Can the collar be tightened to protect from cold air in winter? Collar looks quite large for a normal neck size...thanks!

    Hi, gents,
Anyone know if the Halo pants will comfortably fit over top a large calf MX boot like the T7 or Gaerne Fastback Enduro?

Hey guys, I currently ride with full upper body fox armour (which is around 10 years old now), pod knee braces and just mx pants and jersey. We are doing some more ADV/dual sport style riding on road which makes me nervous (jacket/pants protection wise). . Would you suggest I ditch that fox armour and buy the chest and back protector to suit this jacket? I am looking to use this for dual sport style riding (enduro and light road touring). Or would you even not recommend the Halo and would I be better going something like the Alpinestar Venture R? Many thanks

Hang onto the MX gear for now. Layering is underrated. Just buy an enduro jacket with removable sleeves over your jersey and armour. You can always take the jacket off completely if you get too hot and store it in a bag and still be protected with your body armour. This is the reason I dont like integrated armour for long rides. As if you remove your jacket you remove your armour. That said this Halo jacket is really the first jacket I have seen which changes that for me as you really don't need to remove the jacket with such good ventilation.
But when it comes to saving $$ hanging onto your old gear and layering is always a good option. Have a look at the AS adventure spec layering system, not as a suggestion of what you should buy, but as inspiration on how you can create your own layering system for cheap at home.
Edit: Just realised this comment was 10 months ago, hopefully its still helpful for you.

Nobody ever says how bloody heavy this thing is once you put a back protector in it - 4kg, maybe more
I hated it for that very reason

This is not a review, it's more an overview. Would be nice to see it tested in real conditions

For a review, go check out the video from Ryan from Fortnine, which lead to it being out of stock everywhere for nearly six months.

@@benbookworm yes I've seen it there for the first time 👌 and I'm looking for a review that shows real conditions. I work in the rain for more than 10hrs a day and I'd like to know if this jacket would take it

@@minamitoge Ryan wore it in his latest video about his new ADV bike, showing he's definitely still using it. I haven't found many other reviews, probably because nobody has had one in stock to review until just recently when I got mine a few days.
Really, the waterproofing is from the removable liner, which is not special. It's nice that it can be inside, outside, or independent, but eh. If you're strictly looking at rain proofing, look into regularly applying water proofing sprays to your gear or cover-alls like Frogg Toggs that can be replaced when (not if) they leak.
