"Oh, it's the Girlfriend... I mean Missus!" Don't get them mixed up Scotty! 🤭😋 🤣😂 Gotta love the Aussie bush... rain, hail or shine, it's always stunning! Thanks for taking us along Mate.
I was thinking the same thing. And always keep them apart. 😉🤔😁😄😂🤣
“To wives and sweethearts! May they never meet!”
Lol 😂😂😂
That Lace Monitor is perfectly fine. I’m guessing he’s pretty cold though. It is interesting to see it out basking in what looks like fairly cold weather. I think he’s just found a good spot to perch while he sleeps.
Isn't it kind of exposed like wouldn't an eagle come for it
@@mcmacmcgee Na. It will be fine. He knows exactly where he is and what he’s doing. He’s most likely just making the most of whatever sunlight there happens to be. It’s normal behaviour for them to just fall asleep on rocks like that.
Gday Scotty, That lace monitor's leg looked all good, just looks patchy as it had undergone ecdysis (shedding skin) more recently than the lower limb. I would agree it is odd location (very exposed) to bruminate in, which could be due to a number of different factors such as insufficient nutrition/ parasitism/ disturbance during brumination etc. Hopefully it makes it through the winter!
I was just thinking that it is brumation time but it’s definitely an odd spot. My beardie digs deep down undercover but will sometimes just dig a shallow spot to lie in for a few weeks.
Agreed on the patchy skin. Lacies tend to be in a constant state of sloughing so they have random patches all over them. If only they stayed as good looking as they do when they’re young lol.
Not too of odd spot to brumate, looks to be North facing and protected from the rain. Looks to be in good condition and pretty healthy. Apart from a few ticks, I'm sure he'll be right :)
Magnificent country.
The weather is gentle, have fun, looks like a great place to roam.
Another terrific vid Scotty. You say thanks for watching, I say thanks for what you do, bringing me/us a little slice of Australia, bushcraft, cooking and gear.
Another great vid. Being a member of the RFS here in the Shoalhaven, I really appreciate you highlighting the fire pit management after camp. It's that easy to prevent a major issue.
Love ya work!!
this was so relaxing to watch before bed. I have just the strength to type and say before I pass out that, that goanna was such a treat to see. Such a beautiful landscape...
At 1:00 that is a gorgeous piece of petrified wood from a tree of mass proportions.
Kind Thanks for this Beautiful Journey Scotty! You just can’t beat Mother Earth. Great Adventures and Many Blessings! DaveyJO In Pennsylvania
Picturesque doesn’t quite describe the beauty of that landscape….it almost feels spiritual. Really, love it!
Got to love the pagoda country, with all those wee pine trees and mazes.
You’ve inspired me to ditch the dehydrated and get a lightweight fry pan. Much tastier for 1-3 night walks 😋
Another great vid mate. Can't agree more about people taking care of their firepits/area to make sure it's well and truly out. The way you mentioned also makes it easier to Leave No Trace. Great tips mate.
Great scenery and seeing the goanna was a bonus. Glad it was okay and he/she was only hibernating. Great cave, good food (if not a little burnt) which all adds to the flavour. Thanks for sharing and look forward to the next one. Have a good week in Bali. Take care, be safe. ❤️ Dorset, UK
Top spot Scotty, I loved the bell birds in the morning - great video mate! 👍
Nothing beats an Australian view👍
So much better with the return to the cinematic music !!
Great place to overnight as always, thankyou for your time and effort.
Every campspot is just a dream mate. Perfection 101
Awesome shot with the Wattle up front changing focus to the Pagoda rock formations behind
Awesome spot and the dinner looked incredible!
"The fire's outside of the overhang" yep, that's where you put it.
Thanks everyone, I learned a lot about lace monitors and their brumination. Wonderful reptiles; we had a Bluetongue living under our house for years and then one day a lace monitor came and swallowed him - one gulp! And all in suburban Sydney.
What a marvellous place, Scotty, and the bird life! I love lyre birds and their antics, especially their courting ritual. And the Kewpie looked the goods. There is always plenty to learn and plenty to marvel at in a Scotty's Gone Walkabouts video, but a phone call from the boss just before full time was priceless!!
Good fortune with Bali and the FMD.
Can hear the Kookaburra in the background. Great stuff nice video.. soothing, and very beautiful.
Loved it Scotty!! Classic move by you though, burning the pancakes 😂 Such a beautiful landscape, how luck we are!
Great cinematography loved the gilla monster
Look's like another great trip that stir fry looked so good, thanks for sharing!
Also you gotta love the Aussie bush such a beautiful sacred land we all take for granted I love your channel could we possibly get a vid on the best way to sharpen your knife
Dinner looked great Scotty ,and Goannas are cool critters I've seen heaps of them over the years from way up north to where I live way down south and as for your advise on the fire pit I will guarantee when I have camped somewhere even if I've been there a week within a week or so you wouldn't know I'd been there .That's the way I was taught when I was a kid and I am 73 years old I was taught to leave no trace.
