      This video is pretty misleading though with it's argument and examples. Yes you should make adaptations from game to game but for example the first clip they showed of the xayah rakan vs lucian sona was literally just rakan griefing thinking he's somehow going to kill the lucian with heal and sona with exhaust walking past the minion wave. I agree with his point that you should adapt to your support's playstyle but saying "don't go X build/runes on a champ because your support may just run it down lvl 1 instead of backing off after a good trade and him landing the W knockup" is just nonsense. Literally instead of not going a build you can communicate and ping your aery and even type "I am lethality/poke xayah" and let them know.

  • @Rafix

    I play support, main rakan specifically, and several videos from this channel helped me, but this specific video was certainly one of the most important, even as a support it's good to learn this, thank you

    Interesting vid
    I'm a support and I usually drag my adc along into engagements, which usually work out with one or two kills.
    Suppose this can give me another thing to consider when picking Leona. Not as much of a problem on Pyke though since the enemy is the one who gets displaced.

    • @fengliu975
      @fengliu975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      the issue with leona is that she can engage anytime she wants where as the hook champs have to beable to lane hook which usually falls into the good circumstances for a play

    • @YuYuYuna_
      @YuYuYuna_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say the problem is blitz or any other league app. The issue is HOW people use those apps. They actually do provide good info if you use them as a tool and not a crutch. Most people do the latter and just auto import runes, summoners, items, etc. so they don't have to actually think. They're likely "lazy gamers" and when provided something that allows them to think less they will jump at it immediately. I use blitz/UGG but I use it to view my winrates, cs averages, KP, gold difference @ 15, etc. It's actually useful information that I take in and has helped me learn and refocus in my games where after awhile I might start slacking on X thing and need to make a more conscious effort to do that thing. So these apps aren't a bad thing, it's just like any learning tool that makes things incredibly easy and accessible. You end up with two types of people: Those who use it as a tool to memorize and improve their thought processes and decision making so they can become better and work towards becoming self reliant and then you have people who say "Sweet! Runes and match ups always confuse me, here's this app that tells me all this info so I don't have to memorize it myself!"

    Support here and really liked this video. Since watching you guys I have paid way more attention to my partner/his champion select and also playing around him meaning reading him not only on Champ select but also in lane. It gets frustrating when adcs seems to want to do their thing but it's fine as long as they have a plan unfortunately in most cases there is no plan 😕 😔 😢 love bot lane because it is one of the most rewarding when done well. Anyway good to see this video really helpful.

    I will say I feel like this is also down to the enemy champs. Personally I have had this sort of situation, playing xayah with rakan. In chamo select I thought I'll go crit lethal tempo to match the all in and if rakan just fights level 1 with me we can win with the shared xayah w. Then guess what? He just sat afk for 6 levels and we lost automatically. If I had gone the poke build, as this was a time the poke lethality was better than crit, and in that game they didn't have sustain and had heavy all in. In that game I could've had more impact by poking the enemy since my support didn't do what I expected they would. In the first game of this video the enemy support is sona, who counters poke as a sustain champion. Personally I think playing around how you can abuse enemy champions is better than synergisting with your support, because imo it's just as common that your support doesn't do what their champion is good at as it I they do what they are good at, and the same is true for the enemies.

    This is a really bad guide lol. 80% of your adc "guides" are actually just videos gaslighting adc's.
    I've paid for coaching by neace and Saber. Both high challenger/pro level players. The anti-adc/pro support bias is seething from this video.
    1) you say nothing about pings.
    2) you don't talk about lane match-ups (poke vs catch vs all in) or win conditions.
    3) you actually encourage bad plays by saying to play to match your support's play style - this will ACTUALLY fuck your games up. If your support does something stupid, literally every good coach I have worked with has said to just let your support int and don't int with them. Your job as an adc is to farm up and scale. League of legends is a game of survival horror for an adc. Your job is to survive until you can fight back. Not to play with your support or to match their inting playstyle. Only time you should play with your support is when they actually have a brain, and 90% of the time, they don't.
    4) better advice would simply be to learn how to identify when a support is a bad support and then, when they prove that they are, completely ignore everything they want to do and play for yourself. Let them int their brains out. Just don't int with them. As soon as my support ignores my pings and does random shit that I red ping them not to do, I ignore everything they say and do and just play for myself. I start off trusting all supports equally at the beginning. But once they've shown they have no clue how the game works, that's it for them. Nothing they say matters. Just farm up and hope they're not actively inting to feed your laner adc. Wave management is your friend. Slow pushing and freezing in particular depending on whether or not you're behind or ahead respectively.

