Jaguar diffs were Salisbury Powr Lok up until 1985-86 when they used a Dana 44 (no drain plug & steel rear cover & an odd sized ring gear bolt) then they switched back to GKN PowerLock diffs (which were essentially Salisbery). You could swap the entire internals between housings, but you can't mix and match parts. AFAIK GKN bought Salisbury, and then they were both acquired by Dana. Oh and a modern Torsen LS Carrier can be installed these days.
The 70's XJ and XJS came out with a factory 3.31 gear in many applications. I just would've bought a good used one and put new seals in it. The rear ends in these things are bulletproof. Also, you should've beefed up the rear subframe cage, you will develop bends and cracks in it where the diff bolts to the top.
Hello I have a 1984 XJS Jaguar. Which I am doing a swap with a LS3 6.2 motor. On the driver side my manifolds are hitting on my frame wheel and steering shaft. What type of swap exhaust manifold do you use on your Jaguar swaps to avoid this problem. Waiting for your reply..Thanks
How can I stop the load guitar music and enjoy the build?

Y DIDN'T you purchase the correct carrier for the gear ratio, Dana has always had 2, dependent on ratio-1 for 4:10 and lower, 1 for 3:73 and higher
