Thanks Joe. These videos are invaluable for making decisions. As another person has said, "200T for removals and the smaller ones for pruning". Tendonitis is what every climber will want to avoid and the lighter saws help delay that. 3lbs may seem indifferent, but it's the repetitive three pounds of six plus hours of climbing 5 days a week for a climbers career that necessitates practical decision making.
The 2511T is a joy to climb with. With a muffler mod, I don't find that it lacks power in anything you'd use it for. Little sucker rips. No desire to own a 200T.
Hey Thanks Joe I appreciate this video a lot. Don't know if you remember me asking you to dyno a stock ms200t and you replied how hard it is to find a stock one. Guessing this would mean my ported and decked 200t must have about 3hp. Thanks for listening to your subscribers requests and please keep the awesome videos coming. I check everyday hoping you've released another one. All the best
Thanks for the videos and inspiration. I have a couple 2511t cylinders coming. They are cheap enough that I am going to start playing around with the grinder with my older boy.
@trvr_inds SawAgain is a great online shop and they have a decent price on the 2511t short blocks. Overall, looks like the cost has gone up on the cylinder/case/crank assembly. SB1120 I believe.
As a no-trim climber fuel capacity is key - if I can delimb, drop the top and drop a couple rounds to where the bar starts getting too small that's a big win. I go from a 200t 14" to a 362 25" when climbing. The 2511 ported would probably work too, but I'd jump to a 3/4 wrap 261 with an 18" bar when out of fuel on the top handle.
Most run a 12-14 on the ported 2511. Not sure how much run time they get, but most seem to like run time. Will be fun to see how much I can get out of this 200t
I run ported 200t, ported 150 and slightly modded 2511. I usually reach for the 150 unless the branches get over 3”. The stock 2511 is terrible though. It really needs muffler and timing advance at a minimum.
Echo 2511t lightest top handle saw out and under $400 doing 1/4 conversion brings them to life with muffler mod and good air filter adjust the carb your set
A piped 2511t fits my needs. Soon I'll receive an Oregon Nano kit to try the little 0.325 / 0.043 NK chain. I have no need to pack around 3.5# more of the 200t.
I have 2 of the 2511t saws. I would take the less rpm’s for half the weight. It’s so well balanced and just goes all day long. I have a 12 inch and a 14 inch bars on them, I’m thinking of going to the panther 1/4 pitch bar. Anyone has experience with how the 2511t works with a 1/4 pitch?
I installed 1/4 panther kit on my 2511t with just muffler mod and carb tuning and it cut a 14inch chunk of oak wood like butter, no chatter or kickback just smooth cutting. Looking to get it ported tho eventually.
Im still running my ol cs3000 th from '97 an never put it in wood bigger than 4 or 5 inches new clutch bars an chains air an gas filters and its Never let me down runs better than new but i think the diaphrams in carb starting to harden . I think i paid $79 for it new
For 10% more power when both ported over the echo, hell no its not worth getting a 200/201 over this feather saw. Like you said, the echo 2511 is in his own class.
Hey Joe! I was wondering, could you do a video on muffler mods for 372xp OE's? I'd really be curious on the different styles and their power advantage over a stock one.
200t is discontinued? Pre epa crackdown?? Can’t find any around me…. More fair comparison would be current production models from husky, stihl and echo…
I have to have both!!! These saws and the 201 house did for me are my bread and butter. Those wcs spikes are the way to go. Those extra 3 pounds you feel after 8 hours that’s for sure!
Its not only about after a long time in the tree. I know I can get into some really awkward positions to get the ideal cut, and a lighter saw makes a difference there as well, not to mention limb walking and just general movement through the tree.
I have the 2511T that is stock, the 355T that is stock, 201T that is stock, and recently purchased the battery 161T. I prefer the 161T over the 2511T and the 201T over the 355T. I have 3 other Echo saws that are not top handle. The only saw I do not like is the 2511T. I really think I need it ported, muffler mod, and the 1/4 inch bar and chain. Not sure if i want to spend the time and money on it.
DO IT. Sell the 355t if thats what you need to do to make it happen. Check out August Hunicke's channel. Since he ported the 2511, that's his go to climbing saw anymore. While I love my 355t (stock) on large cuts i prefer the 201, and from what I gather, the ported 2511 will be really close the the stock 355t.
I watch August Hunicke and have the Monkey Beaver saddle and the speedline kit. He makes some great products. But the parts i need for the saws have been out of stock. I put my 2511T aside for now. Maybe one day, i can get it ported but i trust the other top handles more.
Joe I really like how informative ur vids are best in the business I gonna. Come see u soon Dyno my Miller mod dolmar 7910 n have u mod my echo 7310 luv the Dyno to prove gains
I have both of those saws. Both I have ported and are strong. Pruning 2511, removals 200t. Great video as always!!
Usually I go with the lightest saw I can get by with.
I really like that approach.
The 2511T is a joy to climb with. With a muffler mod, I don't find that it lacks power in anything you'd use it for. Little sucker rips. No desire to own a 200T.
I have a ported echo 355t. I LOVE IT

