@R J Tell this to a blacksmith who works with a power hammer. No, please do. Please tell every carpenter their usage of power tools; every mason who mixes a batch of cement with a drill; tell everyone who uses some level of modern tools in their gear that they are no longer "artisanal" Or "hand-crafted" Mass production goes throughout its process without oversight. Each piece is meant to be sold to thousands, if not millions, of people. These are using the production method to produce pieces by order, to specification, and within precise specifications enough to be modular. Tools change throughout the years, the difference in automation is whether or not you're paying attention to it throughout the process from beginning to end. We don't paint with sticks and grass or hammer shit out with rocks, because we got better tools now. Figure out why artists don't use them, take your time. I'll let you think about that one.

If you see SungWon's review for a gamer laptop, he clearly will not give a shit if he doesn't give a shit. If he does like something, he's honest about it.
My dad actually made his own game table. It has the pieces that you can take off or leave on in order to eat on and the inside is like a poker table, cushioned feel. He was so proud afterwards.
Having now seen one of these in person, I will say that the best part is that most people would not know any difference between your "gaming table" and a normal dining room table. A made-in-the-USA hardwood table is reasonably priced in the same price range. "Fancy" furniture brands, like Restoration Hardware, charge more for a basic dining room table of the same size, with no discernable difference in quality (and certainly not better, if there is any difference). Now that I am a father and our family has settled into our first home (I know! A millennial bought a house! Crazysauce!), we plan to buy a Wyrmwood table as our... table. Not for the "game room" or anything (I'm still a millennial... the house is small), but as our one table for everything. Well done, Wyrmwood.
Something about the way the video ended broke my immersion in a way that feels like when you realize you're dreaming because something isn't right, or you realize you're in a simulation or something

I was a bit nervous when I saw the cupholders on the inside of the table. I was worried that stuff might spill onto the nice mat or the game. I was surprised and impressed to see that you could put the cupholders on the outside. I might actually buy this now (when I have the money) Note: (I have not bought or used this table)
This review single-handedly put “board game table” and specifically this table from wyrmwood onto my list of things I must get at some point in my life!!
I'm so freaking jealous. It's so beautiful! I have a couple of Wyrmwood dice boxes that I love so much so I can speak for the amazing quality and craftsmanship (at least for the smaller items)
I'd like to say as a backer that I find it pretty offensive that they're basically a year behind schedule, abruptly changed when they would demand money from customers, yet still decided to send out a free table to a TH-camr.
I HIGHLY appreciate stating the prices up front and clearly. So many reviews of just anything that i see don't ever mention the price. And for something like this i feel like that's the most important thing to start with
The table topper seems so nice if you're playing a game with minis like dnd. Aside from being able to leave the pieces where they are week to week, it would make setting up any dungeon titles way nicer.
My wife and I got our first board game table last year that is 6ft x 8ft and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Would 100% recommend a gaming table for anyone who loves tabletop gaming
The multiple dining top panels seem so nice. All of the gaming tables I've seen have just one heavy piece, and handling one of those around walls or windows is a recipe for disaster.
Nice review, glad to see content creators that actively use the products they get sponsored. Would love one of those tables, if only I had friends that like boardgames, and the money to buy a table like that lol.
Made my own years ago, this caught my eye because it looks so similar. Difference is mine has a TV inside with a felt cloth that can go over it, and the table surface once removed can slot into the sides as extensions. My metal cup holders also be a bit deeper lol. This has more surface area than mind does, though. Not counting the tv (I was originally going to sell it) that was 150$ in materials and made for a fun project. Later on I made a two-player arcade control unit that slots into the sides too, and it's great. Edit: I should note mine is not real hardwood, it's dense melamine board with a wood texture lamination, so it was very inexpensive to work with
my dining table isnt even used for dining. just on birthdays do we sit and take pics around it, otherwise, we eat around the kitchen bench. as for gaming or jigsaws, that's when the dining table comes in handy.. but must be packed up again by the next birthday. I'm so happy you guys got sent such a lovely table for free🙏
I've thought about a gaming table before, possibly a DIY, or wyrmwood does have a great rep. But I'm worried that some of the "novelties" will just end up not seeing real use long term. so what I really want to see is a follow up review in 6 months to a year. How does it stand up and was it worth it?
