I knew the nitrogen instantly activated because I popped it open and it went everywhere!! I’ll have to try one again soon but I’m not a big soda drinker… I LOVE soda but it’s so unhealthy that I can’t have it around… it’s almost addicting!! - UPDATE - I had a second drink with a friend, we both tried both Vanilla and Original flavour. I can say that Vanilla is DEFINITELY better, however I don’t think it’s my kind of drink 😅 They are VERY sweet and it just taste like flat soda, I think this would be a very good proxy as a juice or fruit flavoured drink maybe from Fanta or some other flavour soda brand but it doesn’t translate well with Pepsi sadly. It’s definitely a fun drink to try however!!
It’s cool. I like the idea, but it tastes flat. The carbonation makes bigger bubbles and the nitrogen is smaller bubbles that cause it the liquid to feel smooth, but for soda POP it doesn’t help. Works for some beers, but not soda. Great review. Give a try, but not for me and I love soda especially cola!
I agree with that comment on the first Pepsi, how it's creamy but at the same time it feels flat. Now I definitely get what you mean about that icecream feeling, I like that alot. Definitely would go with the second one any day.👍🏼
Should have done a direct comparison so you could switch back and forth and really note the difference. But good to know I'll get the vanilla one once and try it maybe try it super ice cold

I'm going to have to try these out for obvious reasons. Totally forgot these were coming out, so good look on the review! I was thinking the vanilla version would work better. Can't wait to grab some. Nice review, Papi. Cheers, dude!
My son and I reviewed both as well. We agree the Vanilla is a lot better. Like an ice cream float where the ice cream has melted down. Wish they could still find a way to keep it carbonates while still retaining the smooth foam top.
The Pepsi regular nitro one still would be perfect to me .From years of beer my esophagus was 75% (class D) covered with ulcers. Carbonation on an acidic beverage is torture without a daily prescribed double dose of Prilosec for acid reflex.
I had a digestive issue...and an esophageal ulcer. I have been wondering where all these problems came from. I originally thought it was from years of carbonated soda consumption, but now I'm thinking it came from consuming too much sugar/carbohydrates. I substantially reduced my sugar intake and eliminated breads/carbs from my diet. Now, my digestive problems are essentially gone.
Saw this on the shelf today and figured why not? I know I'm most likely going to not enjoy it that much but when it comes to food and beverages, everything is worth trying once.
I wonder if drinking it straight from. The can and not letting it go flat from the pour will help with the taste, even if that's not what the can recommends
I had one of these the other day, and after the first sip i HAD to do this... Take one of them, or even better the vanilla... Make a float with one of them. You dont get the insane bubbles from a traditionally carbonated soda. OMG perfection. Thank me later
I wasn't the biggest fan. The mouthfeel was there. It was super smooth, but I love the bubbles with normal pepsi. It just kinda tasted flat due to how smooth it was. Was great with whiskey added though.
Because I work at a gas station and we actually had a Pepsi rep come in and was talking about this apparently Pepsi had the idea to use it as a chaser and a mixer but idk
These are insane. It was so alien to me but I really enjoyed it. Not sure if it will catch on tho, to me it feels syrupy with all the sugar. Kinda takes away the enjoyment of the fizz you get from normal soda.
I agree its flat soda pop.....priced at $1.88 per can. If you do the math its almost the same price as a 4 pack cans of Guiness (per can)....at least with Guiness it has 5% alcohol.
What a well designed gimmick. It will definitely get some initial sales. This is going exactly where Crystal Pepsi. Can't one of these soda companies make a forever lasting flavor or new drink?
Its called "Pepsi" sport. The initial sales burst is all they need. Lays figured this out with the rotating gimmick flavors. They make more $$ from those initial burst than if they let it go all the time. Taco bell is another company that does this.
@@ZakSalter as an American I’ll say you aren’t missing out on much. It’s definitely not all what it’s cracked up to be. Many of these different flavors have poor sales and get yanked from shelves after only a few months.