I can't wait to get my 2511 ported❤❤
I really appreciate the response I love my 361s
2511 is a sporty little saw! But it will never replace the 200t, in my humble opinion….. thanks for sharing buddy! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
They both have a place that is for sure.
Thank you for watching.
I agree.

An ms201 will get you further before switching out saws, they get good fuel economy compared to a 200.

Damn it, nobody gives the 355T any love. The power is so much better over the 2511. Thx for the test Joseph👍🏻
You're right on the money, im going to build one and send to joe for dyno someday
@@vinzer8808 I have a stocker I could sent right now, I have no desire to port it, it’s strong out of the box. Love those saws!
I have one here to get ported.
355t are well worth the money! 1/2 price of Stihl Mine has held up to the abuse over the years
You climbing Doug?
I’d love to get me a2511. It would have to be my go to for limbing and climbing
Just what they are made for.
Echo 2511t lightest top handle saw out and under $400 doing 1/4 conversion brings them to life with muffler mod and good air filter adjust the carb your set
From what i've come across online, in stock form, the 2511 is a bit weak, but perks right up with a muffler mod, let alone porting.
I wonder what a ms194t muffler modded and timed advanced would compare to a 200t
A piped 2511t fits my needs. Soon I'll receive an Oregon Nano kit to try the little 0.325 / 0.043 NK chain. I have no need to pack around 3.5# more of the 200t.
Great video 200ts are strong working saws
Cool comparison joe. Any saw put on your dyno is an awesome video.
Thank you.
These 2 seem to be the ones most like to talk about.
Always informative videos to aid in choice of saw. Great job Joe!
I use my 2511t for removals as much as i can if its bigger wood then i go to the 355t then the 620 or 455 rancher
Love the channel. A cool video would be to compare max flow air filter kits vs stock filter
He just did a few videos back
I did the West coast/ Redbeard ms400 filters a few video back.
Once I get to a 660/661 I'll have to try the maxflow setup.
How can a port job bring such a substantial power gain? Why would Echo not have made the saw like that from new? I am impressed.
A lot of power is left on the table to meet various oem requirements.
Can you do a ripsaw 2511T dyno? I’m curious if that ripsaw 2511T will break 2hp
On your 2511, how many turns out on the low and high jets did you need to go after porting?
Would be curious to see where a modded ms194 would fall in this realm? I have a MM and timing advance on it that pulls right with a 201t...

Thank you
Yeah man I would rather have the liter saw in my hands for sure, but that's me.
Can't possibly go wrong with either one
Joe, what is the starting point for the carburetor on the 2511 with limiter caps removed?
What a bargain the 2511 is!

Nice video Joe!!
Thank you, soon enough you will get to try both options fully ported.
do you know where I can ship my echo saws for porting?
Nice work Joe! I enjoy your videos.
Thank you
I think a 355T would be a much better competitor to the 200T
I have a 200t sweet saw.
You know what we want to see!!!
For 10% more power when both ported over the echo, hell no its not worth getting a 200/201 over this feather saw. Like you said, the echo 2511 is in his own class.
200t for me without a doubt 👍
I have an old 330t it dont have a ton of power but starts every single time
2511t better choice over the 330t
Better to compare the 355 with the 200t. About the same displacement. I think the 355 is still a little lighter.
I've seen one fella running smaller chain and 20-in bars on them have you seen that
I have seen some longer 1/4" pitch bars used
Hey Joe! I was wondering, could you do a video on muffler mods for 372xp OE's? I'd really be curious on the different styles and their power advantage over a stock one.
I have a muffler test planned for the 660 again, since that is what I used for the diy "pipe" tests.
👍
Do the 200/201s eat rings? I have 2 with low compression and there is little to no scoring but the cross hashing is gone
Can't say that they are known to eat rings, but maybe new rings will fix them up.
@@dynojoemods2764 I appreciate it. If that's not it, I'm not in too deep and they should be changed if I go further anyhow. Thanks!
Thanks Joe been waiting for this!👍

The only reason the 2511 will be king is because they don't make the 200 anymore. Oh and it went to Jenny Craig...😆

Yes, and old 7" kart dyno
