I just got an R7, and paired it with a canon RF 100-400 mm lens plus a 1.4x extender. The crop sensor on the R7 takes the big Sig out to 800mm equivalent but I get close to that with my lens and extender though the ISO would be better on yours with a low light at full stretch. You would have somewhat better aperture but the canon lens is better quality. Whatever you do, keep the lens away from rain and don't let it get any moisture on it. I have a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary which has been ruined after about five years with a DSLR, getting condensation and muck deposits on at least three levels of internal lenses, though I do live in a very wet area, and I have had to retire it. Hardly had time to work out all the settings, but for bird photography with the R7 you can't go past the TH-cam video on it by Jan Wegner.
Sounds like a great set up you have! Thanks for the advice, will definitely keep it away from rain ! I follow him on Instagram, will check out his R7 video!
Congrats on the new rig Jamie, nice to see other people keen on wildlife photography, happy snapping !!! 🤠😎
Thanks so much! So happy with the new set up! Can’t wait to shoot more in the new year
What mount is the sigma lens to go on the R7?
I had to purchase a canon adapter which is the EF to EOS R! The sigma lens I purchased is the I bought this one: SIGMA AF 150-600mm 5-6.3 DG OS "C" for canon!
weighty lens but you do get used to it...I am waiting for the 60-600 sigma L-mount to come down a little bit more then will pull the trigger on that.I have never seen brolgas before either but caught 2 feeding in a rice field at deniliquin coupla months back but I only had a zeiss sonnar150mm lens with me which just ws'nt enough...Great captures by You...Enjoy Jamie.Look fwd to watching your journey.(subd)
Oh yes the 60-600mm sounds amazing! Was so lucky to catch them. Thanks for the sub!
You should have went to the T-section, that’s where the rare birds are presently seen. You need to go back and take photos of the White-rumped Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, Long-toed Stint, Broad-billed Sandpiper, Australian Spotted Crakes…etc. All mostly seen in just one location -the Crake Pond inside T-Section.
Ohh amazing!! I will go there next time, thank you for the tip
That was actually a Whistling Kite not a Falcon. Falcons are more around seagull size
Woops!! Thank you for clarifying 🤭
Great job and great location. Been there a number of times. Has some rare and endangered species there at various times.
Thank you so much, it’s a beautiful place, different every time! I hope to spot some orange bellied parrots one day!
can i edit your photos for you
I like to edit myself, thanks for the offer 😌
It was nice to see you and your husband birding together. Hopefully he'll catch the bug and become a birder. There's an Aussie birdtuber I follow who did a great series of videos on fairywrens, which was the first time I'd heard of them. You did a great job capturing yours. I wish I could offer suggestions on where you should go but I don't know Australia at all! 😅. Good luck and Happy Birding!
Thank you so much! I hope he does too haha! Oh I will have to look them up, the fairy wrens are beautiful birds. Thank you for your comment, might have to go international one day!
@JamieBinnion The channel is Bird Walkz (QLD Australia and Beyond). He's mostly based in Queensland. He has a lot of cool videos of Aussie birds.
@@olenskafanboyawesome, I will check him out
Glad to see you've kept up the birding 😊
Thank you!! Definitely a wonderful hobby
What are the mountains at 4:46 ?
It’s the you yangs! Great for hiking, can bring dogs too
Ok glad i found your link, so this is my first time using this machine. This is not one of my hobbies its something new I need to make stencils for my RC vehicles and Military vehicles which are my hobbies. I figured buying this machine would be much cheaper then buying stickers and stencils from others.I’m going to give it a try to make a stencil picture. I like your video.
Thanks so much! Oh wow what a great idea, it should be much cheaper and you can customise all you like!! Enjoy the machine
Thank you for making this video, I got my daughter a cricut for xmas and we had a hard moment and its hard to figure everything out, im so glad we found you nad we will continue to follow you! merry christmas
Thank you so much! Hope your daughter loves her cricut!! It’s definitely a learning curve but so much fun, enjoy Christmas
Photographing flying-fox bats is an exhilarating experience that blends wildlife observation with creative artistry. These large fruit bats, known for their impressive wingspans and endearing faces, are most active during twilight and nighttime, providing photographers with unique opportunities to capture dramatic silhouettes against vibrant sunsets or the glow of the moon. Their agile flight patterns and the way they cluster in trees during the day offer dynamic and visually striking compositions. The challenge of freezing their motion mid-air, combined with the beauty of their translucent wings catching the light, makes photographing them both rewarding and technically demanding. Additionally, these bats play a crucial ecological role as pollinators and seed dispersers, making their images not only stunning but also a powerful tool for raising awareness about their conservation. Whether perched in a roost or soaring through the sky, flying-fox bats are captivating subjects that inspire awe and respect for the natural world. Im thrilled you got to see it.
Thanks so much for sharing the info! It was very special to see them and cannot wait to go back
nice video
Thank you!!
I'm interested in replicating stickers and sticker design. Would my scanner need to be the highest quality? What type of printer in needed? Looks like there may be a learning curve using the cricket
It’s definitely a learning curve but fun! My printer is an inkjet printer which is needed for most sticker papers!
can I use printable sticker paper for the printer?
