Hi, Even if you recommend otherwise, any idea when hardwiring an A800s 70 Mai to the car (E91 BMW in my case) what fuse spots should you use? One should provide power all the time, the other just when starting the car. Hardwireing is necesary for parking surveillance.
Already installed more than 15 unit of dashcam (some different brand/model), i would advise not to buy rear view mirror mounted type of dashcam. Most of them designed for left hand drive car so not suitable for our right hand drive car.
@@KonWaiLuen I normally remove the pillar cover and just run the wires along with the other wires in there. Some curtain airbags extend along the roof. Not sure and not an expert but im afraid it could interfere during accidents and airbag deployment as it goes accross the airbag placement. But then again im not an expert. The force of the airbag could just negate the wire 🙂.
Researching for my own purchase as well. The list provided are quite outdated unfortunately. Here’s a list of newer ones. - 70mai A810 (starvis 2, ADAS, screen) - Viofo A139 (starvis 2, wireless button) - Viofo 119 mini 2 (starvis 2, voice command, wireless button)

One video I watched suggested the high beam fuse. Try to go for a fuse that has matching current rating and for a non-critical system.

Good feedback!
Will the wire that crossed the pillars not interfere with the airbag deployment?
As long as you're conscious running it along the side of the pillar, it's fine.

@@Nico-kz6sg it's a reasonable precaution, and I think you've gotten it right
what if the 12v socket is at the centre console (majority of cars)? should show that routing method
Even easier, actually, just run under the dashboard

Thanks for the feedback. I have no personal experience with Viofo, but will check them out and update the list accordingly