Over 100k subs now scotty. Well done mate!
It's great when you find a nice cave to camp in. I've only done it a couple of times, but it is a great experience. Love your work!
Nice one Scotty. Really enjoying the content mate. Cheers from an older bloke who wishes he could do what you do.
Yeh, now I'm chilled😎👌👍 Thanks Scotty👏 KTF🙏
Wow what an amazing experience! Does anyone know where this is? Somewhere in New South Wales, wiradjuri country, but which national park?
Wonderful nature, a good hike, I'm going to nature tomorrow too!
loved it! what epic views! I was doing an over nighter on my own and heard the crunching through the bush towards me and a goanna came and perched himself on the rocks beside my camp. Next morning I went to check on him and I thought he had passed in the night, he had ants crawling all over him and I went up and grabbed his tail and the bloody thing spun on me and came at me haha well I took off running hahaha what a shock! watching your video I was thinking I bet its just in a deep sleep.
I love the content! Awesome cinematography!
I just realised why I enjoy your videos so much you remind me of a teacher I had in grade 7. He left the school after that year and I only just saw him again today it was the highlight of my day to see that he remembered me still after 4 years. What a great video Scotty always enjoys your content! keep up the good work.
Came straight from Xander Budnick, I was thinking ‘when is Scotty gonna upload again, I could use some aussie bush’
@12:20 your choice of music and cinematography is absolutely spot on here Scotty. Nice work, cheers from gembrook, vic.
Really enjoyed that
Also I hope the goanna gets thru to spring
Old pinky 😂 brilliant name for the hang out. Sometimes I wish I could spend some time out there in the bush. Learning what the indigenous peoples knew. I guess you could spend a lifetime learning & still be an infant in their eyes. Fantastic video as always mate. Cheers 🍻 enjoy your time overseas. - Andy
Beautiful country.
Camped down my way. Cracking vid man🤘
Loved the pancake breakfast, another option to try for a pancake topping is fresh strawberries but with apricot jam - those two things together just seem to marry. If you’re at home and want to be really decadent, add some whipped cream!
Bit late to watch the video, but couldn’t wait to see what was in store, and of course, scotty burning his food
I've got that same potstand, got mine from pathfinders store.
Have not been happy with it. Too narrow to work well with an alcohol stove and doesn't give great wind protection.
In a fire i think a little trivet would be better.
You did well though, dinner looked great. Beautiful views in the evening and birdsong in the morning.
Loved your shots of the flowers too.
I bought the same kit and have no issues with a trangia under it.
@@royphaller really?
I found it inefficient. Slow to heat up, maybe because of the height.
Once it gets going the narrowness causes heaps of vapor to build up and the flames spill out the sides.
Slightest breeze and it takes forever to boil.
Night and day compared to the whole trangia set up. Pity the trangia kit is so bulky.
Great work Scotty. Another favourite one for me to save. It's good you're teaching and reminding us all to be fire aware. What a gorgeous land. Do you ever take back a part of plants to identify at home and press them? I'm an herbalist so I would. Have you considered making your own pancake mix with less sugar and half whole grain flour? Just an idea. Have a great vacation!
Another great vid,, Scottie. Well done.
We have such a beautiful country ❤️
Ruined by politicians.......
@@badhabitz69 I so agree
Mate, as always, another great video! 19:30 was just phenomenal. Enjoy Bali.
The lace monitor is just in brumation mate, not hibernating. In brumation animals still move about, look for water etc just not very fast / hungry.
Great video scotty. Always blown away by the scenery up there in nsw. Looks real unique.
That landscape is like some sort of far out 3d rendering, so unreal. Enjoy your wilderness, you live in a beautiful place. Thanks once again for your uploads, always a pleasure to watch. Cheers from Ireland.
See on your vid that he had ticks as they do plus its cold they do slow down so recon hes ok , nice place your at there ... real good thanks
THIS is proper caming, cheers mate
Scotty another brilliant video so the big thanks goes out to you for showing us all what a stunning country we have in these hidden gems. Not only that you educate people over the world about our Aussie Bush.
That creature looks absolutely beautiful. And this video is just amazing. I love it.
nothing really to comment but thought I'd chuck one in for the algorithm. Cheers for all these beautiful videos mate muchly appreciated.
Great video, and great to see a camp video of Australia that's not in the scorching outback, always love how you show more of what the country has to offer, snow, rain, and sleeping lizards!
That was, peaceful to watch Scotty. Looking at our ancient land through your lense is seeing incredible beauty. And you just picked it on a map... wow. Thanks Scotty.
Hi Scott. Always good video's. Thought: when making pancakes, throw 3 stones in the coals to raise the pan up off coals. Then they may not turn black but you'll have them nice and brown. Happy trails
It's just incredible what beauty, what atmosphere you were able to create. This is truly a meditative experience watching you. I myself started making videos about my adventures, so I'm interested in everything. Grretings from Belarus tourist. ✌
Had a very similar encounter with a perentie over here in WA after a storm jumped up and had a his and tail whip at as then took off
Hey mate, another awesome video, that scenary is just fantastic with all the rock pagodas. Great tips on fire pit management as well , way to many reckless people out there unfortunately. Cheers 🍻
Dude shut up! That view from after you built the fire ring was SPECTACULAR! Looked like a painting. Beautiful. Great adventure. Hope that lizard is ok!