Yeah I would be spending all my money on a raising-lowering mechanism and people can just go stick their head under the kitchen faucet if they want a drink.
@jadespider7526 So randomly came across your comment I've had my table for a little over a year and it's just as good as when I first got it. I purchased the "wargaming" size (I think it's called large + wide now) which is ~4ft by 6ft. I have played many games at it: D&D, MTG, Twilight Imperium, 40k, one page rules, etc and always get compliments even from those who have seen/used it before. Topper is great with longer games to just throw it on and eat during a lunch break. It's also nice to be able to just leave the game out after you're done and just clean up later. Still very sturdy (it's all solid wood). Also I didn't purchase any of the cup holders but have instead 3d printed a bunch and some other things for holding bits and stuff.
Cool table, but does it prevent any spilled liquids from falling into the game area below when everything is properly aligned up top? It looks like a spilled glass of cranberry juice or wine would ruin everything below one of the many cracks.
@@gindgo yea thats what I thought, it keeps most of it away but if you have a board game stored under it or even just a mat, any spillage is a disaster
@@gknucklez disaster is a strong word. wipe it up and pull off the sections or deal with a few drops of liquid. disaster would be not having it there in the first place. no need to be so dramatic.
The ease of use here is quite ingenious and convenient! Putting the toppers over the game and taking a break to eat with such ease, is probably great for the people that play a lot of boardgames! The smaller modular pieces are also so smart. I'd definitely look into this if I was a boardgame enthusiast.
I talk to so many people at Wyrmwood during PAX’s. They are friends with my friends who work with a non-profit called Take This and so I always make sure to visit when I can. The people at Wyrmwood are kind, caring, hilarious, and superb at their craft. I strongly recommend buying from them, as I have a number of their beautiful dice vaults
As someone who only plays board games once in a blue moon, I had no idea tables like this even existed or what would be different about them. Loved this review!
I like the cup holders slotting in with magnets. My table I got from a different company a long time has one the slot and snaps in, and the snaps break on them, so the magnets are a brilliant aspect. Them sitting inside and outside is nice too.
I think my only concern is that it's such a nice table, I'd feel like a filthy racoon if I ate anything in it's immediate vicinity, let alone *on* it. And probably die of an anxiety attack if I got so much as a tiny scratch on it! ...But I also realize those are entirely me-centric issues, and if I played enough boardgames (or tabletop wargames - I do miss my toy soldiers a bit), something like this would be incredible. Thankfully I have *nowhere* I could possibly put it even if I had the money, so your insidious wiles won't work THIS time, Mr. ProZD. Maybe. Possibly. Potentially. ...shit, they come in cherry wood. That's tempting as hell.
The only thing about this table is it’s incredibly difficult to purchase. They allow you to make a custom table but don’t sell them on their website. You have to go to kickstarter and purchase a coffee table than “refuse” the coffee table and that money goes toward a different purchase that you somehow have to customize over email and tell them how you want it. I know this because I attempted to buy one and even emailed their customer service because it was so confusing. Andrew was very helpful in getting me to understand their difficult purchasing process. Thanks Andrew!
This is a non issue with this table. There are gaskets between each magnetic topper preventing any spillage going through and down into the play area. They have a video where they throw a full bucket of water onto the top plates, and there is like a drop or two getting through at maximum. EDIT: Here's the video th-cam.com/video/fSDW_SPf8Ro/w-d-xo.html
I THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE WHERE HE JUST REVIEWS A NORMAL TABLE AND EVERYONE WAS JUST GOING ALONG WITH IT THEN HE TOOK OFF THE WOOD AND ITS LIKE A GAMING TABLE WHAT i have never heard of this thing in my life and yet i love it so much
Compared to a similar table from the big furniture store around here, the price is super competitive! It starts to come up once you add the accessories. Definitely gonna look into this instead of a regular dinning table for the new house!
I really like this table. I would certainly get it in a cheaper wood of course but it's been awhile since I've been excited over a peice of furniture. I used to have weekly game nights with friends prior to covid and I remember the table size was our biggest hang-up depending on the board game. Sometimes you didn't even have space on the table to rest your arms, this however comes with built in arm rests. If taken care of, im sure this table would live long enough to see its worth.