Very interesting. I'll be on the look out for sure! I feel like if this was going to work maybe it would be better with coke. Coke to me has that syrupy thick body that pepsi does not. Like you said nitro will thin it out and mute the flavors to a certain degree but still have a creamy mouthfeel. Gotta give them credit of trying new things I guess. Cheers.
A bartender showed me how to pour a Guinness from a can. Pop the top of your can, take the pint glass, put it directly over the top of the can, upside-down. Flip can and glass over. Pull up on can slowly. Perfect pour, looks identical to Guinness.
I use Guinness’ “perfect pour” method which is tilting the glass while you pour until it’s 3/4 full then straightening the glass and tilting the can completely upside down. That said at the end of the day it reeeeally doesn’t matter unless you’re picky over how the head looks for the first few minutes of drinking the beer :)
I wonder if because of the nitrogen and sugar if you poured it into a bottle sealed it and left it in the sun if it would decompose into battery acid.. or ezplode

I wish I knew the nitrogen instantly activated because I popped it open and it went everywhere!!
I’ll have to try one again soon but I’m not a big soda drinker… I LOVE soda but it’s so unhealthy that I can’t have it around… it’s almost addicting!!
- UPDATE -
I had a second drink with a friend, we both tried both Vanilla and Original flavour.
I can say that Vanilla is DEFINITELY better, however I don’t think it’s my kind of drink 😅
They are VERY sweet and it just taste like flat soda, I think this would be a very good proxy as a juice or fruit flavoured drink maybe from Fanta or some other flavour soda brand but it doesn’t translate well with Pepsi sadly.
It’s definitely a fun drink to try however!!
It's 100% legit addicting, sugar is a scary thing haha definitely tasty stuff though
Your supposed to pour it into a glass as soon as you open it that's why it "exploded on you" it's supposed to foam up like beer in the glass
3 for 3 dollars? There almost 4 for one at kroger
I saw ads of this and wasn't sure how good it would be, I think I'll buy a vanilla one for the experience. Great review!
Thank you!!
Thank you Alejandro!
I just want Pepsi blue back
I agree with that comment on the first Pepsi, how it's creamy but at the same time it feels flat. Now I definitely get what you mean about that icecream feeling, I like that alot. Definitely would go with the second one any day.👍🏼
I love the thumbnail, that’s exactly what I was thinking. “Who do they think they are, Guinness?”
This is one of the best Pepss ever made, along with the Pepsi 1893 colas.
I just tried one, and I liked it. It's Pepsi without the burps. Easy to chug.
I liked it. One of the better flavors in a while. Its taste is more of a cream soda/Pepsi.
Should have done a direct comparison so you could switch back and forth and really note the difference. But good to know I'll get the vanilla one once and try it maybe try it super ice cold
Definitely an interesting flavor. Definitely not “normal” Pepsi. I think because people expect that “burn” from the bubbles, this seems a bit flat
No, it IS flat. It's not just a perception issue. Nitrogen doesn't absorb into water nearly as well as carbon dioxide does.
It tastes like flat Pepsi icy
@@chuckschillingvideos yeah Thats why it immediately fizzes up as much as it ever will as soon as you open it and is immediately garbage after
It truly is just flat Pepsi with creamy foam
For me it’s so much like flat Pepsi that I can’t help but be disappointed. I love how the bubbles burn the back of my throat. That’s why I like soda
Im still mad at Pepsi for getting rid of Blue but I see they coming back out with Crystal Pepsi this summer along with Pepsi Crystal Zero.
Not gonna lie I’ve never understood the point of Crystal Pepsi and have zero desire to ever have it again 😂
@@PapiEats lol I totally understand you. I liked it back when it first came out. To me taking the caramel color out of Pepsi gave it a kinda cream soda pepsi taste but now IDK how it will taste in 2022 because everything so different from when it first came out as far as ingredients but we will see hell I maybe like you and say I dont want to try again if it taste off.
@@marc2284 Did you have it when it was out a couple years ago or so?
@@PapiEats I think I did but cant remember if I liked it or not.
Pepsi Blue is the greatest thing PepsiCo ever came out with.