Another nice video Scotty!
Got yourself some new Fjallraven pants, they’re awesome bits of kit!
Stunning Video Scotty
Another good one!! Love the videos
Death? Look young. Cause?? Great to know he makes sound later!
Always like your background music. Videography is poetic.
Hi Scotty, beautiful country , not sure about the lace monitor, it didn't look to good to me. Thanks for sharing another great adventure.
Thank Scotty for another great video. Great food, beautiful country, what else could you ask for.
Love the adventure as always, but a description in the doobly-doo of where this is would be good. Sometimes I'd love to visit the areas you're in but don't know where you are or anything about the trip.
Doobly doo Never heard that expression before, I love it! lol.
Perfect timing with the weather mate. Nice spot. That defeating mattress would be a nightmare.
Another great video Scotty. Nice to hear you're going to Bali. Have a great trip. Hope we get to see a video from it.
Great video Scotty! I’ve just bought the sea to summit ether light extreme in women’s and it is amaaaaazing. The r value is 6.3 for the women’s one and I think 6.2 for the standard. I found it on snowys for $269 free postage, usually $369. Because it’s the “extreme” version it’s higher r value than the standard ether light one, I hope this helps! :)
Another top video mate and such stunning scenery. I love the mist rolling through and the rainbow at the start. Hope the Wirriga (Goanna in Dharug Language) is ok, they really are beautiful creatures.
I got a Sea to Summit insulated self inflating mattress & it provides so much comfort. Maybe bit heavy for the walking you do at 1.2kg or thereabouts. But you’ll get a great sleep. 75mm thick R4.2 rating 👌
Really enjoyed that one mate! Such stunning country.
Nice shout out with fire pit care, we are definitely luckier with restrictions than some other places
Great video! gotta say - you frame your shots really well!
This landscape of ours with its hills n gullies n rocky outcrops mixed with mist rain n wattles is second to none. Inspiting camping area Scotty. Thanks for the upload mate. Bushybpy Oz.
Wow incredible place mate
LOOK AT ALL THAT PETRIFIED WOOD!
Scotty, make sure to take a really close look at your surrounds and observe as you do with the plants and vegetation. Those rocks you always pass through, with overhangs and caves, take a really close look at them and ask yourself questions. They're different if you take a good look.
Be careful on these solo trips! For the viewers make sure to let them know to use a tracker or let the rangers know of your presence! Peace!
That breakfast looked delicious.
Hey Scotty, another epic video, I too have a sleeping mat with a slow leak I can not for the life of me find, I have been thinking of rigging up a hand pump so I can pump it up rock hard and soap it down and see if the leak appears, got nothing to loose. Cheers from BC Canada
Perfect video 👌
Another quality video, what a lovely looking goanna. Glad he seems to be okay !
Awesome job as usual Scotty! I’ve been watching your vids for about a year now, and have found them inspirational. I’m a current uni student studying recreation and outdoor environmental studies on the Sunshine Coast which has taught me a lot however, can honestly say I’ve become a better outdoor leader because of your content.
Have two questions for you…
1. You have mentioned a while ago on your vids about designing/producing a lightweight durable swag set up…wondered if this was still a plan?
2. Are you thinking of coming up to QLD at all for a trip?
Keep up the good work mate and hope to see you on the Sunshine Coast sometime 😉👍🏼
Yes, plenty of odd spots in the Goldie hinterland for sure. I'd like to see that also 👍
Great video as always. I'm so glad that lizard is actually alive.
Recently discovered your channel. About as far away as life in the UK as one can imagine… will now day dream. Superb, enjoyable vid.
Great video! Love the content and thanks for sharing your outdoor adventures.
Love your videos mate. Keep the content coming, and Thankyou for the inspiration 👌🏻🍻
Another cracking video mate. Well done. Dinner looked good too. When you do carry red meat out on a trek with you, what’s the best way to keep it cool without the extra weight or do you take it frozen ? Cheers mate
love it scotty
Great video as always Scotty looks amazing up there glad the animal was ok atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍🤟🤟
Incredibly beautiful, nice view, greetings friends from Indonesia
Thanks Scotty . Another great video mate. My wife would love to teach you how to cook pancakes mate !!😅
What a beautiful scenery! Loved the video.
Great vid mate, stunning spot!
Speaking about the land before time , sedimentary rocks created by massive flooding, the layers tell a story, compiled one after another in quick formation. You look not only at what is there , but what is not there, no dry soil or vegetation between the layers.
You are good with the camera shots mate, u should do more traditional swag camping next time u should bring a fishing rod ,i am starting to make a traditional swag too and I Am going to go on walkabouts with it