Is it normal for gaming tables to be so 'deep' though? Let's say you're playing cards and want a felt surface. The high rim would make arm resting uncomfortable. But what do I know. I suppose it's handy for storing bulky game items if there are any that are 4" high.
The table was designed for ttrpgs, where people use lots of miniatures. Also, Wyrmwood has another table called the prophecy that has a wheel that you can use to raise and lower the play surface.
I am pretty sure the height of that is totally adjustable with a crank. You could even make it flush with the top like a normal table (I think? Just learned about this table today) Edit: this is only available on a much more expensive model not shown in this video
@@VGInterviews you designed this?! Fucking awesome job my guy, this thing is so slick! 👌👌 I'm in my earlier 20s and still a student so getting my own place is a LONG way off but I already have one of these in a list of dream house stuff 😅😁

Thanks, now I just spent two hours looking at gaming tables and accessories I’ll never be able to afford, for an imaginary house I’ll never have lmao Was nice to dream for a bit, tho
FWIW, my Cherry MGT table and topper and all my accessories (6 cup holders & component sorters) all together cost less than this table alone (let alone the toppers and such). Wenge is just expensive. I mean, all the tables are "expensive" but some are more affordable than others.
the cupholders are not primarily held by the magnets, they are slid into a slot/gap on the side of the table. the weight of the cup rests on about half an inch of wood, which should be enough to hold a large cup filled with any drinkable liquid. so as long as you don't sit on the cupholders it should be fine.
@@schrottproductions8782 I do like the emphasis on "drinkable" liquids, just in case someone was tempted to fill a cup with molten tungsten to claim the holder failed
I don't even play board games, let alone buy tables specifically for them, and yet here I am watching this video start to finish in one setting. ProZD's power knows no bounds
Are the cup-holders intended to be used for like, game pieces, or actual cups with drinks? If the latter, are the magnets strong enough so that a full cup wouldn’t risk weighing the holder down and spilling in the mat or on the floor
Also interested in the answer to this. I think there is something at work with the wood being wedged in so it cant fall down as the piece would hit into the top of the wedge but its hard to tell.
I'm curious about the strength of the cupholders since they're magnets. They seem pretty sturdy but if I have a friend who regularly brings their big gulp cup or something I don't want it to go crashing to the floor (or worse, all over the game/felt mat insert). Do you know about how much those cups can carry, weight-wise?
I'm not sure how I came into this thinking it was a bit, then seeing him read what I think is a blank sheet of paper, further thinking it's a bit, then realising along the way it's deadass a review of a table. Not sure how I was so surprised.
I saw this at PAX Unplugged last year and it really is nice. Pretty expensive for all that BUT, not a bad price when you realize that it's Both a legitimate real wood dining table and gaming table with all the little perks/features you mentioned in the same space. I'd get one if i had the cash and somewhere to put it.
That satisfyingly loud clicking sound should answer your question...it seems top notch..as they should be for $120 a piece. It should hold all kinds of snacks too.
No, the table casts "Create or destroy water" to delete the liquid from existence, and then casts prestidigitation on top to make sure the surface is spotless. It also uses "mage armor" to be resistant to scratches. After all, it's made from Wyrm's wood. Can't expect anything less from a material like that.
For the most part no. They have gaskets on each of the topper leaves. This helps prevent the majority of liquid from going through the table. Wyrmwood has a youtube channel (found the link to their test: th-cam.com/video/fSDW_SPf8Ro/w-d-xo.html) where they demonstrate it through a few of their videos. It does a really good job, but the video explains it the best.
"The table itself is Twenty-one..." YOU BETTER SAY DOLLARS. "The magnetic topper is Eighteen..." YOU BETTER SAY DOLLARS. Huh. Well, let's check out the video! and never even consider buying this.
probably a little bit it does seem to have a slot and ridge that might stop more than normal but it would be a good idea to use a table cloth or something.
I could imagine half the cupholders full of dice or minis or meeples for certain kinds of games, as a convenience thing. The idea of being able to put away a game of Arkham Horror mid-game and have your friends come back and finish it a week later is kind of cool, if you knew you didn't have another game in between. Wyrmwood is very much a "Premium service for premium pay" kind of company. It costs a lot but if you're a customer they are committed to making sure you're happy with their work. They remind me of Lay-Z-Boy in that respect.