I liked the sci-fi sound it makes when you open it.
These are amazing, they need to make a wild cherry asap
That vanilla Pepsi nitro go crazy I really love it I’m trying to get more but having a hard time finding them in store I hope Pepsi didn’t discontinue them already
I actually just tried it today. I freaking loved it! Yes it’s unnecessary but almost everything is unnecessary if you think about it. I love nitrogen infused coffee and beer and now that we have nitrogen infused soda that’s just next level amazing. Truthfully I don’t really care for Pepsi all that much but if Coke did this I would be over the moon!
Thanks as always Papi! Great video!
This is great for people who don't usually drink soda bc the carbonation stings.
That sting is the greatest!
I ordered some and it’s coming tomorrow. Can’t wait to try it
These look interesting. Wish they would make this stuff in decaf versions so I could try it.
Great video, I subscribed 👍
Thanks Chelsea! I wish there were more CF options too
....How come we can't have this stuff here in Canada... like.. what the hell... I'd love to try the Vanilla Nitro. just wish it was real Sugar but.. ah well as long as it's cold enough.
I'm going to have to try these out for obvious reasons. Totally forgot these were coming out, so good look on the review! I was thinking the vanilla version would work better. Can't wait to grab some.
Nice review, Papi.
Cheers, dude!
Ooh do it!! Lemme know whatcha think. Thank you!
My son and I reviewed both as well. We agree the Vanilla is a lot better. Like an ice cream float where the ice cream has melted down. Wish they could still find a way to keep it carbonates while still retaining the smooth foam top.
This is an excellent review- informative and thorough. Thank you!
You’re welcome Sam!
The only nitro I need is nitro cold brew! Thanks for reviewing this! Saved me a buck.
The Pepsi regular nitro one still would be perfect to me .From years of beer my esophagus was 75% (class D) covered with ulcers. Carbonation on an acidic beverage is torture without a daily prescribed double dose of Prilosec for acid reflex.
Ooh give this a shot then!!
I have described it in the perfect way. It’s like a float without the ice cream
I liked it because the nitro doesn't agitate my heart burn as much lol
Saw this on the shelf today and figured why not? I know I'm most likely going to not enjoy it that much but when it comes to food and beverages, everything is worth trying once.
That's the spirit!
I loved both better than normal Pepsi. Of anything I'm a Coke fan more. Thought about grabbing some rum with the Nitro-Pepsi, It may taste amazing.
@Over Educated sp I got a 4 pack of both haven’t tried vanilla yet but sore sure not bad alone either
Just tried one and it's definitely unique. Best I can describe the taste is a melted coke or Pepsi slushi from a gas station.
Good analogy
Mines coming later this week!
enjoy!
I wonder if drinking it straight from. The can and not letting it go flat from the pour will help with the taste, even if that's not what the can recommends
It’s not really that it “goes flat” but nitrogen bubbles are just so much smaller that it almost feels flat compared to co2.
I had one of these the other day, and after the first sip i HAD to do this...
Take one of them, or even better the vanilla...
Make a float with one of them. You dont get the insane bubbles from a traditionally carbonated soda. OMG perfection.
Thank me later
That's what I was wondering...how it might make a float. Now I have to get some
I absolutely love both of them.
I wasn't the biggest fan. The mouthfeel was there. It was super smooth, but I love the bubbles with normal pepsi. It just kinda tasted flat due to how smooth it was. Was great with whiskey added though.
Okay so as a guy who used to drink Jack n Coke could this be a better choice for other drinks? I kinda want to try it with Jager but idk
Because I work at a gas station and we actually had a Pepsi rep come in and was talking about this apparently Pepsi had the idea to use it as a chaser and a mixer but idk
Hmmm honestly I didn’t try it that way and to ME that seems weird but maybe it works? I like the carbonation in a mixed drink
I tried it and it just tasted like flat Pepsi. I did like the smoother, creamier feeling but I wouldn’t recommend it.
That was my experience
I like it a lot , I hate drinking sodas out of a can unless it’s super cold. This is so smooth, I rather have this than a regular Pepsi.
