I'm in a pretty comfortable space with decluttering. It's taken years. Layers upon layers. I am onto finer organizing as the mood strikes. I've also been "decluttering" my UFOs by completing them. My daughter is 34. I'd saved dresses from babyhood through about second grade. I FINALLY made the Sunbonnet Sue quilt this year. There are more items I'm considering letting go. I bought a ukulele seven years ago and have only used it 4 or 5 times. I like the idea but don't choose to practice. Now it's out of the case and ready to play. If I don't do so soon, it's gone. Well, I wrote a novel here 😊 Thanks for the video, good perspective.

Thank you! It's been surprisingly hard to find "good" greens for me. 💚

I love the color of that shirt on you! From the first video I watched, I knew there was some underlying Spectrum association. I am the mother of an adult with Aspergers. He also has a hard time dealing with items. He doesn't have an emotional attachment to stuff at all, but he has a very hard time letting go due to the what if I need it mentality. He also is very low income due to being disabled(FDHD) so we run into, the not being able to replace (affordability) aspect. He doesn't see piles. He doesn't feel the need to purge. When he was young, he enjoyed taking things apart to find out how they worked. Yet, he never wanted to throw even broken items away. Now that he doesn't live at home, I wonder how bad his apartment has gotten. I was only ever invited in the day we moved stuff into it. Keep pushing yourself. I know that your life will get so much easier. You don't need to live amongst items that you are not using. You' can create a cat room, with toys and towers, a place to play. Then the other room could be an office/craft room that you attempt to keep cat free so they don't get into your yarn and such. Use the closets for actual storage, but that's all you should need. The rest of your items are for life now, not life later or never.

Aww thanks. Someone said something once like "yikes that seems like executive dysfunction issues." To which I simply responded "those are my people." Lol. Those are some great ideas to think about!

I am the same with my decluttering, I do it when I can and take it slow and every time I clear even just a drawer I feel a sense of relief. I try to only buy organizers if I feel they will actually help me be organized and not just so I can display everything in a clear container because I saw it on TikTok or TH-cam.

Yeah, I personally don't love clear acrylic containers. The only exception is I bought two that were affordable at Dollar General to add division to my freezer and contain beef in one and chicken in the other. I might get a third for all my frozen fruit partials.

Making decisions on items is overwhelming at times. I find now I can start in an area & when my brain says enough then I stop. I still know I made some improvement one day I might get faster but being a steady turtle is progress lol

It's good to recognize when to stop so you don't get too burnt out or regret a decision. We'll get there!