That table looks sooo cool even though I rarely play video games and my flat isn’t big enough but my grandma would really like this to play games at her home once in a while
Wyrmwood had a video out there showcasing what would happen. There are rubber gaskets between the topper panels, and spillage is at an absolute minimum. Iirc they dump an entire bucket of water on the table, and just a little bit drops down to the play surface and only when removing the toppers.
@@druyv Yeah but that's something they did, you can't really trust it. They would know the exact way to put the things together and they don't want to see it fail, some goofball online might not do it perfectly if there's an easy way to mess it up.

Here's a guy building one, I think he's done like three of them: th-cam.com/video/Il_PcMIaSwc/w-d-xo.html
Woodworker as well and I don't know if I'd want to make a wenge table. It's a lovely wood but it's so rough on tools. I'm a handtool user, though, and I can't even imagine the amount of sharpening time and labor power tools would require.
@@Dstinct yea, at this point I’d call it an artisan piece
Gotcha.
Yeah I've seen a lot of behind the scenes on this company designing and building. Its pretty incredible. I can unserstand people disappointed they cannot afford one (myself included) but I can appreciate how badass it is
@R J Tell this to a blacksmith who works with a power hammer.
No, please do. Please tell every carpenter their usage of power tools; every mason who mixes a batch of cement with a drill; tell everyone who uses some level of modern tools in their gear that they are no longer "artisanal"
Or "hand-crafted"
Mass production goes throughout its process without oversight.
I am generally skeptical of most product reviews where the person has received it for free or are paid. I get why companies do it and why people accept the opportunity, but I'm often like "meh, this all sounds very from the horse's mouth"
But like my gosh I really enjoyed this review/demonstration. Your review felt fair, off the cuff and honest. Like 10/10 really enjoyed this video.
Yeah, it's hard to complain about free things. And if you get a free thing and get paid on top of that? Even harder.
@@LordDragox412 paying for a review is pretty yikesy but getting stuff for free is super common and a good thing imo, if reviewers had to pay for everything they review you'd only see reviews from people with insane disposable income, car reviewers come to mind but with how many video games come out every day I imagine it would be a substantial burden on basically every industry due to cost, frequency or both
Also getting the product for free is really common but paying is pretty rare I want to say (at least in the vast majority of reputable sources)
This is such a genuine comment. Hello out there internet person I'll never know but totally agree with.
If you see SungWon's review for a gamer laptop, he clearly will not give a shit if he doesn't give a shit. If he does like something, he's honest about it.
4 years ago: This skit was so funny, boy am I signing up
Now: I am watching a table review. A review. Of a table. BOY AM I GLAD I SIGNED UP
Are your spying on me?
Great job Anne-Marie on the construction! That looks very high quality
I was surprised at first, but then I realized that ProZD is the perfect person for Wyrmwood to send one of these to
My dad actually made his own game table.
Hey, you! You’re finally awake.
Is anything even real
Me when I saw the thumbnail: this is meme material
Me 5min in: Wow this is actually an incredibly practical, aesthetically appealing table and an unironically thorough, unbiased review.
I mean, I'm already locked in as a kickstarter backer, but this is still nice to see in advance of my order shipping out
Please make more reviews like these I love the furniture reviews
I really don’t game but I always love seeing your perspective on function and quality!!! Love it, great review and practical advice
I was a bit nervous when I saw the cupholders on the inside of the table. I was worried that stuff might spill onto the nice mat or the game. I was surprised and impressed to see that you could put the cupholders on the outside. I might actually buy this now (when I have the money)
Note: (I have not bought or used this table)
Yeah right, such a relief to see them outside lol
This review single-handedly put “board game table” and specifically this table from wyrmwood onto my list of things I must get at some point in my life!!
Definitely don't look at their Prophesy table...
Fuck I wish I could afford it
I'm so freaking jealous. It's so beautiful! I have a couple of Wyrmwood dice boxes that I love so much so I can speak for the amazing quality and craftsmanship (at least for the smaller items)
It’s such a lovely table! Your wife did an amazing job assembling it, I hope it serves well for the games you play.
Damn I never realized how much I need this. Covering a game and finishing another day is so clutch
I'd just like to say Wyrmwood that this presentation was honestly worth the investment of a table. Game on SungWon! and Anne Marie!