    I really liked this video. It's not a mechanics or even a strategy thing, but I think it's so important for people to hear that bot lane success is, at least in part, just straight up team work. There's definitely something to be said about trying to sync up with your duo--kind of the point of wanting to play bot lane, imo, but a lot of League players don't get that fsr.

    • @YuYuYuna_
      @YuYuYuna_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just providing what you said leaves out a lot of context. Not saying the leona is right to ping back and playing passive but a possible reason is that the enemy JG or mid is roaming or is likely on their way bot after reset and she's trying to get you not to take trades and fights while they are either on their way or nearby.

    In the first example you are absolutely trolling by saying that xayah should go on hit against sona/orianna. U didn t show their jg but it's just stupid not to go lethality into their comp, since lethality is the more powerful build in the current meta and it is far easier to play in solo queue because you have range to keep urself safe. Other than that the lethality build is also better for all in in bot 2v2, since you can one shot squishies once you get a dirk. The fight that you have shown is absolutely pointless since xayah (with whichever rune page) sucks at all ins at lvl 1, she needs her E to win 2v2 so she needs level 2 or 3.
    You shouldn't adapt your build to your support, but obviously to the enemy comp.

    Not sure about adapting your playstyle to your support. This means that you're adapting to a random playstyle every game. This means that your playstyle is flexible and random every game. People want some solid fundamentals to climb with, I'm just not sure "Adapt to the rando" is the way to go. Particularly when- Support could be fantastic, support could be terrible because the MMR got it wrong (and who's never seen that?), support could be trolling, support could be trying support for the first or second time in ranked. Its just so unreliable to adapt to your support in SoloQ.

      I STRONGLY recommend disabling both /All chat and Allied chat in settings. 99% of the time it's just a distraction and no one ever types anything of value like strategizing. All the info you need in league can be gained through better map awareness, understanding of jungle pathing (where they started), and pings.
      Ezreal is a great champ to main and play a lot of in solo queue though. Very reliable, consistent, and self sufficient ADC. The only thing I would tell you is to ping more in situations like that. Yes it won't always get them to listen, but the point is you need to accept the reality that bot lane is two random strangers playing a coop game together where the ability to "win" depends on their ability to communicate and work together. In your example if you notice you are at a minion disadvantage before the 2nd wave, just danger ping the wave and position more defensively. Let the wave come to you and respect the level 2 of the enemy. Smart usage of pings can telegraph to your support what your intentions are in any situation and let them know what you want to do. That's why so many low elo ADCs have problems in lane. They don't ping what their intent is enough. Are you trying to fast push on the 3rd wave to get a free reset? Spam the assistance ping on the wave to try and get your support to help fast push the wave. Are you trying to freeze and keep the wave on your side because you know the enemy JG is bot side or will be? Spam the danger ping on the wave a few times and press tab and ping the enemy JG. Doing things like this is the best way to communicate to your support what your intentions are and what you are looking to do. You can't just sit there and expect other players to be on the same page even if it seems "so obvious that Shaco was going to be bot side" the only way you'll see changes in their behavior is by pinging smartly and proactively to let your support know what your game plan is at that point in time.

    As a Leona main that last example hit way too close to home. The only ADC I understand is Tristana cause she passively shoves due to her E but there really is no excuse for ADCs auto shoving waves all the time. Especially since I politely ask them to let the wave shove so we can look for a kill at level too and hopefully not take too much poke. THEY THEN PROCEED TO CRASH THE FIRST WAVE 😒

    Too much flame on support when ADC do the mistake here. Flame the support when he does a mistake (that's okay), but don't flame the ADC when he does one (wich is hypocrite). You can't ask an engage support to go for a "poke build", unlike an ADC. But very interesting video. Talking about lack of adaptability from the ADC player is nice, but it's done without the flame like it's not a mistake. "Sadly, you must understand people you play with. Shocking ! Almost make me want to quit the game!".

