It's a shame that absolutely all of the planet's rain is now toxic.
"Heavy rain" sounds like a bit of an understatement. Even though that rock overhang had leaks.. much better being there, than just under a tarp.

So that’s where all the rain has gone too. Here in England, we’re having a Barney heatwave. This coming Sunday the UK might see our hottest ever recorded temperatures. Me and my husband used the toaster for our Dutch oven
Over our cooker.
We were able to heat pies and all.
They are a great asset to have .

Les Hiddins was the man for bush tucker, I still watch his videos these days, an incredible bloke with so much knowledge and a great respect for Aboriginal culture and knowledge, skills. If I had time over again I'd have moved over and spent years with those guys learning their skills. Well done with the pizza. So is this the begging of The Wet? We saw pictures on the news of the floods in Qld and NSW.
Lucky we had a dry June. But rather rain than bushfires and empty dams. All ways nice watching your videos.

I so miss the sandstone country of the Sydney Basin. Yes, it's beautiful up here in the Northern Rivers ( most of the time - a little bit sad atm ) but watching that made me really 'homesick' !
What a gorgeous landscape. Lovely to see the banksia and all the vegetation looking so healthy. Very interesting and always a pleasure to watch your bushwalks.
Love the Birds song & sounds, insects and all their squiggles is amazing - beautiful flora & fauna. Things we/children should learn in school....and [cooking ,wood class,auto motives basic...] once was here in America was part of the school system] but now we see the reason it is not...Love your video's so relaxing....

If you want a decent alfoil for cooking that wont tear that would be perfect to do fish parcels go to the bbq section at bunnings and get the matador heady duty foil, you could build a house from the stuff.
Great video Scotty..... caught the edge of Cyclone Yazi while camping north of Cairns. Best cover I could find was a natural rocky outcrop but tied my hootchie over the top & popped a branch under the centre & had a fair night of it. Way too windy for any fire though. Your overhang was sheer luxury...... LOL! Please keep them coming mate.

Sounds like you need to add a small trivet to your cooking pack (like the ones for camp ovens), then you can start making camp bread etc...! Great effort on the pizza, will have to try that out at home even 😋

The rocks in the pan were brilliant.
There's something a little comforting in the rain when camping... as long as you stay mostly dry anyway.... lol I'd say 95% of the camping trips I've done have had some rain to them, so now... if it doesn't rain, even just a quick shower, it doesn't feel like a real camping trip to me lol I had a good giggle at the slip there at the end...

Great vid Scotty the Aussie bush is awesome I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be rain hail snow or sunny it never fails to make me feel alive ,and you're right about tucker you can always find something to eat if you know what to look for.
The amount of rain that the area I live in has experienced in this last six months, has done my head in. But here we have Scotty taking none of that as an obstacle.

Found .. 1 cave with running water easy for washing up. Just before you said it Scotty I was thinking better than being out under a tarp and packing in the wet. Great perseverance mate you made it look so easy. Food was awesome. One of your better vlogs for sure. Bushyboy Oz.

I have the firebox nano stove as well, very versatile, I'll usually used my Trangia spirit burner with it but sometimes use it as a twig stove as well, never used it with the esbit tablets but I understand it works very well with those as well. I like the spirit burner with the firebox because it's very well contained, blocks some of the wind hitting the Trangia and is great for stealth as there's no smoke, with denatured alcohol it puts out a very nice blue flame just like propane. Good video, thanks for posting it.

Scotty, a better way to bake a pizza in your pan is to scape the coals off the centre of the fire, about a bit bigger than your pan, and put three equal sized stones on the ground where the coals were. Place the pan (with tin foil lid) on top of the stones and rake the coals around the pan. Even a few flames around the pan will create an oven heat by adding a few small sticks all around. Maybe about 15 or 20 minutes should do. Give it a try. Good luck.

Gulgadya (Dharug name) aka Grass Tree is an amazing tree. From my understanding you can also eat the bottom of the leaves and the inside of the trunk BUT it kills the plant much like getting the Heart Of Palm. For that reason it should only be done in emergency. Great video mate but bugger the rain lol