Edit: I should note mine is not real hardwood, it's dense melamine board with a wood texture lamination, so it was very inexpensive to work with
Its so fun to see popular youtubers reviewing wyrmwood. Its literally a company of people I grew up with, or siblings of people I grew up with.
That gaming table looks super nice, I'd totally like one in the future
my dining table isnt even used for dining. just on birthdays do we sit and take pics around it, otherwise, we eat around the kitchen bench. as for gaming or jigsaws, that's when the dining table comes in handy.. but must be packed up again by the next birthday.
@jadespider7526 So randomly came across your comment
I've had my table for a little over a year and it's just as good as when I first got it.
Holy hell this is INSANE
Getting one of these is a life goal in itself, it's so good!
Cool table, but does it prevent any spilled liquids from falling into the game area below when everything is properly aligned up top? It looks like a spilled glass of cranberry juice or wine would ruin everything below one of the many cracks.
Here you go! Video demo on that issue: th-cam.com/video/fSDW_SPf8Ro/w-d-xo.html
@@gindgo yea thats what I thought, it keeps most of it away but if you have a board game stored under it or even just a mat, any spillage is a disaster
I’d say maybe use a table cloth if you have any games below
@@gknucklez disaster is a strong word. wipe it up and pull off the sections or deal with a few drops of liquid. disaster would be not having it there in the first place. no need to be so dramatic.
There are rubber gaskets in the cracks so that that doesn’t happen
The ease of use here is quite ingenious and convenient!
Putting the toppers over the game and taking a break to eat with such ease, is probably great for the people that play a lot of boardgames!
The smaller modular pieces are also so smart.
I'd definitely look into this if I was a boardgame enthusiast.
Cool! I supported the Wyrmwood Kickstarter. Can't wait to get my table.
Not to sound like an old lady, but I want to try playing mahjong on that table.
As someone who only plays board games once in a blue moon, I had no idea tables like this even existed or what would be different about them. Loved this review!
I don't even know how to play monopoly. And I'm gonna fully enjoy this table review.
#tablecloth
not to tempt you more but they also come in sizes as small as little coffee tables XD
Fun fact: you can rub walnuts on hardwood to get rid of scratches.
@@patrickpatterson4292 not if you’re allergic to them 💀
@@abnormallynormal8823 Valid point.
Damn, good for you getting such a nice table for free!
Thanks for the review SungWon! My partner and I were looking at these, and planning on one down the line.
Felt seems problematic with cleaning. Magnetic tabletop means if you spill, it could get into the gaps and drip INTO the table's felt.
This is a non issue with this table. There are gaskets between each magnetic topper preventing any spillage going through and down into the play area. They have a video where they throw a full bucket of water onto the top plates, and there is like a drop or two getting through at maximum.
EDIT: Here's the video th-cam.com/video/fSDW_SPf8Ro/w-d-xo.html
a great idea to have high sides to keep everything inside and not falling off the edge! Love the incontinence pots too!
I THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE WHERE HE JUST REVIEWS A NORMAL TABLE AND EVERYONE WAS JUST GOING ALONG WITH IT
THEN HE TOOK OFF THE WOOD AND ITS LIKE
A GAMING TABLE
WHAT
i have never heard of this thing in my life and yet i love it so much
Dude! Awesome review!! Happy to see you review something that meets different gamers. Your review was so genuine! Nice to have commentary too
Compared to a similar table from the big furniture store around here, the price is super competitive!
Depends on the table. Most tables built specifically for D&D are about this deep.
Just learned about this table today)
Edit: this is only available on a much more expensive model not shown in this video
TL;DR yes, it is by design
@@VGInterviews you designed this?! Fucking awesome job my guy, this thing is so slick! 👌👌
I'm in my earlier 20s and still a student so getting my own place is a LONG way off but I already have one of these in a list of dream house stuff 😅😁
Still waiting for mine to deliver. I was June 2021 backer. Also my delivery fee was $900. I know know ill still love it.
Disappointed no water/spill test to see how well the topper works
Thanks, now I just spent two hours looking at gaming tables and accessories I’ll never be able to afford, for an imaginary house I’ll never have lmao
Was nice to dream for a bit, tho
Seeing how you guys have so many tabletop games, this was definitely worth the investment
To those mentioning price, $2400 may seem like a lot, but for a boardgame table of this quality it is veryyyyy good.