      Rakan has different options here. He can learn Q and poke as Xayah is doing, or he can use his W defensively, hitting whoever is near his lane partner, instead of going far away from her. By going away from your team and into the enemy, you're basically pretending everyone's level 6 already. Simply having taken W isn't enough to say that he's only able to engage. He can also disengage. In fact, his E sends him right back to her which if she's at relative safety is disengaging.

  • @shadows_star

    How do I do wave management when every single support perma shoves my lane? Can't exactly control my wave if they're constantly hitting every minion.
    Also completely lost me when he said Draven was an extremely popular champion in low elo. Haven't seen a draven in almost a whole season.
    Finally, as he starts to suggest that the builds were wrong to go Poke Xayah, I think he fails to recognize that Xayah has such a short auto range that if she goes the poke build so she can have an impact when her team can't allow her to safely get autos in on a team that has much bigger pressure in that space. For example, to get into auto range on a leona jinx matchup, she'd need to walk past leona to hit jinx which is ultimately not going to be feasibly through the whole game. Thus, you get infinitely more out of aery build than lethal because often people don't build their comps allowing you to do things. Maybe lethal would have helped in that trade, but it'd lose you the game because the lane isn't a vacuum.

    When u have a bad support, is it wrong to get lvl2 boots and roam mid a lot to get them ahead. Shove your wave, roam mid, wave bounces back, you collect it then repeat? I find that you don't fall behind much in gold or cs in silver-gold elo and since games don't last long, often a midlaner that is ahead is more crucial.

    • @scottgill2643
      @scottgill2643 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem I find is that the number one thing done by the lane with superior push power is to constantly ram waves into turret. It keeps priority semi-favorable for your lane, but it often forces EVERYONE to stay in lane for that sweet goldXP.
      This is particularly why I've been very happy spamming Fiddlesticks support: I steal procs of spellthief until I'm lvl 6, and then start looking for the plays. If we happen to have a jungler who wants to gank for us, then Fiddle can help with that. The only counter to Fiddle is vision, and lots of it.

      That sounds horrible in general because leaving your support alone means they can't finish their income item upgrades which means slower to get your team extra wards and slower for them to get max value in stats out of their 400 gold item. I see a lot of bottom lane players spending too much time trying to help jungle when they are doing just fine without help and can escape but they force the jungle to feel obligated to fight and it ends up in disaster for 4/5 of the team.

  • @YuYuYuna_
    @YuYuYuna_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes you should make adaptations from game to game but for example the first clip they showed of the xayah rakan vs lucian sona was literally just rakan griefing thinking he's somehow going to kill the lucian 100-0 with heal and sona with exhaust while walking past the minion wave. If the enemy bot was any good they would have just immediately exhausted him and turned since rakan is literally walking in their minion wave and SHOULD be dead since he already used W and is LVL 1 chasing past the minion wave thinking he can 100-0 lucian with heal and exhaust.

    • @tudortanasa7798

    • @YuYuYuna_
      @YuYuYuna_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The biggest thing you can do on your side as the support is massively step up your ping game. Want to pressure for a lvl 2 play and there's 2 melee creeps left? ping "on the way" MULTIPLE times, not just once. Do this for everything you want to do. I know a lot of Supports say they hate doing this type of stuff but if that's the case then stop playing support. The job of support is to be a leader for your team but also for your ADC in bot lane especially if you're in low elo.
      Now for the janna vs rell example you gave, what I can suggest to you is actively try to work on your ability to bait her tornado and abuse lane brushes with sweeper (oracle lens). In a matchup like that you can still get off engages but what you need to do is work on your movement and feigning aggression to bait out her tornado. For example play in the lane bush, sweep it if she wards and then constantly poke your head out of the bush and walk at the enemy adc or the janna for a second. The goal of this is to put them on edge, give them something to worry about. A matchup like that vs an opponent who knows how to cancel your rell w is a skill match up and thus you need to jockey for positioning and try to bait out her tornado.
      It's similar to playing thresh vs leona. That's a skill matchup that does slightly favor the thresh because of his flay (E) being able to cancel leona E. Similarly is something like blitz vs morgana. While morg does technically hard counter blitz it is still possible to win lane, it's just significantly harder and involves a lot of jockeying for position, abusing lane brushes with sweeper and in combination with your ADC trying to force out Morg E through good poke and trades.
