I successfully install my dash cam according to this tutorial, I really appreciate this video! Some caveats I encountered are 1. I cannot stuff in the lines in the left front of passenger's seat as shown in 12:40, because the plates around are solid not like the ones above the door. This is the only place that the lines are visible 2. Getting through the hole in the cargo plate is insanely hard during 17:07, but I made through using just hand, so if you don't have zip tie is still acheivable. Anyways, many thanks!
Sweet man. I think we have the same car. If not the tailgate area is very similar. Anyway this was a huge help. Somehow I had a giant zip tie hanging around and did the exact same thing you did.
Great video. But if you power the camera from a cigarette lighter then how will the camera record when hit and the car is off? I paid 20.00 extra to have the power provided from a fuse box. Any battery vs super capacitor comments?
HANDS DOWN the best video!!!! I thought I needed to pay someone to do this and OMG you made me change my mind!!!! Liked, subbed, and commented for algorithm!
Thanks for the helpful video. I’m seeing a lot of comments concerned about putting the back camera wire in front of the side curtain airbag. But with the way you’re doing it, isn’t the cable going behind the airbag anyway?
Most cameras support off center mounting, some have swivel mounts that allows you to go as far as the a Pilar while others you just need to mount them at a slight angle to re center the image.
Hi! i have the same car and would agree i like it better up on that black plastic part. Did it stick there and remain ok over time? Seems like it wouldn't adhere as well to plastic vs glass. Would love to hear. thanks!
Does this camera do a lot of wear on the car battery? I'm really concerned about the power usage on my battery. Is there a rechargeable battery pack I could buy?
I just picked one up and was thinking of mounting it the same way you did here, but I was under the impression that the dashcam lens should be as close to the windshield as possible to reduce glare. Are you having any issues with reduce video quality?
Nope. Regardless of the distance, you’re still going to get windshield glare. But to combat that a CPL filter will completely eliminate the glare. Most camera models have this as an add-on option either stick on or click on. And for others, there are aftermarket stick on filters.
I've only just started this video and I've only had my Tucson for a week, I find the boot is heavy to open.. How did you open it automatically? Is that a certain spec vehicle?
Hi can u put a dash cam in without putting through your battery & also my cigarette lighter doesn’t work. Can I go through the outlet where I plug in my phone charger?
Nice. Just a few comments, if interested...cool, if not, ignore them. Running wire over the a-pillar air bag? Top clip on Tucson A-pillar is noted to break it is a type of flexible retainer for the air bag to allow the pillar molding to move when bag goes off. Not expensive at a dealer...no big deal. Would like to see a follow up about the location of the install of the front camera. Was there any vibration with mounting to the plastic covering the safety camera from the dealer? A straight connector would go through the large rubber tube grommet and then when you get to the camera, get a 90 degree USB male/female adapter short cord. Amazon.
The system is completely usable, even with the dashboard glare at its worst . I’m just getting much better video quality by installing a CPL filter. Just like my $3000 DSLR camera didn’t come with a CPL filter. I had to buy that on my own.
9:28 but will it block my curtain airbag ??
You gave me the confidence to install the wires myself. Thank you.