These are insane. It was so alien to me but I really enjoyed it. Not sure if it will catch on tho, to me it feels syrupy with all the sugar. Kinda takes away the enjoyment of the fizz you get from normal soda.
That’s part of what I like with Coke and or other sodas is the carbonation
When you think about it Nitro Pepsi is like classic sodas such as root beer and cherry cream that was popular back in the day for example 1930s
I agree its flat soda pop.....priced at $1.88 per can. If you do the math its almost the same price as a 4 pack cans of Guiness (per can)....at least with Guiness it has 5% alcohol.
$1.88? That's pretty cheap tbh
I got the regular one. It was pretty good. This is probably my favorite soda of all time.
What a well designed gimmick. It will definitely get some initial sales. This is going exactly where Crystal Pepsi. Can't one of these soda companies make a forever lasting flavor or new drink?
Like Pepsi?
Its called "Pepsi" sport. The initial sales burst is all they need. Lays figured this out with the rotating gimmick flavors. They make more $$ from those initial burst than if they let it go all the time. Taco bell is another company that does this.
Crystal Pepsi is still a thing. Got brought back 3-4 years ago.
Cherry Coke has been the most successful flavored soda. The rest have mostly been duds.
Only if mountain dew released baja blast in sewers for us plebs
I tried the vanilla today and loved it
I’m drinking one right now
Really not a fan of this
It’s like drinking a flat Pepsi
I drink Pepsi because of the more intense taste
The carbonation is what makes soda taste so good for me.
As a Canadian I’m very jealous of all the different flavours of pop you guys get. Zero percent chance of us getting it north of the border…
What’s pop? Lol
@@jonkane9691
Only the French call it soda where I live…
@@ZakSalter as an American I’ll say you aren’t missing out on much. It’s definitely not all what it’s cracked up to be. Many of these different flavors have poor sales and get yanked from shelves after only a few months.
@@waltonthecultist3441
We don’t even get cherry or Vanilla Coke on the regular. They bring it out a few times a year and charge $7.99 for a 12pk when a normal 12pk goes for $4.99. They know we want it and they charge appropriately…
That’s why we Americans are fat.
It's so damn good. Taste best in the can. My favorite pop! I hope it doesn't ever get discontinued!
Cheers.
Try it! I’d never had anything other than a beer or coffee like this!
Pepsi is actually more syrupy
@@jaimep3432 perhaps to your tastebuds and senses. Cheers 🍻
I can see this taking off, although I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that sells :( just have to wait and be hopeful
It taste like flat pepsi
A bartender showed me how to pour a Guinness from a can. Pop the top of your can, take the pint glass, put it directly over the top of the can, upside-down. Flip can and glass over. Pull up on can slowly. Perfect pour, looks identical to Guinness.
I’ve poured many a Guinness 😇 haha If only these were cans of Guinness. Much better value 😝
@@PapiEats Do you pour a Guinness like a normal beer? Or do you do it in the manner that I wrote? Just wondering.
Still gotta check em out. Would love to try the vanilla!
I enjoyed this review and dropped a sub! I picked one of the vanilla up at the store today but haven't tried it yet
Thanks Tyler! Hope you enjoy the vanilla one!
The vanilla one is one of the best i ever had. its feel like having a strout but like its a soda. Creamy and smooth. GOAT
Regardless of everything else, a Nitro Coke would obviously be superior to Nitro Pepsi in every way
I loved the vanilla one I got them both has gifts for me b day and I’ve been hooked sense.
i hold it straight down a few inches above the cup it makes a lot more foam , i just do it as hard as possible
Nice soft creamy texture.
Hi we got some today at Krogers not tried them yet. Wanted check your video out see how they was.
I love it. I want to see a coke version
Got the vanilla only and I don’t mind it, deff a gimmick but it works on the Vanilla
I wonder if because of the nitrogen and sugar if you poured it into a bottle sealed it and left it in the sun if it would decompose into battery acid.. or ezplode
😂I’m curious now, but not curious enough to try!
Finally hit my Walmart, so good
