After watching this, I get the impression that he wouldn’t enjoy them - since they’re definitely high in that extract/chemical chilli flavour, rather than tasting of actual peppers.
Well, I don't have a normal spice level. I love eating multiple pickled whole habaneros one after another. Also, I have about 30 hot sauces, including 3 different Hot Ones Last Dab's and a ziplock bag full of whole Carolina Reapers in my freezer for homemade sauces.
I used to eat those peanuts in China all the time. They are amazing. The peanuts are fried with the peppers, as a result they both have a unique crispy texture. There are both sichuan peppercorns (knumbing) and sichuan peppers (similar to birds eye or thai) in them.
Have you ever tried the variety made by Xing Sheng De (XSD)? One person said those were even better. Andy's Hot Fries used to be my favorite growing up; I did think they were hot, but not overpowering; I don't buy a lot of snacks, but I forgot these existed.
Had my own experience with the O.G. Puckerbutt Reaper Sauce the other night. Wanted to spice up a pot of instant noodles, so I put about 1/4 teaspoon in. Problem was, the pot was at full boil and it dispersed a goodly dose of pepper oil droplets into the air. I and my roommate had to evacuate with noses running, eyes streaming, and coughs hacking. Lesson learned, add that stuff at the end, only after the boil's gone!
I like to reheat pizza on the stove top with a little bit of water so the steam heats the top part. Also, I'm a big fan of Flatiron crushed pepper flakes, which are much hotter than normal crushed red pepper flakes (they taste great, I highly recommend them). I have learned the hard way to add the pepper flakes after heating. It's an exceptionally effective way to get people in your household to yell obscenities at you.

First time seeing a video with the creative of the hottest pepper and I like how he’s not a spice snob. He enjoys all peppers/heat levels for what they are.
Hey Ed! Huang Fei Hong also offer a newer 'Super Spicy Peanuts' variety, plus (if you're adventurous in another way) 'Spicy Peanuts with Dried Fish', 'Spicy Peanuts with Dried Shrimps', 'Mala Peanut Butter' and 'Magic Chili' (though these have most of their spice boiled out in processing, but are still quite addictive). Unfortunately, one might only be able to locate 'Magic Chili' in the US. 'Maxiangzui Peanuts' are also quite different, since they're seasoned with Sichuan peppercorn giving them a numbing quality.
My favorite spicy snack was Paqui Haunted Ghost Pepper Tortilla Chips which you can't get anymore since Paqui is no longer in business. But most of the time I pop purple popcorn kernels on the stove and toss them in different spice mixes I make along with some habanero powder.
I love how things that have NO spice to him would have me vomiting, but at the same time really likes the things that truly are mild even for people like me. Great example is the Andy Capps hot fries.
Mister Currie, you are one of my favorite human beings! Thank you for all you have done (and are still doing) to bring more heat and flavor into the world!
Great episode, keep it up! Things I enjoy eating and drinking at times, Katjang pedis, which literally means spicy peanuts. Also try the apple ginger shots, again not very spicy but the ginger note in it gives the subtle hits of heat.
Ive had a Carolina reaper and spice lasted a few minutes then got stomach pains few hours later. I've had the whole gummy bear and spice lasted a few minutes but the stomach pain came almost instantly after swallowing. That gummy bear was brutal. Surprisingly didn't throw up with either.
I wish the Cheetos Smokey Ghost Pepper puffs weren't a limited time only. Those had a great flavor and about the heat of a Takis product. If anything, they should've become the new, standard "flamin' hot" flavor, IMO. Another brand I like which seem to appear seasonally in winter are Herr's brand chips, specifically their Carolina Reaper cheese puffs. Unfortunately, they seem weaker this year than I remember them being, so that's a bummer.

I love listening to Ed describe flavor, spice and texture of various foods. That being said, I absolutely do not trust his assessment of spice level. He would eat the embers out of a campfire and describe them as smoky, oaky but with no discernible heat.
The "Guajillo Chili Stone Ground Chocolate Disk" reminds me of the chocolate disks that are used to make Mexican Hot Chocolate, it's just missing the cinnamon and it isn't hot either, the chile is used for flavor. If you want heat to your hot chocolate, use a little bit of Ed's Extreme Experience candy bar, you won't regret it, It is also excellent in brownies too!
I ate one of those gummy bears back around when they first came out, a rep was selling their candy at a state fair. My reaction to it was so mild that she was actually disappointed by it.

My favourite "spicy" snack, would be Taffel(Finnish snack brand) Mexican salsa peanuts. They're very mildly spicy, but they taste amazing. They contain a tiny bit of chilli powder and paprika powder. But they don't have any artificial flavourings. There's a 'spicy' chilli version of them, which has a bit of cayenne powder added, but I would argue they are even less spicy and aren't as tasty.