Could it compromise the side curtain airbags if you tuck the wire into the headliner?
Doubtful you aren't sticking it down that far, just superficially
Very nice arrangement. It would be great if you show parking hardwiring. Thank you.
Awesome video. Thinkware made a harness that you can plug into the obd port which allows the cameras to record in parking mode.
Yep, I didn’t go that route because I’ve got the blackboxmycar powercell battery pack for parking mode.
@@WorkPlayDrive where can i get that from for parking mode
By far the best, most straight forward video I've seen on how to do this. Thanks!
Sweet man. I think we have the same car. If not the tailgate area is very similar. Anyway this was a huge help. Somehow I had a giant zip tie hanging around and did the exact same thing you did.
One of the best rear hatch install I’ve ever seen because you did not remove the rear weather strip or mess around with the headliner
Thank you 😊
Thank u so much because i was trying to figure out how to run wires in my daughters tucson and u gave me great ideas your the man
Great video explaining 😊just had one fitted today but he's forgot to use the heatshield & fit the camera filter which I was hoping to see 👌👍🇬🇧
I don't know man. I think the side curtain airbags live there...
What's your view?
Wires of course should not go in front of the air bags.
Great video. But if you power the camera from a cigarette lighter then how will the camera record when hit and the car is off? I paid 20.00 extra to have the power provided from a fuse box. Any battery vs super capacitor comments?
Brilliant demo. Thank you!
Great video, I also have a Tucson 2022, was wondering if you had a video about using the fuse box as opposed to the cigarette lighter.
Sorry no Hyundai based videos on hardwiring installs.
HANDS DOWN the best video!!!! I thought I needed to pay someone to do this and OMG you made me change my mind!!!! Liked, subbed, and commented for algorithm!
great video gives me lots of ideas for my suv. Love the time spent. Anyone that doesn't can always fast forward
Great install, but one question, in case curtain airbags deploy what happens with the wire that goes to the back camera?
Seconding this. Wouldn’t it obliterate your passenger?
Great video, I will give it a go in the future. Thanks
Thank you for this
Glad to help
Thank you for that zip-tie method instructions
one of the best dash cam installation video, in detailed. thak you soo much.😊
Good tutorial, application is universal (cuz I have a diff suv.) But I wonder, No reverse wire hook up? Thank you.
wait that cable going into the pillars - aren't there airbags there ?
What's the answer to Monty's question?
In cars which have airbag you can't do like this you'll need to open that whole pillor then pass the wire below the airbag not above
Nice job brother
Thanks for the helpful video. I’m seeing a lot of comments concerned about putting the back camera wire in front of the side curtain airbag. But with the way you’re doing it, isn’t the cable going behind the airbag anyway?
I want the rear camera upfront for safety....but the cable is to long and no where to hide
There are 3 cam systems you may like. You have one out the front, one out the back and then one with IR night vision for inside the car.
I thought it was a very good video! Thanks for sharing this! You definitely gave me ideas on how to solve issues!
Does this have the same power connect and rear camera connector as the F750?
I have a 2019 ford explorer how do u hook up the red wire. The hot wire up
What about mounting it off center?
Most cameras support off center mounting, some have swivel mounts that allows you to go as far as the a Pilar while others you just need to mount them at a slight angle to re center the image.

Is there some kind of attachment where I can put on the rear camera to be able to rotate it so I can use it as a rear or interior camera.
I guess you are not worried about the interference with the side airbags?

I've only just started this video and I've only had my Tucson for a week, I find the boot is heavy to open.. How did you open it automatically? Is that a certain spec vehicle?
The trunk opens automatically, it’s a bit heavy trying to open it manually
Hi, are you in NJ? if so, interested in an install of mine?
Greta video, some great tips thanks for taking the time to cover all the relevant points 👍
Will this work on my new 2022 Rolls Royce Phantom? Don’t know how if I’ll run into any issues being that this car is mainly hand built.
Not sure sorry don’t have access to one.
Perfect i love it 👍
It does not have a reverse back up I was hoping for how you install the wire for reverse
Best video ever what I wanna know is how can you zoom in into people’s plates? Does the camera do that by itself?
Hi can u put a dash cam in without putting through your battery & also my cigarette lighter doesn’t work. Can I go through the outlet where I plug in my phone charger?
There are other videos that instruct you to use fuse converter I believe, so you don't use your phone charger or cigarette lighter.

the wire runs over the separation between the a pillar in the roof liner, which is directly above the airbag
Thank you!
Don't you have airbags in the A pillar that you ran the wire across?
especially the chapters identified
Thank you 🙏

@@WorkPlayDrive just subbed 🙂
Thanks brother 🙌
Your zip tie is very long indeed, I've never seen one so long in my life!
If there is a known dashboard glare, then the filter should be included with the device............