$2400 is a great price for a fancy table. The website lists this table without any accessories at $13,000
I had a friend who had one of these. Loved playing board games and this made it feel so premium haha. Fun times
FWIW, my Cherry MGT table and topper and all my accessories (6 cup holders & component sorters) all together cost less than this table alone (let alone the toppers and such). Wenge is just expensive. I mean, all the tables are "expensive" but some are more affordable than others.
Good to know. Thanks
That's a very cool table! 💯
And I love the review - it was a delight to watch. 😁
Have you tried a full large cup, does the magnets offer enough support?
the cupholders are not primarily held by the magnets, they are slid into a slot/gap on the side of the table. the weight of the cup rests on about half an inch of wood, which should be enough to hold a large cup filled with any drinkable liquid. so as long as you don't sit on the cupholders it should be fine.
Every time I sit down to play a board game I think to myself "Darn, if only I had a ridiculously expensive table to play on"
what a nice commplementary gift! hope you can put it to good use, looks actually very good (for a table, never expected I'd say that one...)
"Here's a table. It costs two months' salary, they sent me a wrong part, and I don't like the material of the playing surface. Very satisfied."
I have never looked for table reviews. I have never thought about looking for a review of a table. But when ProZD does the review I'm gonna watch.
the unfortunate part about the modular gaming table right now is that it is not currently available to buy on there website
I went into this thinking this was a bit, but was pleasantly surprised to find an actual table review
Oh yay, I looked at this just window shopping a couple days ago and now I crave it even more
I'm curious about the strength of the cupholders since they're magnets.
I've come to know wyrmwood as "that company that makes cool shit I'll never afford"
I saw this at PAX Unplugged last year and it really is nice. Pretty expensive for all that BUT, not a bad price when you realize that it's Both a legitimate real wood dining table and gaming table with all the little perks/features you mentioned in the same space. I'd get one if i had the cash and somewhere to put it.
i'm a simple person. i see shiny nice table, *i click.*
I came for the memes, but I stayed for the beautiful stained wood
Tbh it’s a bit of a rip-off. There is no reason for the cup holders to be 120 dollars each.
That is an awesome table. The coasters / floating holders are an awesome touch as well.
How strong are the cupholder magnets?
Curious about this as well. Would hate for my drink to spill cuz the magnets aren't strong enough to hold a full drink.
That satisfyingly loud clicking sound should answer your question...it seems top notch..as they should be for $120 a piece.
It should hold all kinds of snacks too.
I don’t know how this video got recommended but thank you! The magnetic dinning topper is a great feature…would be great on a billiard table!
What happens if you spill something on top, does it go through the gaps?
Never thought id watch a table review. Also, thats a cool shirt
Ayee, that's a pretty nice table
Wow that's a really really nice. Love the overall concept. Looked at some company products too and I'm sold, they're sick.
"The table itself is Twenty-one..."
YOU BETTER SAY DOLLARS.
"The magnetic topper is Eighteen..."
YOU BETTER SAY DOLLARS.
Huh. Well, let's check out the video! and never even consider buying this.
Gorgeous table! Love the add ons! Thanks for sharing!
What if you spill something on the top surface? Can things leak through the top surface?
probably a little bit it does seem to have a slot and ridge that might stop more than normal but it would be a good idea to use a table cloth or something.
No Rolls Barred (Another TH-cam Channel) have the same (or atleast very similar) table. They poured water on it and it did leak a bit
It has gaskets, here is a great example: th-cam.com/video/fSDW_SPf8Ro/w-d-xo.html
They remind me of Lay-Z-Boy in that respect.
nice to have anne marie in the videos as always!!
That table looks sooo cool even though I rarely play video games and my flat isn’t big enough but my grandma would really like this to play games at her home once in a while
If anyone ever asks if the boardgame thing is going too far I just show them this video
From the makers of Gaming Chairs, Gaming Couches and even Gaming Banana Stands, get ready for Gaming Tables!
God, lifting the lid to reveal the mega dungeon with minis you have for your adventuring party is a high anyone could be happy chasing
What happens when you spill something on the dining surface? That seems like the biggest potential issue.