Yes definitely!
Wow! Awesome spot, I'll have to check it out
It’s wonderful! Will have to go during sunset too
Nice. That would be cool to see those bats .
Thank you! They were so incredible to see up close
can you use normal paper in the printer when you print it? or do u have to have special paper to print it? x
You can but won’t be able to use it for many projects! I use adhesive photo paper for my stickers
Wow! Looks like a great spot for a honeymoon !
Would definitely recommend ☀️
Haha sounds like adhd
Haha it does!
Hiii JamiePlease help me😵💫My Cricuit Explorer Airr 2..only allows for my mat to grip but i noticed that the up/down arrow will not blink . the arrows light did not blink before i inserted mat but it did grip the mat but no blinking??
Hiii. Jamie..Update...i will be purchasing a MacBook Air...my Mac OS Desktop doesn't allow my Cricut Explorer Air 2 to connect!
Hi, so sorry I did not get back to you sooner, have your issues been resolved? Hopefully the air helps!
How to re calibrate the circut
There is a callibrate funciton within cricut
🥹👍
☺️☺️
@@JamieBinnion keep up the good work 😇😇
@@MvtMes thank you, appreciate the comment!
@@JamieBinnion good🥰
how did you attach your printed sticker paper onto the mat? It never shown in any tutorial i watch
It’s a sticky mat!
What’s for dinner tonight?
I'd love to make these but the link doesn't give me the download for design space. Can you please help me?
You have to save and then upload into design space yourself!
What paper did you use?
Adhesive photo paper
Can you please tell me the name of the printer that you're using to go with the cricut? And the type of material you're using please
I have a canon TS8360 however I think it has been discontinued. I use adhesive photo paper (Linked in my stickers video)
Hey Jamie! Just sent you an email :)
I have replied! :)
Still my machine didnt cutting correctly with all these steps , i dont know why ?
Have you been able to work it out? Sometimes it's shiny material, I had to re-calibrate many times before I got it working!
Hello, I have cricut but dont have a printer yet. Can I print it first to the printing shop then cut it at home? Is it possible?
You can however you need to print it through the Cricut app because it adds black lines on the borders. It is difficult without a printer as you may have cutting issues and need to go back to the shop.
could i use any printer to print to cut? what paper do you use
Yes but most materials need an inkjet printer. I use adhesive photo paper for my stickers
Nice, how do you aligh the printed sheet with the cutter so its cuts exactly?
There is a line on the horizontal and vertical of the sticky mat which you need to put on exactly otherwise it will not cut!
I need to know this but for draw and cut. Would you PLEASE show a solution for draw and cut not lining up on an explore air 3???
Sorry for the delay! Have you been able to sort this out? I haven't used the draw and cut function but would be happy to give it a go for a solution.
Hi! So I looked up Procreate because it’s the first I’ve ever heard of if, and I’m wondering do you have a free version or do you have to pay for it ?
It’s paid! I believe when I paid it was a once off $15 payment
What’s the name of the other program you use? Will you spell if for me and I’m going to try it out. I agree that the Cricut Design Space does take up so much room from the page.
I use procreate on the ipad! I think it was around $15 when I first bought it
What keyboard shortcut do you use to duplicate the design?
On procreate, I use the layers tab to duplicate. In cricut design space, i use CRTL + C, CRTL + V
Hi! Thank you for video! I have a question, the cricut soft is free?
There is a free version and a paid version which has more functions/ fonts
which Cricut do you recommend for total beginners and that's user friendly and site to buy?
I love the explore air range! The maker is the most complex and I find the joy to not have enough options. Did you end up purchasing one?
how does it cut? is it a laser or what?
It’s a blade
Yep a blade!
This was very fun and helpful! Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for this. I've been a graduate student for a while and just got a job at a College where I'll be teaching five days a week in the Fall. It's not a 9-5, technically because I'll be teaching two classes a day most days, but I haven't taught five days a week since I taught English in Japan a long time ago. Thus, I've been thinking about ways to prepare myself for my new working reality in the upcoming semester. Your tips were very helpful. I'll be looking forward to the routine, but I suspect I'll be doing a lot of birding in the afternoons to decompress (hobby 😊). Best of luck to you, as a new birder too, and whatever else you're doing.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! How is your new job going? Hope you are enjoying teaching
@JamieBinnion it's been wonderful. There are days I've been really tired. But once I start teaching I'm invigorated and not tired anymore because the students are so into the material. That said, I'm exhausted! 🤣 The semester is over next week and I am READY for the break.
@@olenskafanboythat’s so wonderful! Enjoy your well and truly deserved break
Great captures ❤
Thanks so much!
Really enjoyed this video. Your new birder enthusiasm is infectious and it was nice taking this joirney with you from St. Lucia, West Indies. Australia is such a great place for birding and nature enthusiasts and I hope to visit someday.
Oh wow thanks so much! Australia has some beautiful species, can’t wait to see more
So many wonderful bird sightings! ✨✨
Such a great spot for birding!
YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!Thank you!!!❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!
I am new to birding and love it. What is the 5th bird in your sequence?
It’s so fun! That is a new holland honey eater, gorgeous birds
