I don't know when you got into birding but if you are a beginner you are doing fantastic! Can't imagine how much fun it is to rack up lifers in Oz. Cape Barren goose encounter was spiritual, I would die.
You will have better luck with more experience, I don't know why but it just happens. I used to think 20 was a big day, but I've gotten 40+ days now; I'm still a novice though, experienced birders seem to nab 100 like it's nothing
Jealous of the beautiful fauna of Oz, tho ofc every corner of the world has amazing stuff to be seen. And jealous of the lack of people you encountered, if I can't lie, lol, makes perfect birding. Looking forward to seeing more
